My phone screen cracked while I was here on vacation. My mobile carrier sent me to this store to get a repair. It was 4:45pm and they closed at 5 pm! The gentleman in the store were willing to stay late to repair my cracked screen! They did it efficiently and with such delight! I’m so excited to have my phone back and they are definitely the best! Wished this kind of service was offered back at home! Thank you for being so fast and thoughtful!

The logic board in my laptop failed and I was at risk of losing everything, including all personal and work documents that Id used or created over the last few months. I walked in, was immediately given all the help I could have asked for, and in about 30 minutes my data was saved. I was locked out of my MacBook. I called apple support, went to Best Buy and nobody could help me!!! These guys are awesome.My sons let his cousin use his computer she logged in as the administrator and locked it up… they again helped and even set up a separate account so I could unlock the computer if ever forgot his passcode.They are really amazing and saved me a lot of time.Without even knowing my sons laptop had two recalls and they fixed them both within the hour.Hands down the beat place I have ever been too. Best service best everything. I would drive 5 hours just for these people again.

I needed the battery replaced on a iPhone 6S and did not want to have to drive all the way to Richmond. They were able to replace the battery in a hour, and it was only $50 which is way cheaper than buying a new phone. Both gentlemen working were very nice.

Without a doubt, best place I have ever been to when dealing with phone issues or IOS issues no matter the platform. The owner is extremely efficient, great communicator and fast at everything. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and needed screen and camera replaced but noticed on Apple support service they only had ICommand available same day and I live 1 hour away. At first I was like NAW, this aftermarket type generic store probably like all the other mall phone repair places. But I really had no choice and I’m glad for that!!!,…. because from the time i walked in to store and left was 8 mins…8 MINS!!!! but in that eight mins a new phone was ordered, old phone info and sim transferred to “loner” device til new one arrived and order of new one complete all within 8 mins.Seriously apple lucked up getting these guys to be a visible store front for the brand and the quality. If all them were like this it would be impossible for any other place to compete. Oh…if Virginia DMV was this efficient I wouldn’t mind going there either and anyone that lives in VA KNOWS WHAT I MEAN!!!

ICommand stands by its service. I took in a perfectly fine working iPhone for a battery change. After several hours, I was told my phone was failing and a new battery would not help. I asked to have the original battery put back in.On my way home, the phone exhibited new problems; it now would not charge beyond 3% and kept cutting off and rebooting itself.The week before I worked with Apple phone support and tweaked my iPhone SE so that it was performing beautifully, faster loading of apps and better transmission of email and texting. However, the battery was getting weak and the Apple phone support recommended replacing the battery.After the owner became aware of the situation, he called and offered to replace my phone with a working one and loan me a phone in the meantime. We drove 2 hr back to Williamsburg and picked up a loaner phone, which he had programmed with all of my apps and set up so that it was pretty much identical to my original phone.

I had an issue with my iPhone X and I took it to them because they were the closest available. Drove all the way from Norfolk, and I am glad I did. Nick helped me out, said that the issue was under a recall and that it would be a no charge fix, done in an hour. Sure enough, in an hour my phone was working like new. I visited this store back in September 2020 and have been meaning to write a review since. John and his team are absolutely wonderful. Because of the pandemic (COVID-19), I had to drive from the Hampton Roads area to WIlliamsburg for the last appointment available this day, as no Apple stores in my area had available appointments. They stayed past Closing so I would not have to make the drive again. They did not have to do this. So I want to say a big Thank you for going above and beyond guys!! I would highly recommend this store for anyone needing help with their Apple devices.

Very rude customer service! They had the open sign lit up but when I walked in the guy at the counter told me they were closed. I asked if I could ask a question and he asked was it quick with an attitude. I said never mind and walked out. If an establishment is closed they lock the door and turn off the open sign! Not leave the door open and be rude to customers. Take your business else where and don’t go here to iCommand!

