I took my car there when I 1st moved here in 2018. My intention was to never bad mouth them. But the add they are running to get woman in the shop is because they know we dont know a lot about repairs, and they want to rip us off with unnecessary work and really really high price for doing hardly nothing.
We were in from out of town when our check engine light came on. The guys were great and saw us immediately, and then gave some good advice for what to do when we got home. And they didn’t charge us anything! Other shops in the area wouldn’t fit us in, or asked that we leave our car, which wouldn’t work since we had to drive back home the next day. We’re so grateful for the easy kindness we found here!
Fast and efficient! Nathan was great and knew exactly what the issues were and fixed them. Highly recommend 😀
There is no other shop in town for me and my family. This place is where the mechanics that I know bring their vehicles. The team here can work on pretty much any car, and have had experience with rare collectors rigs and specialty foreign models. They work with warranty companies and are transparent and fair when explaining the work they do. Top notch.
Went in to get my starter replaced. Nathans team diagnosed the problem as a battery that had gone bad and were able to save us a lot of money. They are honest and do excellent work!! I highly recommend them!!
Nathan and his team are amazing, I wouldnt take my car anywhere else. They remember who you are and previse problems your car has had. They are friendly and super quick. They also explain what needs to get done in a way that I can understand, i.e. non-car speak. You wont go wrong if you take your car here.
Ive really enjoyed having a mechanic and the team at Yakima Automotive is top notch. They work hard and keep it honest, walking me through each issue and my car has been running fantastic since I brought it there, before not so much. If youre searching for a great place to get your car fixed or just a check-up, call them today. Youll be happy you did
Yakima Automotive is a professional and family style business. My grandma had taken her car here for 20 years, I recently bought her car so Ive continued to service my car here. I am very happy with my overall experience at Yakima Automotive. Nathaniel and the staff go above and beyond their duty as mechanics. When I go in I feel like Im dropping my car off at my uncles house because I know the car is in good hands and I know that they will give me an honest and helpful evaluation of the state of my car.About a month ago my battery light turned on while I was in Moses Lake, I was oblivious of what to do so I called Yakima Automotive. Nathan gave me an understanding over the phone of what the issue was with my specific car. He advised me to visit a nearby automotive store, and they were able to fix the issue!I plan on continuing to take my car to Yakima Automotive because no one know my car like they do! This is a faithful and reliable business that can be trusted.
The team at Yakima Automotive went above AND beyond my expectations. They worked hard, were honest, and did not try and wrack up unnecessary costs. I felt like I could trust these people to work on my car and be honest with what issue is. I will be taking my car here from now on and will be sure to recommend them to everyone.
Ive have my car serviced at Yakima Automotive and I cannot express enough how happy I am with the knowledge and professionalism and excellent customer service I experience with each visit. Nathan is always cheerful and goes above and beyond the call of duty, always making me feel like more than just a customer. Theyve done quick fixes, routine maintenance, and phone consultations, resolving issues quickly and never trying to upsell. I highly recommend their services.
I am very happy with Yakima Automotive and totally recommend them! I purchased a 2007 Mazda from a gentleman in Yakima, and wanted it checked out before driving it home, over the Pass. Nathan was extremely helpful; he checked it out, found some issues and repaired it. One of the issues involved finding a used part, cleaning it up and making it work. He didnt give up on it and went beyond to help me. He has the knowledge needed. I appreciate his efforts!
I wouldnt take my car or truck to anyone else
Great experience. Nathan and Mike were great (as well as Zoe the shop pup-so cute). They diagnosed my car the first day on a walk in, explained the problem in a way I could understand and fixed just that problem without trying to oversell me on things I didnt need.
I have a 97 Suburban. Driving an older car is economical, but can be stressful if you dont know when or what might be ready to give. Yakima Automotive definitely alleviates that stress. My recent oil change was just $50.95. Maybe an oil change is less at the various oil change drive-ins around town, but you get what you pay for. Yakima Automotive changed the oil/filter and provided a detailed vehicle inspection report along with quotes for needed and/or soon to be needed work. They found metal shavings on my drain plug and actually took photos to show me. Great customer service. Good, honest pricing. Excellent work. It doesnt get any better than that! Thanks!
I have taken four of my cars to Nathan and Mike, and have always been happy with the work they have done. Everything from my 1991 Mazda Miata to a 2014 Audi. Always cheerful and professional. I highly recommend this shop.
