Love this place!!! They have it all: sweet and savory, classics and originals, with and without caffeine. The prices are quite reasonable for the quality and wait times are short, even if the place appears busy. They are very covid friendly (masks required and hand sanitizer available). Indoor and outdoor seating available, in a charming atmosphere. Be sure to check out their location at the Cobblestone Market too!
Hands down my favorite bakery in Winston Salem. This bakery is a vendor at the cobblestone farmers market, and all their items are lovingly made and extremely delicious. Their blueberry muffins are the best we’ve ever had, and their country sourdough is a family favorite. They slice the bread for you upon request too! You’ll want to get to their store before 11am if you want to see all their options though - they sell out quick! The cappuccino is expertly crafted, and I love their various seasonal drinks and syrups they make. Absolutely worth a visit if you wanting delicious local baked bread and pastries.
If I had to summarize my experience here I would say it is okay. The coffee tasted watered down and left an acidic after taste, not smooth at all. The elderflower spritzer was alright but certainly not worth going out of your way for, and the quiche was really good but you have to take it back home and reheat it, unless you like cold quiches, I dont know your life.
The coffee is great which I knew would be. Even though this was my first time here. Definitely wont be the last. What surprised me was the everything bagel with fresh herb cream cheese. That was the best bagel Ive had since my visit to NYC. Love that Ive found a great coffee shop with amazing bagels this close to home. Outstanding!
Very nice little shop. I got their lavender matcha. It was very earthy, which I personally love. My girlfriend got their seasonal Thai tea drink. It personally didnt remind me much if Thai tea, and the coconut milk was a bit overpowering, however Id say it had a pleasant taste.
Everything is good here, highly recommend a cinnamon roll if you are lucky enough to get there when one is available. The seasonal menu is wonderful but honestly the best part of picking up a coffee here are the employees who are patient with my menu indecision and offer suggestions.
Very poor customer service. Ordered online they did not make my coffees till I had been there over 15 minutes. They were like we do not start them till you tell us when you get here. There are no signs or no way to know this. It’s the most ridiculous system especially off putting for new customers. I wasted time and money on this place. It does not save time to order online. Would go elsewhere.
Not only is their sourdough not sour at all, but their garlic rosemary is very mild on the rosemary flavor and we could taste no garlic whatsoever. Come on guys. If you are going to charge five dollars a loaf for bread at Whole Foods, let’s make a good competitive loaf where you can taste the flavors you’re claiming to have. Good texture on your bread though.
The pumpkin bread is over the top! I love the spices! Happy Baking! ❤️🥐🥯🍞🥖
My family loves stopping by this coffee shop everyone is so warm and friendly! The new seasonal menu is the BOMB♥️
Cute space, lots of good baked treats on offer. The barista looked puzzled when I ordered an espresso and the only offering was a unpleasant blend. I’d give three stars if it weren’t billed as a bakery.
Very nice smaller bakery. Really enjoy their seasonal horchata, and their French breads, cinnamon bread, and cookies are really excellent. Theres a few tables inside and out but they fill up quickly. Staff is always friendly, prices are good, and they do two for one breads after 4 during the week, as well as provide a loyalty rewards program.
I love this place for the best quality pastries, artisan coffee /hot drinks and healthy sandwiches. Great location in Old Salem. We always stop when passing thru W-S.
Odd location. Less than pleasant staff. Decent food and drinks but not worth the hassle/unwelcomin staff.
Excellent service. Delicious tomato danish, fresh fruit danish, blueberry muffins.
Very pleasant bakery and coffee shop. I had a bagel and a wonderful cup of coffee out on the porch. Enjoyed an interesting conversation with guest, Mark, where we tried to solve the worlds problems, locally.
Walked to bakery after recent knee surgery. Followed directions to correct entrance. As I was entering and attempting to put my mask on Matthew comes OUT the entrance door nearly knocking me over and yells put your mask on.I was startled by his coming out the door designated Entrance I was alarmed byhis lack of concern that I nearly lost my balance. And again said put your mask on as I am trying to recover from the incident of loosing my balance and lack of concern for my safety. The tables outside were rabbly and wet. Went inside to request help to wiping them off. He came out in a slow fashion. My fork fell on ground, requested a clean one and he responded when you ask nicely.Wont return again where rudeness is tolerated and employees dont have to follow entrance and exit directions if for no other reason but safety.
