Brought in my Ford F-150 for a tire balance and front end alignment. Made an appointment online and dropped it off. Paid around $150 for the service. Drove my truck and had a worst shake then I had before bringing it in and the alignment was still veering to the right. I checked each rim there was no signs of balance weights. I called and ask for it to get looked at it again they said they were to busy and to bring it tomorrow. I scheduled another appointment for 10 am on Sunday and dropped my truck off. I never received a call saying it was ready so I called cause I knew it was close to closing time and they told me that they didnt get to it and that I would have to leave it with them over night. Now its Monday and called once again cause I didnt hear from them. I picked up my truck and the alignment is still out and still has a shake from tire not being balanced.also left the cab of my truck dirty with grease.I do not recommend bringing your truck here .

Set appointment. Had car dropped off. Corey called me with muffler work that needed to be done. All done, back to quiet and nice prices. Thanks guys! @irvinet

Poor communication throughout their team!Brought my Hyundai Sonata in today for an inspection. I ended up needing new tie rods, an alignment and driver side headlight fixed. I was told it was going to take close to two hours, which I didn’t mind waiting. Appointment was at 11am didn’t end up leaving till 1:30pm. Which again I did not mind but come to find out my car was sitting outside, work completed for 45 minutes before I finally went to the front desk and asked when my car would be ready and the staff member said it’s been complete since before he went to lunch 45 minutes ago. He said someone was supposed to tell me it was ready. Wasn’t too upset because I only ended up waiting a little over two hours. Once I got back to my residence however my headlight was out once again. Now this got under my skin not sure if they put an old bulb in or never they never even bothered to fix the light properly, but according to NYS law it is required to have working lights throughout the vehicle to pass inspection. I am definitely not pleased with the service I was provided, something needs to change or I will not be bringing my car here for service again.

My van needed exhaust work, an inspection, and something was wrong with the frond end of it. I took it in early about an hour after they opened and when it was on the lifters they told me the price and I asked how long it would take. Thinking it would be a couple days, it was done by 6pm, like promised. Very friendly and nice service place. Im not from NY so I wasnt sure about to go to fix it but I will return for future work and certainly recommend Mavis Tire Discount to anyone! Thanks guys for doing such a fast and great job!

I showed up with a exhaust leak from the flex pipe going to the manifold on my 2009 sonata. I was able to look at the break when it was on the lift,very helpfully and informative. The mechanic did a good temporary fix for me since I couldnt afford a new pipe at the time. There waiting room has cable tv with a nice LCD tv. Plus the a.c.was great..I would recommend them to anyone who asks.

Good service. hard workers. no complaints..it takes time to repair a vehicle. McDonalds has a drive through. I dont want anything done fast on my vehicle. I want it done right no matter how long it takes...I trust my vehicle and I must trust the people who fix my car..these guys work very hard for all customers.

I have been going to the shop on State St. in Watertown for at least 15 yrs, always treated the way a customer should. Im always told upfront what I needed and they are good at what they do. Keith is the guy that works on my truck most of the time. I highly recommend Stans shop to anyone.

Let me preface my comments by saying I hardly ever fill out a review or speak up when I receive poor service but I feel I was treated so poorly by employees at this store that I need to say something in hope that no one else has a bad experience like I did. On the morning of January 27th 2021, around 8:30, I called the State street store to see if I could drop off a loose tire on a rim that had been losing air. I asked them to check it out and I would have them put a new tire on it. They said no problem and sent a confirmation email. The day went on and I heard nothing about the status of my tire. I was hoping to pick up the tire on my way home from work and called about 30 minutes before I left the office. The man I spoke to said nothing had been done about my tire but asked what brand I wanted and gave me prices and I acknowledged which one I wanted to buy. I was told it would be done in about 30 minutes. I waited and arrived at the store around 40 minutes after I spoke with the person on the phone. I went in expecting to pick up my tire and was told they had just put it on the tire changer and it would be another ten minutes. I was not happy. I received a halfhearted apology from the assistant manager and said they had one tire guy who they were training. I said I could not wait any longer and paid for the tire asking if any money could be taken off or if I could get a coupon and was told that nothing could be done. I was very angry paid for the service and went home without my tire. This shop has signs all over expressing how Mavis believes in customer satisfaction well this store did not live up that mantra. UPDATE: I did receive a call from the regional manager who was very nice and apologetic but only could offer a voucher for future service instead of a reduction in my bill. I turned down the voucher as I have no interest in going back. That is why I selected two stars instead of one.