Brought my Mac Book pro here, told them my explicit problem of over heating. They did not test this and immediately assumed it was a logic board issue. Returned my device still broken and now want to charge me $100 just to bring it back though its under warranty! Btw The OWNER Handled this problem... ! Best Authorized Apple Service Provider (AASP) in the Richmond/Charlottesville/Williamsburg/Norfolk/VA Beach area! My business requires very frequent service of Macs and Ive tried various AASP places, including the retail Apple stores.Apple store has decent service but the wait times are long, appointments are only open if you schedule week or more in advance and sometimes you get a difficult agent.iCommand walk in wait times are very reasonable, there is usually no more than 2-3 people waiting and you can get serviced in 10 mins or less usually. The staff is much more helpful and honest than in the Apple store and acknowledge various common issues that Apple Geniuses are circumspect about. Macs get repaired more efficiently than Apple and you still dont get charged if youre under AppleCare or servicing a recalled issue.iCommand compares very favorably with Apple stores, but if you compare it with other AASPs its almost no comparison, other ones are massively inferior from my experience. Some act like they only do Apple stuff on the side or only have a surface level understanding, as Ive found with other AASP in Williamsburg. Others like in Charlottesville simply dont do certain stuff like free replacements under AppleCare. In Richmond where I live there isnt even an AASP.In short, if youre in Richmond/Charlottesville/Williamsburg area, there is no place like iCommand for Apple service.

I am very happy with my purchase of an iMac but after reading the previous reviews Apple needs to send all of the iCommand employees to customer service training. The older gentlemen was very rude, and short and referred me to the display card when I asked questions that were not listed on the card. He took 15 minutes to come over and didnt stay long and went back to helping other customers he felt were more important. He laughed very unprofessionally when I paid and I asked what the problem was and he said nothing.

ICommand repaired my cracked MacBook Pro screen and did everything possible to get Apple to cover the repair. I left with my screen fixed, all of my files restored (but ALWAYS backup, just in case) and only paying the service fee, which was a fraction of the cost I thought I was going to have to pay. The communication was concise and as efficient as possible. I’ve gone to other computer repair shops closer to where I live and they just made me feel like an idiot. The folks at iCommand were polite and understanding. Worth the 30 minute drive!

I stopped in to have my laptop looked at. I waited a very brief time before action was taken. They called me to communicate everything and explained my options. Im pretty uneducated about technology, but I felt very informed and that the staff gave me a thorough explanation of everything that was going to happen and the charges. He took time to diagnose the problem but did not have the cable I needed for sale. He loaned me his and the HOA meeting was a success. What a great Mac resource for the local area! They handled my recent I-Mac purchase flawlessly.After my nearly ten year old MacBook Pro quit on me, CapitolMac was able to recover the data off the old hard drive and move it to a new I-Mac. They did this at no additional cost over the sell price of the machine.Turnaround time for my order and setting up the new new computer was just over a week.The end result was when I took the new computer home and plugged it in, the original files and settings were all as they were on my old MacBook. Thats what I call a seamless and painless transition!

I recently purchased an IPad from Capitol Mac and cant say enough about the wonderful service they provided to include ensuring that all my settings and apps on the new device mirrored my old one. I was especially concerned about photos. A few weeks later, Nick spent an hour with me helping with several of my accounts that really had nothing to do with the original purchase. He was extremely knowledgeable and patient. I cant imagine that you would ever get this kind of service at an Apple Store. My first experience with Capital Mac was when my granddaughters iPad would no longer charge. It couldn’t be fixed still under warranty they ordered her a new iPad and it came the next day! I was so impressed. Our first experience was so wonderful, so at Christmas we purchased a new computer from them, they helped us select the right computer for our needs, they offer a one hour class to ask questions after the purchase, and the customer service is superior to the competition. Logic board on my laptop died, I asked if data transfer would be any extra from the diagnosis fee, they said no. When I went to get my machine and external hard drive, they charged me an additional $45 saying they would have waived the transfer fee if I recycled with them. From the beginning I told them I was picking up my machine, never mentioned recycling with them.They also didnt put the screws back into the bottom of my laptop.Not a good experience, felt like they lied to me/didnt carefully read my replies to their messages. Now their reply below is blaming me, unprofessional.