This place is the freshest of fresh bakeries! I liked the original Caminos, but this one really hits home. It’s right off the bike path and I come here to enjoy a good coffee, danish or turnover after a good spin. Inside, it’s like eating inside a bakery - actually, it is eating inside a bakery! My favorites are the fresh fruit danish and chorizo turnovers. Staff is always helpful. Bike parking is available as well as typical car parking.Edit: April 2019. This place just got better with more seating!
Staff was really friendly and they doing a great job with the pandemic. I loved their veggie quiche and the cappuccino was fabulous! Glad to see that the cappuccino is a real cappuccino. Had a nice outside area to eat.
Just go to Bobby Boy, the baked goods are better, they pay their employees better, give better benefits, and use real parmesan
Found myself in Winston early one morning for car service. Wanted a good bagel so I utilized the Google machine and it brought me here. This used to be another bakery under another name. Cool spot on the corner. Lots of parking in back. Enter in back. Exit through front. Three very nice young ladies were in there and very helpful and patient. Bagels were good. $2.00 each (cream cheese extra so I passed since only do individual servings). Cranberry Orange scone was tasty. My dining partner thought it was too soft. I found it fantastic. The Everything Breakfast Hash quiche was a dense, hearty quiche. I liked it alot. Huge piece. The organic sourdough bread ($5.00 I think) is a huge loaf. Not your usual tangy sourdough but more like an exquisite white bread. I enjoyed it. This is a very nice spot and the people that have this in their neighborhood are very lucky.
Clean and simple little corner coffee place. Knowledgeable staff and yummy baked goods.
Continues to be outstanding in every way. Curbside pickup is awesome, bread, pastries and drinks are always well done.
Death by Chocolate is best vegan brownie in the Triad. That’s right, I dare you to top it—‘cause then I’ll go eat that!I actually usually get it on 4th Street, but they originate at THIS Camino Bakery—the one with the bakery inside, & a few tables, too. Great friendly staff are common to both locations!Would recommend to a friend!
I pre-ordered yeast rolls and a loaf of sourdough bread for Thanksgiving and it was the best decision. Yeast rolls, warmed in the oven, were so fluffy and tasty and the sourdough bread made for great sandwiches with leftovers! Camino staff did a great job having all pre-orders packaged and ready to go. Pickup was a breeze and I appreciate that all staff wore masks!
Lovely coffee spotGreat for those sunny days
If you want to try an incredible coffee, ask for whatever new thing theyre making. When they tell you it may sound unusual but its always amazing.
They have the best San Francisco sour dough bread and mock chicken salad! I love their banana chocolate chip muffins too as an occasional treat. Best bakery in town!
Absolutely delicious! The staff is very nice!
Wonderful baked goods and drinks. If youre in a rush for an espresso drink, Camino is slow, but worth it. Expect 15 to 20 minute waits on weekends in particular.
Great options for anyone- gluten-free, vegan, nut-free, etc. Fresh pastries, baked goods, and a varied drink menu allow for trying something new each visit (of which there have been many. I have never been disappointed). The granola bar, something I wouldnt normally get at a bakery, was absolutely delicious and is a great testament to Caminos quality and care.
WOW! Playful delicious flavors.
I love Camino Bakery, especially on Camino Cookie Thursdays. Im supposed to get cookies every week, but sometimes I have to get my own cookies, which is an unfair burden. 😒
Choose from the recently expanded indoor seating area or cozy outdoor seating when you stop by for coffee, pastries, or lunch. Located in a quieter area of town, this Camino location is the perfect getaway to meet a friend, get some work done, or just sit quietly with a cuppa and a good book. Seasonal drink menus, daily specials, and freshly baked breads and pastries are just the beginning. Camino also has a commitment to showcasing local artists, being good stewards of the earth, and contributing to the community.
Cute place, good pastries and great service!
I love this location. It always has a happy vibe and its easy to get in and out of.their parking area. Their bread loaves are very tasty too.
