Just got back. Bad experience.First, I had a 3:00 appointment to have a tire replaced. Check-in and was told that its going to take hours. Huh? Shrug at the rudeness, leave and come back. 1:40 later the car is ready.Next, the price I was charged! $290 for one tire! I had a heart attack. I had a tire replaced in January elsewhere and didnt remember paying that much. I protest and they offer to take $25 off. I accept. It took another 10 minutes to have the credit put back on my card.Just got home and checked my records. Sullivan Tire charged me $215. And that was a great experience. Friendly and professional. What you would expect. Go to Sullivan. Avoid Direct. I certainly will in the future.

Always liked this place and it’s people, but suspect they’re undergoing a period of transition between former and present ownership. It’s also possible they just need to hire more people. None the less, I allowed two hours per my experience and their suggestion as I waited for a recent seasonal tire swap. It took nearly four to complete the job. Very disappointing and really disruptive of schedule. Hope things improve in the shop area because the folks out front are very knowledgeable and highly motivated.

Very professional very friendly competitively priced top-of-the-line installers and sales people… ALSO.. I moved to New Hampshire recently and was unable to store my daughters tires winter tires in the garage… I cannot find a tire sales / service place in New Hampshire… which offers a service like direct tire… Where they store the winter tires in the summer and when you make an appointment in the beginning of winter they take them out and install them on your car and store your summer tires until spring… From this point on I think my Massachusetts daughter can take care of her own tires!… with the help of Direct Tire that is! 😃👍

As always in the past, my experience at Direct Tire was superb. Susan was most accurate and efficient, as usual. Much as I miss Barry and think of Penny often, I am very happy with the transition of responsibility to Bob Lane.

Have gone to Direct Tire a few times now and always had a fantastic experience! They are professional, educational (in a non-patronizing way which I found happens a lot to me as a female where mechanics assume I know nothing), and great at expectation setting. They will often times send you a text with a video explaining what is wrong with your car and then when you call to discuss next steps, do not pressure you into purchasing or doing anything you arent sure about. They also welcome ALL questions.Most recently, I had a leak in my tire - they thought it was the TPMS and replaced that but turns out, that did not stop the leak. When I brought the car back to have it re-inspected, they ended up finding the leak and offered a full refund for the TPMS service since they recognized that was a mistake on their end. Mistakes can always happen no matter where you go but its how you recover from those and I thought they handled the situation perfectly. I worked with Susan Sutherland who was wonderful! It could have been very easy for them to say you could have gotten a puncture in the tire after you left so not our problem but they did not.To add - from a pricing standpoint, I did shop around just to make sure I was getting the best rate and they actually came in lower than the 3 other mechanics I called.10/10!

Called at 1:32pm on a Friday to see if they could get 4 tires done by the end of the day.. they had desired brand (Michelin) and size in stock for my town car. The car was ready in 2 hours and 4 mins from the initial call seeing if they could do the job. I was impressed at the professionalism and efficiency that Bob and his team provided.

I ran into a problem with a blown tire and even though they were booked up Sue got a replacement tire same day and had me come in late that day.Talk about a great concern for their clients. I have been and will continue to be a long term client.

My boss was on family business in Boston he had bad control arms on the his car. Ms.Susan was professional and friendly, the technician was competent and explained everything. The price was more than he wanted to spend on the trip but was reasonable for the work. They also gave him a loaner car to use while they worked on the car. Most shops try to upcharge when someone with money comes in needing help,this was not the case with them all the work was needed and corrected the problem. We would recommend Direct Tire for any of there services.

I have been a happy Direct Tire customer for over 20 years and they always treat me/my cars very well. This time they backed up their tire guarantee even though Sullivan Tire refused to do so.

I needed 4 new tires on my van and after multiple quotes that were astronomical I took a chance on Direct Tire. Adam and the entire staff were thoroughly attentive and professional. I got a video of my car so I could see everything they did. I had never experienced that and was really impressed. I will be referring them and continue to support this locally owned business.

Heading to another tire retailer for a full set of tires tomorrow. First time not buying from Direct Tire in about 35 years. Had an issue regarding a discontinued line of Nokian tires on my sons’s car. Zero support from Direct in dealing with Nokian. Big difference from past excellent service and support. Unfortunate.

