I feel really sad that I missed the cafeteria. I got there late. The self checkout kiosk is a bit confusing and time taking. Its not intuitive and it asks too many questions. But the staff gave directions and I was able to checkout finally.Theyve great deals all around. I got the 3 for 3$ chockolad . And it was delicious. I was really expecting milk chocolate with a swedish taste. And it didnt disappoint. They also had great deals on cups, platesAnd bowls for less than a dollar.Plan to spend at least an hour or two to cover the entire area !
Well its an Ikea, good service and neat! Lets talk about the real deal, just get those Swedish meatballs. It would be nice to have a kiosk to order food when on the line.
Good, but cafeteria seating is limited due to Covid-related restrictions.
READ THIS BEFORE BUYING SOMETHING THAT HAS TO BE ASSEMBLED.Worst experience ever. I bought a bed that I had to assemble. The parts were the wrong size and it was the ones at the very end so I had already assembled most of the bed. I had to cut boards and drill new holes. Thankfully I own a table saw but I bet most people do not. The whole thing is so cheaply made and unsafe that I put 2x10 boards over the top which is what they should have done in the first place. I will never buy anything from them again. Their products are cheap, badly designed and unsafe. They said it would take 2 to 3 hours to put together and the whole project ended up being 14 hours (which includes a home depot trip), plus I had a professional doing the assembly who was doing good work. A very, very bad experience. Posting pictures so there is proof. I should take the whole experience to small claims court. I wouldnt buy anything that has to be assembled from them. There is a 3/4 inch by 3/4 inch board with a mere four screws into weak particle board on each side supporting the entire weight of two people which is clearly unsafe (yes, I am an engineer). Very badly designed so I just went to Home Depot and put 2x10s over the entire top so it was safe. You can see from the pictures the cuts I had to made. I also had to drill a couple of new holes. They had put slats in that were the wrong lengths and two of the top boards had to be cut and ...yes... they were the right boards because at least all the holes lined up. How did this get through quality control? I heard their furniture was cheap and that was certainly my experience. What a mess. Thanks to the negative responses on my post in Reddit I made a special point to post my pictures. I suspect that there are people being paid to disparage people like me when I post about a bad experience at Ikea. The responses were amazingly quick like someone was waiting and watching. Well, look at the pictures.
IKEA is always a constant. I miss it when Im away and when I return I dont want to leave. They are made of dreams and hope and wonderful plans. Someday, I will be able to live the IKEA dream. It was sad the escalator was closed and there wasnt an obvious sign telling us to use the elevator. As usual noone was really around to help but thats expected right?
Don’t waste your weekends at ikea.1) They’ve run out of inventory2) what’s on the shelf are most likely going to be defective (lately I’ve had terrible experiences with the furniture). The quality control is no longer the same.3) They’re stock piling stuff to force you to buy online.I was interested in a reclining chair and they happened to have one left in the bin and several stacked up next to them.I spoke to 2 members of their staff. One outright said there was no way they could sell the ones that were stacked up until they restock it next week. (lol)I had to ask them if they were suggesting that I spend 2 hours driving there again, to buy something that’s on the shelf right in front of me.The second person I met in aisle 27 (carpets) apologized because they couldn’t find the carpet I wanted either, which showed up as available on their inventory. And added that they felt it was absurd that several items is available online to purchase but not in the store, although they’ve been stockpiling their inventory.I guess I’ve had enough of wasting part of my weekend at this store.
Easy shopping in many ways...confusing in other ways.A display for a play unit showed 3 different storage bin sizes but in the pick up area, Aisle 11 bin 5, there was only two of the bin sizes. Had to return upstairs to the display to get the third (largest) bin. A little bit of an inconvenience. Just more steps and exercise.Self check out is really convenient. Beautiful displays, design and placement ideas. Like the loading area as well. Thanks.
