I can honestly tell you that my husband and I had the best breakfast of our lives. Everything was just the best. Thick bacon and their omlettes r out of this world. Not only that but their service even during this hard time was the very best. Beautifully decorated and super clean puts this place as number 1 in our book.
We love this place, love the atmosphere and the taste. This time I did not like what I saw: termites in the syrup, wacky-wacky water tap and not the state of hygiene in the women restroom at all. One of the exit was bungee-cordedβ¦ what do you think what will happen in an emergency?!?And please donβt bring out the drinks without the straw, almost the same as you bring out the food without silverware.
Food is greatService was wonderfulFirst time at The Classic Diner!I had breakfastFrench toast and thick bacon..coffee was Lavasa brand
This restaurant is amazing, gourmet style food and impeccable service.
Exactly what a traditional diner should be. Excellent food and service. No nonsense. Reasonable prices.some of the best coffee Iβve ever had anywhere.
Its small inside and the place has the feel of an old house thats been turned into a diner. The menu was breakfast and lunch. They close early. Right next to the VRC animal hospital. Loved the food.
Looks like a stylish take on a diner. But this is NOT a diner. It is fine dining quality food set in a diner setting. Staff @ breakfast is super friendly. The food quality is excellent and the portions are very generous. The prices are a bit high for where this is located. But it is certainly worth the visit.
This was the best diner Ive ever been to bar none. The food, service and interior were all amazing. This is truly diner food done to perfection. Everything was delicious and when the bill came, the price looked no different to any other diner Ive been to. If youre thinking about breakfast. Stop here. Dont even think about going somewhere else. Really, dont even entertain it. Everything tasted as good as it looked and it all looked great.
The bacon was exactly as billed - fantastic. We went with the simple eggs and bacon breakfast. I liked the potatoes, but they were a little bland. I think maybe a little more seasoning would have upped the ante.My daughter enjoyed the avocado toast, but had similar issue with the potatoes. The staff were following COVID protocols well. Guests were spaced out in the restraunt, and staff wore masks, and cleaned tables promptly as guests left.
The food is great. The service is inconsistent. The server was nice the first and only time I saw her. She never came back and no one was around to ask for anything. We had to go to the counter to get what we needed. I tipped because of course I did, but I sort of didnt know what I was tipping for at this point.
The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were huge but pricey. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The set-up is very tight but I guess its pretty common in the Philly area. Most of the good diners and restaurants in this area are very tight in space and loud. Iβve learnt itβs more of the area culture and when you live here it definitely grows on you. I will be going back here more often and I highly recommend this diner for anyone who wants to eat delicious food and have a great dining experience.
Delicious! Everything Iβve ever gotten from here has been fantastic. More expensive than your average diner but well worth it.
Food was exceptional, portions were good, employees were very friendly. Accommodated dietary needs perfectly. A little spendy, but you definitely get what you pay for and I would recommend.
The food is good but their management is poor, especially for larger groups this not the place to go to. They just keep you pushing back and fit smaller groups first even if they are way behind in the waiting line. May be they should consider expanding their area or something to fit more people.
Definitely going back. I really liked my food, but also found myself having food envy looking around at everyone elses plates. We ordered the american egg breakfast, French Toast and a BLT sandwich. It all looked and tasted good. Yes my envy took over and I tried a little from everyones plate βΊπ
Very good food and service...They were very busy but food came out fast..
Simply just a great place for breakfast. Just ask any local, even our relatives who live 20 miles away from this place know of this place (we were in from west coast for a wedding & just by chance saw this place on our drive to the hotel).
Great food, Great service. Had an omelet, home fries, and toast. Delicious.
Good food. Slow service
I love the classic diner @westchester and wish to be at each one of these around the city !Just like the other location, Malvern is a cozy and a homely feel being served by a family....loved the waffles and the juice, Benedict which is a standard brunch order for me and my boyfriend. Amongst all the places been, we love to go to diner back for the taste and the experience :)
Loved the food, aesthetic, and service. My mom also loved it, and she greatly appreciated the 80s music, but her salmon was a little too salty. We still had a great experience overall, though.
This diner was packed to the brim with customers waiting (standing almost on top of seated guests). Granted a lot of their issues stem from being incredibly short staffed from the pandemic but it should be known that they βdo not respect reservationsβ so expect to wait upwards of an hour after your βreservationβ. We left before being seated because of unrealistic wait time for our attempted visit 6/2021. Cannot comment on food quality but hopefully gives you a sense of how to budget your time.
