I shop very seldom at Ulta but I did today. I went there to pick up a couple of common cosmetic items that can be found at any drugstore or Walmart. I went to Ulta because they sent me a $10 coupon and I thought I could save some money on my purchases. Of course, they had none of the items I went there for even though they carry the brands. I purchased other items but was disappointed I never can find what I want there in spite of the fact they have an overabundance of cosmetic items.

This will be the first review I ever write for a company. I was followed and harassed from the moment I walked in the store. Every time I moved, the lady moved. She damn near followed me out of the store. I stopped by ulta to see what they had in the male fragrance section. When I walked in, I was hounded with an overwhelming greeting, and wasnt allowed to shop in peace. I asked about the new Dior Elixir, and the lady that was following me tried to be smart and make it seem as if I couldnt read, but she had no clue what she was talking about. Ulta, I want your manager to look at you alls cameras, between 3:45 and 4:25 on 9/10/21, and see all this. I guess you all dont get too many black males walking in your store. I likely wont be back in this store.

Favorite cosmetic place in williamsburg. staff are eager to help. brands you cant find elsewhere. the newest makeup is always here.

I have shopped Ulta many times and can generally always find what Im looking for and plenty that Im not. Used their Brow Service today. Ruby was great! Im new to the brow waxing game and she listened well to all my needs and they turned out great! I like my brows more natural and full and she cleaned them up well without disturbing my natural shape. Will definitely be back for touch ups.

I came in looking to replace my old, expired makeup. Pre-COVID, I always wore full makeup 24/7. Now, I’ve learned to embrace my natural beauty and tend to stick to lighter coverage face makeup. While I knew that foundation matching is picking a shade and kind of eyeballing it with the restrictions in place, Lilly matched me perfectly and was extremely knowledgeable and recommended products catered exactly for what my oily skin needed. After a long hunt of good makeup for my skin, I’ll be sticking to these products! Thank you for your help, Lilly!

I just went and there to get mascara and an eyebrow brush, but staff was so kind and amazing, and willing to assist i even got a free perfume sample lol

I loved this place! I came from out of town and stopped here to get my birthday gift and one of the workers sand me happy birthday when she heard. The workers knew their products and where very attentive and sweet. I love ulta and always have a good experience no matter what location it is. This one was just awesome!

Seriously the best experience at Ulta in years! I went in to Ulta to treat myself for my birthday and the ladies on staff were beyond helpful. I laughed, tried new products, and left with items I never would have tried but now LOVE. This is what I used to love about going to Ulta, so glad to see that they have an amazing team here in Williamsburg. Four different ladies helped me pick out products and really made me feel welcome. Amazing service!

Always spend way too much money in here. Thats my own fault though.

I was overcharged for a product. The label clearly said one price but I was charged an extra $2. The cashier corrected the problem and refunded me the difference after going to check the price. Im just glad I caught it before I left.

Great experience! First time ever at an Ulta, for any purpose.Got a color correction done with Rocki. She is amazing. Super sweet, really outgoing and the whole staff just seems really happy and pumped to be there. They were all really encouraging with each other too. The environment alone is a reason to go. Got exactly what I wanted and Rocki worked really hard to make sure of that. She also made sure that she did not damage/fry my hair while also trying to get me to my goal. :D Definitely recommend, especially Rocki!Shopping center is great too, with a lot of awesome stores and parking.

It’s a very small Ulta, definitely not use to a stand alone that tiny. The staff was friendly enough. They greeted us and then left us alone to shop. Love it! They were buzzing around working which made it easy enough to get their attention if we needed anything. Def didn’t profile us even though we were bumming that day. They treated us great. Not to little attention and not to much attention, just right! The young woman at the register that checked us out was super friendly and I give her a 5 Stars!

A womens candy store!! But overpriced due to convenience of everything in 1 spot. I asked for help with a soft colored eyeliner, and was led to a $20 something dollar liner. I asked for something a little less expensive. The reply? That I wanted a low end product? Gulp. Not cool. I just choose how to spend my money.

