This post is mainly about the service I received. I bought a dining table from Woodcrafters and we do love it. It’s well built and made exactly how I envisioned it. The service and treatment I received, however, is probably some of the worst.I came here from Leesburg, VA because Lance and Woodcrafters was recommended to me by a close friend who had a great experience with them. I, on the other hand, did not receive such phenomenal service she spoke about.I ordered our table on May 1st. I also paid for this table in full and was told that it would take 6-9 weeks to complete and be delivered. Well, we received the table on August 14th. Not only was it not delivered in the timeframe that was promised, I never once received a phone call to tell me there was a delay with my order. Every contact that was made was always initiated by me, the customer. It wasn’t until the 3rd or 4th time I checked in on my order (around week 10) that I was told there was a back order on the bench seat I wanted. Why was this not communicated earlier?! I would have understood and not been so upset if Lance had just called me and been upfront about it. Instead, he just let me wait it out. Also, all communications about your order has to go through him. The lady who answers the phone, bless her heart, really does try her best but she’s basically useless because I was always told that she will have Lance call me back, which literally never happens in the time period you would expect (i.e. the following business day) so I would always have to reach out a day later. I received exactly one call from Lance (around week 14) to let me know my table was in the finishing shop and that once it goes through inspection, he can deliver it by Tuesday or Wednesday. He said he’ll call me back. Never happened. I called the following weekend because I really needed this table and he’s several weeks past the expected due date only for the lady over the phone to tell me Lance had a perfect excuse why he hasn’t called me back this time around. What about the 5 other times?! Well turns out his mom was in the hospital and I really do feel bad but I am doing business with someone who doesn’t know how to delegate priorities. Eventually, I called again the following day because the lady said Lance would call me, but as we know, he never does but this time he said again that it’s in the finishing shop (wait, you said that over a week ago!) and once it passes inspection he should have it delivered by Saturday. Received a call from the store lady (she’s useful this time) to say the table will be delivered on Saturday. We did receive the table this time but there were so many times I wanted to go in and just cancel my order with them but hearing all the details about others getting charged some card maintenance fee, it made me pause so I just stuck it out.TL;DR the service was awful and I’m never going to order from them again. I’d rather find a more local place that I can physically go to where it doesn’t take me an hour to drive to. So much for trying to help out a local business that was recommended by a friend. Needless to say, she will not be recommending them again.

Wow amazing furniture, Excellent craftsmanship and very good management!

Lance Frye, the owner, made us a custom built dining table, bench, and five chairs all made of solid cherry wood and stained with Michael’s Cherry. He kept us up-to-date as the build progressed by sending pictures and was able to meet our tight timeline. He was courteous and professional and answered all our questions. The craftsmanship is top-notch and we are so pleased.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I do not recommend buying furniture from this place. After we spent $2600 on couple of pieces we spent months trying to get our furniture. They would not answer the phone and did not return our messages. After months we finally went back to the store to find out our furniture order was never placed. I’m really not sure how this place is still in business. We were not the only upset customer there that morning.

We have had several really good experiences at this store. Lance is a great American, and really takes good care of his customers over a long relationship. You cant go wrong purchasing quality wood furniture from this business. Highly recommended!

Stumbled upon this place while visiting other furniture stores in the area. We were looking for a dining room table with integrated leaves. This store has really unique items and friendly staff to answer questions. We found exactly what we were looking for. Also ended up buying a bed because we saw one we love! Everything is built solid out of wood and great quality. Well be returning for more.

Lance said they can make furniture for you. All you need is a sketch and the type of wood you want.

Daughters furniture separated at the seam, they repaired once and then it came apart again, 2nd time that wanted to charge her to pick it up for repair. This was a problem from the start that was never remedied!

If only I could forget about my hassles and heartaches with Ashley furniture and other large chains.... ugh.This great local store is 18,000 square feet of wonderful furniture- much of which is made and fabricated in their back room with wood artisans.I’m super impressed with the variety of furniture, the quality of furniture and the price of the furniture. The owner is there to give that personal touch and knowledge that you just don’t find in the box stores.A+++++ for Woodcrafters!

Wow! What a cool store. Love the beautiful solid wood stuff that has the live edge look to it. So many eclectic and neat styles. Lots of selections and price levels, some stuff is actually priced so low I was surprised. If you want furniture that doesnt fall apart the second you drip a little water on it or move it, youre in luck.

Placed a $1100 order on May 29th to be delivered as an anniversary present by July 10th. I paid all 1100 for the project up front and was assured at the time of order placement that 6 weeks was enough time. Was told today it would not be done in time, and no timetable was given as to when it would be done. I was only told this because I called to ask. No communication about the project came from Woodcrafters at all over the last 6 weeks. Only offered 50% ($50) off of the delivery charge as help towards missing the deadline. I get things delay projects especially now, but this experience for me was not a good one, primarily because the attitude and communication about the project was poor in my opinion. I do not plan to use this company again.

