First time I have encountered a dealer service department that was rude and completely unhelpful. Took months to get the appointment for today to find out IF the computer updates are not covered under the warranty there would be a $100 charge. The updates are coming from Hyundai. When I set up the appointment, I remember the person was rude. Think it was the same person this morning. Very frustrating! Maybe be a haul, but looks like I need to find a different Hyundai.

I have owned 4 vehicles from Hyundai. The sales dealers are always great, but of course they are because they are trying to make a sale. The service department on the other hand, after you purchase the vehicle is a joke. I dont even know why I still waste my time there. I recently purchased a 2021 Pallisade. Although the dealership offers 3 years of free routine maintenance they fail to tell you that you have to book your appointment 3 months out because they are so booked you cant get in. By the time you get in you are over your mileage and of course they charge you stating they are not flexible on the mileage. My vehicle also less than a year old didnt pass state inspection stating I must have hit a pot hole because there was a bulge in the tire. Lastly, Ive had my windshield replaced 8 times in 1 year. EIGHT times. When I inquired about defaults with the service department I was told that they dont have any complaints on windshield issues, however when you Google issues with palisade the first thing that comes up is a law suit with Hyundai over quality concerns with Hyundai Pallisade... needless to say after several hundreds of dollars down the drain in services, I will not be purchasing another Hyundai vehicle or at least not using this dealership.

My 2015 Hyundai was having engine trouble. It was rattling and it was reving when I drove it. My husband drive it, same problem, and my teenage daughter noticed it as well. I brought it into the service department. I was told nothing was wrong. They drove it 27 miles. I asked if they could run diagnostics because something was wrong. They told me the car is ok. I explained I knew something was wrong I had bought it brand new and it had never done this. Adam explained once again they drove it 27 miles and it was fine. I begrudgingly went and picked up the car. As soon as I started it my engine was rattling but my hubby said lest just take it home and take it to another dealership. Today while driving along the highway with my two children, the engine made a HUGE pop noise and completely died. It wont start or run, smoke was billowing out. A wounded gentleman helped me get safely to a dealership. I called Hyundai and Stephanie answered. I explained my disappointment. She once again said we cant be responsible for what happens a couple days later, we drove it 27 miles and nothing was wrong. I asked why were diagnostics not ran if a customer knew something was wrong. She stated, because the first step is repeating the probelm. We clearly the PROBLEM was missed. Now, Im stuck with towing and a bigger problem. Super disappointed, stay clear. 😒

Where Williamsburg Hyundai would not match the Carmax quote, not even considering it for more than 2 minutes, HALL Hyundai not only matched the quote but had a car for us the same day. Negativity from Williamsburg you bet almost everything we asked about was a no or it couldnt be done, whereas HALL Hyundai said yes to everything. Then the insult came when talking to the salesman on the phone and him hanging up before I was finished talking.I had an issue with Williamsburg Hyundai two years ago when trying to purchase a car. I let it go and tried again. This time, done.

I went into Williamsburg Hyundai needing you buy a car that day. I knew Larry from browsing for cars last year. Knowing I was anxious about making a quick decision, he was very professional and trustworthy and also empathetic to my needs and wants. It was important to him that I was happy and satisfied with my decision. He explained everything and went out of his way to reassure me. I also met Darnell, the manager who also was very congenial and was very good to me with my deal on my new Tuscan. I am very pleased with my experience and would highly recommend them to others.

When you schedule your service online, you have a 50/50 shot that theyll actually receive and confirm your appointment. On multiple occasions Ive scheduled service through the Hyundai website and through the Williamsburg Hyundai website only to never receive confirmation or follow up regarding these appointments. On top of that, the only availability is always seemingly weeks out, which means you could be waiting the better portion of a month for your service appointment, only to find out they dont have your appointment scheduled. Pretty frustrating to say the least.

I called this dealership to ask about a transaction that I was making from another dealership, of which car was supposed to be transferred to me. After discussing with the sales team for two minutes, they came back on the phone and angrily told me they were not gonna talk to me, they had a trust issue with another dealership and hung up the phone. Completely unprofessional. Uncalled for, I was not impolite in anyway and I do not represent anyone for which they may have a conflict with. Disappointing to hear that customer service amongst the same auto maker dealerships can be so poor.