Since COVID 19 started in 2020 IKEA been selling what ever items they had in warehouse posted on floor for sale and filled the all empty shelf’s just to make it like have still business going well from one sample on shelf’s they made 200 sample one shelf to fill the empty spots and may even have the items on floor but when you go down to pickup your selected items not available on shelf’s and say come back next week or place or on line and pay $45 for one single item to be shipped? My concern is if you don’t have it removed it from sale floor so it doesn’t attract the customers also as you can see dark chocolate bar is no good see the photo who knows how long been sitting at ports. Thank you
My first experience today was just as everyone forwarned me on:-Dont get lost-You need a cart & bag-You will get tempted over the meatballs at the end of that maze-Use shortcuts, the cart fits throughGreat deals on furniture that feels light and is easy to assemble. Definitely worth the 20 mile trek 👍🏼💯
Store was fairly well stocked but still didnt have everything I needed. The marketplace was well stocked and organized. Some of the warehouse labeling could be better to find smaller parts. Still it was better than the College Park location.
Always great selections and stock with helpful employees. Plus the food is never bad!!
Normally, I would give them a five, but their stock is low. Did not see a lot of items they normally have. I will give them a 5 because they do enforce wearing masks. If you dont wear a mask, you are not getting in. Yeah!! Ridiculously long, time-sucking checkout lines. I left my merchandise and left the store. No matter what you sell, it isnt worth it if you have to stand in line to pay because of under staffing and I dont want to stand in line long during a PANDEMIC!!! HIRE SOME EMPLOYEES.
Second time within the last several months, i recieve my orders as they miss the entire box no 1 or 2. I dont know what to say. Its not a rocket science, all it takes double check before you load the order. Its IKEAs responsibility to know how many boxes should be there. When I reach out to customer service they advised me to go to store which like 60 miles trip. They forgot to load my order and telling me that I should drive to store. I think this was really the last time I bought anything from IKEA. Lack of customer service can not be replaced with anything, as they do not care anymore about customer I think. There are other brands similar price even better quality. I know IKEA doesnt care about losing 1 or 2 customers. Nothing is like on their advertisements. 2nd time you forgot to load my product to my vehicle is too much.
I can rely on any IKEA product undoubtedly! I believe, you must enjoy visiting IKEA showroom and the marketplace as well. The marketplace is well organized since items are easily accessible. In terms of price and durability of the products, you gonna find an absolutely perfect combination here, I bet!
Good but all good items are unavailable
Love IKEA! Great furniture at great prices. Very friendly staff! Kyle, who volunteered to help me load my heavy items, stopped to help others load their cars too. Very impressive!
A fun place to window shop, buy all household items. Euro design. A small food store too. I have shopped Ikea for 37 years in the US and a few lucky stops in the UK.
Great as always, New items and new decorations /setup every time we visit, organized clean great customer service, Now they have self checkout very quick and organizedThe food court is excellent as always with the quality and Is valueRestaurants are always immaculately cleanparking is plenty and easy
—Strongly discourage ordering online—This review is for the “delivery” option. We recently purchased a Hauga combination unit that said it was in stock, but only 1 part of it was delivered. We had to call customer service, only to discover they wouldn’t deliver the remaining parts to us, would make us drive to a store to pick them up, and refused to refund our delivery fee. When asked if we could speak with management, we were told, “There’s no option for that in the system.” Do not order online, it is unreliable.
I had a good time in the store as always. I had to get out of there because so many nice things to buy.
Personally, I adore this Swedish super store for its creativity in design, simplicity in assembly, clean cut looks and above all dedication to sustainability. They have brought in a round of vegetarian options in the cafe that allows you to keep shopping the whole day. Well thought-out layout, innovative designs and brightly lit store aisles welcome you.
I lost my phone in this gigantic store and wasnt even sure where I left it. I asked an associate by the name of Brandon to help me out and he helped me comb the store for it. Rebecca another associate came into possession of it and with Brandons help and navigation around the store I got my phone back . Thank goodness! These associates were personable and helpful so glad they work there and helped me in my hour of need. They helped round off an excellent shopping experience, and I am so thankful!
It’s an IKEA - prepare yourself to spend three hours of your day there. Latest trip was pretty disappointing- lots of items out of stock, discontinued items still displayed in showroom only to find them not available in the marketplace, app saying items available but no where to be found in the store…
Went with my sister to look at potential storage solutions for our board games. I did feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of people but thats a Sunday for you. The store was organized and plenty of places to sanitize your hands.
Extra crispy chicken fingers (too crunchy he said) i had swedish meatballs (i recommend with gravy and jam) gonna go again
Ive never been so i wanted to go just to see what all the hype was. I wasnt really impressed. Its a bit confusing how do i purchase things? There are no tags to take to a counter. Then somethings you just carry. Its huge and layed out like rooms in your house. Just not for me i guess.