Nice place to shop for all my cosmetic and hair needs. Great reward program keeps me coming in. Pleasant staff, thats for sure! Sometimes their selection seems limited as they stopped carrying a popular product I liked. Wish they would be able to have things shipped to store for me in cases like this.

I stopped by to buy a gift certificate. I was amazed to see a huge store with beauty items. I figured I should treat my self as well. I was reassured by an employee and manager this lipstick will last through eating up to French Kisses. No it does not.I am writing this review from Greece where I felt embarrassed wearing it and finding out there was not much left of the lipstick on my lips after a nice dinner. If you don’t care for 24 hour lipstick than it’s MAKEUP PARADISE.

What I personally love about Ulta Beauty is the atmosphere. For professionals or everyday consumers theres something for everyone. The staff are super helpful! The hairstylist look amazing and professional. Theres a wide variety of things to choose from, makeup, styling products, face masks, body washes, scrubs, cologne, and perfumes. I could keep going! If you havent been go see for youre self!

Family member wanted a gift certificate from here. Walked in store and was like dang. Had no clue what I was walking into. If you wear any type of makeup this is the store for you. I was in awe of the selection of items this store.

I was very irritated when I left out of ULTA the other day. I went in to purchase mascara, since they dont carry the brand I typically use, I purchased a cheap brand until mine arrived in the mail. With all of that said, the cashier looked at me with disgust because I purchased $10 mascara. When I left I immediately called my friend who shops there on the regular, and she said that they will judge you if you dont purchase prestige brands. Honestly not acceptable. Whenever I shop MAC or Chanel for makeup products Ive never had an experience like this. Hence, will continue to purchase my beauty products directly from MAC/Chanel or there distributors.

Got my haircut by Cari today and she was great! Saw on google she needed more clients so thought I’d give it go. Wasn’t disappointed! My hair has been growing like crazy w/ prenatals and my ends were horrible, but I came out with my hair super soft and no more split ends!Cari was so nice and funny and kept me awake even though pregnancy has me so tired and sleepy all the time.I’ve used Ulta salon once before and was really happy with my hair service then as well. I like that they don’t harass you about buying stuff like other salons do and the prices are very reasonable.Love how my hair looks and the service I got today at Ulta. Definitely recommend both Ulta Salon and Cari!

I personally like Ulta, just not a fan of this location. I came in here yesterday to just make a small purchase. Got up to the register which is where my problem started. Amber, the woman who cashed me out, took my coupon, but never scanned it. So I had to tell her, and then she had to do a refund and ring it all back through. As if my troubles ended there, the change she gave me didn’t sound correct. Of course she had another customer because the other cashier walked away to make phone calls. I counted and triple checked to be certain that I was correct, and then went up to speak to her after. She gave me a mean glare like she was upset I was back. I watched her carefully because I’m not entirely sure it was an accident. She ended up having to get her colleague who was making phone calls, and then the two of them tried to figure out simple math. Of course they apparently couldn’t and had to call over a manager. It wasn’t until the manager came over, that this second mistake was corrected. HOWEVER, while this was taking place Amber walked away with no apologies to me. She just didn’t want to be bothered, nor did she want to get in trouble. As the other cashier, Mason tried to cover for her. Extremely disappointed that this is how customer service is handled and if you don’t know simple math, then please use a calculator. I don’t mind, just don’t rip me off and try to cover it up. Absolutely unprofessional. I’d expect more from a company like Ulta, but I’ll just find a different place to fit my needs. I wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone.

I scheduled an appointment for a makeup application for an engagement shoot. They called me to move my appointment to earlier in the day, to which I agreed. It wasnt a big deal, I figured we could get into town early and have breakfast somewhere. I walked in 5 minutes before the scheduled start time of my appointment to be told that I was late, that they had me down for 12:30 when I was told 12:45 during my phone call. Originally I was told she could fit me in. Then she adds But I only have about 30 minutes until my next appointment. Im pretty quick, I could try to see what I can get done. When Im paying for a professional makeup application for a photo shoot, Id really prefer not to have it half-assed. So instead of a $40 makeup application that I was really looking forward to, I instead bought $80 of makeup and supplies elsewhere and am now doing my own makeup sitting in my car. Lovely.

