I started working around the corner from Paper Tiger and have been coming by every morning on my way into work. This place is special and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere inside and plenty of treats besides just coffee to enjoy. Stop by and check out this great spot. And the coffee is good too.
Not exactly my vibe, but the coffee is good! Inside was a little musty smelling and kind of dark. It wasn’t a bad experience, just different than what I was expecting. On a positive note, I appreciated that they were selling art from local artists!
I tried Paper Tiger for the first time today after getting my hair done. The shop is cozy and the girl running it is very sweet. I ordered a hazelnut latte and the flavor was nice and smooth. I will be back to try the lavender flavor.
Consistently great coffee, and bagged beans, plus, friendly owners and staff. Theyre kind, and welcome my well-trained service animal. They are reasonably priced, and conveniently located by intersection of Evergreen and Grand, with plenty of parking you can access from either street.
Really great coffee, roasted in house. cool logo stickers, too. its a sort of dry, rich roasting process liie if you like sumatra at Starbucks but find that most coffee tastes too floral, i think u like this. got a double with cream i think it was pre ctaclysm- a tasty brew with the earthiness of espresso very string, which i like. did i mention the logo? its great, fyi, :)
I seldom write reviews, but Paper Tiger was a special experience for me. My partner and I loved the atmosphere. The space is small and cozy with a variety of artwork and trinkets. Paper Tiger is not a plain organized space, it is one of character. It could have been the early morning, but I felt like I had stepped in another realm. As someone who travels, I greatly appreciated this.Between my partner and I, we got a mocha and an iced white chocolate mocha with lavender syrup. I appreciated that I could taste the espresso in my mocha, and the homemade syrup in my partner’s drink was delicious. You’ll love their homemade syrups! The barista was genuinely kind and seemed to enjoy her work. I most definitely will return to try their drip coffee and variety of drinks with other syrups!
Really great place --- service and coffee; both terrific. Such a nice place to hangout and enjoy.
Delicious coffee, lovely customer service! A wonderful presence in the community. Definitely will be back.
This is one place you never want to miss out. Their drink menu is so good and has lots of variety. The service is always great and the owners and staff are so nice! So thankful to work so close to them and being able to support small businesses!
Good drip coffee. Went back to back a little bag of the coffee I had a cup of because I liked it so much. The cashier told me he roasted it. Super nice guy. Would go back.
Good mocha. Nice interesting atmosphere. Visiting here from Central CA :)
Absolutely my favorite coffee ever. Perfectly roasted to my taste buds, warm and welcoming staff. I usually get the latte or cappuccino, cant really speak for the other drinks, but for those 2, they are dreamy.
Very Good Ice Coffee, and very Nice and warming welcome on my first visit.
Really strong and as fresh as it gets coffee
Roasting fresh this morning. The smell is as divine as the coffee. Proprietor is the real thing.
Based on the name, one would imagine this coffee appears powerful and imposing, but in reality is a weak and ineffectual source of caffeine. Keep up that Paper Tiger tradition guys. Great name, very well thought out.
Everything I have ever tried at Paper Tiger has been on point. The Espresso, Americano, Cold-Brew, and Toddy are all always delicious. You can’t drive through but it is absolutely worth it to get out of your car to grab a coffee from Paper Tiger!
Great Coffee & such a fun atmosphere!!!
Great coffee customer service
A really special neighborhood coffee roaster. Excellent coffee blends and artisanal chocolate bars and stuff. The owner and staff are awesome. You guys Rock!!
Great little local coffee shop. They get ya in and they get ya out....and they finally have stickers!!!!
Have been going here every once and awhile since I moved into the neighborhood and has most definitely earned place as my favorite coffee shop. The staff are always friendly and make great coffee for a good price. One of my favorite places to go and read as well. They also offer Law Enforcement/First Responder discount which I love. Great atmosphere, people, coffee, and location. Thank you Paper Tiger!
Great coffee. Great service.
Best burgers in Columbia. They are a great place to grab some lunch. Employees are amazing and the owner is awesome. I love their Single Loaded Cart Burger, their Chili, Chili Cheese Fries, BBQ Bacon Burger, and Polish Dogs w/ Sauerkraut. All I can say is DELICIOUS. Everything is made to order, so youll get it freshly made for you!
Went in for brewed coffee, the server suggested the Chati (described as smooth medium Brazilian roast). Did not like the nutty taste. The place is awkwardly setup for keeping 6ft apart.