Great experience and great store. Only issue is that it requires assembly but is easy. This depends in your skill and agility.
Such a fun store to visit. Try the Swedish meatballs if youre hungry while you shop. Great home furnishings with cool ideas too.
Its fun to wander thru and get ideas and even pick up some new stuff sometimes.
I love the place, but so much is out of stock. Recommended checking the website each morning, then using click and collect, otherwise they might not have what you want by the time you get to the store.
Love IKEA. First trip ever today, great value here definitely will be back
Click and collect service was timely and very easy. Great service!
I picked up my merchandise from the market and grabbed a snack across from the check center with ease. My entire shopping experience was less than 30-minutes. Good Job Ikea!
I love the price it’s very convenient easy to shop found so many items
One of our favorite places for furniture and food. IKEA has good priced, great quality furniture with options of delivery and to have someone build your product for you. The food there is like the furniture; great price, great quality. Dont forget to take some frozen Swedish meatballs home!
Usually satisfied here (Click & Collect has been great), but ONE person working at Returns & Exchanges at 10:45AM with a line of ten people waiting is unacceptable (to their credit, they finally had three people working the desks by 11:05). The subsequent 20 min. wait cost me $8 because I had to extend my Zipcar van a half hour, and could have cost me a $25 to $35 parking ticket given that I was 25 minutes delayed in my return to my car parked in Arlington.
We arrived at 9:30 we were 3rd in line. The store as always easy to navigate. I have a couple of furnitures on my list for a new baby room. So we were taking our time and just enjoying the store as any couple with young kids do at Ikea.Note: We planned our Sunday for Ikea because we have attempted many times to go but the line is crazy long esp the weekend. The restaurant at Ikea Woodbridge is open and the staff are amazing. As paranoid as I am since the pandemic, I am impressed with how systematic they are at the restaurant. Everyone is practicing social distancing and are all wearing masks, tables are well spaced. Food is great as it always have been. :)
Staff were phenomenal in assisting us build a perfect cabinet for our upcoming baby. However, when it came to check out was another story. The process of getting out cabinet wasnt explained to us and it took us almost 20mins to get the answers as all the customer service venues were empty or the one where someone actually was at was already actively helping another family. People were waiting around for awhile for that one guy. Needed more staff/customer service staff.
Friendly staff, taking the steps needed in the pandemic times to make sure people and employees alike are safe. Have to say the only issue one might have with this store is a small one. If your item is out in the furniture aisles up in stock up top, you will have to wait until the next day to get it! Will be going back without question!!
The location is no different from any other Ikea. The difference is that we didnt like their consultation on kitchen renovation. We put our name on the wait list. We waited for an hour. And the consultation we got was not helpful. We wanted a ballpark estimate. All we got was it depends. She didnt provide any options to explore. We had to keep asking questions. And at the end we learned that it will be vaguely expensive and difficult to get the kitchen renovated through Ikea.
Really enjoy looking at all the interesting products. I can always find something to buy. The food is always good as well.
The store is huge and we loved the items we bought in from there. Must visit if you are setting up your own home..plethora of decorative items to decorate your home.
This was much better than the one in college park. It had more available items
This IKEA is a little smaller than most others I have been. Though it is still a great place to shop. The food was average for IKEA, which is good.
Great IKEA location. They have a great inventory of items unlike other locations. I would recommend this location because they will more likely have what you are looking for in stock. Also getting your items to your car to load is much easier.
IKEA is great! All stores seem to be the same, but this store is usually busy (maybe they all are?). There is incredibly cheap furniture here that got me through college, and there is also lots of nicer offerings as well. Always worth a visit and it’s fun to walk through even if you don’t buy.
Awesome atmosphere, great staff, good prices, and fantastic food? (highly suggest the veggie dog)When I went, a lot of items were out of stock, but I see no reason restocking wont come soon. They did have everything I needed though, and likely will for you too!Its IKEA, its not perfect but its dang close. The quality of items varies, but in my opinion it varies from good to amazing! Seriously, no complaints! Overall, I can see why others give less than 5 stars, but my experience absolutely deserved all 5.
