My friend heard about great yelp reviews on this place so we decided to stop by for brunch today. Food - good and a big selection of breakfast food including grits and hash browns. My friend said the mac and cheese was too watery and I agree with her. It was disappointing on how they prepared it. The French-toast was delicious and huge portion size too. It’s like a dessert almost. The chicken sandwich was okay, but nothing to write home to mom about. The side salad was basically lettuce and dressing. Service- It was packed but my friends and I did get bar seating. I would recommend making a reservation 24 hours or earlier because it gets packed on Sunday. We definitely had to be more proactive with our needs in terms of service due to how crowded this place was this afternoon. Getting here - We walked from the W&OD trail but I hear the parking is packed usually. I would recommend walking or biking if possible. Bathroom- it’s colorful and clean. It has attitude. Overall, maybe because I got lunch and not brunch/breakfast this place was okay, but not great in my opinion.

Ok. We went to the Merrifield location a few weeks ago and that was great but today we wanted to try the Vienna spot. Very out of the way location but along the W&OD canal path. Lots of cycles and walkers stopping in. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The fog ipa was the best. We had already eaten so did not try the food but the selection looked awesome ( and they seem to have breakfast now) definitely will be back.

In short, excellent beer, medicore food. In longer form, my wife and I each ordered the fried chicken sandwich (one spicy, one buffalo). The bun was excellent, however the sandwich was, according to the menu, supposed to come with aoli, pickles, and lettuce, none of which appeared on either of our plates, otherwise the sandwich was passable, but nothing special. The fries were under salted, but once we asked for extra salt and seasoned them appropriately, they were decent...again, nothing special. We also started with the pretzel appetizer, which was also under salted and too dense, but the accompanying mustard was outstanding. Every single beer we drank was delicious, from the IPAs to the Pilsners and Lagers, all were very good and are worth a return trip. The location seemed odd at first, but ultimately was charming and even refreshing for its surroundings. People have complained about parking previously...we had no such issues, spaces were aplenty. All in all, we had a great time, but wish the execution of the food had been better.

Visited tavern from Albany NY. When arrived found multiple tables on patio dirty and food plates on them. Walked in doors to wait to be seated and nobody acknowledged us for seating. So we positioned ourselves at the bar. Found the place to be very dirty and the bar was not wiped down The bartender Luna informed us that service at the bar would be faster if we scanned the bar app. So we just asked for a draft beer. In the first 10 min at the bar 5 people walked up to bar and bartender never acknowledged them. We decided to finish our great tasting ‘The Fog’ draft and go elsewhere for lunch.

This place is awesome. The only downside is that its a little bit pricey. Price aside, the beer is great. The pretzel and the muffin we got both came out warm which was perfect. The mustard with the pretzel was very... Mustardy. Be ready for that. Theyre being very COVID-conscious as well, which is a definite plus as well. 👍

Not the best experience. We visited for lunch and drinks on Labor Day weekend. It wasnt crowded during our visit. Ordering through GoTab was easy enough. But the food took 30 minutes to arrive, and still way before our drinks; we finished eating before those arrived. My girlfriend even saw our drinks sitting at the bar for almost 15 minutes.. she kindly offered to help just grab them, but the bartender girl was incredibly snappy and told her sit down and wait. A family nearby seemed perplexed too and asked the bartender if she got their order; she was so rude and basically dismissed them. Maybe she was overwhelmed, though it wasnt crowded; still no excuse to be rude in any regard.Yikes. Too bad, since the food and drinks were pretty tasty and the venue is nice. Service ruined it though. We wont be returning.

Honestly pretty blown away by the food here - I expected elevated bar food but this is legit! The charcuterie board was impressive (rillette, especially delicious jam spread, and these fennel crackers that are really unique for a flatbread style), others enjoyed the mac n cheese and pretzel bun burger. The drinks were great too, fog IPA and blueberry shrub. To top it off, service was super friendly and the environment is perfect for hanging out with friends, but also we had our toddler and didnt feel weird at all.

I was very disappointed in the service and food here in Vienna, particularly since I remembered that they had one of the tastiest burgers in town with amazing homemade catsup. It was a beautiful day with a reasonable group of patrons outside and few inside for lunch. Service was negligible and it took 40 minutes to get an overcooked hamburger (I requested medium rare) with burnt tasteless bacon and sweet potatoe fries. 20 minutes after placing the order, someone came to the table and asked if I preferred the old version of their burger, or the new one ( that seemed a little late for the question to be asked, shouldnt they have informed me when the order was placed? Better yet shouldnt this info be on their menu?) After finally receiving my order and finding it well done, I flagged down an indifferent waitress, and asked her if the burger looked medium rare and she said No, it looks well done and walked away. With tip it was a $30 waste of time. Would not return. And would not bother with this long diatribe over a hamburger except that Ive had burgers at McDonalds for a few dollars better than this $30 rip off.

We went for a late mothers day brunch and lucked into an open table on the patio. While this is located at the end of an industrial park, the patio looks at woods and the bike path, so its a nice setting. The food was great! The crab hush puppies and pretzel are not to be skipped! The brisket sandwich, and breakfast sandwiches on bagel and biscuit were huge hits. The pancakes with bacon were good, but I wouldnt order again, the other items I mentioned were better. A little too pricey to get into our regular rotation, but will definitely be back!

I was diagnosed with COVID-19 shortly after visiting this establishment. I work from home. I haven’t been to the gym, gone to the grocery store recently, or visited any other restaurants within the past few weeks so it strikes me as odd that I tested positive for B.1.617.2 (delta) shortly after visiting this brewery in Vienna. Not only that, but the service was ridiculously slow. During my visit I didn’t wear a mask, neither were any of the other guests. There were many dirty tables and the staff didn’t seem to care about the cleanliness of the restaurant. It’s certain that I was infected with coronavirus while at this brewery. There was an elderly woman with a nasty cough that wasn’t wearing a mask and coughing into her hands. Maybe it she was infected and didn’t know it. It was horrid, especially given today’s situation, you’d think people would use common sense. I did not see her sanitize her hands once. I will NEVER be returning to Caboose in Vienna and recommend that you don’t as well for your own health and safety.

