Great place to experience Persian culture and get some delicious food. The owners are both very nice and helpful. You can get some really good things here that you probably will have trouble finding other places. Bakery and chocolates are very good. Also they have delicious sour Persian pistachios. Love it.
Like this place. Also their kebabs and pastries are good
WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS STORE AGAIN! I bought fruit preserve. When I opened it up at home it tasted afwul like expired food. I was afraid to get poisoned. I went back to store to return with the receipt they didnt return it saying sticker they put in had the date which is not expired. I tried to explain that it indeed did taste like an expired food and they should consider not selling that expired food to other customers. They didnt care and walked away from me. Usually the time to return anything is 30 days here they have 7 days policy. Even with that they wont refund your money back. They put the stickers on their food not sure if it is accurate. They were extremely rude to me! Will never go back there. Store selling expired overpriced food. Not good!
Rating it high for the take out Koobideh from their kitchen, Faloodeh and Saffron icecream taste close to classic ones! Otherwise the store is not comparable with Persian stores you would expect in California or Canada. Still wish there was more like fresh breads and prices werent that high! ( Except Koobideh that that is priced decently.)
Bought flat bread way expensive, pricey stuff I believe
Looked like a persian food warehouse to me. It was my 1st visit and I found the location a bit industrially! They have a pretty divers merchandise and too many options to choose if you are into the halal/persian/middle eastern stuff (and dont care much about the presentation! )
I don’t know how there are 4 or 5 stars reviews in here .First this place is over price, second almost nothing is fresh . I am referring to produce section . Breads are like 20 to 30% higher and you don’t see expiration dates on their bread .Most other Persian grocery places is better .
We love and frequent Shiraz market. Make sure you try the sandwiches from the deli theyre amazing.
So over priced and the owner and her mother have nothing better to do but to stick their their nose in every persian customers business who comes in that store to find gossip. They are very unprofessional and really need better customer service. Every other persian supermarkets in the area sales the same items for far less of a price. These people steal from their customers. They also have very poor covid 19 hygiene. The old grand mother who works there constantly pulls her masks down or takes it off when she starts talking to customers. Only go here if you want to over spend on groceries.
Vulgar and rude staff without any manners, service, or ethics. An over-priced place with a total disregard and disrespect to their customers. Obnoxious attitudes that demand customers to wait and service them.
Best chicken kabob sandwich in the area.
Overpriced more than double, Horrible service and rude staff and they act like they don`t need business, you wait on staff to serve you while they end their phone calls and finish eating their food, dishonest at the cash register.
The staff is very helpful in answering questions. Kabobs are good. Bakery items delicious. Love the bread and feta cheese selections. I love trying new recipes and the staff willingly will review them with me and talk about different ingredients and how to cook them
Great store, however they are abit expensive.
Very clean and very nice staff specially the meat Dept.
Perfect for a picking up some quick Persian essential. Clean with reasonable prices (not cheap! Just reasonable).
I like this place a lot and I would raise the stars to 5 if they can change a few things. I first like it for it being the only halal meat store in the entire Tyson’s region and have variety of selections from spices to fruits and veges. With that said, the prices are very high compared to all the other markets. I feel that if they improve their price like some of their competitors like “fairprice supermarket” in Alexandria, they would do really well! I would highly suggest owners to update prices and this place would attract more customers. Like many times I want to buy more things but due to prices being high, I resort to not buying.
The worst most expensive grocery shop to go. Prices margin much much higher than anywhere else in DMV. Please choose groceries in Maryland for fair prices. They also charge an illegal sales tax of 6 percent on Food (which should be 2.5 percent based on VA food tax law), if you go to Assal Bakery or other places they charge 2.5 percent. How does Ms. Shiraz charge 6 percent on Food? Greedy people! Shame
Looking for all manner of Iranian and ethnic foods? This is the place to go. They also have a restaurant inside of the market that serves traditional Iranian cuisine. I would stay away from the cab of as it is slightly under seasoned in my opinion.
This is a Persian Food Market at its best and greatest. They always carry their items, you do not hear sorry we are out. The place is run by a couple that have worked hard to make Shiraz what it is today. The only thing that could improve is the price, they are at the highest they can be.But, I like this place and the staff and continue to be their customer.