One of my favorite stores. I never leave empty handed.
Clean and not crowded when I went. Unfortunately several items were not in stock even though the tags in the display room said otherwise.
Placed an online order for large items that require being home for in-house delivery. Order is now a day late and Ive been chatting with customer service and theyre not able to give me any details on where my order is. Last mile service confirms that it hasnt been received by them yet. A frustrating scenario and IKEAs customer service isnt helping.
I love IKEA! I can never get out of the Marketplace. Returns can sometimes take a while when only one or two customer service registers are open. Some of the employees don’t seem super eager to help, but most are friendly and helpful.
It is a very fun experience to wander through IKEA and make an entire half day out of the store! I recommend just taking one simple room at a time and coming back multiple times because otherwise it can get so overwhelming ! They have meatballs and an entire Floor dedicated to food! Photos as of June 2018
You cant beat their supply chain model. It is smooth from the time you order, pick up, or delivery to you on the side of the location, . pick it up and drive off. The system is fantastic! Price is a great too.
One of our favorite place, we used before covid-19 to use the kids zone, and still love to eat lunch there 🤤 we’re lucky to have ikea in the area and we love the big space with big free parking space and finding some swedish products
IKEA’s experience is always great and predictable. However, this time and at this location, there were not a lot of things I was looking for in stock. I went to get a desk, office chair and shelves and 70% of what I wanted from the showroom was not in stock. Definitely not the experience I was expecting after a long ride there.
I really like the experience. I went to the one in MD the same day and i could tell the different. This one has more extensive variety of products and more organized
I have never written a review online but I just have to share. We drove an hour to get help with a sofa and chaise since it’s so hard to tell what’s actually in stock online. We got there 10 minutes after they opened and the store was not busy. We asked for help from an employee who was complaining about how swamped she was and seemed stressed/annoyed. We told her which model sectional we wanted and she put together a print-out of what we thought was the sofa, sofa cover and chaise frame and said everything will work together, all I need to do is keep an eye out online for the chaise cover which was fine. Totally not her fault that things weren’t in stock, so we obviously understood that issue. We then went to the self service and found everything on the print-out she gave us, paid, and set up the delivery which was $90. When everything arrived, we were half way through putting the sectional together when we realized she put the wrong part on our print-out (loveseat instead of the sofa we wanted). So our covers didn’t fit the loveseat as they were for a sofa, nor will they attach to the chaise. Called customer service and they were not helpful at all and said it was not IKEAs fault & we’d have to find a way to return the loveseat which won’t fit in our cars (hence why we had to pay delivery & we live an hour away) plus the sofa part is now NOT in stock and we have to wait again for it to come in and they may or may not be able to deliver it. This was totally the fault of the store/associate and needless to say there is zero chance I will ever buy from IKEA again.
I guess I should have been more patient, but customer service was awful and I ended not getting anything. I gave two stars because by the time we were sent to a third service member, they actually tried to help but ultimately were unable to find the product we were trying to buy. By the way I was trying to a buy $760 armoire. Oops!
Helpful staff and reasonable prices
Just love going here. Took my son for the first time and to see his excitement!! Everyone was very nice.
They seem to be restocking and adjusting the layout of the store. Many items were “out” so just be aware. There were several things there of course but many items gone perhaps due to back to school, COVID delays or whatever.
My wife and I enjoy this location very little is out of stock and the staff is attentive and helpful. This location just changed out all of their computing from the point of sale terminals to the members deals (ikea family) terminals at the entrance. Thankfully this means they now fully support things like Apple Pay, Google pay, Samsung pay, and tap n pay credit cards.Unfortunately they managed to run out of the veggie dogs, bring them back swiftly please
It was excellent. The cafeteria was perfect. Everything was clean and spaced appropriately. The trays were warm, just out of the dish washer. Everything was sanitized. We found some nice sales as well. It wasnt too crowded. We were able to shop and social distance most of the trip. At checkout they had sanitizer wipes ready for the register.
Aside from being a labrynth, they had great customer service. My advice would be to go during the week. The weekends a mob.
Furniture and meatballs, apparently.
I am an avowed IKEA fan so yes,..Im going to say it is a magical place of decor and inspiration.