Great coffee! Great people!
Their Vancouver fog when they have it is amazing
Good customer service, good drinks, good prices.
Cozy little coffee shop with a great owner. Full spectrum of high quality beans to enjoy close to downtown or take home with you. A home town feel with every cup & really nice customers make this a stellar sweet spot within a sea of coffee houses.
Best coffee ever
Good coffee. Indoor seating, and the staff is very friendly. And the sign about our Governor is great.
Absolutely love this place! Great prices, amazing environment, excellent coffee. The owner is a kind gentleman who is a joy to talk with ❤️
Great coffee and friendly service. I do wish they were taking the mask ordinance more seriously.
First time here with a friend catching up. Nice atmosphere, good coffee and friendly service. The baked goods looked great. Will have to try next time I get there. Great place to meet with clients or friends.
Best coffee hands down
Good. I love going there
I absolutely love Paper Tiger’s iced coffee, which they offer in two strengths to my great delight. It’s cold brewed and available in full strength, or for the tender of stomach like me, half strength. Their vanilla syrup is homemade from actual vanilla bean and you can really taste the difference (it’s divine). The staff and owner are all friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The sound of roasting coffee(when the roaster is running) is a nice white noise, and the smell is fantastic. I’m in Paper Tiger almost every day of the week, to be honest!
Gourmet coffee roasted in small batches on site, as fresh as you could do at home. Another small business is excelling in important ways. Service- professional, mood- coffee lovers, site- wood furniture, small, tucked away, easily accessible; clientele- friendly and faithful.
Second best coffee in town! No knock, Im just a compass fanboy! The syrups at paper tiger are more varied and k simply adore the black current one! Super tasty
Our favorite coffee place
Very knowledgeable and helpful in choosing the right coffee for you.
Small and comfortable with different drinks than most normal cafes. Liked their hot chocolate, but dont know how I could have gotten it sweeter. Then coffee wasnt how I wanted it so I gave mine away, but I have faith that if I tell them last time wasnt the way I wanted it they would be more careful the next time. Their quiche was good and they do have more food choices. Loved the art and the atmosphere. Wi-Fi is here.
Local, community-minded, professional, and kind, they roast their coffee in-house and it is delicious. They are the only coffee place in town that I know of that offers hemp milk too.
Paper Tiger is the best because...Did you know that this is a family business? Did you know that the owners are excited about helping out the community around them? Did you know that they work with students from the Blind School and the Deaf School? This outwardly focused small business is amazing! The baristas here have never messed up my complicated drink and the atmosphere is great too! Always friendly staff, clean tables, yummy drinks and treats, and fun art on the walls. I heard there might even be an open mic night or something like that which is pretty cool too. Check them out!
The owner of the place is really cool. As far as I can tell he treats his employees very well, and the employees are fun. They make their own coffee and sell art from local artists. Its quiet and comfortable. I go there regularly.
Normal score AIsolation service score C-(maybe shouldn’t even be open right now if they don’t change policies)They were surprised at the fact that I wanted to call in an order 5 minutes ahead. I was surprised they aren’t making everyone do that! The barista sounded confused so I asked if it was okay and she told me on the phone that she’d, “try to make it ready at the right time.” It worked out just fine. The shop is pretty small and it would be hard for more than the barista and one person to be in there at a time and have everyone stand 6 ft apart. Please continue to support this local business but also please urge them to keep up with the social distancing protocol.
I absolutely love this coffee shop! The coffee and atmosphere together create the best experience! I take everyone I know here. It is 100% worth parking and walking in!
Great coffee that they roast fresh themselves. The owner is an awesome guy who does a lot for the community as well. Love the inside of the shop itself as well with the roasting area in view of the seating, plants and artwork making it a great place to chill for a bit.
Love the atmosphere. Great tasting coffee at a good price. Showing everyone I know this place!
Paper Tiger Coffee is delicious and smells amazing. They roast their own beans inside the shop. They also have really good tea. Highly recommend coming here!
Both baristas I interacted with were friendly and helpful. The coffee of the day was a Brazilian. The best way to describe the drip coffee is watery diner coffee. Was expecting more robust flavor fr their drip. I cant speak to there espresso, but I definitely wont be trying the drip again.
We stumbled across this coffee shop this morning and Im so happy we did! The coffee was very delicious and it was fun to watch and smell the beans get roasted. The owners seem lovely and were very kind when our toddler spilled his milk everywhere. Definitely a great place to check out!