Had my first experience yesterday here. It was definitely a place they take good care of you and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Efficient and helpful when I had a stinking mouse somewhere in my car that smelthorrible. They found and took care of it for me along with changing myoil.. Nathan and his team are Great!
Mike is the top of the line in customer service and great price for top quality work in a timely manner.
Going in next week 4 a full tune up.
Yak Auto has taken care of my 2006 Tribeca from birth. It now has 170k and is just starting to need maintenance beyond the normal preventative stuff. I attribute that to their knowledge base and pride in ensuring your car is safe to drive. Last week, it sounded like the front end was going to fall off. I took it in, they diagnosed the issue, and I was back on the road within 15 minutes.
All my family in the Yakima Valley takes their cars/trucks into Nathans shop. Honest reliable auto repair done with friendly service. Yakima Automotive is the PLACE for auto repairs in Yakima.
Ended up not needing service because I traded it in for newer vehicle. Pretty pricy but staff were friendly.
I’m from out of town and my car broke down. I made it to this shop with my baby and dog in the car. They immediately began diagnostics on my car, found the problem and fixed it. Very friendly and fast service! Amazing shop and good people!
Best customer service ever!. This is the place to go for great quality, service and fair pricing.
Always gets the job done and always makes you feel like a brand new experience Everytime!
This is the first review I have given. Besides being all around nice people, you can tell that they care very much about their work and the well being of their customers. At no point did I feel like just another faceless being with a wallet. Instead, they made sure I knew what was going on, they listened to my thoughts and concerns, communicated the reasons behind any delays, were genuinely interested in the work they were doing and truly desired to get things done right. Theyre prices were more than reasonable and I highly recommend them to any person who will has any car care needs. In short, they do a great job and are great people.
Im a somewhat skilled auto mechanic here in Yakima. I took one of my personal vehicles to Yakima Automotive because I couldnt figure out what was wrong with it. I had replaced and repaired everything I could think of that it might be. There was some problems with the final bill, but in the end Yakima Automotive made it right, and took very good care of me. They went above and beyond in the department of customer satisfaction, my hat is off to the team at Yakima Automotive. I would and will recommend them not only to the public but also to my personal customers .
The staff at Yakima Automotive are an absolute pleasure!!! I was having an issue with my Mini, talked to Bob about it. He got me in the next day. I got a ride to work and when I picked up my car that afternoon, as I chatted with Allan & Heidi it felt like wed all been good friends for years. My overall experience was absolutely top notch! Ill take every car I own to them and only them! Thank you so much for getting my Mini back on track! I really appreciate it!
Stranded during holidays. Called at opening time on Jan 2. They were able to get me in, determine and locate the correct part in stock, that according to the dealer was a Special order part, direct me to the only guy in town that had the correct press to perform the unique bearing swap, then got my drive line reinstalled by 2pm! I would still be stuck there if it wasnt for Nathan and crew. Thanks to Yakima Automotive, my wife and I are home in California! Amazing experience at fair price.... absolutely recommend.
I am extremely happy with YA, they have a great staff that is personable, polite, and really good communication. My engine needed extensive repair and they kept me informed regularly on progress. I was given options related to cost and longevity. Forget about any other shops THIS is where you want to go!!
Dont waste your time or money at this place. Couldnt properly diagnose a simple non-starting issue. Was in over his head and couldnt admit it. Over charged to make-up for parts that were not used and not needed. They dont deserve the single star that was required to post this review. Save yourself a huge headache and a lot of frustration...look elsewhere.
They may not be the least expensive repair shop, but they wont do you wrong. They tell it like it is and warrantees all parts they sell.Have a question about your vehicle? Just want info about how to fix it? Give them a call. They are glad to give you the information you need.
I took my 14-year-old Corolla to Yakima Automotive this morning, and the techs there went above and beyond the call of duty to locate the source of the minor shimmy in my steering column, and get it fixed the same day. Even better, the total bill was way under $200! I highly recommend Yakima Automotive - they are quick, courteous, and honest.
