My experience with Wilmington Hearing was excellent. I met with Audiologist Chelsea Lewis and found her to be very professional, thorough and pleasant.The receptionist was very nice and helpful. I was grateful that my appointment was on time and I didnt have to wait to be seen by the Audiologist.My tests indicated that I have a very mild hearing loss and didnt require a hearing aid. I feel that they are very honest and didnt try to convince me to consider a hearing device.I am very impressed and will go back in a couple of years to be tested again. I now have a baseline for comparison. I will definitely recommend Wilmington Hearing to family and friends.

Additionally i received a cleaning of my ears by the staff.They did an excellent job.

As always, I was impressed by the performance of the people at Wilmington hearing Specialist. The receptionist handled my appointment very pleasantly, efficiently and directed me to my audiologists who was waiting for me. The audiologist took me thru my hearing review and explained everything in the process. She even showed and interpreted a hearing aid graph, then recalibrated my hearing aid.. In the future, should need to go to the Wilmington office, I know it would be a pleasant experience and so would be at the Southport office.

I have been going to the office for some time. All the ladies are very courteous and attentive to my needs. My dr. has been nothing but patient, helpful and has answered my concerns.Since you are no longer with my coverage plan I might have to switch to the one they recommend. My next appt. isnt until Jan. and I plan to check them out before appt. date as to copay fee ($30). I have no faults with this office.

I made an appt on Monday, for a Friday. I arrived early, filled out the paperwork, give my insurance information, when it came time to see the audiologist, I was met by a clinician who told me that no audiologist was available to do the hearing test, I was also told that the hearing test would costs $80.00, and they needed the ok from my Primary Care Doctor.I spent money (Uber), getting to the appt, to have them give me new tubing when I wanted to service my old hearing aide and purchase a new one; the charge for servicing the old one is $400.00, I laughed.All in all a wasted trip and money spent. I will never 👎 go to this place again.

Dr Cliff Olson referred Dr Maddox,After watching him weekly for sometime on iTunes I was convinced I wanted someone who followed his recommendations for helping with hearing loss. I’m very happy with my hearing test and my new hearing aids I received from her. I was beginning to think most audiologist were just a bunch of crooks out for big paydays. I’m proud to recommend Dr Maddox at Wilmington Hearing Specialists. She knows what she is doing!!

Dr. Maddock is up to date with the technology available to help me hear. She and her staff are most diligent in getting me in to see her when necessary. And, she is a really nice lady. I believe that a person can lose cognitive skills when he/she doesn’t hear well.

After reading the ad about Ms. Maddock I was hopeful she could help with severe tinnitus. While I knew there was no cure I thought maybe she could help as her ad and bio clearly states. No where in here write up did she mention if you wore bell tone, Costco, Sam’s and 2 other brands that she could not or would not help. At no time did she offer to do a hearing test or even look in my ears. They seem to only want payment for office visit. If her ad had stated she would not help if you had certain brand of hearing aids I certainly would not have wasted my time or money. I am disabled and living on limited income so wasting money on co-pay for nothing. Offered no alternatives and was very uncompassionate about my situation and suffering.

Dr Maddock is tops in the field of hearing specialists, and fittings you with a hear aid that helps ( if it will not help you she will not sell it to you) She is not a hear aid sells person, she is a Great Audiologist.Her staff is friendly and helpful.You can’t go wrong going to see her.

So the staff is nice however Dr. Maddock is not honest about the retail hearing aid market and the support those individual companies give us. You see, when you buy an aid from Dr. Maddock. Dr. Maddock in turn buys the aid from the manufacturer. These manufacturers will not support the user(us). Since Dr. Maddock is the purchaser she is the enuser. My aid has been back to the manufacturer countless times for the same issue and evertime it comes back nothing changes. When I call the manufacturer they talk to me but refer me back to Dr. Maddock. When I purchased the aid, Dr. Maddock did not even understand the technology and changed her story at least two times when confronted after purchase. It sad that it cost me money for her errors. I urge anyone purchasing an aid from Dr. Maddock or any other hearing specialist to drill down into the warranty and understand the retailers part vs the manufacturer. I also urge eveyone who are thinking about owning rechargeable aids to rethink this. All of us use lithiumion batteries in our lives in cell phones, tablets and laptops. Think to yourself how long those batteries lasted when new. Then remembered how long the batteries didnt last after a year. The aids are designed to cost us more money after the fact and the rechargeables are money makers for the manufacturer because we cannot replace the rechargeable batteries. My replacement batteries cost $500. Lastly iPhones have lots of support for aid streaming and low power bluetooth. Android does not. If you dont own an iPhone you should not buy from Wilmington hearing specialists. There are other retailers in the area where their audio specialists are younger and more in tune with technology of iPhones vs Android because they grew up with these devices. There are no refunds in the aid industry so beware. Yes you can take hearing aids for a test ride but the cost is high.

My hearing aids, recently purchased from Wilmington Hearing Specialists, work wonderfully and have become indispensable. Excellent customer service. Very capable, very pleasant to deal with.

The only reason it didnt get 5 stars is because the waiting area is not too comfortable. On the plus side Ive never had to use the waiting area for more than a few minutes. Dr. Maddock is very knowledgeable and takes the time to answer questions and discuss options. That is much appreciated in todays health care environment.
