So we came here because I was craving Fatayer (savory baked pastries). I remember going to a place, but I just can’t remember where it was. Anyway, I remember this bakery, so I thought of coming here. The man behind the cashier gave us an unwelcoming first impression. We kept being friendly and I think they dragged him into being nice. We ordered a few Fatayers and got some stuff from the market. It’s not cheap keep that in mind. As for the food we ordered (which took ages to prepare), I ordered the zaater labna Fatayer but I only got zaater. I had already gone to the car by the time I found out, so I didn’t want to go back and complain. It tasted good. Hubby has the meat pie. It was not an authentic Lebanese taste, but still okay. My son has the pizza (don’t order pizza)! The sauce is actually ketchup. No effort into it and not worth the money. The hummus was okay and so was the Kibbeh. The Tabouli could be better. It was not chopped finely and didn’t have bulgur which is a must in Tabouli. We might come back unless I find the hidden gem I’ve been searching for.
This review is about the dining experience (via Delivery) at this place. To be clear, this review is not targeting the bakery, bread or produce of this place but rather the prepared food. We ordered the chicken shawerma and beef shawerma wrap. Unfortunately, both sandwiches were one of the worst shawermas I have ever had. The pickle is placed in the sandwich as is without being cut. Tomatoes are cut in very big chunks in the sandwich. The chicken does not taste like shawerma but like basic chicken, very poorly seasoned and cut. While we insisted in the grubhub instructions that the sandwich should have no tomatoes, the order was still wrong. Meanwhile, the beef shawerma is even worse. The beef is very dry to the point you cannot even properly chew some of the pieces in the sandwich. To top it off, with this experience the sandwiches are overly priced. I was wishfully thinking that this place will offer an authentic and delicious dining experience in terms of Shawermas, but I am drastically disappointed.
This is one of the best mediterranean bakeries, their zaatar or cheese manageesh is the best! They have many good quality stuff like spices, olives, food cans, dried food and other products with great quality! The owner/manager she is veru sweet and generous (you can see yhe picture of the Baklava was just she gave it to me for free). Ckean, organized! I would highly recommend! If you are looking for some middle eastern products or you want to have good manaeesh go to Wooden Bakery! ❤
We usually visit this bakery with its middle eastern food market to buy freshly baked pita bread and various ingredients for Lebanese and Syrian cuisine. It is a good place to shop. Also, we buy there freshly baked hot manaich with zaatar or cheese as well as chicken shawarma sandwiches.
Great pastries right along the bike trail.
Its just not friendly staff you dont feel welcome there.
They have this fire oven where they bake the best Lebanese cheese, zaatar, and lahm bajin (ground beef) manakish. The shop also offers a collection of middle eastern products that we only found in their shop. The space is small to sit and eat so we had our food while standing. The employees are polite, but the place can use some touch ups here and there.
Fantastic pies. I mainly go there to pick up bread and freshly baked meat/cheese pies. I also do pick up some of the cheeses they have as they have a very nice selection.
Have been coming here for years! Their zaatar bread straight out of the oven is FANTASTIC!
Best lebanese grocery in town. You will find basically anything there. Their shanklish and hummus taste just like you’re in Lebanon. Their manakish make you feel you’re back in your mountain village on a Sunday morning. If you’re a lebanese expat or just simply someone who enjoys lebanese treats and goods, this is the place for you.
So glad I found this hidden gem. I’m originally from Michigan and we are spoiled with the number of middle eastern bakeries/grocery stores, but Wooden Bakery did not disappoint. They have a huge variety of middle eastern items and a bakery/restaurant attached. I ordered two manaeesh flatbreads that were made in front of me in their traditional fire oven. They were absolutely delicious. Friendly customer service, great selection, and delicious food. I can’t ask for much more. I will definitely be back and recommend you check them out.
This place is awesome. My husband and I come there weekly. It’s just like our old days supermarket in Lebanon where we can find everything we want ! Literally think of anything and you will find it there .It reminds us so much of lebanon. They have the best Manakeesh and Shanklish.Elham is very sweet and welcoming, she makes us feel home.Highly recommend it !!
This is where you can find all oriental products, displayed very well.
I went there applying for a job. Place looked wonderful and stocked. Everybody was working hard to keep the customers happy. Lots of teamwork among workers.
Amazing bakery but watch our for expired groceries
I love this place! I just wish I lived a little closer and I will be here everyday! They have the most authentic and best Lebanese food and there manakish are out of this world. To me it’s home away from home.
A fantastic discovery. We drive once every couple of weeks to get our bread, man’oushes, and grocery from this lovely authentic Lebanese family place. Unfortunately I can’t put six stars or more!
