A great place to get a deal on some work-out equipment and anything that deals with sports. A lot of golf clubs and everything is at a good discount for name brand stores. Also sign up for the points to get free items over time

The store is always organized, staff is helpful and I love that its a dog-friendly store. Not a wide selection of camping gear, but I have found things here that I havent seen at other sporting goods stores. I recently bought a pair of really nice Pumas for the gym for only $50, which was surprising since usually, I cant find sneakers i like under $100. The stores location isnt very convenient for me, but its worth the drive!

Great experience,a back up at the register was immediately attended to! The manager on staff, quickly and efficiently, opened five more registers.

I wear size 13 wide shoes so this is the best place I have found to get good quality athletic shoes. The staff is helpful. They have a inventory remote that tells you how many size 13s are in the store and where to find them. Anyone with bigger feet and athletic should try this store, especially during 50% off sales.

Great place to shop! Also has a great selection of wood Pellets and barbecue seasonings and supplies.

They didnt have but one item with salt water fish. Wilmington is deep sea fishing country and the store needs more design options.

BEST BEST BEST outdoor/sports/apparel/equipment store. Its always clean with friendly, helpful staff. Great prices but still always a sale. Slides for the kids are cheaper than the outlets and still yet another 25% off this week. Gotta love it.

They actually had some great deals on shoes, and kids clothes. I think we spent 80 bucks and walked out with 3 pairs of shoes and 2 new outfits for my daughter and one for my boyfriend. Will be back for sure to check out there pistol collection! They were very knowledgeable and had just what I wanted. So ill be back!

Ive spent a couple of hours in your store shopping for a rod and reel over the last couple of days. Today after making a decision, I was told there was no one available in the fishing department to help me set this thing up for a couple of days. The employee that has been doing this for other customers while I have been shopping, told me that he is now too busy, getting shopping carts apparently.Now after using your store and products to find exactly what suits my needs, I will be purchasing it elsewhere.Sucks for both of us, trust me, but I am a man of principle.

Nice sports store that has cheaper prices than other stores and you can pretty much find anything you need.

Guys at gun counter always nice. they never have any ammo though unless you go on truck delivery days which my full time job won’t allow.

They refuse to stock ammo, theyre supposed to be this big player but they cant figure out how to keep ammo on the shelves!

So Academy touts the price match and then nit picks anything to get out of it everytime. The worst of it is how rude and generally unhappy they act when dealing with people. Customers should be your most important thing as a retailer. No customer = No job.

Very much like this Academy store and location. The staff is always friendly, professional, and competent. I was already a huge fan but after a recall on my daughters Christmas bike they went above and beyond to make sure it was sorted out. They got my biz for sure.

This is a very clean store with a very helpful and friendly staff but when it comes to their outdoor sporting goods and hunting they are a severe disappointment

Bad form taking away the ability to order ammo online for store pickup. (Im fine with limiting quantities that can be purchased to give others a chance to buy some.) When the window of opportunity to find popular calibers of ammo in stock is limited to a couple hours of weekday mornings, those of us that work regular hours get the short end of the stick. I do appreciate that Academy has not severely raised prices, but its a moot point when you cant actually buy any.

Maine was looking for steel toe work boots and ended up buying steel toe Ariart boots. And they were very nice 👍.

Has quality stuff and generally reasonable prices. Not their fault, but stock of personal exercise equipment and weights is next to nill currently (just like every other store). Hard to find staff to help but they are friendly when you do. Unable to preorder, get notifications when things are in stock, or get put on a wait list for any equipment.

One of the best sporting and outdoor stores I have been to. Comparable to bass pro and cabelas, with better prices.

Called just now to ask the gun counter if their cotton bore mops had an aluminum or brass core since on their website it was not detailed (one picture was silver and the others appeared reddish from the same manufacturer.) The rep said he did not know. I asked if he could check for me so that I dont have to drive all the way down there unnecessarily and he stated he was the only one behind the gun counter. I then asked if he can send someone else to check and he responded there was nobody else. Thanks a lot Academy for not assisting, even though you could have gotten assistance from someone else in the store but no, you dont like answering one question or answering the phone (such a tough job.) I was just asking way too much (lucky you have a job) and youre being paid way too much to do your job. Now I will focus on mail order moving forward since the store obviously has no need for customers during this pandemic. I figured they would need every sale possible but they must be doing exceptionally well. Good luck.

Same as any other Academy love them and their prices . No ammo right now and they have some UP to 50% of stuff .. but watch that fine print up to ... get some ammo back in and you can have 5 stars.

Always a great shopping experience and thats because the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.

Returned a fishing rod that broke. They do not replace rods that are older than 60 days. It was probably 6 months old. But fishing rods (Penn Battle II) shouldnt break after 6 months. I have other rods Ive fished with for many years. Now that I know Academys policy, Ill not buy another thing from them. Especially a Penn rod.

They have great stuff. I was unable to use the credit card I got from them because if a mistake the office made, then was told by the office that the store could handle it, the store said they couldnt. I think the problem was solved, we will see. I did not receive my 5% discount. Otherwise everyone was very polite and professional.

Was looking for a basketball backboard and found one online but when I got to the store they told me they hadnt had them for several months, after I waited for someone to help me for nearly 20 minutes.

Feeling pretty screwed over came in for a glock 27 saw it was 569 in their store they said they price match and beat by 5 percent they printed a new sticker for the same price I just found on Cabellas website and stuck it to the gun, guess they didn’t want to honor my five percent. It’s okay because sportsman’s warehouse on New Centre discounts my firearm purchases anyways, But was greeted by a gentleman named Ryan helped me find everything I needed.