Found a car that I love and had been looking for online and contacted a very nice salesman over the phone. Informed him of what figures I was aiming for and took my car in to get a trade-in value. I called the dealership at 9 in the morning when they opened and it took till late afternoon for them to quote me a price. Was in the process of getting a loan through my financial institution, was approved and told my salesman what my interest rate was and that my bank would call me in the morning to finalize. The next morning I called the salesman to inform him I was ready and he told me the car was already sold. Needless to say I was quit upset. Bottom line without going into a lengthy rant, I do not recommend this dealership. I do not feel like they value their customers and that they only care about making a quick buck. The once pleasant salesman got real defensive when I told him I felt betrayed. He said I shouldve paid a deposit for them to hold the vehicle, which I gladly wouldve done if I knew that was even an option!

Was looking for a new Hyundai for my sister. While the salesperson was ultimately happy to answer the questions I had about the vehicle over the e-mail, my preference, the vehicle was not ready timely, the asking price was far too high compared to other Hyundai dealers up the street (Richmond and Chesapeake, respectively), and I saved a significant amount of money looking outside of Williamsburg.Dealerships around Virginia are offering vehicle sensitization and home delivery due to COVID-19, but not Williamsburg Hyundai.The salesman did follow up with me and let me know the car had sold, so it looks like a win-win--they got too much for their vehicle and I got a better deal and far superior service elsewhere.

Williamsburg Hyundai let me down. The salesman never followed up with me even after my request asking him to do so. I drove all the way from Suffolk Va to inquire about the vehicle (over an hour drive).The vehicle was listed with the wrong mileage, but I was still interested. I had a cash budget of 11k to work with. I was told the vehicle needed to go through the shop to determine if there was any flex in the price. The salesman shared he received a million inquiries about the vehicle. I guess with so many customers interested he didnt care to follow up, but I was ready to purchase the car less than 24hrs after it was placed online. I was ready to put a deposit down to hold the vehicle but the salesman never followed back up.Such lackluster service. I will be sure to leave a review. Please remove me from your mailing/marketing list.

Great Sales Department and Good Service Department.I bought my Hyundai from in 2016. I recently went in for a recall and ended up getting more work done. Oil change and a couple filters and I paid over $150 for the services. Seems kind of high, but they got me with the dirty filters. I will look into maintaining them myself from now on.I would note that when I called to schedule the recall, the service person, Murphy, was not very pleasant and was extremely short with me when I had questions. I went ahead and scheduled with them because it was a recall. When I got there I dealt with the other gentleman, I did not get his name. He was pleasant and gave me all the details I needed and answered all my questions. I discovered that Murphy was the other representative there when I got my service and did not have any interactions with him.

Ive purchased a vehicle theyre 3 years ago, Ive been theyre thought the years to up keep maintenance on my vehicle and the manager by the name Murray refused to give me my part number to try and order it. I called to the Newport news location without any problems or hesitation and was given it. I dont know why the location that is in my area wouldnt, it shows and proves that people are still prejudice and that no one called me back after making this report.

I visited several locations and it was as painful as pulling teeth. On a whim I stopped at Hyundai of Williamsburg;. It is the best, most honest and straightforward dealership. The manager Darnell is exceptional and we talked quite a bit as he patiently discussed dealership history, the different vehicle types available, capabilities and the no BS policy.I returned a few days later for a test drive and Jim assisted me. Although I didnt think I initially click with Jim, he turned out to be the best guy in my corner. He couldve pushed for any of the two more expensive cars I was considering instead he showed me all options including pros and con. Furthermore he made sure the car was ready to go to help me with my really tight schedule.Overall a great experience. Ill definitely return when Im ready and I most certainly and highly recommend them.

Tried to schedule an appointment for an oil change on my Hyundai that I bought at Williamsburg Hyundai. First available appointment was over 10 days out. I was able to make appointments for my Hyundai and Acura at Halls in Newport News with no issue anytime this week. Kudos to Halls for their availability and flexibility. Ten days out for simple service is not reasonable. Service is a big part in decision making when choosing a dealer.

I bought my new 2013 Hyundai Genesis R-Spec Coupe last weekend. The whole process from test drive to finance was a breeze. I had to leave my car there on Saturday so I could drive my new coupe home to Ocean View in Norfolk. *This is only regarding Sales*, not Service or the Parts department. We were walking around the lot looking at cars and an aggressive salesman in a bow tie approached us. He was pushy and when I told him we liked the toyotas that we looked at better he got very aggressive and rude about it. Mind you we did not ask for a salesman he just aggressively forced himself on us. Maybe the aggressive salesman approach works for some people but it just pushed us away completely.

