Beautiful art and setting. The building is lovely and well cared for. Highly recommend visiting!
Take time to read the descriptions below the beautiful original paintings and you will understand what inspired Terry to create each one. The stories behind the paintings are as inspiring the paintings themselves! Terry Redlin was an extremely talented and yet humble man.
A must see, even if you are not a fan of wildlife art, you will surely be amazed in what this museum offers. Much more than just paintings on the wall. A gift shop, antiques, and an amazing landscaped garden outside and and even a movie theater, starring Terry Redlin himself. Be prepared to be WOWED and be sure to schedule time as you could easily spend an hour or more there. The best part...... its FREE admission, the last time I was there a few years ago.
Oh my goodness, what a beautiful place inside and out. A must stop if you are in Watertown. South Dakota.
Love the Redlin Art Center! This is my 3rd or 4th visit. The employees are all so friendly & seeing all of the amazing art was wonderful! Will come back again!
Beautiful and award winning architecture at the Redlin Art Museum, which contains many of the late Terry Redlin’s original oil paintings. Bought two nice Redlin scenes on stained glass at the gift shop today for my home .The landscaping on the grounds of the facility is Heavenly. Receptionist was very nice too.
What an extraordinary place....absolutely worth going to...looking at all Terry Redlins paintings, just made you feel like you were literally in each one...you could just feel the passion in each one.
Awesome history there! The lady at the desk was very informative, and friendly. Loved walking by and spending time!

All that, coupled with friendly and knowledgable staff make for a fantastic experience. Did i mention it’s completely free? This is what America is all about. Someone who built himself up, made great wealth, and gave back to his community for others to enjoy. Truly a beautiful place for the family or individuals.
So cool, we own one of his pieces of art, it was so fun to learn more about him and his passion for art, what a beautiful place to share his art work.

A free memorial to a wonderful artist just off the interstate freeway for everyone to enjoy.
Deserves 10 stars. This is a quality stop on your journey thru South Dakota, or even worth a trip just to visit by itself! Take your time and enjoy the historic story of how Terry began his legendary career in art, starting at a young age, through the accident that changed his life, and into the latter years where he funded the building of this art center with his own funds. It is an absolute monument to what makes America the greatest country in the world to live in.
What a wonderful art museum to spend a cold and rainy day in! People are so friendly and helpful that work there. From the greeting to the final sale, theres nothing better!

We have appreciated Terry Redlins work for a long time. Mr. Redlin was a local Watertown artist. 150 of his original works are housed in this museum, which was designed by his son. It sits on several acres of parkland, ideal for outdoor weddings, photos, or other events. Some of the buildings are available to rent for this. Mr. Redlin had the museum built to house his works as a gift to the people of Watertown. Therefore, there is no admission fee.Guests are free to wander among his works without an escort, and read the descriptions that explain his inspiration for the piece. Guided tours are also available. He has done several series and my favorite is the America the Beautiful series. There is also gift shops where many of his works can be purchased. They will ship to you if you cannot take the piece with you. Weve done that twice and are very pleased with our purchases. Everything arrived in pristine condition. Ordering can also be done from his website.Elevators are available for wheelchairs. If you are from the area, you might recognize several local scenes. But even if you are not, come and enjoy this wonderful place and the slice of Americana that Terry Redlins art is.There is plenty of parking and the restrooms are lovely.
So rude. And unprofessional, they need to teach their employees some mangers ::when someone is asking a questions and requesting information to answer them in a professional manner not sarcasm
My favorite site to visit. Great quality first time spent.
Fantastic collection from one of the greats. Nice clean environment. Plenty to choose from in the gift shop

Sorry to say we drove 125 miles on Sunday to visit the center thinking it was open from12 to 4 as posted on the website and the entrance but found it closed. Would like to know why. Have visited before and really enjoyed it. Think Redlin is the greatest artist of our time.
A must see if you are anywhere near Watertown, SD. Its free admission with over 160 original paintings. Incredible tribute to one of the best wildlife painters of our generation.
Love it! Hope they still have the kids scavenger hunt.
Free admission, beautiful artwork and numerous items in the gift shop. We enjoyed our visit very much!
We were blown away by the sheer number of paintings. It was very interesting to see the artwork from his childhood, all the way to his last painting. He had a talent that amazes me. Plan on spending at least 3 to 4 hours.
This is by far one of the best art museums I have ever visited. It houses most of his best works as well as some of his early works that are rather crude compared to what he is known for. Also houses drawings sculptures and various other items of interest. Excellent experience all around. I will go back some day
The pictures were so life like it made us feel we are there
Beautiful place to visit.
Wonderful place to visit.
Absolutley beautiful!!
Awesome, FREE experience!
We watched the short video explaining his life and his art. Then walked thru looking at all his art thats on display. His art is amazing. I love his use of light and how three dimensional his art is. It almost looks like you could step into his paintings. A must see if youre in the area. Free admission, so theres no excuse for not going. :)
Beautiful facility that stands out as you drive through. If you like wildlife or are from the Midwest, you must stop. The art created by Mr. Redlin is very detailed and moving. It brings back many memories of where I grew up. I will return.
The Beautiful pictures, the very helpful person that greeted us at the front door. The Amphitheater put it all in perspective on what kind of a man he was, n what he really cared about. Great...
Amazing experience. I really didnt know what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised! BEAUTIFUL paintings, amazing talent. I would definitely go again if in the area. A must see!
It is an unbelievably awesome stop to visit the art center. And there is no admission fee ever!! Staff was great too. Wonderful place!!