Huge collection of self service furniture and other large furniture as well. Very well laid out space for comfortable shopping. Very clean and friendly staff who are ready to help.I was q bit disappointed with the home office furniture and workstations. They need to add more to their inventory here. And I could not find an ash tray.
First time going to IKEA... Was definitely an experience, will go again!!
Been going to this store since 2005 when I started college. in spring 2020, the store was closed due to Covid but opened cautiously in June 2020. Social distancing and disinfecting surfaces observed. The store is always organized, plenty of parking, fun shopping experience; good return policy. The only problem is there are too many things I want at the store. Thankfully the prices are not exorbitant. Last time I went I bought a tiny chair for my niece. She loves it!
The workers were friendly and very helpful as well, quick easy shopping experience.
The ideas will come in mind and flowing with the European taste and style. And yes the food is delicious at the canteen we always having a lunch or dinner there.
The worst IKEA I’ve ever been to. To start, there were no wipes for the carts, then 70% of the kitchenware (plates, potato peelers, etc) was out of stock, no one was there to help, most of the sheets were out of stock, I don’t know about the big furniture pieces but the small stuff to stock a house was absent. Waste of time.
So I came to return a defective Kallax. I got their at 6 :40PM went to resturant upstairs and they were already cleaning up closed. Before I came I looked up the time before coming and I said 7pm. They basically closed 20 minutes early. But that was just the start. We then went to return the kallax but lost the receipt since we bought it months ago.. now a little backstory we live 2 hours away from Ikea so we called the Woodbridge Ikea store and a male employee in returns answered now we explained to him we had lost the receipt so he started to look it up the receipt .We gave him all the information he asked for the date, listed all of the items on the receipt and the total amount spent during that transaction. By this time you could tell he was looking at the receipt on his screen.Since we didnt have the card he refused to send us a copy of the receipt. Then he started to yell at us on the phone. Now back to the store we get up to the return desk thinking we could talk to someone they could pull up the receipt and we could exchange the Kallax. Explained everything that happened and they still refused to exchange the defective item so we just left it there because what were we going to do with it. No Ikea has another as is item they can sell for free since we left it.So after still hungry we end up going to the ikea Cafe where we ordered a slice of pizza looked drity and the slice we were given looked like it had been left out for hours. Now I have worked at Ikea before and I have been to many Ikea across the USA because I think Ikea is a great store and great company but this Ikea in Woodbridge is the worst Ikea ever.
Visited, but only for the cafeteria which was delicious and reasonably priced as always.
Quietly if this place is going down. You cannot find many items and staff is very much cannot guide you to where you may find it. Restaurant has couple of un professional people.
Its an ikea. If youve been, you know, if not, you should give it a try.
I typically prefer the College Park Ikea, but lately Woodbridge has been easier for me to get to and it’s been a very nice shopping experience.
Friendly staff and well stocked store in very bad weather. I arrived hungry and cold after a long drive and headed straight to the restaurant. The salmon filet was great, and the days Mac and Cheese was gluten free. I opted for salmon but very much appreciated the thoughtfulness :) I came for Xmas decor small items and with a list of specific items: white picture ledge, a particular size of frame, a wall shelf, black pillow case etc. I left very satisfied.
Shelf’s were empty not much variety of merchandise. Sanitation protocols in place. Not crowded at all. Only found a few items. Hopefully shelf’s will be stocked soon.
Always been a fan of this quirky brand. Okay quality at bargain prices. I hadn’t been in many years...never going back again. This is why...I visited IKEA today to purchase a desk for my son to use for online learning with his school. Almost the entire store’s inventory was depleted... just poor supply chain management. Literally no desk left in the entire place. I wasted 2 hours of my weekend.Silver Lining - I remembered quickly why I’m an Amazon Prime member. I found an amazing computer desk for $60 on Amazon with 12,000 ratings which will arrive at my house in 2 days. I made the purchase with my phone before I got to my car in the IKEA parking lot.It is bad enough that IKEA is the hardest store to find anything and the food court is a joke. Now the cheap stuff that they offer is unavailable. They have lost their competitive advantage. This is the last time I visit IKEA.
Its clean and very observant of social distancing. All the workers are helpful.
I love Ikea. People are in awe over my matte black kitchen. Im in awe on how versatile their cabinets are. From draws to shelves in a snap!