Camino Bakery is taking lots of precautions during the pandemic. Their food is delicious as always. You cannot eat there at the moment, so plan ahead for take out only. Support local, would hate to see this place disappear like others have.
Our favorite baristas live here!
My favorite little hidden gem in Winston and a great local bakery!
Very glad to have this as an alternative to the Camino downtown. Usually less of a crowd here and more peaceful. My last visit I wanted a berry pastry badly and the woman in front of me ordered the lady one. Sad times. They didnt have any extra so I guess the only downfall is a limited amount of their baked goods. I was still very happy with the croissant I got though. Good place to study or get some work done.
Love this coffee shop! They serve counter culture coffee, so every coffee is robust and flavorful. They also have a large selection of non coffee drinks as well. Their bread is absolutely delicious, ask about their bread specials. On Sunday you can get 2 loafs for the price of 1! They also have a great selection of vegan and gluten free food options that are very tasty. The only downside is that theyre always busy, so not an ideal place for a quiet coffee shop to work in, but the atmosphere is great and its a wonderful place to have coffee with friends.
If ur not going to Caminos for coffee then what are you doing
As always great everything! Super impressed with the safety practices in place. Best I have experienced.
Out of the two locations were familiar with, I like this one the best. Its small, cozy, and out of the way. The only downside is the small amount of parking around the area, which is mostly due to being the older part of town. I love their bakery items.
My favorite bakery in Winston-Salem by far. I love the everything swiss croissants and enjoy the seasonal drink menu as well. Go check it out and see for yourself! :)
Great place to get some delicious fresh coffee and pastries!
If youre uncomfortable about venturing out to a coffee shop: you shouldnt be a Caminos at Brookstown which recently re opened. Not guite a strict as a hospital but, darn close. Well done Caminos and welcome back.
Charming Coffee show with a wide selection of coffee and fresh made desserts and baked goods. Service was friendly and quick. Seating is limited and folks tend to linger making it difficult to find a place to sit. This is especially true on rainy days since the outdoor seating gets wet. Great stop for dessert or coffee.
I could stay on a diet if your scones weren’t so delicious. This is a wonderful place to have a great coffee and whatever baked good speaks to you. There are lots of delicious choices to tempt you. It’s just a great place to read a book and enjoy high quality treats.
I always stop here when I’m traveling through Winston. Amazing bread! They truly know how to do sourdough.
This bakery should be embarrassed with the shoddy work they produce. My best friend got a cake from here to thank her coworkers after getting recommendations on where to get a cake. She paid $60 for a complete joke. I don’t know who writes on the cakes here, but she wanted “Thank You” on it. What she actually got (photo attached) is “Thanks You.” Really?! I literally can’t even. When brought to the attention of the employee working, the employee insisted repeatedly that it was spelled correctly. How is “Thanks You” correct?! Apparently, they teach a different version of English here. My friend left to fix the cake herself, which is completely unacceptable. This bakery should have fixed it IMMEDIATELY and apologized for THEIR mistake. My friend should have not had to leave distressed to fix the cake. She should have received what she paid for!To top it off, the cake was missing a freaking raspberry. It was nowhere to be found, and there’s only one place it could have been - which is in the box. My friend had to go to the grocery store to replace it. Utterly ridiculous. Not to mention, the spacing between the frosting/raspberries was atrocious. They were not AT ALL spaced evenly. Once again, see attached photo.I cannot understand why this place is so recommended because their craftsmanship is horrifying. A cake from the grocery store would have been better looking and cheaper! If you want a cake that looks like a kid did it, this place is for you.
I am so glad Camino Bakery is open again. I am about to make sauce and meatballs since I have great bread.
I always enjoy my visits to Camino, but the Brookstown location is the best for meeting up with friends. Its typically a but calmer than 4th street. And while there isnt much parking, Ive always been able to find a spot.
This place was fine. It was suggested by a friend and we made the mistake of bringing our kids with us - NOT kid-friendly. Its a pretty hipster-y scene, over priced and my chai latte wasnt even that good. Also really slow.
I look forward to my once-a-year visits to Winston-Salem and the opportunity to visit Camino! Whether Im craving something sweet, like their cinnamon rolls or banana walnut bread, or Im ready for an egg salad sandwich for lunch, they never disappoint! Its also a great place to sit and get a little work done while I enjoy my tea or lemonade. ❤ Camino!