I went in there to pickup some new foundation. I tried and failed to get the associates attention. After 20 minutes I finally found someone to help. But they spent less than 30 seconds with me. Told me to buy the one in front of me because its the best. I wandered around for another 30 minutes trying to get some real help and find a beauty blender. Literally no one would help me or even asked if I needed help.I finally go to the check out and they tell me that theyre out of the gift with purchase, which was the whole reason I chose that one. No apology, no substitution.I left without buying anything and wont be coming back. Ill drive to Newport news or shop online before I come back here.

Great location. Items are normally well-stocked, and the staff are friendly and willing to help. Also had a great experience at the Brow Bar (not so much at other Ulta locations..)-- the esthetician was professional, started working with me even a few minutes before my appointment, and gave helpful advice about my brows without pushing products.

You do not come up to customers and just say: what are you looking for??!! Hi May i help you? Will work way better

I just booked a last minute appointment with Tanya Torres, the salon manager at the Williamsburg Ulta and could not have been MORE satisfied!!! She asked lots of questions and made sure that I got exactly what I didnt even know that I wanted. ( admit it... we all sit down and expect our stylists to read our minds) The appointment began with a fabulous head massage masked as a shampoo and condition treatment. Then we got down to business. I love m new do. Thanks Tanya!!!!

Went to get my brows done a while ago, I was initially unsure, because they were so much different than what I was used to, but once I got home and saw them with my makeup I really loved them. I cant recall the associates name, but I will be going back and Ill be sure to get it. The only negative thing I have to say about the store is that some of the people are very pushy, I know its their job but sometimes Its a little much. Ive also gotten my hair done here and was very pleased.

No one asks to help you. Only one check-out open and 5 in line. Finally called for help and she went over to assist the one checker who was obviously struggling. Finally checked out. Like this store for selection is mostly good. I didnt find everything I hoped for. No samples offered for our wait. Seems like store is slipping in its customer service.

The clinique lady, Michelle I think, is awesome!! I only shop at the Williamsburg location. Ive had terrible experiences in the Newport News and Gloucester stores. The employees actually approach you and ask if you need assistance. I try to take advantage of the sales but I end up buying so much more.

2017-06-24 personnel was nice and helpful to my wife and I saw one lady employee working on the floor and then when she saw a few people standing in line, she moved to the cashier and allowed my wife and others to check out. Plenty of products inside, beautiful new building and shopping area, and other customer services available inside.

I had an awesome expierence at Ulta in Williamsburg. I follow Lexi (one of the managers) on Instagram for make up tips. I went in to get some help with buying all new products and Lexi recommended Dylan to help me out ! Dylan was amazing. He was super patient and persistent. He matched my skin to the best brand and shade. He was even great with my daughter who was with me! Dylan and Lexi both are great and I highly recommend them if you need help in the store!

Hello, my names Ashley and over the years my hair has been through so much damage and mistakes with bad coloring and bleaching that I would cry for days and so I decided to give it one more shot and if I hate it I’m shaving it off haha. So I went to Ulta (5225 Settlers Market Blvd. #170 Williamsburg, VA 23188) and my hair stylist’s name was Nicole Everhart and she was absolutely amazing. She told me all the options I could do with my hair after I told her everything that happened. She made my hair feel and look so much healthier and alive. The color is absolutely amazing!! I love it soooo much!! It’s the best my hair has ever looked! I’m so happy! :) she did such a great job and plus she was so friendly. Me and my friend went to ulta today and we were looking around at things and this one lady kept asking us questions and following us around the store wherever we went. I accidentally dropped something I was holding and I didn’t realize that I did. The lady walked over and asked me where the product was and I said that I didn’t know because I didn’t realize I dropped it. Then she started being all rude and said “sweetie, I just saw you with it. Now where is it?” I told her again that I didn’t know and that I must have put it back or something. She said “you did not put it back I was right here. I’m going to check the cameras.” I got very angry at her for basically accusing me of stealing and getting into my business when I was just trying to look around. I ended up finding the product in the bag I was holding. I must have dropped it in or just set it in my bag without realizing it when I was looking for my money. I told her that I accidentally dropped it in my bag and she was rude again and said “oh sure you did. Is there anything else you ‘accidentally’ dropped in your bag?” Watch out for the nosy employees they’re really annoying and rude.

