The staff here is friendly and knowledgeable and accommodating. I felt welcomed from the second I walked in the door. I do recommend this shop.

Great place for swim lessons and dive training.

Can only say positive things about this place. Just completed my open water certification and the staff at Chesapeake dive center was there every step of the way. Eric made sure things were well planned out and encouraged everyone with positivity and reinforcement of what we had previously learned.This place is about all individual attention and not just trying to turn a large volume. This place is simply wonderful. I highly recommend coming here for whatever your diving needs are. I got open water certified through this wonderful company and can’t tell you how great it was. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and makes sure that you are taken care of. If you want a dive shop that truly cares about you learning and your overall experience then this is your place.

They have 2 shops one in Virginia Beach and one in Portsmouth. They offer scuba certification, swim classes and equipment. They also offer some great trips that they curate and the cost often includes airfare. Both Malena and Bob are very helpful, friendly and love sharing their passion and experiences with you. Both are great photographers and see Malena for all things mermaid. Active dive club with lots of fun loving members.

Outstanding. Excellent staff/owners who are great teachers and highly experienced divers. We have done training, gear purchase/service and travel over 3 years with them and it has been more like dealing with friends with impeccable integrity than a store.

Chesapeake Bay Diving Center is not only a full stop dive center but have a team of people genuinely interested in your diving needs and experiences. Bob and Malena are two very experienced divers, knowledgeable instructors and all-around nice people to work and dive with. CBDC is a bit out of the way for most but so worth the trip! They also have a resident mermaid....stop by and check her out!!

Sadly I did not get certified by this dive shop but I did learn of this wonderful shop early on in my dive experience and havent turned back sinceThis is a well run shop that has a network of great people both working at the shop and customers of the shop. I buy all my equipment here and have been on many great trips with the dive club they run.They are awesome instructors and my wife is currently getting her certification from them. I was allowed to sit in on her classes and learned more than when I was certified.I highly recommend this shop

Chesapeake Bay Dive Center is a fantastic dive facility. The owners and staff are knowledgeable in every aspect of diving. My wife and friends have been with this shop on many Caribbean dive trips, always a wonderful time. If you dive or ever thought of trying SCUBA, this is the place to be. You will be in great company.

I wasnt sure if I was going to like scuba diving, so I signed up for a Try Scuba class. It was a wonderful experience!!!! There was a total of 4 students including myself. After a small classroom session, they put us into full scuba gear and put us into a deeper than normal pool. There were 3 instructors keeping an eye on us for 4 students. I had an amazing time!!!!After researching some different dive shops, I decided to go with Chesapeake Bay Dive and Aquatic Center. I am so happy that I did. I just completed my Open Water Certification last weekend. Our instructor, Matt, was incredible. Very meticulous and made me feel very safe. There were two evenings of classroom, 3 pool days, and 2 days at Lake Phoenix (Look at some of the youtube videos. It is awesome). There were ALWAYS instructors keeping an eye on you and making sure that you were safe. For 4 students getting certified, there were always at least 3 instructors keeping an eye on you and making sure that you were comfortable. Safety and comfort was extremely important for me. Some of the other dive shops were cheaper, but the professionalism and level of training were the best available. I feel very comfortable for my upcoming trip to the Caribbean.I had an amazing time. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Chesapeake Bay Dive and Aquatic Center!!!!

Top notch facility. It would be difficult to find a better stand alone Freedive training center anywhere on the east coast. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and reliable staff. They are well versed in all genres related to Freediving. (safety, spearfishing, competition, training, etc.) They are consummate professionals.

They have the most helpful diving instructors. They are always willing to get you exactly what you need to make your diving experience the best.

Just got back from the New Years trip with CBDC and it was amazing. It was my first dive trip but the gang at CBDC made me feel welcome and got me prepared for a perfect dive vacation in the Bahamas. Cant thank them enough!

I took a freediving class at CBDC in February, and it was fantastic! I felt very comfortable trusting the instructors to teach me and keep me safe. I even got all the way up to a 3:45 breath hold! The pool is heated - major plus - and super clear. I highly recommend getting freedive certified at CBDC. Everyone who works there is highly knowledgeable, and the people there quickly become great friends.
