Schedule a appointment in July 2020 to be examined for eye contacts! Front desk representative called me yesterday on October 20,2020 to pick up. Or it will be sent back by the following Tuesday. My 6 months supply box of contacts. Called to ask why did it take so long to inform me. As to why I’m receiving the contacts so late. The representative is acting dumbfounded. Changing my VisionWork location. Unprofessional and unorganized. & Paid out of pocket.

Perfect experience at visionworks here. Tele doctor service provided for eye exams and the on-site doctor was also kind and explained things clearly. Great and friendly staff here too! Daja was super helpful and friendly. She helped me ordering the contact lenses at a good price! Highly recommended.

Daja was absolutely wonderful in helping me pick out my frames and really took the time to help me find what I was looking for. Could not recommend more!! 10/10 customer service and amazing staff. Dr. Sivaguru was very helpful in answering all my questions and explaining my eye health. Daja, the staff assistant, walked me through my insurance questions. She even stuck with me throught some mishaps and made sure I had the best deal for what I was getting. Very professional. I hadnt gotten an eye exam in a few years, but Visionworks on K St NW totally exceeded my expectations! The entire process was very efficient, and everyone was super friendly and helpful. Dr. Siva took time to explain everything to me and was very personable. Sharone was also extremely helpful and very nice, making sure that I got the best deal on my new glasses. Ill definitely be coming back here for all my vision-related needs! 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the DC area.

Unprofessional staff. I made an appointment and filled out all the forms in advance. Rearranged my personal schedule to make an appointment work. 2 hours before the appointment I get a call and the lady says “we may have to reschedule your appointment”. I ask her when will they know and she said the first available is Monday. This is not a “may” this is you “have to”. I can’t do Monday (or potentially anytime for a few weeks… I’m working on that) so I ask why then need to reschedule and she said “cause it’s telehealth”.Now I am thoroughly confused as I 1) didn’t know my eyes could be examined over the phone, and 2) didn’t schedule a telehealth appointment. I told her as much and she said “everyone knows it’s telehealth”. (I’m apparently not part of the everyone group). I try another tactic and ask how my eyes can be examined over the phone and she said “the doctor is on the monitor” this is not a helpful response and doesn’t lend to my understanding. I then asked simpler questions and discovered that I still go in to the office and a tech still does all the normal work but the doctor is not physically in the office.Now that that’s clear (should not have been that difficult!) I ask why my appointment being “telehealth” means the “may” have to reschedule it. She says their system isn’t working right. I said ok, but my appointment is not for 2 hours can you reboot it. She said it’s not that simple and I don’t understand (this later part is true, but I’m asking you, so explain… she doesn’t). I then say I don’t have a date to reschedule to and ask if there is a chance it will be fixed and she said she is cancelling all the appointments for the day. This seems a bit drastic, but ok. So then I ask if there is another location, she said she doesn’t work for the other locations and doesn’t know. (Snippy and rude).The whole encounter was in bad taste. You are changing an appointment made by a busy person due to a technical issue. The situation sucks and is apparently no ones fault. Civility and communication can make the situation better for everyone.I had absolutely no clue, having now also reviewed all communications from visionworks including the confirmation email, it was a telehealth appointment nor that they don’t have doctors in office/on staff. I would not have made the appointment if I did know that due to my own needs. I have participated in dozens of telehealth appointments and have no issue with them, but when it comes to something that requires physical exam, I prefer in person. It should have been clear it was not. I even went back to make a new reservation and see nothing that says it’s telehealth.This experience is incredibly frustrating and while the online appointment process and document submission was perfect, this human interaction and lack of communication were not. I hope this individual gets a bit of training on civility, cordiality, and communication as the patient/consumer is not at fault in situations like these and she is likely telling them something that will impact their day and plans.For knowledge my appointment was for 8/28/21 at the K street location.