Had an appointment tonight with Angela for brow waxing. I was her last of the evening and boy did she make me feel like it. Of all the brow bars I have been to, this was the worst experience ever. She spent 5 minutes on my brows (no exaggeration). She stood 5 feet away from me to apply the wax, not even looking where she was globbing it on, never mapped out my brows like the brow bar is suppose to, just jumped right in. So much hair was missed, and my right brow is half the width of the left and I left bleeding from a burn mark she didnt say anything about. I didnt even ask her to fix them because she was so rushed I was afraid of what she would do. Very disappointing because I had a great brow bar in my previous town before I moved.

Im sure everyone has seen stories of Ulta restocking with used, returned make up. I myself have never experienced this or have known anyone to have such a problem. Well. Since this past Tuesday, April 24th, I purchased Bare Minerals matt foundation as well as the mineral veil. To my dismay when I got home, I realized the Matt foundation was already opened! If anyone had bought Bare Minerals foundation, Im sure you are aware that its not easy to just pull the tab in the store. Someone bought this foundation, opened it then returned it. Ulta then proceeds to place it back on the shelf for resale! The stories are true and I know I will no longer shop at any Ulta. What if they restock opened, used lip products?!!

Ulta is a mix of high end and drug store make-up so you get the best of both worlds. Great sales and coupons too.

My boyfriend in a great attempt to be sweet went into Ulta ans spent anout 100$ on things he thought I would like as well as purchasing me a gift card for 60$. When I went in to return the things that just werent for me the manager Anna acted highly inconvenienced but after 5 to 10 minutes finally was able to load a gift card for the purchased items. After shopping for over an hour with my 6 year old, she was ready to go. I go to check out and there is a problem with the card she just loaded which means she has to call customer service which she never got through to anyway after about ten mins standing there and here walking away multiple times the card works at the end she goes to take the gift receipt with all the other items he had purchased. I kindly asked may I keep that just in case any other products dont work for me and thats when she gets an attitude and informs me that next time he should just purchase you a gift card HA excuse me?? He did maam after working all day he came here shopped which men dont typically do AND purchased me a gift card so thats really not something you should comment on anyway was my response. She then goes to make a copy of the gift receipt when another associate asks her again to come help them (at this time Ive been on line for almost 30 minutes) so I say um no Ive waited long enough here so can we please just finish up so I may leave, she STILL chose to walk away and go help someone else for the THIRD time! When she finally got back to me with my copy she said no apologies so I informed her that her customer service was horrible as well as her comments on what my boyfriend should or shouldnt have done. Still no apologies other than Im sorry you feel that way in a way that made it clear that she was not at all sorry. I have been a LONG time customer and I have spent so much money its ridiculous. However after this experience I have NO desire to ever return to this store.

Everyone is really nice and its always clean. Last few times I was there they helped my friends and I with our shopping, but sometimes it seems there arent enough people on staff because the only person on floor is at the cash register and there is no one else to help out.

Dishonest cashiers, dishonest management. They dont offer store help to people who dont look beautiful so if your plain of appearance like myself, expect to be ignored or treated like dirt.Do yourself a favor and shop online or drive to Richmond to visit a major department store or to shop at Sephora instead.

As of 8/20/2015, the staff are rude as hell. I felt as if I was invisible even though I was obviously in need of assistance. It used to be okay a year or two ago, but the current manager needs to give the staff some serious customer service training. I will have to take my business down to the other Ulta in Newport News or SephOra at Patrick Henry Mall.

Ulta is tops for beauty products, advice on product selection, friendly service, and professional stylists that are trained in the latest trends.