My family and I were satisfied of our lunch there. Very clean and delicious from our perspective. I tried a thong sandwiches, Very authentic gourme Sabzi and choleo koobideh;...
Nice Persian market, but the people that work there can be a little hot or cold depending on the day. The prices are a bit high for some items, but overall its a good place to pick up ingredients or kabob.Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz
I dont usually post a review, but this place was absolutely too amazing to void myself of an opportunity to recommend. Got Chicken Kabob, and plenty of dessert items. The Chicken Kabob is top quality. Its the juiciest, most flavorful chicken kabob I have ever had in my life. And dessert items can make even the cruelest of people fall in love. They had this one dessert that was made with rose leaves, and it brought back all the childhood memories that were long lost. Also had baklava, cookies, Persian candy. Excellent!
Great middle eastern market within walking distance of Adaire
This place overpriced . I was overcharged for everything and taxes on top of that. I only realize when I get home . Don’t trust this place .
It is mainly a Persian food and grocery market but also has some Turkish, Middle East, and Lebanese items. It includes a small dining area and bakery products as well. It is not a fancy store with high prices but you can find more reasonable prices for the same items if you look for some other areas out of Reston/Vienna.
Expensive(Its McLean daaaa)
I go here for the lavashack 🥸
Has some of the best Iranian food I’ve ever had. The staff is also really friendly. Highly recommend trying their kubideh.
It is really nice there are a lot of herbs and stuff that you cant usually get at places like Walmart.
You can find Persian and Mediterranean items . The place could be more clean.
Be carefull when checking out. They over-charged me . I bought three pieces from one item but they charged me nine. I realized it at home and returned to the shop to get money back. But they acted like I am a lier. They were very rude. They made me without saying anything and I decided to leave Because my guests were waiting in my house . I left the receipt and money. I will not go there again and recommend that be carefull about it Because it is not going to be easy to get your money back
Great Kabob secret in Tysons, not the flashiest, might not even know to look, but the Kabobs are great and never crowded.
Persian/Mediterranean food and groceries. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable.
Good collection of everything you need. Poor choices of cashiers. I have met at least two rude very uninterested cashiers there. One in specific, carrying on a fight in Arabic on her cell phone as she threw my stuff around!
A lot bigger than I first expected. They have one half of the place set up as a store and the other half you can buy produce and meats and other Iranian goodies. The market carries all the Arabic and middle eastern products you want / need. It’s a tight space, but they have EVERYTHING.
All you need Middle Eastern spices. They have frozen kibbi, and canned Persian food. Awesome fresh Persian bread but their grilled food not the best.
Shiraz is one of the most expensive Iranian market in town with 100% mukeup on 80% of their store items. For example Ohanian Sujuk all other places $11.99 at Shiraz %18. Piyale Feta Cheese other can container other places $8.99 at Shiraz $17.99 One it come to get your refund. Good luck on that you maybe waiting for week or two. Never to shop again at Shiraz...
Its a good place to try new food
Pretty good place for shopping your Persian groceries
Way too EXPENSIVE: one can buy the same product in Medina Market, 5 miles away in Herndon, for 25-50% cheaper. Their meat market segment is just not as fresh as the latter and their choices are much more limited. Although their bakery section provides a good Taftoon, they have recently DOUBLED (100% increase!!!) it’s price. Plain and simple unreasonable.
Good collection of mideastern groceries and bakery.
Love this family owned small all natural market. What a treat and pleasure to have in our neighborhood.
High prices and low quality products. Purchased some gaaz and it just tastes like sugar. There fresh made bread is good.
I bought halal chicken and baklava, while chicken has no complaints, baklava is almost frozen and it is far from fresh. I would go back for chicken but not for other stuff.
Best Persian market that I know
Very clean am good customer service
Wonderful i got all what i need to cook lebanese
Great place to buy fresh made food to eat and buy Persian, Middle East and Turkish canned foods.
ےش آ زد نس آج very good place to shop for grocery
The male owner is a complete A hole. He always acts like he is doing you a favor. Not coming back here.
