We did the biobay tour with Erin driving, and Mave and Cuba as our tour guides. It was a great and educational paddle. The bay was amazing and they kept us away from other groups so we were able to explore the bay in darkness and solitude. Erin gave us great food and drink advice during our drives. Highly recommend.

We took bio bay tour with Black beard sports and had an awesome experience. The group size is small and the guides are concentrated on everyone and helped out as needed. It’s first time kayak for our friends and they picked up a bit slow. One of guides Cuba helped them and made them feel comfortable. Now they are confident to kayak and enjoyed the whole experience. We are so glad that we picked Black Beard sports for our activity.

Small group allowed for a good experience to really learn the biological background of the different areas. Very kind and accommodating to help us enjoy our experience and allow ourselves to go as hard as we wanted.

JJ took me and my boyfriend snorkeling and could not have been a better guide. Personable and full of great stories and information about the island and history. WELL worth the $50/pp for the ride out to the beach, his knowledge of the best snorkeling spot, all the gear, a few extra sightseeing spots and his great personality!

By far the biggest disappointment Ive had with my own people. Im from the main land and took my husband from the U.S. to see this Bio Bay together for the first time and did not get to see anything. We started hearing other places cancel their tours but didnt know why. Turns out they appreciate their customers more than Black Beard does for they knew there was no bio sighting due to the recent weather. Even our taxi guy said he did not know why they kept the money and did not cancel because everyone knew there was not a chance to see anything. Im ashamed to have had come just for this attraction and was so upset that left the island in the early morning without wanting to see anything else.. Make sure you use other tour places that cancel and value your limited time and money. This place is not it.

We had an awesome time on the Bio Bay kayak tour. Both our driver JJ and our tour guides Hayley and Jordy were charming, knowledgeable, and facilitated a safe and fun experience. Highly recommend.

We did the Bio-Bay tour with Black Beard Sports the first week of April. It was amazing! We loved the tour and our tour guide Hailey was great. We took our 6 kids and all of them loved it. It was a wonderful tour and I would recommend it to anyone!

Hailey made sure everyone’s mask and snorkel fit and—importantly—that every last person really truly felt comfortable with the mechanics and fit (she took an extra few minutes with my sister). She was professional and we had totally chill and easy interactions, with a great education (all kinds of cool factoids!) and plenty of flexibility for each of us to go our own way and spontaneously experience things—like following your very own turtle into a sparkling sunny water-glade! Marvelous.Above and beyond bits:- Flexibility in meeting the six of us late! And immediately gently pulling us back into vacation mode from our stressed/tense arrival- Texting my dad a list of the fish we’d seen! Great plus for his experience- Driving us to our hotel. A major save since all rentals were sold out and we’d been struggling with taxi delaysHighly recommend

Highly recommend the bioluminescent bay tour - especially if Erica and Maeve are your guides. They’re an absolute delight, knowledgeable, and very funny. If the kayak thing doesn’t work out they have a very promising stand up career.

I highly recommend this tour group! Responsive from booking to arrival. The nicest equipment from what I could see from other tour groups at the meet spot. Very professional, informative, and welcoming personalities. I felt like they actually cared about me and my experience, not just the money. The bay unfortunately wasn’t as bright on our trip, maybe cuz of Hurricane Elsa and all of the storms. So that part wasn’t as expected but it’s the luck of the draw. Nonetheless it was magical.Shout out to our amazing tour guides Jordy and Mave! Such great people! They really made it funNo photos for this review since we left them in the van.The only negative I have is that multiple times I emailed and called looking for a later tour so it would be darker and even a week prior I was told there wasn’t one. Once I was there we were told the driver was going to get the next tour and I was like hmmm

Maeve and Erica were the perfect guides for the bio bay kayak tour! They were so knowledgeable and friendly. Clear bottomed boats really enhanced the experience. We learned so much, would recommend to anyone.

