Cutest gem in North Chase area!! Clean restrooms, and fast tasty service. I added the decor in the pictures, because honestly I felt right at home or at “central perk”. Family owned and just sweet as sugar. A must try and make it your own hometown coffee shop.

Great customer service, and if you have any kind of issue the Facebook page is really responsive and they make things right. I love stopping here when Im in the area!

This place has consistent and awesome breakfast sandwiches. Coffee is always good! Hannah and Alex are always really nice to my two dogs, Mojo and Nina, in the drive-thru. I cant recommend this place enough!

We tried this place because of the great Google reviews and it did not disappoint! Its a small shop but the coffee is delicious! I recommend the iced mocha (the best in town by far) but my husband gets traditional iced coffee there as well and loves it.

Clean inside. Parking lot very dirty.... Average coffee place in my opinion.

Excellent espresso, drip coffee, Americanos, and lattes. Also, comfortable furniture in a relaxed atmosphere if you want to enjoy your beverage there. They truly live up to their name by brewing in a way that allows you to taste the complex subtleties of the coffee whether it’s smoke, caramel, fruit, floral, etc. Finally, though I have not tried any, they do have a wide array of baked goods such as scones, tarts, and muffins that look delectable. Prices are fair (see menu photo) and baristas are very kind and helpful. Highly recommended.

This place has amazing coffee! as a true coffee addict I approve this place! Their lattes are delicious!The place it’s always clean. I usually see art from local artist hung on the walls. This place it’s a bit far from my house but it’s worth the drive. I’ve had a couple of their baked goods and they are pretty good. Every time I go, I get greeted by someone different but they all are extremely friendly. The place also has Kombucha if you are a fan. I have yet to try it though. There is plenty of tables and chairs if you want to work and there is a couch and games of you just want to chill.

This is my favorite coffee in Wilmington. IdLaId suggest theiretheir Red-Eye. Though perfect black they also offer several dairy alternatives and a lot of great flavorings if your into that. Additionally, they have a great selection of herbal and flavored tea. Youll also find a variety of fresh local baked goods. Highly recommended.

Great coffee and drinks!

This was my second visit. The first was for a Democratic Precinct meeting. A business associate from out of town wanted to meet. He and his lady loved the shop and the blueberry scone-my fav. It is airy, clean, and comfortable. Staff is warm and welcoming. Its going to be a regular stop.

I’ve been meaning to leave this review for quite some time now. I’ve been a huge fan of Port City Java’s Mocha Shake for years. My wife, kids and I live on N. Kerr right behind this shop (The Complex Bean). I decided to stop one day and see if they have anything comparable. Well, let me share that the shake they offer is wonderful and yes I may just say it’s better than their competitors! The girl serving us was very personable and a pleasure to have serve us. Being a business owner myself, I couldn’t ask for anything more in a local business. If you’ve not given this place a try yet then I recommend you do so, Good job guys!

Ive been going to The Complex Bean for a little over a year and have never had a bad experience. Ive tried their hot coffee, iced coffee, and iced lattes and they were all amazing. Their baked goods are incredible as well as their breakfast sandwiches. The baristas are always friendly and helpful, and Ive never had a long wait for my order. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the shop is always neat and clean. I think the prices are reasonable for the quality of coffee or food that you get. Id recommend this shop over a larger chain any day.

I no longer but coffee from the grocery store. I buy my coffee from here, fresh ground made ready to order and its literally cheaper than what I was buying- did I mention better?! The selection as well is awesome. Staff is great, Kaitlyn makes a meaaannnn iced vanilla chai if thats your thing! Great people, great prices & most important ... GREAT COFFEE!

My daughter and I stopped by The Complex Bean this morning on the way to work. What a great little coffee shop. They have done a great job making is comfortable and inviting. I had the hot chocolate because I dont drink coffee and the hot chocolate was great. My daughter had the coffee and she really liked it. We also had a cinnamon roll and that was good as well. The staff was very friendly and we will certainly be back.

By its location you wouldnt think much of it as just a mom and pop place, however this place puts some of the larger more established coffee shops to shame, especially with costumer service, the menu contains gluten free products and they make your order to your specifications. The Complex Bean is a hidden gem.

Its a great place to just sit, relax and enjoy the coffee as well as the exceptional pastries and desserts they offer from different areas of the state. Its a refreshing change from the chains and inconsistent local shops. Im glad I moved closer.

Supreme coffee. Period. Every time I try one of my staple coffee drinks (recently a chai tea latte and a white chocolate mocha) I am insanely impressed with the rich, bold flavor in each sip and how obviously different (for the better) that it tasted from everyone else. It instantly has converted me from buying from typical commercial coffee restaurants. And dont get me started on those delicious cheese danish!

Been going there since we moved to Wilmington a few months ago. Its the best place! Reminds me of a little coffeehouse in the middle of a city: you walk in and youre in a different world. The coffee is top notch (they filter all their water), and the milkshakes are to die for! Also, the peanut butter cookies, baked onsite, are out of this world.

My entire family has a loyal relationship with this coffee shop. Its homey, its delicious, and the service is so enjoyable. Great place to relax or just get some good quality coffee.

Had a wonderful experience at the complex bean. Not your every day, boring coffee spot to hang out, highly recommend.

They went out of their way to accommodate my request. I asked if they made BP coffee. They werent quite sure how to. I asked if they had butter coconut oil and I add cinnamon. They had the ingredients to at least assemble one. Maybe once they get the requests they will have Kerrygold butter for it. As the fats are much healthier, and a richer and creamier taste. Who knows maybe one day they will have Brain Octane oil for us in the know.

I personally like their frappes, but their hot coffees are not the best and it takes a while because they usually only have one person working. Other than that it is a great place to go and they are all nice!

Friendly service and better coffee than Duncans

This is the third time Ive gotten a black coffee from here. The last two times, the cup has leaked coffee out of the seam at the bottom of the paper cup within 5 minutes of receiving it.When I took it back last time, they said it was a known issue. Now, three months later, same issue.Buy different cups!

This small coffee shop in an unsuspecting little strip mall in Murrayville is probably the best in Wilmington.The variety and quality of coffee here is ridiculously good. If memory serves, it all comes from a roaster in Raleigh.For those who can think of anything but coffee in the morning, they have a surprisingly large variety of fresh baked goods, and heartier fares like quiche and breakfast burritos.They also serve smoothies, milkshakes, tea and kombucha (sp?) if thats your thing.The staff is extremely friendly and take pride in their service.If you want to be disappointed, go to the Dunkin Donuts across the street -- youll only find a great cup of coffee here.
