Love this place...Always busy but thats to be expected.The staff is very polite and I usually go here with a group of 10+ adults and they get the orders out extremely quick.

One of only a few places in Wilmington too server Soft-Serve Ice Cream.Theres almost always a line here on warm summer nights. People waiting in line for Blizzards. Remember Blizzards are thick, and the staff is supposed to turn your blizzard upside down when they hand it to you. Some Dairy Queens still have the flip or free policy in place. They always flip mine so Im not sure if flip or free is the policy here.

Size has gone down, price up. Asked for a cup of water with ice. Got half a cup of lukewarm water. She had already started taking order from next person and I would have to had to interrupt to correct.

It was very busy but we promised my 2 year old grandson some ice cream if he was good when he got his hair cut. He loves Dairy Queen ice cream and got a vanilla ice cream cone. I got a vanilla shake and it was very delicious and thick!

The only thing good about this place is the ice cream. The ice cream from places like Burger King is too hard, and every time I bite into it, I get an ice cream headache. Dairy Queens ice cream is soft, just the way I like it. I only go once every 7 years

This location was our families go to for 8+ years until last night. I was watching the staff make the guest in front of us order. Which were different flavor blizzards. What made me decide to review and post was- when the staff used their hands to fill the cup of ice cream that had fallen when they turned the cup upside down. Then preceded to use rag to wipe the sides of the cup. Gross! No wonder the sanitary code was low. I know health is hard to find however training goes a long way. Not going back anytime soon.

Always Yummy... The ice cream isnt always the same size, I always order medium... Hit and miss, but its my money :(I was told it weighed, but we ordered two mediums from same Dairy Queen, each went to a different window. We both received a different size. Just want what we are paying for.

Great product but way too busy!

Good food very rude and slow employees. I went on 6/6 around 9m and the employee with long pink nails and a blonde streak in her hair was incredibly rude and didn’t acknowledge other customers behind us who had been waiting for a while.

Always a great place to stop after lunch. Good people.

9/4/29, @9pm. Drove 15 minutes there, stood in line for 20 minutes, ordered 2 Blizzards, a small and medium. My fiancee who was with me just studied for and took a food service exam this week, and therefore noticed that our server had long brightly colored fingernail extentions, which she said were no-nos in the materials she had to study. As I am standing next to the window waiting, I begin to read the poster about Blizzards on the glass next to the opening where you order, pay and receive your product. The poster makes a big deal out of the fact that the server is supposed to turn at least one Blizzard, in a multiple Blizzard order, upside down to show that they are the correct temperature and consistency and have been prepared properly, (and if they dont, to ask for a coupon for a free one on the next visit). I have been getting them for about 15 years and that has always been the case. Thats why I went to DQ, I love them. I have never before been anything but pleased with my Blizzards from many different locations. I may be wrong, but I seem to also remember that there is a machine that mixes the very cold semi-solid ice cream component, with the various ingredients so they are all properly combined. I looked through the window and saw our server with a long spoon moving in an up-down motion as if she was doing it manually, held by the hands with the aforementioned fingernail extensions. And when she handed them to us, first one, and then a few minutes later, the other, she held neither one upside down. We quickly saw that rather than a stiff, semi-solid consistency like every other Blizzard weve ever had, these were more like melting soft serve ice cream, and that if she had turned them upside down, they would have dripped and fallen out. I glanced up at the poster again and said, It says here that you owe us a coupon because you didnt turn these upside down. She retreated back and talked to a male employee asking where the coupons were, at which point he disappeared. After a few minutes she finally came back and said they couldnt find the coupons and asked if we could move away from the window until they did, so she could take the order of the people behind us, (who by then had been waiting 20 minutes as well). We stood waiting beside the window at the corner of the building as their order was taken for a few minutes, but because of Covid 19 notices placed on the windows we felt uncomfortable that close to others so we moved a few feet around the corner to the window to our servers left, which was closed, but through which we could see the servers between the service window and the machines and product behind them, and they could see us. After no more communication from the employee for a few more minutes as our soft serve Blizzards were melting in the (still at that time of night), 87 degree heat, we decided to leave. I have never had to do anything of this nature, or felt like I should. I ordered a standard product by this business as I have many times in the past, always satisfactorily, but received a sub standard product and very poor service. I saw 3 people working there. A girl at each window, ours was the shorter one, and a male doing various things but not taking orders. They all looked to be in their late teens. Not the way a food service business should be operated. Rant over.

I only eat the medium size, vanilla ice cones, and OMG, they are delicious.In addition, the last 3 times I have eaten there, they were moderately busy with customers. It appears that most of them order more complex deserts than me.