In town for a couple weeks and wanted to drop by a local coffee shop. We got a mocha which turned out a bit sweeter than we prefer. I wanted to get a pour over coffee which was on the menu and I could see the v60 drippers on the counter. I asked for a pour over but was given the machine drip coffee. I got the sense that she either didn’t want to make it or didn’t know how and just gave me the machine drip. The coffee was pleasant enough.
Quaint shop with quality coffee. Employs students from the deaf school
The only roaster we use. Great staff, owners and coffee.
Great little spot for a cup or a bag of freshly roasted beans.
A fantastic local cafe. If you fancy drip coffee, they have a fine selection of house roasted beans. If espresso is more your game their mocha, with house made sauce, is a fantastic option. They have many home made flavors to choose from. They also feature pastries from Sugar & Salt Bakery - another local favorite.
Stopped in for the first time this morning, super cute shop and good coffee! :)
Had great coffee while having a meeting with a community partner. Nice coffee shop.
Best coffee around town (Vancouver and Portland). The owner and staff are amazing, and all make a spectacular cup of coffee. Paper Tiger turned into my morning sometimes twice daily treat and I still make trips up from Portland just for a good cup of coffee even after I moved out of Vancouver. So grateful to have found this place!
Paper tiger coffee is a happy place with outstanding and quick service from well trained employees. There delicious and great choices of pastrys and drinks. I highly recommend taking a visit and brining your friends or family along to experience the rich tasting coffee and maybe even see how it get roasted. I also commend Mr Kenny (the manager and owner) for his hard work and effort that he puts in not only to make business but to supply the needs of customers and to make sure everything is done in top conditions. Take a visit and be amazed!!!!
Perfect coffee shop experience. Beans were being roasted in the back while I ordered my coffee. Seating is limited to several tables with chairs. No cozy couches like many similar small coffee shops have.
Great people, Great coffee.
One of the best in Vancouver. Coffee is always consistent in flavor and temperature. Sweet enough that you can still taste coffee. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. They always have a smile.
I love this place...It is a great place to sit and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee, without all the noise associated with most shops in the Vancouver area. The coffee, and helpful staff are a perfect combination of great taste, served with a friendly smile.I am amazed at how much Kenny (the new owner) knows about the coffee industry, giving him unique insight on how to blend the beans to give you a delicious cup-o-joe. He is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and passionate about mastering the art of roasting great coffee.I am not sure if you knew this, but they roast the beans there in plain view of everyone, so you can literally See how fresh the beans are... It is an extraordinary experience to watch the process from start to finish :)Take an hour, and just pop in.. Im sure you will be delighted :)
The employees are always amazing. The service is top of the line always fast and friendly. The quality of goods always meet expectations! Owners are always visiting with customers. Enjoy every visit!
Baristas are the nicest people and ready to help. They will remake drinks to get it right so the 3 stars go to them! Ambiance really is lacking. Selection of treats is disappointing. The set-up of the establishment is cluttered but the flavor of the coffee makes Starbucks seem light roast. If you enjoy black roasted, frightfully strong coffee this place is for you. If you enjoy a sweet coffee that can mask the flavor of the coffee itself, this is for you. I drink my drip coffee and espresso drinks with cream no sugar so the flavor of the coffee is paramount. However, they seem to have a loyal following just not me;-)
Great hole in the wall shop. no frills with kind staff and local artists.
Reasonable pricing for all of these drinks, including little bite foods. Of course, they do selling craft items. Paper Tiger Coffee has an excellent atmosphere for everyone come in and drink the coffee. I believe there might need to change the lighting kinda annoying and not in the modern style, however, the best people love the coffee, period.
Great coffee and great service. Quaint little place to meet with friends.
Closest coffee to what we have in Australia (Melbourne) that Ive found in the area. Staff are lovely, and take pride in the coffee. They roast small-batch in house, giving the place a pleasant smell for the coffee lover. Try the bakery next door for a sweet addition.
31 reviews,ALL 5 stars, I had to see what all the fuss was about with this place so my wife and I stopped in the other day and ordered a mocha and I kid you not - it was delicious!!! Theres something about the flavor of their coffee that will have us coming back again in the near future. The place is small but cozy and it just works. Alex was awesome in his customer service and Im glad to post my 5 star review with the rest of them. Keep up the great work !!! :-)
I appreciate they are unique and local. The customer service is hit or miss. The coffee is okay. I love how close they are to my house and the pricing is pretty good with my work ID discount and reusable cup discount.