Called that morning for a NYS Inspection, was told to drop it off anytime. I dropped in off around noon and it was completed by 1:30. I picked it up very polite and professional service!! Awesome turn around time!! Highly Recommend!!

Wife got told she needed all new brakes a rotors because she Failed an inspection. We brought the vehicle to the dealer and they brought me into the shop and showed me that the brakes were still good.

Took my car in for a state inspection, over the phone they told me I didn’t need an appointment but when I got there they said that they do usually require one however they took me anyway. I left my car and they told me about how long it would be and that they would give me a call. Travis called exactly when he said he would. Unfortunately the car wasn’t going to pass but they let me know everything that needed fixing, they had all the parts and could get it done the same day. I headed back down at the end of the day and they were just finishing up. As soon as I left I could hear and feel a huge difference in my car! Thanks for keeping me safe on the road!

I want to thank the crew here for taking such good care of my daughter and granddaughters. Although they only needed a small nail hole repair, my daughter had to deal with a 7 and 1 year old. Mavis set them up with LEGOs and took care of the tire at a great price.Being a military wife with a husband in S. Korea, and me (daddy) being in Texas it really helps knowing that theres places like Mavis who I can trust to take care of my family.

I have taken every vehicle that own and have owned to this location and the staff have always taken care of all my needs, concerns or worries. They have always been courteous. I enjoy the atmosphere that they provide while Im waiting for my vehicle. I dont mind the wait As long as the work Is done correct and with quality which i never have a complaint, its always above par. The MANAGERS there always give me a good deal. It was straight forward service.Took my car in for an inspection and was told what need to be fixed.

We have used Mavis multiple times in the past and had great experiences, so of course that’s who we called first when we needed some things fixed in my husband’s truck. After this last experience, we will no longer be using their services. Our vehicle was kept much longer than anticipated with no communication from the business (supposed to receive on Tuesday and was not done until Saturday) so we didn’t know what was going on. The manager avoided my husband and was non apologetic. They changed the price multiple times even with us having screen shots of the original price. I am just super disappointed about having to find a new place to get work done!

My appointment for an oil change was at 330pm it’s now twenty minutes to 5 and I’m still sitting here!! I used this place for other stuff years ago and refused to come back cuz of slow service but stupidly decided to give them another chance 😒staff is friendly but slow and apparently over book themselves

They offer a fair price but sometimes are a little shady. Even so I would still recommend them they do good work and their prices are fair. Just keep your wits about you and do your research.

Stan and his team are incredible! Miracle workers. My car had a laundry list of things that needed to be done, and I feel like I have a brand new car again! Runs like the day I drove it off the lot! It didn’t even cost me a small fortune like I was afraid it was going to. I highly suggest taking your vehicle to them if you haven’t already. You’re in good hands there :)

Im embarrassed to say the least but I went here to get my snow tires off and I wanted them to balance the tires as well. Well, there was some miscommunication, and I mustve agreed to tire alignment, not knowing theres a difference (Im a dumb@$$)..anyway, when it came time to pay and I explained there must have been a mistake, I got a massive eye roll (totally justified), but when I got home and saw the bill, they did not charge me for alignment. Im a student and Im furloughed so this made a massive financial difference to me..thank you! The bill was less than what I usually get from Walmart too. Would obviously recommend.

Got my tires changed out. While doing that, the mechanic here said my brake pads and rotors were bad on the front and back. I informed him that all my brake pads and rear rotors were actually replaced a month ago. He doesn’t say anything more about the pads and rotors, but says that both wheel bearings on the front are loose. I denied the work and just asked for the tires to be changed. This place is sketchy. Hard to find good shops that’s for sure.

I was there from 10:30am until 4:55pm to get my tires changed... They didnt have the tire in stock, I made my appointment online and specified the tires... My appointment was at 11 and I had to sit around in Watertown for 3 1/2 hours just until the tires got there. A phone call would have been nice. Would not recommend. And my tpms light came on in the dash on the drive home.

I have been with them a year now, ive gotten oil changes and tire changes from Mavis and have not had a single issue from them, their customer service is great and so is their mechanical skills.

