Awesome performance shop. The team is passionate and extremely capable / knowledgeable.Marcus helped me create a reliable 400whp 05 STI. It has been over 2 years since the work was completed and car is still rock solid.During the build a bunch of weird existing issues were discovered with the car including incorrect and leaky valve covers, the discovery of different pistons (surprise compression ratio) that did not match paperwork from a previous engine build and a brand new injector dynamics injector that was defective and would randomly alternate between getting stuck open and stuck shut only after warming up - a very strange problem that would leave most tuners and mechanics scratching their heads for weeks.None of these issues were the fault of Gear One Performance (the engine work was performed by a previous owner and the ID injectors were purchased full price brand new), but Marcus expertly navigated this challenging landscape and patiently addressed all issues the right way with very little adjustment to overall timeline and cost.I am grateful for Marcus and his team and look forward to future business. They are the best mechanics I have ever met or worked with.I promise I won’t ask them to finish someone else’s project again :)

I took my Porsche 997.1 C2 there for the installation of third radiator, water pump service kit and RSS crank pulley. There were a few setbacks due to parts issues not related to GearOne Performance. But they pulled through and didnt charge me extra for the work they needed to do. Great shop.

I admit that I dont have a lot of car knowledge, but I have been to many mechanics. I took my car in for a checkup and a realignment on two separate occasions. The staff were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and didnt try to throw unnecessary maintenance onto my bill. They also offered very affordable pricing options that wont break the bank.

Ive been taking my old WRX here since I bought it. Great guys, very knowledgeable, have always been honest about what needs done and what its going to cost. I recommend these guys to anyone looking for a performance shop in this part of the state.

Update 4.19.17Gear One Performance did it again! So I am updating my post from 9 months ago. So my motor blew... and we were all stumped as to what happened because it was running great for a year! Apparently we had a one in a million case on our hands. We had a defective bolt installed on the timing belt tensioner from the earlier job and it finally gave out... The motor was destroyed and Gear One Performance fought until the bitter end with the bolt manufacturer! They kept me up to date on everything! The manufacturer wanted to drag things out and mentioned that they would really only compensate for the faulty bolt when all was said and done. This is where Gear One Performance shined bright in my eyes. They told me it would be approx. $2500+ to fix the car... but that they would go as far as to install it for free and pay for half of the motor to make things right! That to me was incredible! And to add compliment to recovery (opposite of insult to injury, haha) they gave me a free transmission oil flush along with a few other treats on them. They took a bad situation and turned it into some kind of wonderful! They have my business for life and my Subaru is back on the road running better than ever! There is something to be said about someone who rights a wrong in a glorious way like Gear One Performance! Youd be a fool not to give them your business! I do most all my own work on my cars, however occasionally there are certain tasks that I do not have the tools or experience to complete so I need assistance from a shop. I have been to many shops over the years, but never found a place that I really felt comfortable leaving my car in the hands of until GearOne. GearOne is run by like minded enthusiasts who have real world experience building, maintaining, and racing cars in motorsports endurance races. My first visit to GearOne was with my track car for a precision alignment and tire change (stiff sidewall R-Compound). Their attention to detail was incredible and in addition to providing a very precise alignment, they were able to offer setup advice based on their real world racing experience. I have been back many times now for various jobs and could not be happier. As someone who works on his own cars, I am very picky about letting other people work on my cars and I am very happy to have found GearOne. I would highly recommend them to anyone for anything from the basic daily driver maintenance to setup and care of your race car.