This was my first time buying glasses from a Visionworks store. I’m so glad I chose this location. The staff were so nice and helpful. Daja, Donniece, Kelly, and La’Tavia helped me pick out some glasses that I absolutely love. They all made my shopping experience run a lot smoother than I expected. I was procrastinating getting an eye exam and buying new glasses after my vision had gotten noticeably worse since my last exam all the way back in 2009... I was fortunately able to schedule a same day appointment with Visionworks and had a really positive experience.Dr. Sivaguru was very friendly and professional. He explained a lot of topics about eye health and the exam very clear and was able to answer additional questions. The exam itself was also fairly quick.The rest of the staff (Linda, Daysia, and Kelly) were also very friendly and helpful when it came to picking out my frames and getting me checked out. Linda in particular helped me make a final decision on the frames I was looking at - I had originally picked out a pair that was very conservative and plain which would work fine for the office. But talking to Linda, I mentioned that I wanted something professional for work but also stylish and fun to transition to nightlife and the weekends. Ultimately I took her recommendation because I felt they were a better match.In terms of COVID precautions it was very straightforward - they did a temp check on walk-in and had a station to wash your hands. Everything you touch as part of the exam is sanitized prior to coming in contact with it, and when choosing frames you can still try them on but you carry them around with you in a tray until they can be sanitized as well. This does cause some problems with the full selection not being available - but in some ways I think that helps because part of the struggle with choosing frames is the wide variety.

I havent gone shopping for glasses for years because I have such a hard time picking out frames. However, this time was a breeze with the help of Sherone. She was absolutely FABULOUS! I was so impressed with her excellent customer care and informative answers to my questions regarding prices and insurance details. She was helpful but unintrusive, and allowed me to take my time deciding which frames worked best for me. Even on a rainy day during COVID, she had a sunny and positive attitude that made me excited to go shopping. Thank you, Sherone!!!

I went in a few weeks ago for an eye exam with Dr. Stupiansky, new contacts, and new glasses. The service was great and everyone was friendly!Ray was extremely patient with me in the midst of brain fog when I accidentally purchased double the amount of contacts I needed. I felt so badly about her having to redo the entire transaction over but she was so gracious about it! And she even found a cute pair of glasses for me in under 10 minutes - which is always appreciated as I hate shopping in every sense of the word.I’ve been going to another VisionWorks location for years but I must say this one tops the other bar none!Thank you!

Eye love this Vision Works! I went in for my annual eye exam earlier today. Special care is taken to avoid COVID-related health risks: Staff checked my forehead temperature upon arrival, directed me to sanitized hand washing facilities, and everyone was wearing face masks for my protection. The staff are personable, are respectful of whatever budget a person has to work with, and made the experience actually fun. Sharon is the best optical technician, so ask for her! :)

Here is how great these ladies are inside of this vision works. I dont wear glasses! I came with my partner who needed glasses desperately on the whim to see if we could pick out some frames and see what looked good on her. When we got there they took all the COVID precautions seriously and made me and my partner comfortable about our safety. All the ladies made us laugh and enjoy shopping during this crazy time. Sharon, i think she’s one of the techs, she made all the difference in my partner’s first time experience on purchasing glasses. She even gave us free range on which financial options worked better for us and we saved money! If you need some new specs she’s has your back!

Dr. Johnson is top notch. She’s thorough, gentle, and goes that extra mile to help you get the most out of your eye exam. She prescribed reading glasses for me and helped get a particle out from under my eyelid that had been a bother.The location is great and clean. All around great staffing. This place was great service wise. I think there glasses are VERY overpriced, but if youre looking for somewhere to have an appointment with good (and COVID safe) customer service this is a great option.Dr. April Johnson was delightful and very informative. Shes also very personably and receptive to questions, etc.Sherone was great! She was sooooo patience as I took forever to pick frames. I wasnt comfortable trying them on in the store area (which would have meant taking my mask off) so she even let me go to the bathroom. Again she was so patience and checked in on me periodically. Once I discovered how much my insurance would cover I decided to buy online. She was supportive of my decision -- no judgement for time. She even made sure I had all the information I would need to do so. Ask for her -- shes great and has been working in the biz for 20+ years.

Selena was incredibly helpful as I came in with an urgent eye issue. She got me an appointment first thing in the morning, same day, then she was able to help rush order new glasses for me so I would have them over the weekend! She helped resolve a prior issue I had with a rebate as well to help even more. I am so happy with my service today and would absolutely recommend!I have also now seen 3 of the eye doctors there and loved all of them. They were all incredibly helpful and professional, helping to educate me on my eye health more than any doctors I have seen before.

