This is the place to go in the SF Bay Area—beautiful showroom, knowledgeable staff, and excellent service. I went for some advice on a tubeless setup I was struggling with, and they had a look right then and there. I was back on the road far sooner than I anticipated.
I was browsing the shelves for items related to bicycle maintenance. I found their MUC-OFF dry lube cost less than at my LBS. I bet Ill find more Easter eggs next time I return to this store.
Got some very high end bikes hereThe inside looks like a art gallery for bikesHappy with my new Scott mountain bike
I trusted them with my bike & to my surprise, they messed up in service. My bike was working well before, I had taken it to Mt Diablo too.I requested a guy to check everything as my century ride is coming up and he said we will degrease all, for which they charged me a good amount. On my century ride day, my smaller chain ring broke (and my bike was just 9 months old), I took my bike to another service shop and he showed me that they didnt put two bolts properly on a smaller chain ring. They messed my first-century ride experience and also cost me the double the amount in fixing my new bike.It is a really bad shop with the good salesman and bad service folks.I will never recommend this shop to anyone.
I dont write many reviews, but this one I couldnt pass on. I walked around the store for 20 minutes and got a bunch of looks from the guy sitting on the computer and not once did anyone ask what I needed or if I had any questions. I just came from Mikes Bikes 3 minutes away and I spent an hour talking to the guys there about what bike I wanted. I came over to R&A to compare and get different opinions and look at different bike fits but how could I when no one cares what youre there for apparently. Im sure the owner is going to write a response about how busy they were but a simple Ill be with you in a sec is all thats needed. Looking forward to going back to Mikes and getting my bike there.
I just got back from R&A Cycles, after a safety/check up for my brand new e-bike. Everyone was super nice and the bike mechanic explained things to me in a clear and straightforward way. I didnt feel judged for my entry-level online purchase or for being an older, casual rider (although I am clearly not their target customer).I also appreciate their reasonable rates and the fact that they were willing to help me at all - many shops in the area wouldnt. My ride home was a blast and I feel confident now about riding around!Thank you so much for your help :)
I tend not to share negative thoughts. Feel free to look at my past reviews. With that said I often look online before visiting stores and making large purchases so I write this message in the spirit of saving someone the disrespect I was just gifted by one of the stores employees. If the stores owner is reading this the gentleman has a blonde buzz cut and a scar between his eyes.I rang the doorbell as instructed. No response. The employee was standing right next to the door, so I knocked. I was then stared at and he stuck his pointer finger up as to tell me to wait one minute. After waiting for quite some time I knocked again. The employee looked at me rolled his eyes. Came to the door in frustration as if I had inconvenienced him for showing up at the store.I’ve never felt less welcome as a customer and it’s a shame as this is a new business in our city. The lack of kindness and general courtesy was upsetting to say the least.
Great bike shop with a wide selection. The staff is super helpful. Highly recommended, especially if youre looking for a higher end bike.
They have a great selection of good quality road bikes and were quite helpful with me in selecting one, which was a pleasant surprise given the covid restrictions and limited supplies generally. That said, the good comments basically end there. In short, after buying the bike, I simply could not get any worthwhile response from them about anything. First, I talked with them at the time of purchase about getting a larger inner chainring, so as to accommodate the hardest climbs around here, like the last tenths of a mile at the top of Diablo. I was assured that it could be done, and it could happen in conjunction with the follow-up fine-tuning service after my first couple hundred miles. So I ordered the chainring from another place, and, after it was delivered, I got a message from R and A that - - on further thought - - it was not doable with my Shimano electronic shifting. Not great, but so it goes . . . mistakes are made sometimes. However, I also tried to call/email/visit to schedule bringing the bike in to have that fine-tuning done. You know: what you do after you buy a bike and ride it for a while, to make sure everything is as it is supposed to be. (I never was told if that is gratis and part of the sale, or has to be paid, though I was prepared to pay for it.)Note, though, when you call, no one will answer. I tried calling maybe 5 times, and each time you are told to leave a voice mail, because they are too busy to answer the phone. (Other people have had the same experience.) I never got any call back.Another recorded suggestion is to send an email. What brick and mortar does that? But I did email, and never heard back.I even stopped by once while in the neighborhood, and waited about 10 minutes, but the employees were helping other people, and there were one or two folks who clearly had been waiting longer than me, so I left.So again: great products, and likely good advice selecting them; but figure that youre on your own after that.
The first thing you should ask is their return policy. I bought a bike from R&A and I found out the next day sports basement also carry the same road bike I bought from them Scott RC. being a member at sports basement they give you 10% off on all purchase. R & A told me once the bike leaves our lot there is no return and we dont match membership discount. it obvious they focus more on selling their product rather than customer satisfaction. This will be my first and last transaction at this store. the sales person was so focus on selling me on a bike that he also forgot to return my Drivers license and CC. I had to wait for 3 days to pick up my drivers license since it was MLK weekend an unnecessaryinconvenience.R&A should clearly post your policy return or refund policy it appears your no return or refund policy is against California return policy.
Amazing mechanics and staff. Matias upgraded my cervelo p3 with Di2 electronic shifters. Through, professional and exceptional attention to detail. 100% would recommend for anyone looking for a knowledgeable team!
This is a wonderful store. They carry several hard-to-find, premium bike brands an display them beautifully. The staff is very warm and welcoming.I wen in because I was shopping for a gravel bike, someone told everyone that they carried 3T, a brand that I was interested in. They do carry 3T, but I wound up with a gorgeous Open U.P.Thanks to Andy, Moses, and Matias for all their help, and a shout out to master bike fitter, Arland Macasieb for getting me set up.The shop is a little out of the way, but it is worth the effort to find it.
Absolutely beautiful showroom with many different brands, very clean, organized, and helpful staff following covid-19 guidelines. Staff might’ve been a hair overbearing, but it’s there job to make sure customers don’t have any unanswered questions so I would still leave a 5/5 review.
Had the pleasure of being served by Matias at this store. He was super patient in explaining the work that the bike needed. He was very realistic about options/prices and combined with the knowledge, overall it was an awesome experience. I am very happy with how it all came out! Thanks! :D
Blimey - the quality of bikes, gear, accessories, clothes is second to none.GREAT service too. Remarkable knowledge of all things bikes.A rare shop indeed.
Id like to share my great experience with R&A Cycles. It was my first visit to their shop in Walnut Creek. I corresponded with Andy prior to my service appointment for my Scott mountain bike. In this Shelter at Home time we are in, their procedures for our interaction were well prepared, professional and worked great. They took the time to evaluate my bike while I waited and offered advise moving forward. They clearly have a lot of experience with the brands they carry.Ill also add their showroom is very cool. By far the most impressive cycling showroom I have been in and they clearly have an expertise in current cycling and mountain biking gear. Check them out! Thanks again to the team there.
Dimas fit service is the best...
Love those guys. Mike Brain is the best! Great store!!!
The whole crew at r and a is wonderful i have been there several times for different products they are always nice and help you out right away
They very professional and experienced.
Was rolling through town on the way to the mountains and needed my gears looked at. Another shop determined the rear derailleur cable needed to be replaced, but was booked up solid bc COVID. The guys at R&A saw me and quickly did the work (including a new front tubeless tire). Very professional and service was top notch + great social distancing and a beautiful shop.
Amazing showroom and great staff, coolest bike shop I’ve ever seen
Beautiful new store. Exceptional expertise and service.