The sales associate in the front of the store was condescending, insulting, and needs to go to customer service training as well as learn not to make fun of the military.I brought my Mac in for hardware issues. During my interaction with the sales associate (young girl, long reddish hair), she made a questionable remark regarding a mom with two infants who were stopped outside the store. When I told her I have an infant at home, she tried to backtrack quickly, but did not apologize for her insensitive remark.During the course of her taking my computers information she asked why I didnt have my Mac repaired earlier and I stated I was stationed overseas with the military and couldnt get to an Apple store. The sales associate went into a diatribe about my boss and Commander in Chief, the President. She then slammed Vice President Pence and Secretary of State Pompeo. She then insulted the military. When I rebuked in shock at her remarks, she went into a condescending tone and started to talk down to me as if I was inerudite and naive. Her switch from nice to uncivil was immediate.There is no reason the sales associate should have even brought up this subject up much less speak ill of the military, especially as there is a whole array of active and retired military in the Williamsburg area.I had to take my Mac and leave the store. If this is the way Capitol Mac treats its military and government workers in the area, I want NO part of it.Capitol Mac is free to have their own personal opinions of the current administration, but if they want to verbal express them at their place of business they will lose customers.

I just bought a laptop from them yesterday and they have the best customer service of any Apple/Apple certified store Ive ever worked with. We dealt primarily with Nick, who was very personable, and seemed to really be interested in what would suit me over up selling me to a better product I may not need. He knew his products backwards and forwards moved over my applications from my old Mac for free and even put my old hard drive in a case so it can act as an external hard drive for back ups. Nick was knowledgeable, professional and efficient with laying out the different options and explaining them thoroughly.There was no wait time when we went into the store both times; most Apple stores have outrageous wait times and then make you wait even longer after they have taken your device. None of that nonsense here. I would go to this Authorized Apple Service Provider for future work on my computer any day over the actual Apple Store in Richmond. Highly recommend.

I brought my laptop to them because my water bottle leaked in my backpack. The checking service was really pricy to me as a student and I got my laptop back in two days. However, they told me that my laptop was broken and they came up with a description that was exactly what I told them, like which parts were not functioning, nothing more. In addition, they strongly suggested me to do data recovery, which was even more expensive. Im so glad now I didnt take their suggestion. I took my laptop back, used my hairdryer to dry the outlets and it worked perfectly several days after. Its been a year now and I am still using my laptop. I write this review because I doubt that they checked my laptop thoroughly or their knowledge of the Apple products was sufficient.

Great company! I took my old, slow iMac to CapitolMac expecting to have them suggest that I buy a new computer. Instead, John suggested that I let them check my iMac for viruses or other problems and update my hard drive to an SSD (digital hard drive). I had spent two weeks taking my MacAir 13 back and forth to another shop and finally decided to try this CapitolMac. I am so glad to have discovered it. The atmosphere inside the shop is always calm even when crowded. John, Judy and Nick all had excellent bedside manners when dealing with my computers problems and MY distress. They are very clear in explaining what the dysfunction is and how it must be remedied. They kept my device over the weekend, ordered a part, and Nick fixed it quickly. Kudos to CapitolMac (Williamsburg, VA) for salvaging my MacBook. Took it in on Moday morning after it got slightly drowned. The verdict was major damage to all components and iffy on whether the data could be recovered. Got a call today, Thursday, that the data was recovered and the laptop was back from Apple Refurb in Texas. It is hard to believe! But I am grateful. And, yes, I bought a portable hard drive. Nothing like hindsight and shutting the barn door after the cows get out!
