Ive been a Court Reporter for a very long time (feels longer than it should). Ive been shopping with Martel Electronics for the majority of my career. What sold me early on was the support, and that was back in the tape recorder days where things were much simpler. Now with everything digital or computer based I really need help and Martel provides it. Fantastic company with good people, Id definitely recommend them to anyone.

This is the first company that has been willing to walk me through the entirety of the ins and outs of my purchase. I literally took 3 hours of Jasons time to make sure I understood everything. Hes a gem and I cant say good enough things about him. Martel has always treated me right.

I was very fortunate to come across the Martel website. I had boughten a Philips digital recorder from Amazon, but when I called Philips for technical support, they said the seller of the item must provide me help. I searched for a half an hour and finally found the Amazon phone number. They told they DO NOT support any of the products they sell. I called Philips back and was told the same thing. I then returned the recorder to them and purchased it at Martel Electronics instead. This time it was much different. They explained the proper usage and maintenance of the device and told me to give them a call anytime for help. They are a very good company.

I work for the court system and help manage the IT department. Occasionally I need odd cables and adapters for the older equipment we have here and Martel stocks a bunch of these items. I guess they kept alot of stock for this reason specifically, thank God someone did. Its a good company and I will be using them again.

Im very happy with my latest crazy purchase, the Martel ghost writer speech recognition system. I use it for my meetings to transcribe them automatically. I was super skeptical at first, but hey it works. Jason there helped me set it up both over the phone and with a remote login, thank goodness. If I ever have any similar needs, Ill be using them again.

I have been using a borrowed Court Reporter 5000 package and decided to order my own since I had been pleased with the borrowed one. I have been terribly disappointed in my digital recorder. It has clicking noise that is audible while the recorder is running and of course the recorder records that clicking and it makes the playback quality less than superior, which is what I had been used to and was expecting of the same equipment. I am sadly disappointed and I hope that ONE DAY Martel will answer their phones (because they dont) so I can get some help.

Received my transcription machine two years ago. Love it. Put it away for a year. When I took it out again I couldnt find the software. I called and was delighted when Jason was able to help me out. They all were pleasant and very helpful. Thanks again!

If you know court reporters, were an eccentric bunch that tends to start with one type of equipment and stay with it our whole careers. I did this with microphones that picked up say 8-10 feet and tried turning up my volume on my computer for playback. This worked on some recordings but didnt on others. I called Martel for recommendations on a mic and I ended up with their HGM-2 hi gain microphone. It was life changing, I work in a medium to large size courtroom and it actually covers the whole thing, shocked. I guess the moral of the story is dont be afraid to change because it can make your life so much easier.

Ive been a court reporter for 15 years now and I buy almost all my equipment from Martel for 1 reason, their service. They actually help you with installation and using your stuff. If you buy anything off Amazon or google shopping etc, youre told theyre is no support, even though you bought a legitimate item from Philips or Olympus like I did. So now I buy everything from Martel. The guys at Martel will either help you over the phone, chat or remote login to your computer. If youve ever had work that needed to be turned in the next day and the $500 recorder bought isnt download, then you know what I mean. Martel I can immediately get a resolution to my question or problem, very very important in my opinion.

Apparently the good reviews were written a year or more ago. I bought a microphone three weeks ago and need help getting it set up on my computer. I have called and tried every extension possible, no one ever answers. I have left several voicemails, no call back. Now the voicemail box for the technical support person is full. Finally decided I was going to just return the stupid thing, but you have to have authorization through an e-mail address. Sent several e-mails, no reply. Really awful

I found them recently on google when looking for a new microphone for my steno machine (yes Im a court reporter). I was reluctant to try their Higain mic because of the price (which turned out not to bee too bad once I searched around). So when I got it home and gave it a try it pleasantly surprised me. This is going to make my job alot easier, high five to them for making my work week better.

Martel is awesome. For years I had problems with the microphones I was buying from the big local stores like Best Buy with my software. It felt like they were made for webcamming and chatting not serious business applications like I need. Their HGM2 hi-gain microphone saves me every day and Im a good reporter. Id sooo recommend this for new reporters.

Honestly, I struggle with whether I should keep doing legal and medical transcription most days. Martel has cheap transcription kits and thats what I needed. I havent needed to call them yet for help, but it says I have a year of free support so thats good.

I had to send my mic in because they did trouble shooting with me on the phone, once they finally answered, and found out it needed repair. I sent it in three weeks ago and have never heard a word. I have been calling and calling and no one answers. I leave a message and no one ever calls back. Now I am without my mic and basically feel like they stole it from me. I will try really hard not to do business with them again, but they unfortunately have the monopoly on good recording devices for CRs.

This is a fantastic microphone (the USB martel recorder for court reporters) and they are extremely helpful in getting it set up for you so it works its best on the your equipment. Even though its plug and play (record), sometimes the settings need to be tweaked and tech support is very helpful with this. Jason was fantastic when my settings went wacky even though Ive owned this microphone for a year now -- they still helped me out get things back in top recording order.

I am from the Phillipines, but we do not have access to the footpedals for the transciption computers here in Manila. Martel shipped to Phillipines quickly and cheaply. Other American companies I tried refused because of difficulty in international shipping. I am grateful they helped me.

Bought a Marantz CDR310 CD recorder in December 2009 as a Christmas gift for my musician friend. Arrived on the 15th in plenty of time for xmas. By the time we were able to sit down in the studio and start cutting tracks it was the second week of January, 2010. By the time we figured out the recorder was defective and was making discs that could not be played nor duplicated it was Saturday the 16th. So, by the time Monday the 18th rolled around we were three days over their 30 day limit on cash back. You would have thought that they would make an exception for a Christmas present...! Well, buyer be ware... I wont be buying from Martel again...

Ive gotten all my court reporting supplies from Martel for the past 30 years but a few weeks ago my recorder (10 years old) finally died. The gentlemen on the phone not only gave me a discount on expedited shipping, but he hand wrote a little instruction for me about the recorder that helped greatly.

I had my writer stolen from my car this week. Thankfully the insurance company is covering the majority of it. Martel helped me get together all the accessories that needed replacing. I didnt have a list or anything like that, but they understood what I needed.
