This unique place called Pomegranate Books and Zola cafe is a hidden gem in Wilmington that I discovered shortly after moving to Wilmington about 5 years ago.Zola Cafe roasts their coffees in house and the specialty coffee drinks and teas are creative and full of flavor!I attended a book signing last night with author, Andrew Lawler, who wrote the book, The Secret Token about the myths, obsessions, and the search for the Lost Colony of Roanoke. There was a crowd of over 30 people who attended to hear an excerpt and we were able to engage our curiosity with questions and answers from Andrew. You will always be greeted and assisted by the awesome, well-read people who work there, led by owner and host, Kathleen! They have such a great collection of books, old and new, beautiful cards and gifts, and my personal best place to get Puzzles! Artistic, creative, unique, rare, are all the different types of things you will find there. They even have free wi-fi so you can enjoy a refreshing drink and delicious snacks, while catching up with emails or surfing the web.Our community is a better place because of great local businesses like Pomegranate Books and Zola cafe.
Tasty artisan coffee served by a friendly barista
Super cute coffee shop and bookstore. I was happy that the price was the same for alternate dairy. Will definitely stop again.
Epic coffee shop/bookstore! Fantastic coffee that is all roasted onsite. Wonderful baristas and owner. Love the homemade chocolate for the Mochas!!
Very kind staff, knowledgeable about all our specific coffee questions. Amazing quality drinks! Theyve got a mortar and pestle to freshly grind spices, and have very creative drink flavors that arent too sweet and dont overpower the coffee. Bought three different kinds of drinks and a couple different bags of beans since they roast on site. Got to wander around the bookshop while our beverages were expertly crafted. Definitely stop by here for the best coffee!
Incredibly inviting interior. Knowledgeable staff. Amazing flavors.I had the Moroccan Latte and every flavor was pronounced. The flavor was just sweet enough and the cayenne added a perfect amount of kick. The Ethiopian my husband got as a pour over was very complex; slightly sweet and citrusy with a wonderful aftertaste that lingered on the back of the tongue, almost like a fruity tea.ZOLA knows what they are doing and it shows in their flavors.
Very likely the most unique and intriguing coffee shop in Wilmington. When I first went there I was awed by the Lavender Latte and Green Matcha Latte in the menu. While I am a big black coffee guy, variety is still the spice of life. Do I also love that it is inside a bookstore? Hint: Yes. Perfect place to go read your favorite page-turner on a crisp Saturday morning.
Delicious drinks!Friendly and knowledgeable service.Neat atmosphere in a bookstore.A bit on the slow serving, but worth it the wait!!!If you like drinks on the sweet side- definitely ask for that because they dont make overly sweet- which is better because sweetener can be added and not removed.
Absolutely phenomenal coffee roaster. So many unique options with the best single origin coffee beans. Love that it’s attached to a book shop! What an awesome place to hang out.
By far the best coffee in Wilmington -- and the only place in town that roasts their own beans. Very creative specialty drinks that are made with real ingredients and freshly ground spices, not powdered mixes or syrups. Perfect ambience for getting work done, browsing books, or catching up with a friend. Yes, its a little more expensive than other places in town, but more than worth it for the quality.
Great quality coffee..the owner is super knowledgeable about coffees and the flavor combinations are sublime.. highly recommend this place
Probably the best cup of pour over coffee I’ve ever had. My go to place for coffee and coffee beans when in town. The only con is they are not opened on Sundays AND Mondays.
We got a ice summer tea blend and a ice chamomile tea. Both delicious! Great customer service!
No better coffee anywhere in town, and the folks here truly care about their craft. Had the Kenyan pour-over today, but its all good!
Had a great experience at Zola. The service was friendly and helpful. The coffee and treat I got was super delicious. I had the honey cardamom latte and it was very tasty.
Amazing coffee, roasted in-house and flavored with fresh spices (not sugary syrups). Theres a great variety, with a drink for every palate, including non-coffee drinkers well.
Cookies and drinks were good. Great staff!
What a gem. The turmeric cinnamon latte was delicious. Real coffee roasted in house. #shoplocal
Sweet place with unusual coffees...I had an Almond Butter Clove Latte. Yummy!
Best locally roasted coffee in town and great prices! Comfy little spot too.
The best freshly roasted coffees you will find in town! With delicious, freshly baked pastries!
FANTASTIC cold brew. Seriously. It was like sipping a work of art.
Id forgotten how wonderful a properly made cup of coffee could be!
Cute, quaint spot with awesome coffee and unorthodox takes on classic drinks that work quite well such as the coconut cayenne cappuccino that is to die for.
Fantastic lattes, friendly staff and nice atmosphere - my kids can play in the childrens section while I have an amazing cup of coffee! One of our favorite spots to chat!
Coffee was delicious. Book store is worth checking out
Great recommendation on the coconut milk latte amongst a nice list of specialty drinks.
Their cold brew is amazing and the staff is always super friendly! ☕️
Barista makes the best coffee.. I highly recommend you all try this coffee shop.