Very good fare of the diner genre. Fast, courteous service and excellent coffee with frequent refills (a critical diner quality). Highly recommend.
If you like sitting in a hall way this place is for you. They only have 1 way in and out for some reason the one door is locked. Everyone has to walk pass you coming and going it was worse than sitting next to the bathrooms which I never did but I now know what it would be like. I asked to move not once but twice I have allergies to lavender and smelly people and there were a lot of them there. The food over priced they should visit a real Diner home fries are NOT a whole potato sliced up and than deep fried. They also nickel and dime every little thing. NO diner charges for onions and peppers on home fries and they cut them up This place does not cut up the onion and peppers there in stick formation. Waitress didnt bring out the scrapple I ordered but that was ok because it was like $7 charge. If you would or could get Covid any where this is the place it was so tight. Six foot distance thats a joke with in six feet you had 7 tables 14 people . Should of left. Why didnt I leave ? Next time I will listen to my stomach and head oh yes the 50 people walking past you the whole time you are trying to drink cold coffee. So as you guessed we will NOT RETURN!
My family and I came here to celebrate a birthday in our family. The food was very tasty. The service was great. However, it was a little cold inside because of the flow of patrons in and out. Also the womenβs bathroom does not have a locking mechanism so youβre forced to hold the knob to ensure no one walks in accidentally.
Three of us dining in and each ordered a different menu item. All were delicious and plated well. Service was friendly and fast. Excellent experience.
Great food and service was friendly and efficient. Omelette and French Toast was particularly good.
Large portions. Food was good. Service was good.
Swung by here on my way out of town and was thoroughly impressed. Great service and amazing food. Would love to come back if travel ever brings me back to the area.
Breakfast was great apple sausage was not my favorite
Great food and lovely quaint atmosphere. Portions are very, very generous. Shame they had run out of the steak. Maybe next time...
Lunch was amazing, best Turkey Reuben!
Great lunch ahi tuna club staff couldnβt of been nicer Iβm going back soon
The best diner in the Philadelphia area. The food and service is fantastic. I donβt even like eating but I love eating here
One of my favorites for brunch or leisurely breakfast
Whether you are craving a sweet or savory meal, The Classic Diner NEVER disappoints.
Great place. I love the breakfast sandwich here. The bacon is a awesome thick cute and tastes amazing.
Used to really liked Classic Diner, but food has really gotten worse in the last year. Tried a few times to rule out just one bad luck - but its really worse consistently. Had the crab cake sandwich today, very salty and no crab taste at all. The chips with it were very oily and tasted kind of rancid. Hope things get back to previous glory once Covid is over.
Very nice establishment and friendly staff. Most of the food was very good, with the exception of the home fries which were bland, and the avacado toast which was just an embarrassment. The coffee was excellent.
Very nice place, kind and attentive people and delicious food . I loved it
Always a treat! We made it in a 1/2 hour before closing (whew!) and enjoyed a delicious late lunch from a friendly staff.
Very clean and indoor is well distanced.Excellent breakfast choices by inclusive meal or a la carte. Food was exceptional. Service is cordial and attentive.
Been to this place several times. The last time was it.We went to lunch and asked to sit in a booth the host said no itβs for four people and we sat at a table for two. Several minutes later same host sat a couple in the booth for four people. The waiter took our order only time he came to the table. He never came back we had to request from the host items like a spoon and refill of coffee. I noticed the same host at the station on his phone most of the time and several other employees just hanging out. We finally had to get up go to the register and ask fo our check. The service has been lacking however the food is good.Update 5/28/2020-provided receipt by email and crickets chirp....chirp....chirp plenty of time given the pandemic to get back to me.Update 10/22/2021- never heard back from owners original response. Buyer beware.
Absolutely ridiculous! Staff member tells me my order will be ready in a minute and 35 minutes later its ready!?.Joke!!
This could be my favorite diner anywhere. Neat old house, friendly staff, awesome food - bacon! When were in town for a hockey tournament, this is where I eat!
Stopped for breakfast the other morning. Food plated looks fancy and up to date..food itself was very mediocre to say the least..Ordered a coffee with bacon and homefries.Coffee, I would describe as flavored water. Bacon, dont be fooled by it. Absolutely terrible, nothing but I thick piece of fat, not even tasting like bacon?? AND 4 pieces for $7.50!!! Waitress dropped the bill on the table, but didnt offer any further services. After complaint about food, never offered refund or exchange.Home fries, eh...nothing special, bit most decent thing that was ordered.Bathrooms, absolutely disgusting. They store high chairs right in front of bathroom, barely able to get in and out.Every staff member we came in contact with, not friendly or welcoming at all.Highly disappointed, definitely would not recommend the food, or atmosphere.