Will never go again. Got an alignment done in January. It should of never been done because my tire rods were bad. They never told me this and did the alignment anyways. Called them and Stanley said to bring it in and they would do the alignment again. So we bring it in and wait a hour and they finally bring my van into the shop. After waiting another hour my van is finally done. I leave and notice its still pulling, worse then it did before I brought it in. Stopped at another place in our way home and showed them the paper they gave us and they said that they only tested it never did the alignment. So now Im out about $100 from these ripp offs and have to pay another $100 to have it done

I came to Mavis Tire with a short notice requirement. I need my rear brakes pads and rotors changed. They completed the task quickly and professionally. Sales representative was knowledgeable and respectful. Most definitely will recommend Mavis Tire.

I spoke with Travis on the phone Saturday to make an appointment for a state vehicle inspection. He said come in on Thursday by 4:30pm. I asked if they needed to take my name down, he said “nope, just bring it in.”I show up Monday 15 minutes early, of course they ask me if I have a reservation. They then blamed it on the other store and said that they were out of toner for their printer. They rushed me out the shop. I’ve read reviews and apparently I’m not the only one this has happened to.Go somewhere else. Waste of customer time.

Original appointment was for new tires but they discovered front brakes were bad. Showed me the problem and gave me the option and estimate to have them do the extra work while the vehicle was on the lift. Spent more time and money that day than I planned on but it was well worth it. Great place to have work done on your vehicle. Knowledgeable, courteous staff and quality workmanship. Highly recommend.

The service is amazing, the atmosphere is nice, the people are so friendly and have an awesome sense of humor while still remaining professional. I never have to worry about them attempting to overcharge or add things on that dont need to be replaced. They will beat competitors prices if at all possible. They are the only place in town I fully trust with my vehicle.

Never been so well treated at an auto repair facility. Took my Ford F-150 in hoping to sneak it past inspection. The folks their took an hour checking it out thoroughly then called me in while it was up on the lift and showed me where the frame was badly rusted out. When I learned how much it would cost to get it through an inspection I said I wouldnt put that much money into a truck that old. They said fine, suggested where I might get the best trade in value locally and then when I asked what I owed them they said, no charge, let me pull it out for you! Highly, highly recommend!!!

Its rare that a company truly goes above and beyond with customer service, and so Id like to highlight my recent interaction with Mavis Discount Tire as an example of the right way to do (and keep) business.Last week I had Mavis install four all-season tires on my new car (which came with summer-only tires). When I washed the car the next day I noticed damage to one of my rims, and was reasonably upset. No one wants someone else to put the first scratch on their new car. I called corporate and the representative took my information and said someone would be in touch... well, typically, this means your complaint has been placed in the circular file.Imagine my surprise when within the hour I had a call from the Northern NY regional manager promising to repair or replace the rim, whatever it took to make it perfect. Almost immediately afterward I got another call from the local store manager to set up a time for them to look at it.Today they had the rim professionally repaired and it does look perfect, I mean exactly as good as new. I cant even tell where the damage was. Zero cost to me, and courteous service the whole time. Every business makes mistakes, but most dont handle their mistakes this well. Mavis Tire on State St. in Watertown, NY is strongly recommended.

Had an appointment at 11:00 for an oil change and tire rotation. My vehicle was finally “completed” at 3:30. Caught lying about the services being completed. Assistant Manager Chorey was short with me when confronted. Said his techs just simply made a mistake. It’s hard to believe that when they had to put the service into the computer for the bill. Acknowledged the service was not performed. Took my keys and had a tech start the service. Never apologized. Very shady business. Avoid at all costs.

Was told to wait 1 hour so they could have a look on my car. Hour and a half later I go to the desk and they said they were just getting ready to get my car in. 2 hours later my car still sitting outside there goes the free time I had today. I wouldnt be mad if they at least updated me on why it was taking longer, so I could decide if I had time to wait. But they just let me sitting down waiting for nothing.

The staff - from the manager to the mechanic who worked on my vehicle were courteous and prompt. My issue was fixed with a minimum of fuss. The price given to me was embarrassingly low, given the work done and the response time. I have no doubt a trip to the dealer would have cost me at least five times as much. When the crew noticed a possible separate issue outside of their scope, they were happy to recommend a local mechanic they trusted.I wholeheartedly recommend these guys to anyone!