Bob Allgaier and his crew at Yakima Automotive are the best. Appointments are kept, and you get your car in on time, all the time. The work is professionally done and with professional parts per your exact automobile, make, model, and year. No cutting corners with Yakima Automotive. Only go her for all of your automotive service and repair needs. Wayne Nelson
Great service! Thank you for taking such good care of my Jeep!!😁
Shop around first!!! This place is very expensive !!! $300 dollars they wanted For the parts and labor. I found a mechanic, same part and same labor $80! Do your home work!!Im not sure were the confusion is, when I came to your shop thats what Yakima Automotive quoted me.For the part and labor total, would be $300.I found another Automotive mechanic thats honest, takes pride in reputation, excellent costumer service, And outstanding warranty!Thank you.
Jeremiah at Yakima Automotive was extremely thorough and gave estimates and explained everything to me. They checked in with me when something came up and completed the job as promised and the price was very competitive compared to others in the area. I would highly recommend Yakima Automotive to anyone!
Quality service. Honest work and fair prices.
Over the years Yakima Automotive has been the go back to place for me, as I have tried many others in town but always end up back there because they are honest and they stand behind their work. Anything I have brought to them from Fords to BMWs they can fix it. I am so glad to recommend Yakima Automotive to anyone who is not satisfied with their current mechanic. They know how to make a customer glad! Try them just for an oil change and see the difference!
My SAAB 900 broke down in Yakima on my way home to Seattle leaving me with few options other than Yakima Automotive. They were able to fit me in right away and hustled to get the work done quickly so I could be on my way again. The receptionist Heidi was very helpful in keeping my informed of the cars status in addition to being kind and sympathetic about my misfortune. When I picked up the car, the mechanic made a point of coming out to talk to me about the work done and to show me the exploded fuel pump assembly. The costs seemed reasonable - $600 for the full replacement of the fuel pump assembly. I would definitely recommend Yakima Automotive and if they were closer to Seattle I would take my car there for its regular maintenance.
Great shop! Good people. Honest fair prices. Highly recommend.
A huge shout out to the team at Yakima Automotive for checking out our car and fitting the out of town people into an already busy schedule after our car ran over something on the road. We were treated with kindness and integrity ! We appreciate all your help !! 5+ stars from us!!
My wife, daughter and son are travelling from Tyler, TX to Tacoma, WA. They are making the trip in a used car we bought for our daughter who is a student in Tacoma. The car does well most of the trip but fails to run after getting gas in Yakima (Chevron on 16th), early evening about 7. Our insurance gets them a tow truck and recommends Yakima Automotive. As soon as the repair shop opens the next day the crew look at the car, determine the problem, and get them back on the road by 11 AM. They reach Tacoma by 2 PM. What great service!! My wife says the crew was just friendly and she was treated with top priority in her distress. I wish to give a big shout out to Yakima Automotive for all their help in our time of need.
Great service, and knowledgeable techs
Superb Automotive business. Honest, hard working, friendly, helpful and extremely capable. The best in town if not anywhere!
Service was excellent, they were concise and kept me informed of every detail they had to do. Finished the job in record time with less cost then expected. Will continue to use their service for all my automotive needs. Thanks to all the staff.
I took my car there with the promise of getting it back by the end of the day. I didnt hear anything back by near the end of the day so I called and they said they couldnt find the lug nut key, which means they hadnt even started on it yet. I finally got it back towards the end of the following day, then I took it for the first drive of any amount and after about 20 miles, things started falling apart. I took it back to them that night and left the key with them and at first they couldnt find anything wrong. They took it for a drive and didnt notice anything! I told them it was a LOUD noise, kind of hard to miss! They finally found the problem. It was the part they put in initially that came apart, and, of course, it wasnt their fault at all. The part was a dud........ They replaced that and it drove fine with the exception of the fact that it was so bad out of alignment that after 1200 miles I needed new tires. Of course none of it was their fault again (Dont worry, Les Schwab fixed that issue). My experience here was all around bad, from not keeping their word on when they would get it back to me, to the fact that they didnt take responsibility for anything. Perhaps they are good mechanics and good people, but not in my experience. If you want it done right by people with good business etiquette, dont go here.
Over the years I have visited a few repair places. I have never had a negative experience with my final choice of Yakima Automotive. I can call them and they immediately know my maintenance history, and can sometimes diagnose warnings over the phone. They always do what they agree do do, in the time agreed upon, for the price agreed upon. You never leave feeling taken advantage of.