Consistent good food and service. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a βusualβ spot.
We were very disappointed in this place the reviews seem nice so we pick them out of a few choices. We just wanted breakfast, we ordered eggs benedict which was mostly hard boiled egg on a hard English muffin and a toasted hollandaise sauce. And a simple asparagus and cheese omelette, that was made with the asparagus and cheese separate from the eggs. Service was not very good either had to ask for coffee from the other waitress and ask for the check so we can leave.
I got eggs Benedict and some coffee. Amazing flavor and not too filling. Really good portion size and I dont usually take my coffee black but this coffee was more than fine to drink that way. I ordered for delivery, and the food arrived hot, 15 minutes before promised. Impressed.
Excellent!! The food and service! We had a large group and they went above and beyond to get us all together! Im looking forward to going back.
Almost everything in their menu is really tasty. Service is great.
The food is excellent. Definitely a good place to eat.
Great food and coffee always
The food is always very good here. The portions are enormous. The service is good. I give it only a four star rating because the seating is uncomfortable, it is almost always crowded, the parking is difficult and it is cold inside during the winter. Can we move to a bigger more comfortable location?
Excellent brunch spot. Highly recommended.
There were not barriers or dividers, but several smaller room. Food is awesome!
Passing through from out of town and I have to say that this may have been the best breakfast that I ever had. Everything was great. Bacon is thick cut and cooked perfectly, the french toast is unmatched.
Breakfast for two ...$50. Nothing fancy, 2 omelettes, 2 coffee and 1 order bacon.
Bacon lovers welcome home. You can even bring some home. Great variety of food and options for sides. Poached egg lovers will enjoy the whole poached egg preparation.
Best eggs Benny around!
Response from Classic Diner was that that are overwhelmed with catering and take out orders so their focus is on that over their face to face customers and in person dining,.We are regulars and used to come here every weekend for breakfast. They are pricey but the food and service WAS worth it. Recently, the service and quality of food has greatly declined. Out of our last four regular visits, we had problems with three of our orders. Orders are mixed up, food not prepared consistently from visit to visit, food and drink served on/in dirty dishes and you can pretty much forget about a coffee refill. They seem to be more focused on their catering and takeout business then serving the customers in the restaurant.
Great quality food. High quality ingredients.
Quaint ambiance and good food.
This place was amazing!! We live in DC, but I will 100% go back if ever in the area. You are lucky if you live close by!
Our favorite breakfast place. Always great quality, generous servings, and friendly staff.
I tried the filet mingon egg Benedict. It was yummy. The hollindae sauce on it was perfect .the potato on the side was thick and well seasoned . Yummylicious experience. My wife had the Norwegian salmon bagel. It was great. The salmon caviar on the egg was perfect: salty and fishy (in a good way) taste . They had three bites of pickled (something) which was a good interim to the taste bud.At the price it offers great quality.Had their pear stuffed French toast with orange brandy sauce. Perfect balance . The orange brandy balances the sweetness.
Classic Dinner is an awesome eating experience, my boy Jon and I stopped by for breakfast after dropping g his car off to high performance automotive
Dont let the name fool you, much better than a diner. Well built flavor and texture profiles.
It is dog uninstall so good 4 stars
Food was average but dressed up to justify price. My girlfriend ordered bacon (3 peices) it was $8 I was mortified
The food was ok but not very flavorful
Luv luv the Classic Diner... itβs located in PA where I worked on a long term project in healthcare. Wish we had this type of diner located near home. It has a great team of staff (waiters, host, cooks), not to mention the menu was unlike a diner offering great specials daily, and home made Apple and Berry pies inPremise. Missing you but great memories I will cherish.
Fresh food and good service.
Home fries were not worth eating.Service is okay.
Always the best! Although Diner is in the name this is more like an upscale Bistro. Fantastic food at a good price. It is consistently excellent!
Amazing breakfast with a very cute vibe.
Great food
Ive heard about this place forever and how fabulous it is. Finally got there. Just average. Food was fine but nothing to get excited about.
Food was delicious, Service was good an overall great experience