Camino Bakery @ Brookstown is the epitome of cozy coffee shop realness. Its the place you want to be when its raining outside and you just want to be safe and sound in the dry with a cup of Camino-brewed -insert beverage- in hand. The problem with that is this: so is everyone else. Get there before the rain if you want a seat on the weekend as there are fewer than 6 tables. Limited bakery selection here, it seems.
This is my favorite coffee shop in the area. I love that they have gluten free and vegan pastries!
One of the best coffee shops and bakeries in town. This is their second location and they do have very limited indoor seating and space but make one of the best espresso drinks, fresh and non bitter coffee, plus their pastries and 🍞 are always on point.
Youll see me here every weekend and sometimes in between too because it is too good to go just once a week! The magical coffee and blueberry muffin is my regular order. Lots of great baked goods - try the tomato pie as well!
Best croissants in NC! Have to go to Cafe du Monde in NOLA to beat them. Very good coffee as well.
Ordered an everything bagel with my coffee and it was one of the best bagels that I have ever had. try it with the jalapeño cheddar cream cheese, it is delicious
This has been my favorite W-S coffee shop over the past couple of years. Such a cozy spot and so many amazing Gluten Free treats. I will truly miss this place when I move next month.
Great coffee and baked goods, staff is very friendly. Small interior space but there is much more space now that they have converted the old baking area to more seating.
Best croissants in the city, hands down. Counter Culture coffee, local charm, perfection
Comfortable atmosphere to enjoy high quality food and drinks served with pleasant efficiency. Appreciate the decaf tea options they offer.
Nice bakery will lots of fresh breads and pastries. Pleasant staff good coffee and a friendly crowd. College kids eat and play here in this trendy neighborhood.
This place is fantastic! Everything we had while visiting was great. We went back daily while in Winston. The quiche slices are huge!
Another reason to avoid Starbucks whenever possible. Caminos coffee is vastly better. I prefer the soy latte myself. Their pastries are great, too.
Friendly, helpful staff. Good coffee with great bread and treats. Frequently pick up an assortment of treats for any important work meeting for out of town guests.
Good coffee
Love Caminos! Great coffee and people!
Camino has very good pastries and coffee. I also like their bread. My favorite is the challah. On Thursdays they offer half-price cupcakes which is a great deal.
Great coffee, lots of pastry. To many for just one visit. Well have to come back and try more
Having a Magical Coffee. Very delicious for a hot and muggy day. Near Brookstown Inn and Salem College. Staff is very helpful and friendly!
Fantastic coffee and wonderful baked goods. Its a great morning stop.
Great service, excellent baked goods. Small interior, best for take-out.
Yummy baked good and good coffee in a cute and historic setting. Highly recommended.
Love their bakery and coffee. Nice people and great food.
Cant make Spain? Be inspired by Camino! Make a friend!
Best coffee, very friendly staff. come almost everyday!
Excellent spicy apple cider and perfect croissants 😄 Both are hard to find but they nailed it here. Also love the Camino logo and what it represents 😊
The bread is super fresh and the employees are really nice.
Amazing coffee and baked goods and a casual atmosphere.
Too crowded! I feel like Im in a closet here. Service is slow. Not impressed, wont go back on a Saturday morning. Other times of the day may be ok.
Eventhough its smaller than the 4th street Caminos, the flavor of the place is still unique.
Cool little cafe. Tasty egg souffles and the almond horns are exquisite.
The fall seasonal orange hot chocolate is incredible. Nice space, too, for sitting and enjoying quiet time.
Great food, great drink, great atmosphere!
Love this place because of its plant based Options!
Great expanded space behind the counter to sit and work, recommend the danishes
Excellent coffee, pastries & artisan bread.
The new expansion has really helped. Allows for a more relaxed/less cramped feel and the coffee and food is a good as ever!
They make sourdough French bread the closest Ive had to the real stuff from San Francisco. Plus excellent coffee and tea lattes.
They have some damn delicious sandwiches, drinks, and desserts. I know the elderberry syrup and mint fizzy drink is probably seasonal but it was so good!
Good coffee. Friendly service. Cozy atmosphere.