I would give them a zero if I could. I leased a hyundai tuscon from another dealer where I used to live, well I moved and Williamsburg Hyundai was the closest to me to return my lease. I Called corporate first and asked could I return the car at any dealership, they said yes and to call Williamsburg Hyundai to make an appointment. When I called Williamsburg Hyundai to make an appointment, the guy said just bring it in, no appointment necessary. So today I took it into Williamsburg Hyundai and they guy asked if he could help me. I told him I was returning a lease he asked if I bought it there, I told him no. I lived somewhere else. He then snapped at us and I quote We aint taking in no cars up in here today I said. excuse me. he said if we could not have bought it there then he was not taking it in. I explained that corporate told me I could take it there a d so did someone from his location. I asked to speak with the manager and he YELLED at me that he was the manager. I asked him if he speaks to all customers that way and he told me to get out of his store. WOW! NEVER will I get a car from there. Stay away from crazy Darnell Jones at Williamsburg Hyundai.

The oil change and the friendliness of the Staff is very good. I asked for an idea of the wear on my brake pads and was told that it would be shown on the 21 point inspection. When I left I asked for a copy of the inspection. It indicated it was not done. Now I have to return to have it done.

Don’t waste your time they are much to busy for your business. I Called 0930 Monday morning for a basic oil change. Im visiting Williamsburg for Spring Break so the flexibility of time and day was on my side as I figured I’m pretty available. I opted out of the online scheduling and to speak to a real person to make the appointment. After a few questions, I was told was there was no availability until next week. We have bought 3 cars here. Never again. Free inspection for life means that every yr they find something wrong. It always ends up costing more then if I would have taken it to another inspection place. This is why we stop doing business with this dealership. I would love to know why everyone in the waiting area needed head light adjustment last week. We were forced to come back for a warrantee issue and once again, after we said not to do the inspection, they did it anyway and tried to charge us for the same old head light adjustment thing that they get everyone for. What a scam! Save your money and take your car somewhere else. Side note: I wrote to Hyundai when this head light adjustment thing happened to my daughter a few yrs ago but they never responded.

The customer service in the service department is quick to point the finger at a customer for a bad tire which had a bump that just appeared. Thought the tire had a warranty on since my tire had only 30,000 miles just the same for the car.Paid 170 for one tire to be replace . They didnt even offer a discount or free car wash. I use to like bringing my car there but now I feel like I have been taken advantage of. :(

The service department has a hell of a time answering their phone. I had to call them three times to get anybody to answer and tell me whether my car was ready, even though they were supposed to have called me when it was ready. Dont even think about trying to schedule a service appointment by phone; do it online instead. At least there you dont have to wait for someone to answer. They could at least pick up the phone and ask you to hold if they are busy with another customer. Exceedingly rude.