I really wanted to like this place and tried it a couple of times, but the inconsistencies in food and service overshadowed my experiences to make me hesitate in returning or recommending Caboose. The first time I visited, it was an early Sunday morning and not busy. I ordered the caboose hash, which was listed on the menu as potatoes and a variety of vegetables (along with a very vibrant picture of the ingredients, which included onions and peppers). However, when I received the dish, it was literally just potatoes and mushrooms. I was too hungry and a waiter wasnt nearby, and given the pandemic circumstances, I didnt want to bother the staff too much, so I ate the dish without returning it to the kitchen. The fact that they left out more than one ingredient altogether and the chef/cook did not notice was truly bizarre. On my second trip, our food and drink orders went without a hitch. However, at the end of our stay, we asked the waiter if we could have a refill of water. After a while, the waiter came back and politely reassured us that it was coming. After some more time passed and there was no sign of water, I kindly asked another waitress who was nearby if we could have some water. However, after some more waiting...no water. My guess is we had already paid the bill at that point and they just wanted us to leave. However, whats odd is the first waiter reassured us that we could get some water, and the fact that I watched tables being seated and fresh water being brought to those tables. All in all, the lack of attention to both detail and service was very disappointing, and Im honestly just bummed about what could be a great place otherwise.

Your horribly frustrating ordering system is the main reason Im giving you a one star review. I want someone to actually read it.Im a computer savvy tech professional in my 30s and it took me a good 10 minutes to figure out the online ordering system. Once I got it figured out, it later crashed when I tried to order more. The same happened for everyone else in my party as well. Also the cel reception is non existent inside and your wifi is spotty- pretty important stuff if you are going to lean on a lousy web ordering system.I still had to get a server to help us several times. The server told me they’re all fed up with the system and tired of the complaints and confusion it generates. Despite this, you’ve been using it for at least a year now. I heard at least two other customers complain about it as well while I was there. I have *no* idea how older or less tech savvy customers would ever figure it out. I could see my 60 something year old parents getting frustrated and just walking out.

Its a great place, especially during nice weather. The beers are industry standard for the area.Whats most disappointing is the hidden Fair Wage fee which is nothing but a price hike. This is meant to pull on your heart strings but its just a price hike you dont find out about until you purchase. These types of deceptive practices really erode consumer trust. Good for you for paying decent wages to your employees. Raise the prices on your menu and put a big headline on your menu stating you pay a fair wage so people know what they are paying for.

My 12 year old son wanted to celebrate his birthday at Caboose and made a reservation. He said he wanted to try their burger. We werer seated by a team member on the outdoor area and waited for a server to take the order but never happened. There was a barcode on the table but most restaurants have it as an additional feature to a waiter taking the order. We waited for 20 minutes as no service was available we decided to order with the barcode and thought we did. After another 10 minutes we did not see any server and decided to speak to soneone in the dine in area but was told that the kitchen had closed. The manager was courteous and told us that no waiter will take the order and the customer needs to order using the barcode and the food will be served on the table. He tried to ask the kitchen to serve us the food but guess was late. The issue was that we were never told about this by the person seating nor is there any indication on the table of the same. Suggest that the person seating the customer clearly explain the rule so non one is left hanging. In this case my son was disappointed as he personally chose the place to celebrate his birthday but that was not to be.

This place is so overrated. The food tasted very generic, portions are very small and ridiculously marked up. It is following the DC area ripoff milennials model where you end up still hungry with a 100+ dollar check. This is the town of Vienna, not DC nor Manhattan where those prices are slightly justified because of how expensive the cities are.The menu is poor (tiny expensive portions of cod or pork belly were the only proteins--and the vegetarian selections were uninspired and even more overpriced) and beer selection just average. Also, it is absurd you can have burgers only for a few hours one day a week--we understand that this style is a thing but being that this is a brewery, in a warehouse, in Vienna, full of people in bike shorts, we were expecting some food of which one might possibly fashion a nutritionally complete meal that tastes good.If you want to be trendy, try again, youre about 10-15 years late to the pork belly party. Serving traditional poverty foods at a huge mark-up just means youre ripping off your customers while pricing traditional global consumers of these innards and off cuts out of the market. The last thing the DC area needs is more trendy locavore food that takes ingredient sourcing (which does matter, to a point) as a substitute for taste, technique, nutrition, and common sense. Also, apparently its a license to serve a tiny bowl of plain macaroni w a tiny amount of cheese thrown on top with no other ingredients or seasoning, call it a dish and charge 12+ dollars for it. Seriously, how is your Mac and cheese so bad? We buy the same (great) local cheese at the farmers market downtown, and you somehow have managed to make it completely tasteless. Bottom line, product did not taste like usual quality from these local purveyors. As long time residents of the Town of Vienna we thought this was a great addition to the town but after visiting we are not that convinced about it.

While the presentation of the food was great and all, everything did look good-it just wasnt the case that day. Out of the two dining experiences Ive had at Caboose, this is definitely the worst. Seems like its a 50/50 shot whether you get the good stuff.the pretzal wasnt even warm. If there was a pretzal that was sitting out from the day prior, we got that one. The pub burger was perfectly mediocre. Two dry patties with not enough of the delicious sauce on a soggy bun makes for a disappointing burger, especially when the side of fries are room temp.Typically you can rely on the mac and cheese.
