When a company uses a ~20 year old kid to wield the authority to impound your truck, there ought to be someone looking over his shoulder. I have a monthly pro park pass and kept it on the passenger visor. It’s clearly visible from the front of the truck and about 18” to the left of the rear view mirror when viewed from the front. Furthermore, I asked a CT Auto tow driver if that was okay one evening while getting in my truck. He said ‘yes because it’s clearly visible from the front of the vehicle.’ After working 14 hours one day, I find my truck towed from my everyday monthly lot, at 11:30pm in downtown Hartford. I’ve parked in this same spot for a long time. The dispatch said the pass wasn’t on the rear view so there’s nothing he can do about my $180 fee. The kid Jake took pictures to prove he couldn’t see the tag, but only from the far drivers side of the truck, and from about 10 feet away. Absolutely disgraceful predatory behavior.

The people you have working here are lower than scum. My car was towed by them and there was no reason for it to be towed. When I spoke with them they were demeaning and the driver also had his girlfriend with him in the car. Is that even ethical. To top it off, they own two pit bulls and attempted to release them on me while I tried to get my car. I will be going to the better business bureau about this matter. This company needs to be investigated.

Tow driver was so rude and unprofessional. Was driving around with a girl in the front seat and dogs that he threatened to let loose on us if we didn’t pay for our car. The tow was unwarranted and they wouldn’t let us get a word in edgewise . Quoted us one price and when we arrived to pick up car 15 minutes later tacked on another $50 for “storage”, only would take cash. The driver threatened to drive off with our vehicle and not give it back on multiple occasions. This is a disgusting and unprofessional company I would never recommend using them for your towing needs.

Beware!!! This LLC is an unethical establishment. Their towing practices are predatory and have been reported to the west Hartford police station. Consumer should be aware of who they do business with. We paid for parking downtown and they still proceeded to tow our vehicle stating it was paid at the wrong pay station. The person that answered was completely rude and threatened to not release our vehicle because he felt like it this seems to be a regular practice with them they are scam artists and crooks!

BE CAREFUL OF PREDATORY TOWING. Apparently this place is known for that in the area and they are in every single way rude, incompetent and unprofessional. My car was towed incorrectly because I had paid online but the person I spoke to said “I didn’t see your ticket in the window”Umm sir if I paid online how would I get a printed ticket when the location doesn’t have that option. Whatever. I just wanted to retrieve my car and I was told by the guy who towed the car it would take him 30 minutes to get there fine. I arrived to location and 20 minutes after that phone location and decided to just wait but then the 10 minutes became 20 then 30 then 1 hour. So at this point I am somewhat upset so I follow up and was told there was traffic at 10pm at night even though we came from the same way and the GPS didn’t indicate any traffic when I asked for his location and ran that in real time through my phone. In the end it took a call from West Hartford dispatch to get him to actually show up after I was threatened on the phone with him saying “I’ll keep your car overnight” They are money hungry looking to make a quick buck which is really disappointing. I wish I could give them 0 stars but I do NOT recommend having any interactions with this place at all.Also the person who towed my car refused to give me his name.

First time at CT Auto .. These guys went above and beyond their customer service. Very knowledgeable on my concern. Had my vehicle in 5 mins after I arrived. I met Slava thru my son who brought two cars for me from Slava, 05 XC90 and then upgraded to a 2010 XC90. From day one Slava and his associates have taken care of any issues Ive had with both vehicles, from oil changes to changing my tires every six months to daily maintenance I can count on them. CT Auto & Towing is the only place I would recommend my friends and family to come to. They are the best when it comes to any kind of service that I need.

While I walked away from my car for 10 minutes to try and find out how to pay at the kiosk this company towed my car away and it was impounded so I was stranded in Hartford because of this company.

Fantastic service from Casey. I was recommended to go here for my check engine diagnostic and he not only checked my codes for free but explained the possibilities of what could be wrong and offered to reset the code for me before emissions, twice. He helped me understand the problem, not just do the check engine reading, and they corrected misinformation about what parts to buy that I recieved other places. They are saving me a lot of money and trouble with their recommendations. This is all before Ive spent a dime with them. But Ill be getting my auto work done here in the future based on the level of service, knowledge and honesty Ive experienced here. 👌

Mr casey was amazig from the first time i came into his shop. He was attentive and kind and got right to the point with the situation with the vehicle.. *PREDATORY TOWING* My car was towed from the LAZ Parking Capital Lot (10 Ford St., downtown Hartford) fewer than ten minutes after I parked to drop something off for a photo shoot in Bushnell Park. (I tripped coming off the curb and broke my ankle about ten paces from the parking space-- as far as I can tell, the tow truck driver *had to have seen this happen.*) I limped into the park, made the dropoff, came back, and my car was gone. Called LAZ who confirmed it had been towed and they confirmed that my payment hadnt gone through Phoned CT Towing, was told it would be $180, cash only (DOES NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS as per Amenities information in Google & other sites). No Paypal, no Venmo, no other cash apps, no credit cards, physical cash only.Driver was rude, and started adding additional conditions to my being able to retrieve the car-- $25 per 15 minutes he waited for my friend to arrive with cash, $26+ if the car was on their lot longer than 8 hours. Expected me to walk back and forth down the length of the entire business building to get my registration from my car, then to watch him do paperwork then back again-- on a broken ankle-- that he *likely saw happen.* When I declined to follow him all the way to the office and back, he told me to get off his lot or he would call the cops and that theyd escort me off. The drivers girlfriend (?) and her dog were with him in the truck, and she was the one to open/close the locked gate-- and to bring me the receipt and take payment for the vehicle; the driver refused to respond. Incredibly unprofessional. Filing a complaint with Department of Consumer Protection.