I work a lot, so I do not get over there much, so they are usually busy in the evenings when I do, especially at the end of the year. With patience and understanding, you always get great service. Visionworks really works! Dr. April Johnson is one of the best optometrists in the area. She is professional, thorough, and considerate. Dr. Johnson remembers a lot about previous visits, and she provides services based on individual needs. Still, since many people will spend more time in the waiting area than the actual doctors office, the personnel is extremely important. Sharone is great! Well, that is an understatement. She is the best at what she does. She is welcoming, attentive, and detailed oriented. In her care, you can relax and trust her judgement. With the two of them, I will continue to be a repeat patient.

I had recently just gotten back from traveling and had lost my glasses and was having serious headache without them. I was so worried about my work week and quickly called the team at Visionworks and W-O-W. They were so kind and accommodating that I even called before my appointment to notify them that the buses were running slow and they made sure to prioritize me because they remembered I had expressed the day before that I was having headaches. I was in and out within an hour ( it took longer because I couldnt decide on frames-- there were so many to choose from!!) Long story short, I was out the door at 12:30 PM and was walking back to the K street location at 2:30 PM to pick up my glasses.I couldnt recommend this location more and will be back next January for my 2021 pair. Thank you so much to Sherone, Cecil ( apologies for spelling!!!) and the rest of the team for making my work week so much better. I wish all businesses had this level of expertise, efficiency, and kindness. Visionworks is lucky to have this team on their side and I am grateful that they are in DC.

My experiences in dealing with this place have been first rate. Been coming to them consistently for the last 5 years. They always provide speedy service, theyre patient with me while I look through their selection of glasses until I find the pair that I really want. Theyve even hooked me up with prescription shades which was really neat. Have no complaints about them whatsoever and will continue to come back to them. Hope that helps.

First time coming to Visionworks and overall the experience was very good! Sharone did a super job explaining my benefits and what would be covered and even helped me choose a pair frames. Nice selection of frames. They said all the work should be done within 2 weeks but it was completed sooner. When I went to pick them up I called and said I was running late (store closes at 6:30) however they told me they would still be there and could let me in. Great service!! I love my glasses and the progressive lenses prescription is perfect! Thanks

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. There is no sense of professionalism, accountability, or focus on customer service at this location. I went in to get an exam, I was told to change seats literally 4 times by 4 different people just to wait for the exam. After the exam was done, I attempted to order my glasses online. So I called for assistance, and I was told that I could only purchase frames online, which is doesnt make any sense. Why would I be able to upload my prescription if I cant order online? So I called back to get clarification on what my insurance allots for frames, stood on hold for 45 minutes, only to be told, shed call me back. (she never called back) and I mistakenly did not get her name. So when I called back in of course NO ONE had any recollection to anyone being on the phone for that long that day. So I call the next day, tell them the whole ordeal all over again, and guess what she did? she said shed take care of it right away, put me on hold, then FOUR DIFFERENT PEOPLE ANSWERED THE HOLD, only to say oh sorry Im not sure who youre holding for. This place is A JOKE. and I really hope an entire new staff is hired. Ive been going to this place for years out of convenience for my work, but I will NEVER step foot in this awful excuse for an eyeglass place. (by the way the actual doctor is extremely professional and very nice)

Let me start this review by saying that Selena Hairston, General Manager of Visionworks, is the best! We had traveled from Brooklyn NY to DC for the weekend and my son forgot his contact lenses and glasses. Without them he’s as good as blind. He has a very special prescription so Selena suggested that we contact his doctor in NY to have his prescription emailed. She was able to provide us with trial lenses for the weekend. We had called a number of local opticians before finding Selena at Visionworks, but nobody really wanted to help. Thank you Selena for your professionalism and for saving our weekend!

I have not typically been lucky with eye doctors and subsequent prescriptions. After paying over $1,000 for glasses and contacts at a competitor, I switched to VisionWorks. They have a lifelong fan in me after two amazing visits. The customer service is phenomenal. One of the associates remembered me from last year, even down to remembering details about my professional life! The rest of the associates were charming, engaging, and very witty. The optometrist was Dr. Khong, who had great a great rapport with me and quite easily made conversation. She gave me good news about my vision and didnt waste any time. The payment process was painless and I was out of the store with new contacts in an hour flat. I cant say enough good about this store after a lifetime of mediocre experiences elsewhere.