I would never shop here. Granted, the salesman was wonderful, but the lack of care for their customers general safety is scary. We went to look at a 2014 Kia Optima SXT they had for sale and the ad specifically stated Lots of tread left on this one! (see photo) I had called to see if the car was still available before we made the 80 minute drive to their dealership. I asked if there was anything noticeably wrong with the car and was told that there wasnt. When we arrived, the first thing we noticed was that all the tires were balled. They had NO TREAD left. OK, none is dramatic, but seriously like a little smidgen left to drive on. We actually took the car for a test drive and when we returned we had stated that this was the car we are looking to purchase, although there were a couple others around the area to go see. We told the salesman that we would be OK with the price as long as they put on 4 new tires (or even used ones with some dang tread on them!) on the vehicle for safety purposes, but the answer was a big fat No. We talked about it a few minutes more and was ready to sign the papers if they cared about their customers safety and put some decent tires on and his manager/boss still said NO. No negotiating, just a NO. Shocked & shaking our heads we left and went north into Richmond and bought a blue KIA Optima up there. I must say too... I LOVE my new car with good tires to drive on. :)For those of you looking to purchase here....just be careful. Its a big OBVIOUS that they dont care about putting a family into a SAFE vehicle...... especially knowing we travel alot and with a small child.**PS - They have since changed the ad & removed any comment about tread. Ha Ha Crazy.UPDATE 5/18/17Now I am for SURE never going to buy a car from this place as they have done raised the price of the car by $2000+ and still kept the balled tires on! I am shocked!! (See photo taken 5/18) We looked at it in April at $15K. Wow, I am truly and utterly surprised at the price hike with those tires still on it.UPDATE 6/5/18This care is STILL for sale on their lot. Truly disappointed after feeling confident walking out of the Service Center quite some time ago. My issues date back almost a year now, but I want to ensure that it is known that I will not bring my car, my money, or my trust back to John and his Service Center team.A summary of the experience:I brought my car in with a vibration replicating the symptoms of a failing wheel bearing (and 2 tire walls being destroyed likely due to this and poor alignment) with the verification from three experienced mechanics. New tires were installed at this point (meanwhile, the parts department tried to persuade me that very poorly tested and reviewed tires that would run about $160 more for the set were better than my request for specific Continentals that are revered among Gen Coupe owners). After being told we cannot replicate the symptoms, I invited John (Service Manager) to drive my Genesis Coupe. I rode with him as he drove my car with him instantly saying, I certainly can feel and hear the noise you are describing. As I have not driven this car before, it could be a resonance caused by the (stock) exhaust of the car. This must be a joke.Two weeks into this adventure and after an act of Congress, they finally diagnosed that the wheel bearing was the issue and John had it replaced under warranty.Now on the test drive there was a prevalent back-and-forth chattering in the steering wheel. After asking John, he claimed that the alignment and balance was done once the new tires were installed.His statement was exactly, the new tires will have to settle on the rim after driving some miles on them. One of your brake rotors also showed a very slight warp in it, which we called have milled flat for about $100”Still curious, I brought my car back to John the next afternoon asking if this was truly something I had to ride out until it improved. His statement this time was, your front rims are likely bent inward. You cant see it since it may be insignificant, but at highway speeds, you will notice it. The tires will settle into it and the vibration should go away. Again, I ate up yet another piece of mind statement and went along my way.After a season of taking the consult that John had delivered, I gave it time and a temperature change to see if the problem would go to rest. It definitely did not.At this point, I took my Genesis Coupe to a GM service center outside of Richmond and described my symptoms to the mechanic. After having the balance and alignment performed, the chattering in the steering wheel has now gone away. The first thing the mechanic asked when I picked up the car was, who did you say balanced your tires? He did all he could to not laugh followed by, then they owe you new tires and a proper alignment.With this revelation, I called John to discuss these findings. He defended himself by stating:how was I supposed to know your car was still having an issue when it left here? Youve driven it for months and thousands of miles now (at YOUR suggestion, John) and theres likely nothing we can do.Ive heard of this road force balancing and we do have the equipment here, but only do this at the request of the customer.I see you visit the parts department for your oil filters frequently, why didnt you say something then? (I dont trust you, so why would I bring my car back in?)The only thing I can do for you is take this information back to my team for future reference.So thank you, John, for deceiving me and lying to my face multiple times, while driving my car, on your shop floor, and over the phone. I will not bring my business back for service or even to purchase a $7 oil filter from the parts department. Honestly, I will be hesitant to purchase another Hyundai knowing that this level of disregard for customer service honesty and integrity is what is touted under the banner of a Hyundai Certified Service Center. I will not be back.

I had a very bad experience with the service department. My car sat there for 6 weeks before I could get answer as to whether a repair was covered under the Hyundai warranty. I eventually took the car somewhere else for the repairs. Day after day, I would call them and they would promise to call me back later in the day with an answer. They would never call back. I lost track of how many times their answering system cut me off.

Service is terrible. First problem came when i took car in for a light on tire sensor. Came back on before i got a mile from the building. Then they accused me of not telling them which light was on?WHAT... After they realized their error they put it back on a tablet and removed a code. It was fixed. But no one apologized for accusing me of problem.Now, i live 50 minutes from dealer, battery went dead in car. Bought one from advance since its around the corner. Engine light came on. Callef dealer asked if battery change could cause problem before i drove down. She sd not likely. So off we went with 2 vehicles incase car breaks down. The service dept had me sign diagnostic paper then they took out the code. That was all. Nothing was wrong with my car. When i complained all John kept saying was your upset because you paid for something you agreed too. Why would he bait me into an argument. No john, im angry because i lost my trust in this dealership becse it didnt do whats right for a customer. I feel ripped off. I feel cheated. I feek like this is a scam and maybe the attorney general needs to look i to this practice. the 5 years ive had this car i have referred 5 people and 4 have purchased. I will being doing the oposite going forward.Im happy to say things have been made right. Thank you for reaching out to me

A Hyundai dealer. Found a better price on a new car in Richmond, VA. This dealership was also unable to find the Veloster in the color and tech package that I wanted but I found it in Richmond which is an hour away. Never had any service here yet.
