Being someone who is a fan of collecting pokemon cards from shops, it is very difficult to ensure that the boxes/packs you buy are brand new and not resealed for scalping purposes. After buying a few Pokémon cards from here, this place is a go-to stop if you miss out on online orders or feel like buying anything just for fun. Even got a secret rare card! Very friendly staff which is even better.

This is my absolute favorite game store.Last weekend I came here to purchase my first Magic deck without having done nearly enough research and was assisted by Nate. He went above and beyond to assist me and make sure I got the best possible fit for my playing style. Rather than just sending me home with the first thing I picked up he sent me home with homework and let me know when I could come back so I would not have to start the process all over again with someone new.I came back a few days later much more well informed and Nate assisted me in making my final decisions and pulling the list of cards I would need.Beginning to end the entire experience was awesome, I would send any of my friends here, and I cant wait to start playing with my new deck.

Employees are very nice and delt honestly with me. Prices are fair. Its a little unkept and messy inside but that doesnt detract from the friendly atmosphere.

Amazing people, very nice selection of pokemon and mtg products. Sadly, their prices have sky rocketed on mtg items especially their booster boxes. While id love to support local, charging 160 for a booster box thats 90-110 on ebay is just not it.

Batcave has been a destination for Magic The Gather, Pokemon, TCG games and table tops games for more than 10 years. With a dedicated knowledgeable staff. Play area closed during covid check with them for updates.

Came in for a pre order and ended up talking with Chris and he was able to help me track down 4 hard to find cards for my Mtg cube!Not only did they help, they helped me save money based on the card condition I was buying.Chris also said he would be willing to keep on the look out for my last few cards, it was an amazing experience!

A great card shop Ive been going to it for magic the gathering cards for the past 20 years so it is also a well established part of the community and honestly from what I have seen they have the best prices on single cards certain unopened product and im sure plenty of their other merchandise is competitively priced as well if u live in the area and play/collect magic or any trading card game really I would suggest finding people with similar hobbies with the bonus of checking their pretty massive inventory over probably paying more and waiting for online orders just my opinion it is a great shop though

Matt helped us get set up with a Pokemon starter kit. He even split the price so my kiddos could split in the cost. Super impressed with the customer service, and would recommend!

Batcave Games has an excellent supply of ccgs, right supplies, miniatures, and board games. They even have some fun retro trading card packs which were popular in the 80s.They cover a pretty wide variety in the hobby market. It is too bad the playing area is closed through the pandemic but understandable as they are trying to facilitate safety during these times.

Always love coming here. Justin is super helpful and always gives great suggestions to help improve what Im playing (he also talks me out of my bad plays as well haha). Best shop in Vancouver for MTG, I swear.

I mean they got stuff other places dont but thats because they upcharge 3x.. 50 dollar boxes for 160!!!would of never thought a shop like this would be scalping to this extent. 20 dollar boxes for 60 what a joke. Would not recommend this place save your money and wait for stock

Came in with my friend and he bought a card without looking closely at it. The moment we picked up the card we noticed that it was a very bad imitation and brought it up to the sales rep. He proceeds to agree that it looks fake but says that they have a no return policy. Never seen a card shop with less integrity behind their products. Knowingly selling fake cards to an unconscious consumer without any remorse. Never coming back.

EDIT: After speaking with the owner of the store I was able to conclude that this was all simply an honest mistake and not only was I compensated with the correct sleeves, I was given 100 more than I had initially purchased. On top of this, the owner told me that I could keep the sleeves I had originally purchased and gift them to a friend of mine who actually plays MTG. Im highly appreciative of the fact that not only was this mistake remedied, it was done in a very timely manner and with absolutely zero complications or animosity. These guys admitted they made a mistake and went above and beyond to make it up to me as soon as they could even though all I had requested was the correct sleeves. Im extremely happy to see this shop display the strong business ethics I remember them having when I was there daily about a decade ago. Thank you Matt, youre truly an honorable man who cares about his community and I will forever respect you for that.Original Review: Im pretty upset about the experience I had here yesterday. I used to go to Batcave to trade cards and play tournaments all the time when they were still located off Andresen and Mill Plain. Im not sure if its a new owner or something nowadays but I went in Yesterday for some yugioh card sleeves and was promptly told by the person working that there is no such thing. He then went on to explain that the companies who make magic the gathering card sleeves market them as universal and can be used for yugioh/pokemon cards as well since yugioh cards are barely smaller than magic cards. Having been a long time since I had played or collected, I didnt question him and just bought some magic sleeves despite the gut feeling that he was either lying or ill informed. Not even 10 minutes after leaving I made a single search on Amazon that confirmed my suspicion. Normally I try to give people the benefit of the doubt however the fact that he was educated enough to get a job at this shop makes me feel like he simply lied to me to make a sale with absolutely zero consideration for what I was actually looking for. Im extremely disappointed this happened because when I used to go back in the day, everyone was kind and helpful. Feels like now they just want your money and couldnt care less about the culture. All I know is Im definitely not gonna be going back here for anything, pretty big shame considering this was probably the best card shop in the area at one point.

