Kenneth is the reason for this low rating. Only allowed me to play an electric guitar through an amp IF I planned on purchasing an amp. So… I’m supposed to bring my own amp to test out guitars? Also, I was playing through a 15 watt Fender amp at level 3 volume. I was scolded to “turn down”. If I am going to spend $1,000+ on a guitar, I’d like to know I can play it and try it out at my rate. Kenneth may just be doing his job, but needs to change his attitude.

Dropped by to pick up some mic cords and they had a good selection of types and lengths at fair prices. Also picked up a nice Ernie Ball guitar cord. Nice store with everything an amateur musician would need and pretty much the same for traveling professionals. Decent selection of guitar strings and guitars which included Fender, Ibanez, Alvarez, Yamaha, Breedlove, Squire and a few others I may have missed. Of course amps, nice drum sets and accessories. Plenty of current sheet music and instruction books for most instruments. They also have a good selection of band instruments for your budding high school musician which you can buy or rent. If you are interested in taking lessons or picking up a new instrument, or need to dust one off and start again, then this is a place worth visiting. Friendly helpful staff.

Fantastic sales and service. Very helpful whether you are buying your first instrument to trading out an instrument. We found them fast and fair. We always get great quality instruments from here also. Easy, convenient payment plans and insurance on the instrument. We are very satisfied with this music store. Highly recommend!

Was buying guitar strings as a gift. I don’t know anything about music and all I had was a picture of my friend’s guitar. Miranda helped me find the ones I needed and was super helpful. I also bought a kazoo for myself so depending on how that goes I’ll probably be back. Thanks!!

This place was really good. They have a really nice selection of instruments. Great condition. The person working there was super nice. Me and my friend jammed on the instruments for nearly an hour and I had a blast. This is a great place to go.

I love this place. They are knowledgeable, helpful, it is clean and tidy and they are honest. My helper ever made me aware of shipping damage on a guitar I was looking at. You can trust people like that, they are a stand-up hometown musical family and it shows and glows!!

The best customer service! Worked with Kenny to pick out my new electronic piano and accessories that had to be special ordered in the color I wanted. He and manager went above and beyond with service! Price was fantastic and even getting a free first online lesson from the company!

Went in a half hour before they closed to get some strings for my acoustic guitar. They had a good selection and the store employee was very nice and gave a good recommendation. Prices were very reasonable. Will definitely go back again for all my instrument and accessory needs.

Greatest place ever to rent an instrument from! Needed to rent a bass clarinet in a smaller case for my son to take as a carry-on during flight to and from Europe. I called our regular high school instrument supplier but they couldnt help. So I called Music & Arts in Wilmington. They were wonderful to work with! They found one for us, and held it til we could get down there from Onslow County. (Other people called after we did, looking for the same thing, but Burt was true to his word and held it!)He was kind, helpful and a pleasure to work with. We also received the promotional discount for the rental and insurance, which saved me extra expenses!I would eagerly recommend this business and Burt to anyone!Thank you so much for helping us!

They have a nice set up for lessons and they are inexpensive!I was greeted and helped right away and the staff really made sure that I got the guitar of my dreams. The selection and quality of the guitars was good. I really got a deal on a guitar that I cant even find on the internet.

For the first time in over 10 years I decided to purchase a new violin and it was a total mistake going through this company.The good: everyone was very pleasant throughout the fiasco. Specifically, the in-store staff until things went sour.The bad: it’s been more than 2 months since placing the order and I’m still having problems!Made an order in early September to be delivered to the local store and faced an emergency. Since I hadn’t received any confirmation or tracking I saw the opportunity to cancel it and get back the funds. So I called customer service and cancelled it. A few weeks later, still no refund. So I made more calls. It was confirmed time and time again that the order was cancelled but no one seemed to know why I hadn’t received a refund not could anyone give me any information on issuing one! At one point, I was in a better position financially and since the money was already taken out of my account, I figured I’d go down to the store and ask in person about what’s going on... if the violin was there, I was planning to take it if it wasn’t, I wanted a refund then and there or soon after...and while the sales associate was on the phone trying to fix this, those were his and my own exact words. They explained something about usps/ups having sent everything back because of hurricane Florence and this is the issue... locating the product. If it were ever in transit, wouldn’t there have been tracking!? Well, it’s not in the store... can I get a refund? His answer is that they can’t issue refunds in the store. At this point it’s been about 20 days and I’m just beyond exhausted with it. I call customer service again to ask where my money is since the order was cancelled nearly a month ago and come to find out the associate renewed the order without my permission! So once again, I cancelled the order with customer service and soon after, called my bank to file a claim. I’ve since received my money back from my bank but 2 months later... I’m STILL receiving emails from music and arts that the item is now on backorder and when I open the account the order shows that it is STILL fulfilled. This is by far THE worst communication system I have ever seen. I don’t know who to hold responsible for this but if you were trying to salvage the sale, you’ve now lost the customer. Such a disappointing experience.***update***It has been 8 months since I’ve placed/cancelled this order and I continue to receive notifications for “my backordered item” despite cancelling the order with the company several times and unsubscribing from their email list. Yet their system seems to still think I’m waiting for this order. Idk who’s not doing their job but at this point, I’d give them 0 stars if I could.

Yeah, so I went in there with my new electric fiddle, asking for some help on tuning it and purchasing a tuner.The owner barely looks at me, and as I gave him the instrument he removed the cord from the case, takes it to the back and had someone else tune it (I wanted to watch but he was kind of gruff, and I felt too intimidated by him to ask). So, I got it back, and asked him if he could show me how to use a tuner, and what tuner to buy. He just pointed and said over there until I asked several more questions.When he finally did help, he was not unhelpful, but he was fairly aggressive about my choice of instrument, and told me that it would probably never tune.Anyway, so I got it home finally, and I realized he had forgotten to put the cord back in the box, AND 2 of the keys on my fiddle are stuck. Granted, I didnt buy the most expensive instrument, but I was able to work with it fine, and got it perfectly reasonably tuned later with a bit of creativity.Seriously though, go somewhere else, they might be the only violin shop I know of, but a long drive to some other city is probably worth it to not have to deal with them.

I ordered a book last month and i still havent gotten yet i called they said it was delivered yesterday i checked the mailbox nothing was in there and checked around my house!!!! i just need my book so i can practice for my concerts.