Quick, easy, & affordable!

I brought them my car because the muffler was hanging off of it. The told me they needed to replace the muffler and mid pipe, about $300, because the muffler was in warranty. The service was decent. But when I brought it back because I suspected a fuel leak, they sent me elsewhere because they dont do that. Understandable. But the the guy I took it to brought me under my car and showed me where the frame had rotted through in 2 places, the engine was leaking oil all over, and there was a coolant leak. He said there was no way this car would pass inspection, NO WAY MAVIS SHOULD HAVE PASSED IT IN AUGUST, and begged me not to put my kids in such an unsafe car. He then sent me home without charging me a dime, knowing he was turning down money on that car. So, somehow, Mavis installed a new exhaust system, and failed to notice the rotted frame spots, right next to where they were working. Why? Because it would have lost them work. They are dishonest, and they put my kids and myself in danger.

I had a flat tire on my trailer and Mavis tire was across the street and got me right in and I would recommend them to anybody. The staff and employees were excellent to my needs of getting my trailer home.

I took my car here because I needed to get an inspection. They told me drop it off and they would try to get to it before they closed. I dropped it off and went home. A couple hours later we get a call stating the windshield wiper and rear brakes were bad and the car would not pass inspection. My husband told them there was no way, he just put the windshield wipers on that day, literally right before we left to drop the car off and they worked fine. So then they start telling him the brakes are bad and the calipers are completely seized and quoted us almost 700 to completely replace the back breaks. We demand they show us because the breaks were done a couple weeks before hand and everything was fine. So we go in and they take us back and show us the brakes. The guy points to the caliper on one side says its completely seized. My husband tells him its not then he tried saying well the brake pads are worn too much. He is told that we just replaced the brake pads not even 2 months ago. Then he goes on to say that he doesnt think the brakes are safe and cant pass it. We tell him fine, put it back together and we will get it taken care of. Then we ask about the windshield wiper. The guy said it was just a little bent and thats why it wasnt working but he fixed it. Well I sent my husband home and stayed to get the car. It took another 20 mins just for them to put the tires back on. While I was waiting the guy brought out a paper and gave it to me. I told him I didnt need it, I already knew what was required by NYS to pass an inspection and had the list. He said that I needed to see it pointed to the section on the rotors.The very next day I took my car somewhere else and it passed inspection with no issues. The mechanics were confused on why I wanted to get my brakes checked because they were just fine.

Called and they said they could fit me in for an inspection. Waited awhile upon arrival, which was expected. Finally took my car in and said it would be about 15-20 minutes.. After 40 minutes of waiting theyre still not done with inspection.... Theres 4 guys working and only one other car there. These guys really need to learn how to manage their time/actually get some work dobe. I appreciate squeezing me in, but if I knew it would take that long I would have taken it some where else..

Great service. They messed up and didn’t mount the new tires on the aluminum rims in the backseat but made it right and just called it $20 cash for the tires mounted and balanced

I went in for a muffler delete on my ram and my tires rotated the delete turned out great and it took no time at all for the tires to be rotated very happy with the work great shop and bunch of guys to do business with will be back for future work on my truck when needed

I have been going here for years. I have suggested many people to come here as well. It seemed that everytime I would bring my vehicle in for something they would find other stuff wrong. I recently had some work done and come to find out that the work wasnt even done. When I picked the vehicle up I got a weird vibe as well as the workers were acting funny. I brought the vehicle to another mechanic and he stated that there seemed to only be some work done to it not all that I paid for. I went back to simply as ask them to do the work that I paid for and I was kicked out and told I was not welcomed back.

Did my vehicle inspection and told me to replace the wrong wheel bearing. Took it back for my reinspection and then told me the other one. They did not care at all or try to make their mistake right. Will also be filing a complaint with NY DMV.

From 0800 to 1730 I was in the shop to get work done to my wifes vehicle, and through out the whole time, I have never seen the amazing amount of work and time these guys put in to getting a job done to all the customers that came in. Jason the assistant manager here was outstanding and so were the mechanics here on June 3. I will definitely come back to get more work done if I need to because these guys are 100% good at what they do. The only thing I would say is for these guys to get more help so that 1 guy would not be working on 5 cars at one time, so they wouldnt get so over worked.