Need to change online hours, only open till 8 due to covid19, showed up at 8:05 and there was a line of cars so i assumed they were open. Waited in line for a good 8 minutes and when we got up to order they said they weren’t taking orders anymore. Do not let cars sit in line and then tell them they can’t order. I asked for a managers phone number and the person working just ignored me and never responded back over the speaker. Not great customer service or communication.

My family goes maybe twice a year for blizzards. They are so stingy with your chosen ingredient and tasted like sour milk the last three visits. Nope. Never again wasting our money.

We went at 9 pm waited a really long time. When we finally received our blizzards they were very runny. My fiancee asked for a coupon because the server couldnt turn them upside down. The guy in charge couldnt find a coupon so we finally left. The girl didnt evem use the blizzard machine to blend his she used his spoon. Very poor experience!!!

I love Dairy Queen. The ice cream is always great and I love so many of the blizzard flavors. I just wish they had more locations closer to my side of town. The closest is in the mall and I would rather not deal with that chaos. But the oleander location is where I normally go even though its out of the way. Cheerful staff and the prices are pretty good for the amount of ice cream you get.

Great place

Always a fan of DQ, however this visit left us waiting in line for almost a half hour. They were busy but with two windows open and only about 10 people in each line, the wait seemed a little longer than it should have been. Also, the Oreo Cookie Jar Blizzard I ordered was handed to me upside down but had the consistency of a milkshake. The rest of our order was good as usual, though.

Always an excellent experience here at this location. It does get pretty crazy busy but well worth the wait for a cold treat all year round. Staff while always seems to be different have always been very polite and nice. I loveee the Reese’s anything here haha little pricey but always hits the spot.

I have been a customer at Dairy Queen for over 60 years and have never had such poor customer service as I have had this afternoon in Wilmington, NC. I ordered a chocolate nut sundae, as I have ordered many times before, and was told nuts would cost extra. As this has NEVER been mentioned before, I asked Really? The server said they have always charged extra for nuts and I said I have never been told that before.I gave him my card, ordered a box of sandwiches, too, and the owners daughter-in-law said her family has owned this DQ for many years and have always charged extra for nuts. I told her I am paying what it costs, but just that I had not been told that before. She said I was welcome to go elsewhere. I asked if she was refusing my business and she said I can. Long story short, I got my money back and will not come here again.

It was hot, my kids were a bit cranky from the beach and Dairy Queen delivered a cool treat and smiles. My son had the strawberry with Ghirardelli pieces in it and my daughter had the cotton candy blizzard. Both let me know how good it was. So Im doing the review on their behalf.

Very disappointed. We told them our order she took order and told us how much it was and did not speak to us other than that, looked as if she wanted us to just go away and thats what she did, grabbed her drink and went to the back. The other person working there fixed what we ordered and also never spoke either, no smiles or even look at us. Just set our stuff on the counter and walked away. This was the DQ in the mall in Wilmington NC. Dont have worry about us spending anymore money there.

It would be helpful if you form one line and then go to the window that opens next. Tonight it was not crowded around 8:30. The couple in front of us made it difficult for the clerk inside. We stood waiting for 15 minutes. Meanwhile large families go to other windows on the other side of the building, get their desserts and drive off before I can place my order. This is not the first time this has happened to me and my family. Ill question whether I go here again. And by the way no beard guards are being worn by the men working.. gross

The young man at the window last night was pleasant, efficient and even helped us decide what to get. I have been many places that they really dont care if you order anything or not. What a nice way to end our family outing on Moms 84th birthday.

My sister and I just went to this location on 9/11/19 at 10:15 pm and it is posted online and in person that it closes at 11 pm. The woman inside glared at us, refused to open the window, and turned off the lights and the open sign right in front of us. Another couple also walked up and she refused them service as well, even when they too questioned her about the hours sign. She just stood inside and glared at them. This employee was extremely disrespectful and we will never go there again. I’m not sure why she is employed by this location if she refuses service during posted business hours.

The service at this location was quick especially with 4 ordering windows. The ice cream was fresh and the many different items, make the decision hard😊. What a great problem to have.

Since its tourist season they were very busy. Products, vanilla cone and chocolate blizzard(🍌 pecan and chocolate chip) were excellent as always. Take your 🐕 and ask for a dog cup. Small serving of the vanilla and best of all, its free😀

The Dairy Queen on Oleander is always top notch. Ive been going there for over 20 years, sometimes randomly and sometimes regularly but they always have a good staff and a very consistent product.