The lady with the red hair is a witch she won’t even let customers and employee use the restroom
Wooden Bakery has the best manakish and pita bread in the DMV. No place that i’ve been to has topped them. Great customer service, great environment. Would highly recommend trying it out!!
Is their bariad mostly old and thay replacing again again with machine of you eat this bread thay make u sick and stomach problem
Worth going to this off the beaten track spot. Good baklava and other delicacies and convenience foods, some hot food to order and Arab style grocery.
My wife and I were greeted great by the owner and the associates behind the counter, had their manaaesh and shawarma sandwiches . Food was delicious and the service was great . Definitely will go back there to pick up all of our bread and grocery needs . Keep up the great job
Great food. Great groceries. Great service. Home away from home. Thank you!
I love this market / bakery, we got zaatar an meat manousheh they were amazingggggggg ! Highly recommend 👍🏻 And i love the unique selection of middle eastern products that other shops dont carry ! Highly recommend!
The dirtiest and nastiest people ever existed own this place. They hate their lives and they hate the customers, especially the owner lady. She is a complete disaster. Most products are expired and she acts like show does not see them when you point it out to her. This is a totally shady operation. They only welcome Christians.
Authentic, friendly and family oriented .The grocery section is a great addition. My favorite bakery.M
Very good service. I purchased 8 bags of pita bread and they included a complementary small box of ma’amoul (nut-based dessert). Phenomenal tasting, I highly recommend this establishment!
Their manakeesh are great but it is not worth the horrid customer service. We have called ahead for pick up multiple times and come at the agreed upon time. Each and every time, they do not begin making our order until we arrive. Not so much as a smile while we wait for our late order. Never again!!!!
Fantastic fresh pitas! The haloumi one is such a delightful treat. The grocery store that has grown around it is lovely as well! Its also a quick detour off the W&OD trail if youre out enjoying a walk or a ride.
I recommend this place very nice lady alham she is very nice and welcoming people you can find what ever you want, Thanks alham
We had a great experience! Loved the fresh bread and the house made sweets! The lady behind the desk was very sweet and helpful. Enjoyed all the imported products from Lebanon! Prices are fair and the service is great.
Very nice people very nice place
Very delicious and clean ! Will come back again for sure :)
The best flatbread in Vienna you need to try akawi and halimi extra just wow

A1 fresh pita bread. Cant live without it.
Ilham the owner is such a nice lady !!!I called at 5.55 pm she was nice to wait for me after 6.00 pmWho does that !???Great variety of grocery and food .A must visit place ..Prices are normal .
Wow was I excited to hear about this bakery. My wife is Lebanese and this place is filled with everything Lebanon 🇱🇧. I never expected to pay a couple hundred bucks for 12 meat pies and 3 zatar. What was going on. This is terrible and completely out of wack. Also the food took about 35 minutes to make. Unfortunately this will be our first and last time there. It’s sad to say because I believe in supporting local businesses. Especially since we should support each other.
Best Lebanese Bread AroundDont say pita or Arabic bread. This is the best Lebanese style bread you can have. It is on par or even better than what you can get in Lebanon.
Yummy fresh pita bread & arabic delicacies
Delicious food for sure specially the meat and spinach pies. I like their service and they get ur order ready very quick. The lady over there was super nice and always had a smile .Over all it’s a nice grocery store plus the bakery stuff they make .Definitely I will go back again and again.
Been coming to the bakery for years, I always had amazing food and service. Highly recommend this place to stock up on Lebanese goods, bread, and their variety of Manaeesh and sandwiches. They also have nice assortments of prepared and packaged food and Lebanese Pastries.
Clean and carries great products with a decent variety.
I used to buy some groceries from this place but never thought of writing a review. Today I tried the pies OMG I felt I am back home. So tasty.....
Wooden bakery is the best bakery in the area. I drive 45 min to get to this bakery because they are that good. Their bread is always fresh and the people who work here are very pleasant. The shelves are always stocked and everything in the store is fresh!
Excellent customer service & the taste of the zaatar manouché is delicious 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I have been going to Wooden bakery for over two years. I have always found the food to be fresh and full of flavor. The market is always stocked and ready for its customers. I urge you to try all their dishes. You will be delighted.Yolanda Sanchez
The pitas are baked fresh 3 times a week and are absolutely delicious!!
Go on Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat if you want fresh bread. The Zaatar is amazing!
Good middle eastern food selection
Excellent food and service. They have the best Manakeesh / flat breads ever. Very fresh and made upon order. Excellent costumer service and pleasant team working there! Would recommend it to be tried for sure.
Just tried the Pita Bread and these guys have figured it out. This maybe the best Pita ever.Very thin and holds well and the taste is wonderful. Would highly recommend.
The manager is weird she don’t respect people when they talk to her. Also they put ketchup instead of the pizza sauce in pepperoni pizza😶.