Went for the Bio-Bay tour. Hailey, Erica, Jordy and Maeve were our guides - they were super friendly and helpful! The tour was unbelievable - nothing like we had ever experienced! We loved the experience so much that we felt like we had to come back for another one. Glass bottom kayak was a highlight! Stargazing was another plus. Do remember to go around a New Moon date!

We took the bio - luminescent tour with them and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. JJ was so much fun and his energy and enthusiasm and his love for the island was just amazing ! Our guides to the bio bay Jordi and Maueve ( or Mabe ? Sorry I suck at getting names and spellings right ! ) were also amazing and explained everything very well ! Highly recommend these guys for the bio-luminiscent tours.

One of the main reasons we visited Vieques was to visit the Bio Bay. After looking at available companies that still had slots during our dates, reading reviews, seeing the locations, etc, Black Beard is what we decided.We stayed at the Isabel side of the island, and so it was very convenient that Black Beard has an office there in Isabel. When it came time for our Bio Bay tour, we simply walked to the store and were greeted by our driver, JJ.The tour started on time and JJ was a great driver - so sociable, funny, energetic and friendly. He shared stories about the island, about life on the island, about the biodiversity of the island, about hurricane Maria, about politics, etc. A little of everything. He was also open to answering any questions we had about the island, Bio Bay and other things. His energy and entertaining conversations made the driving experience great, and he was also a safe driver.When we arrived at the Bio Bay, we got a great tour with Mave and Erika I believe was her name. It was a small group, so we got to really know them, hear them and enjoy the tour. They also had a lot to share about the Bio Bay and educated us on the biology of it. They were also very familiar with astronomy and so even though it was a Bio Bay tour, it was also half an astronomy tour as the skies were clear and we got to see a lot of constellations and the tour guides had a lot of knowledge about them. With regards to the tour itself, the guides were also very descriptive with the instructions on what to do, not to do, where to go, when to stop, when to go, etc. And they also helped us load and unload off the Kayak. We felt very safe with them and also very fortunate to be part of their tour. They were so helpful and a pleasure to meet. Even though the tour starts very late in the day, they brought energy and joy and made the experience great.Since the Bio Bay was one of the main things we wanted to do on the island, it wouldve been a disaster if the experience had not turned out great, but thank you Black Beard Sports and staff for making it special.The drive back with JJ was just as entertaining even though it was also late and he got us safely to our initial destination. These guys are great and were grateful to have chosen them. Thanks guys!

I had such a blast snorkling for the first time! It was really fun and Hailey made the experience even better. One of the participants was a bit scared and Hailey held their hand until they were comfortable swimming alone. She was very informative on all the speices we saw and a joy to swim around. Idk if all guides do this but she had granola bars and water ready for us after we hopped out the water. Highly recommend using their service and swimming with Hailey if you can. The experience was worth every penny!

These guys are the real deal! We booked two tours - Snorkeling and Bio-bay with Black beard.This was our first experience for snorkeling plus we dont know swimming at all. Yordi, Haley and Bea handled us so perfectly and we enjoyed every moment. They were guiding and motivating us throughout.The Bio-bay tour was amazing and totally worth it. We got little late for the pick-up van due to our dinner but Haley waited for us and coordinated well till the time we boarded. Yordi and Bea were our tour guides and told everything about the history which was very informative. They did point out planets, north star and milky way galaxy. The kayak had glass bottom and we were able to see through. We have never seen such a beautiful scene like that. We would suggest not bringing any cameras or even your phones if you are want to take pictures because its impossible to capture them. The Bio Bay tour was an unforgettable experience with the glowing, green water and pulsing light fish.Good pricing, great rentals, best staff.

I did the biobay tour, and it was a highlight of my trip! jordy, haley and gladys were knowledgable, personable and fun. besides the biobay (which is amazing), i ejoyed jordy and haley talking about the whole ecosystem, the stars, and little local history and legends.
