I had a situation where I lost the air conditioning in my truck over a weekend and was desperately trying to find somebody in the Maggie valley area that would answer their phone on a Friday afternoon or over the weekend or I can make an appointment for service on Monday. I called over 10 places nobody answered their phone and thankfully I just happened to call Appalachian automotive at 6:30 on Sunday night Ryan answered the phone and was so great to talk to about my problem. He explained what he thought the problem was even though he was coming back home from a personal weekend away and said I could bring it in there at 8:00 Monday morning they would find a way to diagnose a problem and get it taken care of. I got to a shop at 8:00 on Monday morning he greeted me with a smile got my vehicle in there and within 2 hours had a diagnosed fixed and had me back on the road. I couldnt be happier and more impressed with his service professionalism and friendliness and will not hesitate to recommend them to anybody in the Maggie valley area eating any kind of automotive service or repairs.

These folks provide top notch service to your vehicle with first class concern and communication. Upon arrival with my disabled Escalade the owner greeted me with a true concern for my dilemma and proceeded with multi point inspections. He was well versed in options that he explained and gave me a true feeling of being at the right place. I recently used this auto repair facility for an alignment. They were very busy so I had to schedule an appointment two weeks out.I brought my vehicle in on the appointment day and they were able to get on it that day and found an issue with a new cam bushing that was incorrectly installed by another shop. They ordered a replacement part which arrived 2 days later and it took an additional 2 days to get it replaced and a realignment .The work was done professional and Ryan is very professional with customers.The only two reasons I did not give 5 stars is;1) It took longer than expected due to multiple situations2) I wish that the feedback on my vehicle was more proactive from this shop. I felt I was having to constantly call to get information or updates on the status of my vehicle.I will continue to use this shop in the future because they do quality work. Even though they are very busy which can cause time constraints and scheduling issues. They are doing a great service and being busy is a good sign that they’re reputation and integrity is very high...Thanks Shannon

Already knew vehicle was leaking oil and that the vehicle needed an alignment. Dealership wanted a significant and unreasonable amount to just clean and look for the leak. Appalachian Auto crew are professional, polite, respectful. They completed my oil change and cabin air filter change quickly. Confirmed for me there was an oil leak and cleaned the area and performed the necessary maintenance to identify the problem all without over charging, like the dealership was going to. All maintenance needed on my car will be done by this company and the crew that works there.

He is really honest and seems to take great pleasure in making sure his customers really understand whatever issues their vehicle may be having. He showed me what the issue was with our vehicle and could have made a lot of money fixing it, but recommended against it. It is difficult to know what to do if you don’t know a lot about automotive so that really built my trust. It is how I treat my patients - lots of explanations and pictures, and recommend what should be done as well as what could be done, even if that means nothing. Prices are reasonable as well. First of all I love cars and love keeping older ones on the road. A windstorm cracked the sunroof on my 1996 Toyota Avalon. Since its a pristine car with only 80K miles I wanted to have it fixed. Fortunately, I found a sunroof speciality company online and ordered the glass. I called, I suspect 20 places, many body shops and auto glass places and none of them would take the job. Then, Appalachian Automotive was recommended to us. We’re new to the area so we hadn’t established a relationship with a shop. Ryan the owner was polite, knowledgeable and his communication was excellent. He delivered on the replacement in the promised time frame. And get this, he had his technician perform a gratis 25 point examination fo the vehicle. When I drove onto his lot I saw the United Nations of cars, vehicles from: the UK, Italy, Germany, Korea, Japan and Sweden. I also own a 42 year old British sports car. I asked Ryan if he was experienced with Triumphs. He quickly said “yes, I’ve worked on a number of them”. For me this is proof of a great shop! Broadly experienced, attention to detail and excellent work.

I made an appointment with Appalachian Automotive to have my front rotors assessed. The process was easy and on the day of the appointment, they were able to get my car in early. I ended up needing front brakes and rotors and they were able to change them same day and do everything within 1.5 hours. Great service and professionalism.

My wife and I were visiting the area for a few days when our van’s AC starting making a loud noise that shook the whole interior dashboard. We called Appalachian Automotive and they diagnosed the problem right away; it was a mouse! Sure enough, we saw one hanging around on the car. When we checked out our car ourselves, we found out the air filter had been chewed through and a lot of the battery insulation had been ripped up to make a nest.We took the van to Appalachian Automotive the next morning and they fixed it within a couple hours after their previous oil changes. They were courteous, professional, competent, and quick.Thank you guys!

I have a 1988 560SL and Ryan’s team went over it with a fine tooth comb, as requested. It runs and drives like when it was “New”! They replaced a number of things and were very fair. Some of the parts were not stocked any longer, and Ryan found them, and I could tell it wasn’t easy. In Waynesville from out of town and developed a radiator problem (bad leak) and had a fairly urgent need for my car. The folks there could not have been nicer or more understanding. Got the new radiator and popped it in. I was back on the road in about 1 1/2 hrs. Great, great service.
