I live out of state and found a car online that was at Maguire & Sons. I called them and they were super easy to deal with over the phone. I made arrangements to drive to look at the vehicle and they made the entire experience from the time I drove on the lot until I left with the vehicle extremely pleasant and hassle free. Ted was great and he and the entire team are not high-pressure and truly make you feel comfortable purchasing from them. I would highly recommend doing business here and will certainly be checking with them again when I am in the market for another vehicle.

Easy process…. The truck I brought had a different sticker price than the internet price and they honored the lower with no hesitation. Offered me an extended warranty but weren’t pushy about it. They gave me a fair price for my trade-in. Paperwork was done thoroughly and quickly. Overall excellent experience and would definitely recommend.

Everyone was helpful and friendly, vehicles were well chosen and cared for. They obviously want to maintain their good reputation with good cars, not junk. They have some well-maintained classics, too, and are military friendly. I would definitely come back!

Today I had the best experience ever!! I purchased my 2016 Tahoe very easily and quickly. I went to the car lot first thing this morning because I already knew what I wanted. Ted literally asked me everything I wanted and went from there. He started my paper work...gave me time to crunch numbers and make sure its what I was comfortable with. After I got approved for everything I sat down with Matt. He broke down my different options of payments, explained every little thing to me then gave me all the time I needed to call my insurance company no pressure at all. Everything about my wife’s experience here was great. She went by herself and didn’t feel hassled or rushed at all. They let her look around by herself and also let her pick and choose which vehicle she wanted to test out. This had literally been the 12th lot she had been to that day and she felt welcomed and appreciated. Vehicle buying process was a breeze. It took about an hour in a half to get her in and out. These guys are the real deal and a breathe of fresh air for sure. I highly recommend this place to anyone. By the way they knew she was military before she purchased and still gave her room to shop around without being hassled. It was an amazing experience.

I would give zero stars, but not an option. I never got a chance to actually look at the dually I called about because they sold it the day before I was coming to look at it and didn’t have the common courtesy to call me to say they sold it!! I drove 2 hours in the pouring rain this morning to this dealership only to find that they sold the truck yesterday, yet no one bothered to pick up the phone to let me know! My rating for this company is a zero for poor customer service!!!

Ive been looking for a very specific vehicle and I found one here at Maguire. A 2012 Forester with low miles. I went by the dealership on a Saturday and they tossed me the keys. Drove it and loved it. I communicated by text with John and we handled all the details online and over the phone. Wife and I went in on Wednesday night and we were in and out in less than an hour with our car. These guys know how to make a customer happy.

In November 2018, I had the pleasure of dealing with McGuire & Sons. I saw an interesting car on the internet that was being represented by this company. I called and was transferred to a very pleasant and knowledgeable man by the name of Ted. He and I chatted about the car and made arrangements for me to drive the 1 1/2 trip on the upcomingMonday. He gave me his cell number and told me to call when in route.I arrived at 10 am and left around noon driving the new to me Lexus. The entire staff was so accommodating, professional, warm and welcoming during my two hour visit. The mascot Mr. T. (canine) was a special addition to the group. We got our 2009 Toyota Venza from here recently. I am a very skeptical individual and am far from trusting in car salesmen. However, going into Maguire & Sons became less about buying a car and more about how we were treated by our salesman. We knew what car we were looking for before we arrive and had seen many other dealerships before coming to here. You simply cant be great customer service, genuine character and authenticity. I could say a lot more, but the gist is that if you are looking for a used car you should definitely make this one of your stops.

I purchased my car 2.5 years ago from Maguire & Sons at a credit union-sponsored tent sale. The deal I got was unbelievable, and it was just in time, since my car had recently been totaled in an accident.About 2 years later I called to have some repairs done. I had been quoted some very expensive prices (unbeknownst to me) by a local repair shop on the peninsula. Tim was very straightforward and said he would never upsell me like that. Around December I brought a 2010 Lexus, everything has been fine since didn’t really use the ac because it was cold out, now that the weather has changed I find out my ac doesn’t work and I have to pay 1400+ to get it fixed when all they car salesman had to do is be honest and let me choose whether I wanted the car or not. Instead they chose to lie and tell me everything’s fine with the car. I would be careful purchasing and check everything myself before purchasing because they will not be honest with you!

Initially I rated this Business to be five-star, but unfortunately I was sadly mistaken. I purchased a 2007 Land Rover last November and had to get it Serviced two weeks ago. They didn’t fix the truck just put a Band-Aid on it until I drove off the lot. I’m experiencing the same problem and it hasn’t even been 30 days. Mrs. Nancy refused to ask her mechanic what was wrong with it. I was on my way to talk to her about the problem and she asked why very Unprofessional.

Ive purchased 5+ cars from Maguires over the years. Very low pressure, and super helpful group if people with a lot of different vehicles to choose from. What else do you need from a used car lot?

I miss the days when Maguire motors had some niche low mile cars that nobody else really had. While over priced, it was fun to see the older trucks/ luxury cars. I used to drive by just to see what they had on the lot outside. Now its just a mash up of regular auction cars haphazardly lined up to where you dont even know if its for sale or not. Also best to double check if something exists before driving out, as their Auto Guide ads have pages of cars showing but you get to the lot and most of it isnt there any more.

I assisted my college aged son with a purchase on a used vehicle at Maguire & Sons. Some issues came up with the older vehicle several months later and I was shocked how well Tim Maguire took care of them. I have purchased dozens of new vehicles from dealers and have never received comparable service. I highly recommend Maguire & Sons.

Bought a 1997 Mercedes Sl 600 from these guys. I was told the front air dam had been replaced from damage. It hadnt and the wheel well plastic insert was also missing. Was told the tires were new and not dry rotted. They also hadnt been replaced. The hood engine heat pad was also missing. These guys took things apart but didnt fix anything. Didnt even put the nuts and bolts back on the car in the wheel well. The title came back as 32,000 miles when the car said 14,500. It cost 6,000 to fix the items that I had asked about on the phone and they just lied over and over about the car. Dont trust a word these guys tell you and have an independent inspect the car you would buy from these guys. Better yet dont buy from these guys at all.

My name is Michael Von Canon and I am a retired Chief Petty Officer that has spent his entire career in the Tidewater area. Even before I had the pleasure of being pinned I had heard of Tim Maguires commitment to selling quality vehicles to our military personnel. As a First Class Petty Officer, on more than a few occasions, I took my sailors to Tim Maguire to get the best vehicle for the money and the satisfaction of knowing that we were not just customers until we rolled out of the parking lot. These young sailors, many buying their first vehicle, were treated with the utmost respect by Tim and his staff. If there was the rare instance of an issue with the car after purchase, this man would immediately make it right and not cost my sailor one extra dime. You might find that at a major dealership but not until you have spent so much of your time hearing its not covered by warranty and threatening them with an Air-strike. Local retailers with his type of character are rare. In all the time I have dealt with him, his only questionable decision was to hire Carl Cuppy (insiders joke). I too am planning on purchasing a vehicle within the next 1-2 months and his business will probably be my only stop. Remember Tim you promised me a free car if I wrote this, Just kidding.

They will rip you off. Highly suggest kbb for what the value is, or even check with your bank for the actual value. They wanted 16K for an Avalanche a few years back which was newer than the 2004 I currently owned, it even had a bunch of electrical issues wrong with it! When I bought my current avalanche from them I had to take it back to them at least 4 times within the same month I bought it, the last time I had to bring the diagnostic reading myself for them to replace what was actually wrong with it. These people are a joke.