Prices too high. I did some shopping at this store just because it is an Iranian market.then compared with exactly same items and prices in a nice clean Afghan and Asian super market.Just a few examples :Dunar Basmati rice $19.89 versus $15.45 at Asian market .Sangam bread around $7.00 compare to 4.70 set of saucers and cups $16.00 versus $11.00 . So everything you compare are at least 30 to 40% higher at this store.! Knowing that the competitors have added say at least 20% to their own purchases this means Shiraz market adding at least 60% profit to their initial purchases.!THIS IS A STEAL !!I will never shop at this store.
Fantastic place to get halal meat. Staff is very cooperative and helpful.
Great place to do your grocery shopping. The people who work there are super nice and helpful.
Honestly, this place is more organized than Most of the middle eastern grocery stores that I ve seen before. However, they are overpriced . The costumer service is not good, and the ready to go food sometimes does not look fresh, at least in my two visits.Do not expect to see this store similar to a middle size grocery store in terms of goods, type of bulk foods and so on. This store is a local size grocery store, that sells mostly persian_afghan style stuff.
Full selection of IRAQI groceries. On site halal butcher. Lovely meat selection.
Great place to buy and bring home a little taste of the old country.
Good staff good product
They have so many yummy things and very friendly staff.
Very pleasant staff. I found the weights of phyllo dough that chain supermarkets dont carry, such as #10 for spanakopita.
They sold me a small piece of ginger for $3.99! My bad I saw the receipt after I got home. Will not be going back there.
They have everything that Im looking for. Great place to shop for international food.
Great food, even better bread. Reasonable prices, although they are going up.
Good variety of Persian food, good price, good quality
Most helpful staff and best prices.
Beautiful and well stocked marketplace. Love the dates.
Great selection, friendly, nicely prepared food for eat in or carry out.
Actually is a Turkish market, but with a very good variety of products. Including pear jam.
Good selection of Middle Eastern and and central Asian foods and spices
I love the food! Wish I could eat here daily
A good grocery for middle eastern food and products
I love the pastry in here, they are fresh and delicious.
We visited the Shiraz Market Store on July 3, 2015 for the first and last time.We ordered Barg, Koubideh, and Chicken Kabob (two of each) for take-out. They certainly offer the worst Persian Kabob in the entire North America (US and Canada)! The quality of their Kabob is so horrible that we ended up tossing the entire order out (~$80) after taking a bite each. What a waste!
Kind, professional staff with almost everything you need in an Iranian kitchen. The food at the restaurant is really good too
Kababs are not as tasty as they mentioned in previous reviews and meat prices I found costlier. Staff is terrible in understanding orders, probably because of language issue. Worst part is you do not get meat orders as you want. On meat counter I asked him for Ground Goat, he showed me Ground Beef. I explained him as patiently as I can, I dont want Ground Beef, I want Ground Goat. He said Ok, I went to him after 15-20 minutes. Now he is again giving me Ground Beef and told me he dont have Ground Goat. I told him you understood my order of Ground Goat and said Ok. Now you are giving me Ground Beef. If you did not had Ground Goat then you should have told me before. I am now going to search for alternate Halal meat shop in the area,
Great customer service!
Good selection of middle eastern food
Love this place for my shopping
Good food and best place for halal meat
Great food. great staff.
Find everything in one store. Clean with great food and great customer service.
Nice selection service always with a smile
The most delicious dates
Very expensive. Has a good variety though.
Great place for Persian groceries.
Excellent choices, great customer service
It is absolutely expensive but it does have good stuff
Too expensive agha jan
Staff was friendly & food was delicious!!
Terrible food and trwats their customers in the absolute worst way
I bought one item and it wasn’t fresh, after few min came back for return with the receipt, but the owner said we Don’t return and you opened the item !!!!!! They are not nice and they are very cheap, they lose more Costomer because I tell to every single person about the bad customer service and cheap owner
It took a while to get our food and there was a language barrier, but the food was delicious and the store had a decent selection of halal and international merchandise.
The Grocery owners behavior is very inappropriate and prices are very high If you try to compare, you will find out how much the prices are higher than other Groceries
Good to find orient food
Very nice and friendly staff
