Very happy with the overall service provided by Universal 1.When we submitted a claim for a broken dryer through our home insurance, Universal 1 was assigned to the repair. They contacted us within a day to schedule a virtual triage with a tech the next day. The tech on the virtual call was friendly, helpful, and was able to quickly diagnose the problem.While the turnaround time to get the replacement part took a bit (I presume due to the pandemic), as soon as the part came in they scheduled the repair a few days later. Mike the technician came out, and was also very friendly, showing me what he was fixing & why. He completed the work in less than a half an hour and the dyer was back to working.
They had appointment for us on Sunday 8 am to 12 am. I wonder how they work on Sundays but I got up early and was in my living room. I got message as 8:20 AM that technician left, he called and no response. We never received any call, no knock on the door, we have 2 cars in driveway so it is common sense, someone in house. I immediately called back the number, left VM 3 times a day, no one picked up or called us back. When I read reviews, almost everyone has same results. Stay Away .
They are a scam. They are made up with the insurance company (American Home Shield). Keep away from them if you dont want to waste money and your health. They drain your sanity. I have been without a dishwasher for 2 months now. The payments are done (insurance premium and $75 service request fee), but I will never get a functional dishwasher. If you wanna save money, keep away from them. 2 months without a dishwasher so far and they keep blaming something that they have used parts for so they dont have to actually repair/replace whatever the real problem is. You will go insane before you get anything fixed. I guarantee that. Keep away and youll save yourself a lot of money, headaches, long waits on phone calls and your health in general.
Terrible. At the last minute, 5 minutes before they were about to come, they refuse to service us because my daughter is an ICU nurse that works directly with covid patients. I was offended and felt discriminated against. If all protocol was followed, (they insisted I wear a mask in my own home which I was going to oblige) they kept their distance, washed hands or wore gloves, the area was sanitized, there should be no reason why they can’t enter my home while my daughter is tucked away in her room upstairs in a large home. For 11 months, she’s been dealing with this.taking care of so many people and their family members and has not contracted Covid at all!! Sorry, but these contractors need to “man up”. And, this is the second time they’ve done this to me. I didn’t realize they were also assigned through AHS months before for another appliance. Then they tell me that AHS asked me if I had someone in the home exposed to covid patients. That’s just simply false because I used the online service request feature. They made the appt with me directly and never asked me anything about covid. Good luck to them surviving through this pandemic if this is how they operate! I I see they have a terrible rating. Maybe this is why.
They will not answer the phone ever and the voice mail box is full and they dont call back when they say the will
The girl who answer the phone was very nice she was very helpful and friendly she helped me schedule a repair for my fridge the girl that answered needs a raise I recommend the shop the tech was really nice and if I could rate them a 10 star I would
One star because the tech was polite. They were sent by my warranty company and blatantly lied about how my washing machine broke. The warranty company of course denied the claim. After chatting with someone from the warranty they sent someone else out who clearly knew what they were doing and my machine should be fixed any day now. This company wants the $$$ from the visit but not the repair. Reading these reviews makes me wonder why they are even being used which I reported to AHS. I have called them to speak to someone numerous times and nobody will call me back. Extremely unprofessional and also no website or social media is shady!
We were pleasantly surprised with our experience with Universal 1 Repair. This was part of a warranty company repair to our freezer handle. After several visits with out being able to attach the handle, they ordered an entire new door. We have had some pretty lousy service over the years but this was our first encounter with Universal 1 and they did a great job. Thank you.
If I could give 0 stars I would. The woman who answers the phone for dispatch is RUDE!!! The company is unorganized! I was given a window between 12-4 and received a phone call that the technician broke down and we had to reschedule for the next day during the same time window. Although I waited all day I agreed to reschedule.Fast forward to the next day. I received a text saying the tech was an hour away when in reality he was at my front door. He called and I was in the bathroom but assured him I would be right there. He left before I reached the door. After calling dispatch back, she told me he waited for “7 minutes”!! I am livid because I have been waiting for 2 days for them!!! It doesn’t make sense to send a text with a false time frame and to show up without disclosing that the tech will leave when he wants and without having a standard wait time policy!!! Unprofessional and Unorganized!!
I was assigned this company from American Home Shield. Repairman came in looked at my dryer and told me I needed an electrician because the dryer was not directly in the outlet. Turns out that was not the dryer he looked at it was the washer. Parts for the dryer repair were delivered to the company on Friday, 6/12/2020. I called Monday, 6/15/2020 and explained that according to FedEx tracking, the parts were delivered and signed for. Universal 1 called me back leaving a message saying they had not received them. So did Fed Ex lie or did Universal 1 lie?
Stay away from this company. They do a lot of work for home warranty companies and in my opinion, its their goal to get you denied with your Home Warranty Company. They came to my home recently and all the technician was hyper focused on me writing his review., not the problem I was having. In fact, he didnt even touch my appliance tio check it out. Just listened to what I told him the problem was. Yet, he told American Home Shield of my problem, which was normal wear and tear, and that I caused the problem. And then I got denied of a claim. Universal One Repair didnt even call me back to tell me the status, meanwhile they told me that I would hear from them the following Monday. Instead, they just left me hanging. I didnt like the technician either. Hes demeanor doesnt come across well. Additionally, this company is hard to reach via phone. They dont return calls on the same business day. I dont recommend them.
Used this company as part of AHS home warranty. So I had no choice. They Misdiagnosed same wall oven problem 3 different times. Replaced main oven board twice and that was not the issue! I was without working oven for 2 months. Finally Had Martin’s appliance come out, cooling fan was ordered and repair made in a week. This company is clueless.
Had these guys out as part of a home warranty company. The tech was not friendly from the minute I open the front door through the entire Service call. Literally pushed on button on my fridge and said he new what the issue was even though I told him about two different ones. Never checked anything else and told me I’d have more issues down the road probably. Didn’t seem interested in fixing it. Only a 5 year old fridge. Warranty ended denying the repair and I considered utilizing them for the repair vs buying a new fridge until I found out what the parts they filed with the warranty company vs. what the their office said I need fixed where different. That seemed shady and with the attitude of the service guy.....I decided to buy a new fridge and avoid the hassle. Would not use them by choice.

Home warranty claim. They came out, confirmed coverage, ordered parts and within a week fixed the problem.Update - Same dryer issue started again 30 days later, found out the warranty company was charged for the replacement of 5 parts when only 1 part was actually replaced by the repair company.Universal 1 Repair is telling AHS they replaced multiple parts on their first visit which never happened.While my 2nd issue could be totally coincidental and non-related there is the fact that this company did not perform the service they claimed while charging the warranty company for work that was never done.Use them with caution and be sure to keep an eye on them when service is being performed.
Waited all day for technician to show up. Got a text while I ran to the train station that the tech was leaving Upper Darby, no way did he get to Aston within 20 mins at 4 pm. Anyway asked dispatch if they could wait 10 mins. the women said they would wait 5 mins. I said please wait 10 we waited all day, she again said we will wait 5. The tech waited 4 and husband passed him coming out of our street. Unbelievable. You wait all day for them and they cant wait an extra 5 mins. They should wait an extra 15 at least. If this wasnt through AHS I would never use them and the women who does their phones is rude and will eventually be the downfall of their company.

Warranty company assigned them to look at our fridge. Took them 4 days to submit a report and order the part. And we are left without a fridge for 10 days with 2 kids at home. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate.
Stay away!!! Scam artists!