I made an appointment online for 1:00. I was driving there and received a voicemail at 12:51 just asking me to call back- I thought they were confirming. When I arrived 1 male worker was on the phone and 1 female worker wasnt doing anything but would not help me and told me I would have to wait for her coworker. When he finally asked me if he could help I told him I had an appointment and he just said yes I tried to call, we are too busy and cant help you today. Doug- his name, didnt really even seem to care. I will never go here- EVER. Worst customer service. They need to shut down their online reservation system if they cant take the appointments.

I tried two other tire dealers for the tire I was looking for with no success, called Direct Tire and the associate was able to find my tires and set up an appointment for the following week. Very professional and very safe with regard to health protocols.Advisor met me outside, took my keys and went over the work to be performed. They sent a video of the technician explaining the work I needed and showing the repair to my tire. They sent a text when the car was done and the adviser met me outside again with my keys.Best service anywhere.

I took my car there for a rusted heat shield and it was one of the most seamless experiences Ive ever had at a repair shops. I dropped off my car early, which was extremely easy, and then they called me and texted me to tell me my car was done, and sent me a video of what they did. It just felt like a really nice considerate touch, and I will definitely be back for any future car repair needs.

Their website allows you to book at the half-hour (e.g. 1030) except they only do booking on the hour. When I showed up for my appointment, I wasnt in there. Not a huge problem, but why does the website allow you to do that? I asked to be rebooked for next week, so they adjusted...or so I thought. I showed up and they said I wasnt in there again. Apparently, whomever I spoke with put me for two weeks out. The response was taht I shouldve called to check that my appointment was still good... They still fit me in that day which I was grateful for. Come bill time, I was charged $90+ for an oil change. A little pricey in my opinion, but oh well; needed it done. But also, they specified that I should get a video report from when they do a quick inspection of things and I didnt get that this time (I have in the past). Anyway, long story short, the service was subpar this time around... Not sure Ill be back.

Excellent service. Did not have specific appointment time for same day but asked me to drop my car off and they would try to get it aligned by 5pm. I received a call to pick up the car at noon.Was my son’s Jeep which had just had major suspension work done for off road use; not simple adjustment. Not only is the steering dead on perfect but they also provided a computer rendering showing the before and after calibration. Most informative and reassuring.5 stars, highly recommended

Purchased tires from them, but they didnt inform me about protection plan. So when I needed a tire recently, I had to pay another $300 for the one tire. Talked to them after the purchase and they offered the protection/road hazard plan. Typically, the plan cant be purchased after buying the tires, but they accomodated me and my family.

You cant actually step inside at this time because of covid-19. So theyre keeping the customers healthy in that respect but it makes doing business with them very difficult. The prices for storing winter tires are pretty high. Close to $20 a month. But its still a great place to buy tires, and they will rotate your tires for free which is very nice.

From the minute I called Direct Tire to 7 hours later, when my car was done— the employees were nothing but nice, caring and explained everything in depth! I felt so incredibly comfortable! I can’t wait to go back.

I was given a clear estimate up front. Instructions for leaving the car were very clear. When I arrived, someone explained that half their staff had called in sick that day, so my repair might be delayed. The engineer who did the work texted me the link to a video in which he explained an additional problem he had found (oil leaking into the piston area) and showing the spark plug with oil on it to illustrate the problem. I OKd the additional work and was able to pick it up the next day. This was my first time with this business and I was very impressed. I also discovered that if I reserve it ahead, I can get a loaner so that I don’t have to rent a car while they do the work.

I was a little concerned at first because I had been told over the phone to pull up in front and wait until they were ready. I pulled up in front and was bristly told to move. Sue was running the show and didnt have time for newbies. After I found a place to park things got better. Sue, very efficently collected my keys and double checked which tire I wanted looked at. There was plenty of seating outside which I very much appreciated. The public WiFi was awful but other than that I really enjoyed being outside and watching the customers come and go as Sue managed the whole process. Everyone else seemed to be long-time customers. Before my car came out I had a video texted to me with a technician explaining what he did and what the problem was after doing an overall safety check on the car. I couldnt watch the video because of the WiFi connection there but was very pleased with it when I watched it at home. I was very surprised when I got my receipt back as nothing was mentioned about the amount when Sue collected my credit card. My surprise was how little I was being charged for the solution to my problem. I had taken the car to a different place in Lexington where they kept the car for a full day, did not solve the problem and charged me exactly twice as much as Direct Tire charged me. Direct solved the problem, showed me in a video exactly what the problem was, only took any hour and charged 1/2 as much. I will definitely be back to Direct the next time I need tires.