BEWARE CUSTOMERS! Never getting my glasses from here again. Bought two pairs and it took one month for my first pair to be delivered and it took THREE months to get my second pair because their labs kept messing up my glasses. The glasses were sub par. Now I’m getting headaches. Will go back to my old eye glass place.

Dealing with the staff here has been the most frustrating experience ever. I was initially told my glasses would absolutely come in a week, easy, but that they were required to tell customers to expect up to 2 weeks. But, to reiterate, glasses never took that long. Fine, no problem. I call after 9 days to check the status and someone tells me that they are not in yet, but that theyre en route and will be in the store no later than Saturday. Cool! No problem. Kind of irritating to have been mislead but Saturday will be the 2 week mark.I call Saturday since I havent heard anything and not only do they not receive shipments on Saturdays but my glasses didnt ship until Friday. So I was lied to. Again. Cool. I was going out of town so I requested an ETA but they couldnt give me one. They told me they would call me back within 2 hours because they had to check to make sure my glasses werent in the store (yes, even though they told me that they were not. So did they lie to me about them not being there or did they actually not check that they were in...?). Of course no one called me back at all. I call again 4 hours later and ask to speak to the manager and she is very nice and apologetic and says they wont come in before my trip but shell have my glasses shipped to my house so that when I get home they are there and shell refund me part of the cost, which was very nice and accommodating of her.Well guess what. The staff received my glasses, read the note about shipping them to my house, and just chose not to do it. I had to call for a fourth time to find out where they were. So here I am, still no glasses, but at least Ive had my point about the employees at this location being completely incapable of communicating truthful and accurate information really solidified. You could not pay me to use this location again.

Heres a little background on me - I recently noticed that my eyesight was getting worse, things in the distance started blurring and I felt like it was time to finally get an eye exam and potentially glasses. So while on a work assignment in Buffalo I figured Id get this both done because it would likely be faster and cheaper than NYC.Eye exam - this was an easy process, I called ahead one day prior and they had plenty of availability. I arrived earlier than my appointment time and they tried to accommodate me. The doctor I saw was an older gentleman who was excellent, he addressed all my concerns and was really caring.Nice employees who try to work with you - however the pricing here was surprisingly more expensive than NYC because they try to push whatever lens they have on hand onto you. My insurance normally covers $130 for frames and an additional 20% off anything more. The frames I found here were a generic brand for $100+, the sales person offered a thick Crizal lens to go with my frames and the entire thing came out to $148. Meanwhile in NYC I was able to get a pair of Raybans originally priced at $204 with Crizal Advance lens for $107.....Additionally -They dont carry many designer frames, I remember seeing 3 pairs of Michael Kors, some Vera Bradley and Nike.... no luxury brands like Prada, Tiffanys or Tom Ford and nothing from Rayban. They were willing to order Raybans for me but the styles were very limited to what was in there system and the system had no pictures lol

This location was fine when I visited them until I asked that they mail my receipt to me a few months ago. You would think it was rocket science. I spoke to someone on the phone who agreed to do it, and weeks later still hadnt received it. I decided to write on their Facebook page to follow up. A few days later, someone named Arthur Crownover, the District Technical Manager contacted me and promised to have this location send the receipt in the mail and said I would receive it in 2-3 weeks. Guess what? That was back in October of 2015 and today is March 9th, 2016. I followed up with Arthur Crownover via email 3 times, and he has ignored all 3 emails. I decided to write on their Facebook page AGAIN yesterday and I see that they ignored my post, so I went ahead and deleted it.When I contacted them the first time about wanting a copy of my receipt, I asked if they could email or fax it and they made it seem like that was totally impossible, so I said regular mail was fine. It doesnt take months for something to arrive in the mail, and Ive spoken to these people twice with the promise that they would send it. Because this location has decided that, I dont know...they dont feel like sending it and continue ignoring me, I will be posting this review everywhere I can.Simple customer service is really not that hard.