I have had our car in several times for routine service, and always happy with outcome, friendly staff, and they make sure all is coordinated time wise so I am able to continue my work day with minimal disruption, knowledgeable staff that makes sure we know what is happening with the vehicle.
This is the most dishonest mechanic Ive ever been to. I took a car here for a prepurchase inspection (after first calling and trying to get an idea of what all is looked at, Bob told me we look at everything). The inspection revealed some relatively big issues, but nothing too bad - estimate to fix all detected problems was $1500. I was told by Bob that for the asking price this car was a good deal, so I purchased it.Fast forward to today - I have spent $2438 in repairs, with more still needing to be done. Unfortunately for me, Yakima Automotive missed a lot of issues that required attention. I called yesterday asking for a refund and got the run-around from Bob. My favorite excuse was: we probably missed some issues because there was just so much wrong with the car. So much for we look at everything. The last car I bought went through a rigorous 100+ point inspection in Spokane, and those folks were much more thorough, so perhaps my expectations were too high with Yakima Automotive.Bob also lied to me while I talked to him on the phone yesterday asking for a refund. He told me he specifically remembered calling me to discuss the plethora of problems with this car once he finished the inspection, and thought that if anything he would have swayed me away from purchasing the vehicle. Thats a nice story, but I was sitting in his waiting room during the inspection and spoke to him face-to-face about the vehicle. He convinced me this was a pretty nice car that didnt need a whole lot done. I heavily based my decision to buy this car on this discussion, which has not worked out well so far.Basic take-home message: this mech did mediocre work (or worse) and when asked for a refund lied to me and made a bunch of excuses. Not a good combination at all. If youre looking for a mechanic in Yakima, keep searching.UPDATE: Response to Yakima Automotives reply:Thanks for the reply. I drove about 80 miles prior to getting the car to my mechanic, so maybe problems developed post-inspection, but that seems unlikely. It took 7 weeks to write my review because my mechanic was booked out, so the car sat in my garage several weeks until I could take it in. The repair estimates you provided were very similar to what I paid at my mechanic for the issues you did find. With regards to counseling me about possible additional repair costs, I dont think this was relayed very well, and I certainly never expected to pay more than twice as much as your estimate in repairs. Ill finally be getting the car back this coming week and the final repair bill is going to fall somewhere in the $3700 range. If you can honestly look at that difference ($1500 vs $3700) and say you guys did a good, thorough job, good for you I guess. My mechanic actually said the rack and pinion probably should have been noticed on a pre-purchase inspection. He did not repair the pump, then notice the pinion as you state in your response. Please dont twist my words to fit your narrative. You may not have told me to buy the vehicle, but you repeatedly said it seemed like a very good deal. Im not sure why you keep denying this.If you truly are looking for areas to improve, here is a suggestion:1) Dont tell customers: we look at everything with regards to pre-purchase inspections. I asked for a refund because you did not look at everything. Just to name a few things that were missed: cracked coolant reservoir tank, broken headlight brackets, non-functioning heated seat elements, failing blower motor, and the AIRBAG light was on (there are a couple other missed issues, but the invoice Ive paid so far is in the car, which is still in the shop). I was aware the airbag light was on, but its still scary that you guys overlooked something so vital to vehicle safety. I dont think any of these missed issues were masked, downstream, or developed after the inspection
Fixed my air conditioner, kept their original estimate. Offer free drop off and pick up.
I have brought my car in for my regular LOF(lubeOilFilter) to Yakima Automotive. The service has been excellent. I receive reminders when my car is due for maintenance, and I can usually make an appointment within a few days. They will even pick up and drop off my car at my work place if I need that service. This is a big plus for me. They are also fast and did jobs in less time than other auto repair shops. I believe they are honest and thorough. I would definitely recommend Yakima Automotive. They work on all models and makes of cars. I have brought my Subaru and Honda in for service and my cars performed as well if not better than when I took them to the dealers I bought them from. Prices are lower than the dealers so its a no brainer to take my car to Yakima automotive.
Very informative and a positively outstanding mechanical experience
It is a very professional business and very local very friendly team.
Fair, fast, friendly, and reliable service center that I reccomend to all my friends, co-workers, and anyone I hear that needs any auto repairs. Yakima Automotive has always been the front line in auto repair for every rig Ive owned.
Honest and fair business. I would use them again.
Have been taking my cars here for many years.
Good service.
Theyll do the right thing for you and your car
Friendly guys