Well executed operation during covid. Had my twice yearly tire swap done from their storage. Outside, pick up an envelope and a supplied pen and fill it out. Leave key inside the envelope and put in slot. Easy. Hand sanitizer right there. Got a call later saying it was done. Picked up car in adjacent lot.

My daughters tires blew out while we were on the highway. We were able to limp into Direct Tire one hour before close, and we were miles away from home. Even though they had a full schedule, and they were looking forward to finishing their day, they took care of us. It turns out we needed new tires. It was an old car that we had purchased from a friend, and we neglected to do this earlier in our process. They had a heated trailer out back that was sectioned off so that my daughter and I could sit inside and stay warm and safe despite Covid, and they took care of the car within one hour. Honestly, I don’t have a real way of telling you that this service was above and beyond, but they were very thorough, straightforward, wrote everything down, and made it so that we could make it home. I am grateful.

I was able to use the website to find exactly the tires I wanted. I then called the shop to schedule an appointment including tires and brakes. They provided detailed estimates in an hour or two. At each step, they contacted me to verify exactly what I wanted. Once I received the estimate via email (as I requested), I contacted them and scheduled an appointment. As they didnt have the tires I wanted in stock, I had to wait two days before the appointment. They offered a loaner at a very reasonable rate, and then were done with the work by 5.30pm. All work is good, a proper status report was provided upon pickup, and the cost was within the estimate.Was a great first experience with them. Will definitely be going back.

My collector car was treated very carefully. They took off their belts, put a paper floor mat down, covered the fenders and wore gloves. Very impressive.

The work done was very good. It was disappointing that the tires did not arrive in time for my appointment leaving me without a car. What was originally a 2 hour service ended taking almost 2 days. Fortunately, Direct Tire has loaner cars and I was able to get one so I could get to work the next day.

These guys are amazing. I go to them for car maintenance as well as tires. Theyre happy to spend extra time answering questions or discussing options, and theyve explained what to look for with maintenance problems or tire issues. Theyve never tried to upsell me, and they always go over all the options (and prices) without pushing me to agree to anything.The one complaint I have is that they often run over time. But they have a bunch of complimentary loaner cars and theyre flexible with picking up after hours, so its not much of an issue.As a woman, its great to work with mechanics who educate instead of talking down, and who treat me the same way I hear them treat men. Ive never been blindsided by prices, unexpected maintenance, or extra labor costs. Better than any dealership Ive ever gone to. Theyre slightly more expensive than other mechanics in the area, but completely worth it.Keep up the great work, guys!

I have my car serviced here all the time and am happy with their service.However, as a health care worker, it was disheartening to see so many employees in (and 1 out of the garage) without masks. It seems like a slap in the face to all essential workers.

These folks are always super friendly and accommodating. I initially tired to get my car dealership to repair my tire, and they made me feel like it was going to be a big hassle for them to give me an appointment within a 3 day window. So I called DT. They were super flexible on scheduling. The communication was great, and they charged me only $45 for the repair.

Direct Tire not only provides completely fair and professional tire service, they also do very good work for general car maintenance and repairs. They are very reasonably priced compared to dealerships and are honest and straightforward in what your cars needs. I highly recommend a Direct Tire and have used them for many years.

I have been a customer at Direct Tire for about 10 years with good reason. I have always had a good experience, regardless of location. I recently damaged a tire that required replacement. The tire is no longer current and Direct Tires guidance to the closest suitable replacement was extremely helpful. This particular brand is not one of their usual brands but they were able to quickly and competitively provide the tire and made sure that its placement on the car was proper to minimize any effect of a single new tire versus three that were well broken in. I am very pleased.

Brought my car in without an appointment. Adam (one of the technicians) came out to help me promptly. Someone stole my rear plate with mounting bracket, and I didnt have the ability to fix it myself. He took care of it in a few minutes, and no charge. Great guys!!

Weve been getting our tires for a long time at this location. Very happy in general. Wish they could have stayed on time with their appointments (car was brought in at almost 2 hours after our actual appointed time, frustrating). Otherwise service was good.

