Stopped in Youngstown for a nightcap, traveling from Chicago to NJ. Wife and I are coffee lovers and always love trying coffee where ever we go. This is definitely high on our list. Great coffee. Nice little hidden gem. A must try...

Friendly staff, good ambiance, and great coffee. I just had the house blend and it was rich and full bodied. The sign on the door is tiny so its easy to miss.

What an amazing little coffee shop. I’ve long been going to other places like Pressed or Dunkin’ because they’re on campus at Youngstown State, but Joe Maxx is absolutely worth the walk. Amazing coffee, and an awesome spot to do some homework or read for an hour or two.

It’s not as good as some other local coffee shops but it is a nice little simple place to get a cup of coffee. I like that they have some food options. The only real downside is that their space is a little small but it’s still big enough to usually find a seat.

Just moved to the area a week ago, decided to check this place out. The guy who ran the cash register was really nice, very helpful. Had the dark roast and a French toast bagel. Both were excellent and very well priced, whole order came out to $3.50.Definitely will be going back again!

I used to love coming here in my college days, used to be nice. Now, it’s no where near the same.

Their coffee is hands down the best in Youngstown. its a pricey and you have to ignore the hipster atmosphere that is shoved down your throat, but definitely the best cup of Joe you will get downtown. Their baked goods are pretty darn good too. Try a lemon cranberry muffin they are awesome (get it heated up for best results)

Update: had a latte and it was tasty. Staff is friendly and their fairly quick.Had one of their specialty drinks and it tasted like a fancy hot chocolate.

Staff is super friendly! I had a cranberry muffin and it was great. My girlfriend really enjoyed the coffee from here as well.

I go here often and whenever I do I try and get the house roast or House Blend I cant remember what its called but its Joe Maxx signature blend House Blend I enjoy its very strong and the atmosphere inside the restaurant is just so warm and quaint a great place to start your day or to grab lunch or even to have that cup of after work coffee

Best coffee shop in the planet! Wonderful, friendly staff, the best coffee and food, and great atmosphere. Really sad I wont be having lunch here anymore... moving in January and will no longer work in the area. But this place was seriously my Central Perk.

Of the 3 employees working, 2 were absolutely rude to me. I seemed to be dismissed as being a valuable customer since Im a lowly college student, while the men in business suits behind me were catered to. The coffee was too overpriced for how average it tasted. Will not return.

I really love the staff at Joe Maxx downtown Youngstown. They treat my son and I like family. I was having a bad morning and the gentleman at the register was so warm and friendly. I am so unbelievably grateful.

Love the space...love the employees...and I love the bumblebee iced latte.

I would have given them 5 stars, but i was there last week and after a customer left the staff were saying derogatory things. Also, i believe they were training a new person and stated out loud that all sandwich choices are written on the board, but people are too ignorant to read it.

This has been my new daily alternative to Starbucks (my fav) since its Downtown. A colleague and I got a warm welcome when we entered the store today, a friendly hello. Sometimes we are greeted when walking in and sometimes not. The breakfast sandwiches are always good. The barista made me a ice coffee vs the iced latte I ordered she was honest about the mix up and made me a new drink. Yay right the only issue Im not sure if i got the 2 extra espresso shots (.50X2=1.00) in my order 😐Another positive I got the YSU discount on my order 😀