Wonderful place! Different styles and designs. Lance, the owner, knows his stuff. Need custom design? He has in-house manufacturing. He also creates his own stain colors, so if you need to match current furniture in your home, bring in a sample and they will do an amazing job.

Amazing selection, high quality and one of the most friendly and knowledgeable owners in the NOVA area. If you need or want high quality furniture at a competitive price, this is the place to go!

Shopping here is like Old Time shopping. While it is not a prestine showroom, the sales environment from the owner all the way down to the non-pressure, non-tailing you while walking around is a nice experience. This is not a chain store, which is what I think makes the difference for the better...

Noticing that the two identically worded negative reviews are from someone who bought something that they changed their mind on, a bad purchasing decision on their part, nothing the store did wrong. Stores are not under any legal obligation to take stuff back and it costs money for the business to charge and refund cards, credit card companies charge for BOTH transactions, and a lot, like $36 from a $600 transaction.Why should a small business after A. Spending time with the customer B. Removing the item from inventory C. doing the paperwork have to completely absorb the loss when they did nothing wrong. Most stores charge a restocking fee of 15%. This was generous for Woodcrafters not to, they were just trying to mitigate their losses that the credit card co charged. I own a small business myself so I see it from both sides. I love this store and I buy things from them all the time, the furniture is top notch!!!!

WoodCrafters is a terrible company to purchase furniture. I strongly suggest everyone steer away, and find a legitimate place to purchase from. I will never purchase another item from this store because it is not worth the money nor the stress that my family was put through to get our issues resolved.We purchased a table and 8 chairs for $2,800. Within three weeks of receiving the table and chairs four chairs cracked and the paint started chipping.We confronted the owner and requested a refund as the table and chairs were poorly made. Lance stated he would not issue a refund because it was a “custom” order meaning he painted it so he would not refund our money back. He claimed it was because of the humidity but properly made furniture wouldn’t do that inside a climate controlled home. He even had an attitude at the thought we gave about it being the fault of the company he purchased them from stating how that’s just a matter of our opinion and it’s just a coincidence. 4 of 8 chairs is hardly a coincidence.I kept contacting the owner about the status of our chairs but there was always a new excuse as to why they were not there or delivered when he kept saying they would be. It took over a month and half to finally get our chairs fixed.

Only 3 stars for now as they are unable or unwilling to tell me the delivery date of the bed frame and mattress that I purchased

We bought an entire A-America bedroom set from here. The owners were both very helpful throughout the entire process and we are really happy with our new furniture. The quality of the furniture is great, their showroom is diverse, the prices are very reasonable, the customer service is awesome, and the delivery was timely and professional. Highly recommend this furniture store!

Beautiful craftsmanship! We had a huge custom built unit created for my wifes art supplies. The quality and detail were superb! She had unique specifications on the interior design--perfect to the last detail. Well be purchasing more furniture here!

BE AWARE that they charge you 3% fee every time your card gets swiped, so if you decide to cancel you order or return something, you loose those 3%! They do not refund it!!! I ordered dining set, and came back the next day to cancel my order because I found something that I liked better. They charge me 50$ (3%) for just cancelling my order, so I left with paying 50$ for NOTHING!

We heard about woodcrafters from a friend. Went in today and they had a bunch of stock to choose from. Everything is solid and well made. Prices not bad too!We found a small table that we needed and bought that as well as some seating. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back when we need more furniture!

Great place for those difficult to find right size pieces to complete your home decor

Great final product. Pricey if you choose any finishing options. Didnt do a great job managing my expectations for a timely delivery. Owner made me feel like I was in the wrong, but delivered on my order. I would be a repeat customer if they hadnt told me to expect my furniture earlier than they could deliver it and then make me feel like a complainer for being unhappy.

Very customer focused. The owner went that extra step to make us welcome - no question was too trivial. First rate!

Kimberly and her husband are amazing! They purchase every product in the store, so they know all of the products. Speaking of the products themselves, they are all high quality wood products, nothing that you are going to sit down for hours and try to put together. We walked in on a whim because we were unable to find parking at their neighbors establishment, once we were in we were taken aback by the quality of the furniture that we saw. Kimberly assisted us with choosing what we wanted and was patient while we decided. Even though there were other customers she still gave us her full attention and answered any and all the questions we had. All in all it was an amazing buying experience and I look forward to shopping there again.

This is Woodbridge’s hidden gem!! The furniture is one of a kind and BEAUTIFUL! Lance does custom pieces as well! This furniture will last you far longer than anything you buy at Ashley or ikea for sure. The pricing is generous considering the amount of time and work put into the beautiful pieces! Skip the other stores and come in here you will not be sorry!!

I was moving into a new home and decided to buy an end table for my living room. After a few days I decided that it didn’t look good and decided to return it. They charge me $17.05 for just returning! I would have exchanged it for something else but as I was waiting the husband called the wife over who was helping me to discuss something. Not sure what he had to discuss but I’m sure it was about my return as that’s poor customer service!! If it wasn’t about me then it could have been discussed after I left!