Expensive for no reason!
They delivered the wrong order, when I called them they left me hang on the phone for 15 min, and then she said you didn’t order from our restaurant!!
Great products to choose from and the freshest pita.
Nice Arabic foods, reasonable prices, plus imported Arabic groceries. They also make their own pita which is nice and fluffy. I like it ❤️❤️
The BEST pita bread you will ever find in the DC area. Sometimes Ive gotten there and the bread is still hot inside the bags. You will be tempted to eat all 6 loaves before getting home! The soft, fluffy pita is very hard to resist especially if you picked up some lebneh too. My family has been coming here for years and if service remains the same, we will do so for more years to come.
Amazing service. Premium middle eastern products....
Wooden Bakery is The place to get a feel of our Lebanon: Authentic and best bread, wonderful customer service, always there for you when you need them. God bless the Hasrouny family for this much needed business. They bring us the taste of Lebanon we miss so much!!!
I frequent wooden bakery all the time. The food is delicious and the service is great with a smile. The bakery serves the best pies in Northern Virginia, such as zaatar and meat pies.
Good bakery, Amazing bread and food!
Good bakery, try the Zaatar pies.
Not clean environment, very bad customer service
Best manakeesh in the area. If you have a big order, you can call ahead and theyll have it ready in 20 minutes. Their fresh Arabic bread is also great!
One of the best bakery in the area
Great cheese pies and zaatar pies.
My family and I have been customers of Wooden Bakery since coming to DC a few years ago! This is by far the best and most authentic place to get manakeesh from in DC/VA (even better than Muncheez in my opinion). We are always greeted by the people who work here with such delight and we always leave with a smile on our faces. Keep up the great work!! :)
Went into the bakery side of the business, the other side is the lounge. Ordered some babaghanoush to go. Was packaged in a container that dripped oil. Tasted like it came from a can when we got home, but they charged $6. Wont try again
Theyre perfect but the price is too much
Since 3 years coming to this place, best place, best pita breads, and the best manakish ever. They are helpful, friendly and treat you like a family. Recommended
Excellent market for middle eastern food.
Best authentic Lebanese pita bread! Just like back home. Incredible Manakeesh (zaatar) and other baked goods. Friendly courteous service. Highly recommended.
Very mean very rude mnaqeesh not cooked well expired sweet they not even let u try any thing if u ask a bout fresh bread they said we don’t have very bad experience
Delicious pastries. Recommended.
The owner (Rami) and the person you meet behind the cashier (Ehlam) are always very nice and accommodating.During lunch the main restaurant is not open so, best for delivery. Nighttime opens the hookah lounge and that is a very nice atmosphere. The star of this quaint walk on grocery/eatery is the food though. I got a wrap that was excellent in flavor, crisp and just plain yummy. Their crispy but not dry fries were a nice accompaniment!Try it if you are local - it’s good eatin!
Very friendly staff and very homey feel. Love the food and the staff!
Really fresh pitas, middle eastern breads, and dishes! Highly recommend!
Nice Arabic foods, reasonable prices, plus imported Arabic groceries. They also make their own pita which is nice and fluffy.
Friendly staff and the food is tasty.Highly recommended.
Good food. Meat pizza is the best. Many cool things on the menu. Hookah is what youd expect.
Best place to have breakfast in DC and nova area
Wooden Bakery gives you the best service with a very attentive boss and with you good workers to Cook them you order faster and with greater attention
Nice place with a really nice staff, for sure I’ll visit them again. Flat bread are awesome!!
They have the best pastries in town (fatayer) also their pita is good. I have been coming here for three years
Loved the Zaatar Extra and Haloumi/Akawi Cheese and Lebanese Pizza.
Very good place to have breakfast!! Very kind people as well! Would recommend 10/10
This is the right place to eat, Morning, afternoon and evening from 9 am to 9 pm really delicious food 🔥
Loved it. Feels like home
Good place to get pastry and Arabic food. Prices needs to be discounted
Best Fresh Bread ever! Fresh & hot Ask for Eliham she is the best! Thank you
The food they sell is decent, but the Lebanese woman at the counter is extremely rude. Customer service is very lacking at this place. Will never go there again.
Amazing Fatayr can be only found here in the DMV area. I read a review criticizing the woman behind the oven. Her smile and her welcoming personality are an additional perks to the well- done fatayr she makes. I have coming here, and i will continue to come here again. Peace!
Good quality a bit pricey. Place to get fresh pita bread daily.
It is my first time her. We ordered many manakish cheese zaatar kafta and meet. It reminded me back in Lebanon. Really taste and delicious also we bought some Lebanese sweets. Elhma was really friendly and awesome. If you wanted to taste the Lebanese food dont hesitate to try this place. I really liked it.