I got my vehicle stuck on the sloped lawn next to my house after a larger snow then I thought. They came an winched me out in a short time. Polite over the phone and arrived quickly!

I stumbled across this place because of a recommendation and they did excellent cosmetic work on my door and a really wonderful paint job on my mirror cover. Quality work for a very reasonable price and super friendly staff. I highly recommend this place. Thanks John!

Just had my car towed by them. My car is lowered and they took great care of me by properly towing and getting the car on the flatbed. Excellent job done by them and will call them if I ever need a tow again!

These guys are notorious for predatory and illegal towing. Even if youre parked legally with a paid meter they will accidentally tow your car and try to get you to pay for it even if you show them proof. Very unprofessional, constantly using profanity.

Customer service is above and beyond what most places have these days. Towed my vehicle in for service after breaking down on the highway. Fit me in same day since he had an appointment cancel. I was in and out faster than I thought I would be. Pricing was very fair as well. It didnt leave me broke getting the work done. Using another shop would be doing yourself a disservice!

Horribly rude people. still shaking from my encounter with bob who was incredibly hostile and acted as if he was robbing me at gun point. management needs to screen employees better and make sure they treat people with respect.

I had my 2010 escalade brought in for 3 flats and a fried alternator fuse. The towing was reasonably priced and the driver was beyond professional in dealing with getting a dead car out of a snow filled parking lot during a storm. Repair costs were very fair and the staff was very friendly and professional. Will definitely be back if I experience car troubles down the road.

The short: Took them 2 months to change out spark plugs only to have the car returned with the same engine codes.I took my car out of a local shop to bring here on recommendation. They were nice and seemed knowledgeable. I gave them a list of things Ive done to the car and things that could be wrong and I asked them to focus on the engine codes and the major issues, just give me a call and let me know the costs beforehand.Courtesy call 2 weeks later explaining how busy they were and they hadnt got to it yet. I said no problem but also understand that this is my only car and I need it as soon as possible. I took uber/lyft to and from regular places in the meantime.One month later, they call me and say hey were going to change out the plugs and give the car a wash. Ok sounds good to me, whats the cost? Somewhere between 120-150. Alright go for it that sounds fair (considering plugs cost $6-10 for me to buy and about a half hour for me to change personally). If they think itll fix it why not right?Exactly 2 months later, hey you can come get your car. Go to get my car, invoice is double what they told me on the phone. Drive home, code comes up, check with my code reader, same as before. Called and asked for a refund mostly because I didnt want them to have the car for another couple of months and get it back the same way. Refund refused.If you are going to do business here just make sure you get all the information up front. How long theyll take, the total cost, the process. They do seem like good people but this experience wasnt great.

This company engages in predatory towing in Hartford. They tow cars that pay via the LAZ app (and claim they paid for the wrong lot despite signs indicating the same lot that was paid for in the app). The man towing cars and answering the phone is completely unprofessional and disrespectful. He insisted on only the registered owner entering the office to pay, meaning a female alone without her friend (which is unsafe given this occurred late at night). Because he did not like our “attitude” he at first refused to release my car and threatened to hold it so I would need to pay $23 more dollars for storage (despite the $180 cash in my hand). He made me delete pictures of his DOT number and our altercation, and ask my friend to leave the office (so I was alone) before agreeing to release my car.

I just bought a vehicle from here and I have never had a better experience with buying a car than I have here. The owner is incredible and insanely knowledgeable and helped me with everything. I cannot recommend them enough.

Having just moved to the area & not having a mechanic, I took a chance & brought my vehicle to CT Auto & I am extremely glad I did. Casey did a great job & is very knowledgeable, & best of all did not try to sell me anything I didn’t need. He took the time to explain everything & charges were VERY reasonable.

Completely disrespectful. Accidentally towed my cousins vehicle after the Hartford Yardgoats game. Did not recognize that we paid online .Realized that we paid and finally got our vehicle back after hours. Threatened to call the police even though I was extremely polite. Asked to speak to a manager and was told he was the only person in charge. Be cautious of parking in Hartford and dealing with this company.

These guys are the best, I popped a tire on the side of the road and instead of just taking my money and popping a new tire on, they called to check if I had a warranty (which I did). They saved me a lot of money and I’ll definetly be back.

It’s rare to find good honest people in this world. This shop was recommended by a friend. I took a chance and brought my VW Passat in with absolutely no knowledge of why it wasn’t running correctly. I expected the usual laundry list of issues every mechanic gives you of things that “need to be replaced.” Instead, Slava and Casey explained the simple misfire, and corrected the problem in a timely manner. I couldn’t believe how reasonable the cost was. Car has been running tip top ever since.

There was a confusion about the markings on my guest parking spot and my friends car got towed by CT Auto. We contacted the company and they gave us a full refund. The manager was very nice and understanding.

Towed my car from laz parking Hartford even when i showed paid for it. They use abusive language when you show the proof and tell you come tomorrow for your vehicle even when you are there at their place. Unprofessional and very greedy business.