They obviously know what they are doing and they take the time to explain everything. Over the years they have notified me (I had forgotten) that I had tire insurance, and they have told me what I could put off and what I needed to do right away. I trust them.

I have a long standing history with Direct Tire in Watertown and I have only wonderful things to say about Barry and his team/staff. I have become a valued part of their community and I feel that every time I go there. Extremely good service from the staff, paired with a really good account management system. Small things like when you go the first time youre sent a contacts card to add to your phones contacts, as well as a video showing what things the mechanics are checking on your car each time you go. So smart! Ive been so impressed with the customer service experiences; I bought brakes from this location and then they needed to be replaced again during the first year and I didnt have to dig through old receipts to prove anything, they just had on file that the brakes were still covered. Fantastic. I will definitely continue to bring my car here.

They scheduled my tire swap quickly. They said it would be done in 90 minutes and it was. They even sent me a video of my brakes and shocks showing that they’re in good shape.

Despite the current shut down they have a good system for drop off and pick up. Car was done quickly and I’m glad they were able to stay open during this difficult time. Always done right and always prompt.

I really appreciate that direct tire changes my snow tires at no additional charge. Everyone is really nice, and the prices are reasonable. This visit, they didnt close my hood all the way, which I only noticed after getting onto the highway, but I think its designed so that it cant fly open anyway.

I have been going to Direct Tire since at least 1994. You can drive a lot of miles in all those years. The only tires I have purchased since, NOT from Direct Tire were factory installed on a new vehicle. Another shop would have to just about give me the tires for free to switch from these guys.From Barry Steinberg (owner) to the guy changing the tires they are courteous, professional and knowledgeable. They always point out safety or maintenance items without a hard sell and honor a warranty without question.I know Barry may tire of this story but its a customer service win... For many years I drove a Subaru with the newest (lousy) way to attach hub caps.... one time they replaced it... not quite right... lost. Barry replaced it the next day. When another went flying on my way off the lot on a subsequent visit, Barry opened the hubcap book and said pick a new set on me. No more flying hubcaps.Customer for life.Thanks Barry and Crew.

I am never returning as a customer and certainly not recommending the place to anyone; here’s why:I scheduled a visit 3-weeks in advanced for two cars that needed a winter tire changeover. From the get go, the person I talked to on the phone said “we’ll make an appointment for just one of the vehicles but we’ll do both”. On the day of the appointment I drove for about 40 minutes to the place and they received both of my vehicles. I waited around for for one as they said the first will take two-hours and the second will be ready at the end of the day. The first one was ready as promised. At the end of the day they called and said “ sorry we ran out of time and we will not do the tire changeover for the second vehicle; come back to pick It up”. I asked to speak with the Manager (Andrew) explained the issue, just to get confirmation that they would not be doing the changeover.

As always, the store gave an honest assessment of the issues with my car. And the store turned my car around - mounted winter tires and new brakes - pretty fast. I would like to see the check-in process return more towards normal in terms of entering the store.

I needed a place that knew how to take care of my car the right way. I had recently purchased a Honda Civic Type R and due to the large front brake calipers and modified front suspension, this car didn’t use typical Honda Civic wheels.I went to another place and they didn’t have this car in their books and they were basically going to trial fit wheels. I didn’t feel too good about that so I called up Direct Tire and spoke with Andrew and he put me at ease as he knew exactly what would fit on my car.Andrew was very professional and very knowledgeable. I felt very confident that I would get the right wheels and snow tires for my car that wouldn’t compromise performance and would be Of proper fit. And the price at Direct Tire was within $100 of the quote given by a local discount tire chain so this was reasonable.This is the first time I have had my car serviced there and I’m very happy. Given the cars they service, such as Porsches and Mercedes, I knew they were of reputable service and the price was reasonable. I’m very happy with my experience there.

Newish to the area I didnt have a tire guy so came to this place by recommendation of a friend. Walked in expecting the professional yet still a bit cookie cutter we have become accustomed to. What I received was a professional yet personalized service that was once more common with mom and pop locations. They could have easily sold me a new tire north of $150 but instead assured me they could repair what I had and it would be just fine. $25 dollars later they have secured themselves a loyal customer for the foreseeable future. My first visit. Went in for a front end alignment on an unusual car before a racetrack day. Shop was frantically busy, but appeared very well organized. Alignment was the most accurate I’ve had and the printout of the before & after numbers was appreciated. Keep up the good work!