Ok if you are like me and like to support local businesses this is a great on to support. I am not much of a chai tea person, but was meeting a friend there and that is what she got. I thought I would try it.I have had their regular coffee too. You cant go wrong with whatever you order.
Always love this place. It is my favorite coffee shop! The only reason I dont come more often is there are no big comfy chairs for me and my baby boy to hang out in and I am a nursing mama.
Phoned in an order to pick up 6 drinks...awesome experience! Ordering went smoothly, everything prepared quickly and was ready when I got there. Drinks taste fantastic! (They have the option for a spicier chai and I recommend it!) Will definitely be back...this was my first experience.
The only place in Vancouver where you can get siphon coffee. A necessity for those who dont like all the acid but love all the flavor! Plus these guys are wonderful. Always great customer service ❤
A quiet little coffee shop with quality coffee and a lot of love put into it.
The lady was really nice she was helpful. She allowed us to take our time to order. She was quick to make our coffees and they were with a beautiful design. The flavor was good and location was clean.
Best coffee in town. Excellent service from outstanding people. Their proprietary roasting technique comes through and fills your senses with a robust nutty flavor you cant find anywhere else (literally). My dog and I have made a ritual of going by the drive-thru kiosk on our morning walks, and when I need a pick-me-up after 2pm, I stop into the Paper Tiger cafe down the street for some friendly caffienated bliss. It never fails. Try their beans at home yourself; same distinct flavor you cant find anywhere else.
Great lavender latte. Best flavorings Ive found in the area
Love this place! They are a coffee shop and a roaster. They have great coffee and delicious treats with a kind of funky vibe. Try it, youll like it!
Very good coffee and barista skills. Similar to Stumptown in flavor profile, if that helps. A bit expensive, but worth it. Happily surprised to find very good soft peanut butter cookies (2.50 plus tax). Very limited hours on the weekends (they close at 2 PM). Though thats understandable considering its independent and not in the best of locations; just giving a heads-up to anyone dropping in. The only reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 are the prices, hours, and lack of snack selection. I really like the coffee and atmosphere, though. I recommend it for a weekend morning splurge rather than Starbucks! Nice to find good independent coffee in Vancouver. I look forward to buying their coffee for home use and Im glad they are the nearest coffee place to my new home. It has a small independent coffeehouse vibe that I prefer over chains. I shall return!
A group of us had a variety of drinks and We have never had a better cup of coffee/Tea than We had at the Paper Tiger. The people that own this place know what theyre doing. The experience was a wonder environment, with a crew thats welcoming too. As we hung out we could see they are all about giving back. They hired a deaf person and we could see the crew signin. I gotta say it was as warm and smooth as the coffee that was served. If theres ever a place to buy the best beverage and support a small business, this is you place.
Delicious coffee, friendly great service..
I️ love this place and am really glad it’s walking distance from my house. Their house roasted coffee is what I️ make at home now too. They also make their own flavor syrups which are amazing. The quality of the steamed milk can vary from one barista to the next, some are perfect, some deliver it with big bubbles rather than micro foam but it still tastes good.I️ learned to say thank you in sign language and maybe I’ll expand to being able to order that way too. :)
Small place but awesome service and great prices!
Some of the best coffee in the area, great atmosphere, and the smell of the coffee roasting in house is wonderful. Its been one of my favorite stops for a few years now and theyll definitely keep my business.
Paper Tiger is an amazing coffee shop. There inhouse roasted beans are second to none. As far as I know everything from the flavoring/syrups to the beans is made by them.
Loved the coffee. Medium roast, complex flavors. At the very first sip I thought, wow this tastes great .Very fairly priced. Barista was friendly. This is now my go to for to-go coffee. The only minor observation is that there are so many chairs crammed in here that there is no place to sit down except at the bar. A third of the chairs need to be removed
My top Vancouver coffee shop. Fantastic coffee. Wonderful baristas. $1 fills if you bring your own cup.All syrups house made and coffee roasted in house. Love this place and lucky to live near it.
Most AMAZING coffee Ive ever had. Their lattes and cappuccinos are to die for... Custom service is great and they seem to remember your orders quickly when revisiting. Great price too for local product!