Great store great people

Terrible card shop with business practices. They sell fake cards and have no integrity. We clearly pointed out some fake cards that we purchased (a mistake on our part) and they refused to admit it and said no returns on their policy. The sales rep was unapologetic about it and seems perfectly okay with selling fake Pokémon cards. They also up charge their Pokémon packs and boxes by 3x the original price. This place is a rip off and I would never recommend someone to come here. Take your money and throw it down a drain because that’s the same experience you would get here.

Guy at the counter didn’t greet us at all when we came in, and completely ignored us when we went up to the counter to look at their Magic cards. We were looking for a specific card and some help would have been appreciated but he just continued to sit there and act like we didn’t exist while sorting through his magic cards. I work in customer service and while I get being busy with a task or not being a great mood, completely ignoring guests the entire time they’re in your store is horrible service. I’ll be taking my business to Fate & Fury and Guardian Games from now on instead, given that they actually acknowledge my existence and will stop in the middle of a task to make sure I’m finding everything okay.

Been a regular for years, the employees are always polite and willing to help. Their main product is Magic: the Gathering but they also have a plenty of other card games, board games, and D&D books and miniatures. Plenty of room to play games, and enough regulars that you can usually find somebody to play with.

Been coming here a while now because every time I buy something, the people working would print out character sheets for me. But today the person working told me theyve never done that and he refused to do it even though I was ready to pay for it because he was too lazy to move from his spot behind the counter. Definitely wont ever come here again.

This place is amazing! They are heavy on Magic the Gathering but also have a large selection of board games. They even started selling miniature painting kits and supplies and Dungeons and Dragons miniatures. Super friendly staff and just a welcoming atmosphere.

It was pretty good. The staff seemed nice and they had good selections of cards, dnd stuff, tons of dice and a clearance section so I could bribe my son to be on his best behavior. Board game section was a little wanting but over a pretty good local game shop.

Built many decks and traded many cards through Bat Cave. Ive been a patron of them since I was kid and they were in Battle Ground.

I have been shopping here for the last year and had recently pulled a $54 card from a pokemon pack. I brought it to the store the same night I opened it (no more than 15 minutes after pulling it) to have it appraised and this employee had pulled it out of the sleeve immediately, rubbing his thumbs all over it leaving smudges and finger prints, then proceeded to push his thumb into the middle of the card while holding it and left a severe bend in the card, and proceeded to offer me below a light play price for a card he damaged after seeing it was in near mint condition. I will not be returning here for business as facebook has more respectful buyers than this company, who keeps an employee who repeatedly damages customer product and then offer a very low price.

I’ve purchased 4 Pokémon TCG booster boxes from this location. For 3 of those 4, I’ve received exactly what one would expect and been mostly satisfied with my pulls. However, my most recent purchase was a booster box which was clearly tampered with and a tremendous scam. It doesn’t matter that every other one has been fine, getting burned once is enough to destroy your credibility and make one unwilling to try their luck again.Furthermore, Pokémon singles at this location are overpriced compared not only to online pricing resources, but also other local shops.I won’t buy cards from this location ever again and will advise everyone I know to avoid it as well.

The staff I spoke with seemed pretty knowledgeable. Plus he was definitely extremely helpful, offering suggestions when they didnt have exactly what I was looking for. Prices are decent, certainly comparable to most other shops. They have single Pokemon and Magic cards too! Definitely a loyal customer now.

I am usually always pleased when I come in here. The place is always clean and very organized. The staff has always been friendly to me. I like their selection of packs and singles that they have. The only thing I wish they had was more trash cans around the place. But otherwise I am very pleased with the card shop.

Matt, Karl, Ryan, etc. give you fair buy prices, are always there to help you, and have a quirky sense of humor you can only find in a card shop. Ive been coming here for years, no matter the location. Even though I rarely come in the shop, they treat me like a valued customer.

My kiddo and I went here so she could play Pokemon tcg at their weekly event. The staff was helpful enough, but their passion was clearly in games outside of Pokemon. My daughter had fun with the other kids, but well likely scout a couple more locations before returning.

This is my favorite game store. Everyone who works here is super friendly and knowledgeable and they have an excellent selection. I participate in a weekly Marvel Legendary league and it is a great time and the staff is super nice and helpful with it.

I went here to get some dice. Got two beautiful, non-cursed dice (they roll well, not always low). The people were friendly, the place was bright and open with gamers in the back at white foldable tables, and everything was clearly identified with both price and what it was. 10/10 would stop by again.

This store is absolutely amazing. Located off millplain right next door to island hobbies, this place has an amazing card selection and TCGP community. The staff is friendly and the owner is an all around great guy who loves getting to know his player base. If your looking for some higher end cards or just for a fun game of commander this is the place to stop in at!!
