Any vintage automobile lover knows that Auburn, Indiana is significant both historically as well as in the present day. Auburn is home today to a cluster of significant auto museum diamonds! I’ve visited the Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg Museum and NATMUS many times. We were in Auburn this past weekend for the Central National Meet of the Antique Automobile Club of America. On Saturday afternoon I was determined to get away for a tour of the Early Ford V-8 Foundation Museum just on the west side of I-69 opposite the RM Auburn Auction Park.As you pull up to the museum your eye is immediately drawn to the foundations architectural tribute to the historic Ford Rotunda building that was destroyed by fire in the early 1960’s. I’m not from a Ford family. I don’t own any vintage Fords, but as a general student of automotive history I couldn’t help but be grateful that I made time for the museum. The foundation has an impressive lineup of automobiles from the 1932 beginning of the famous Ford flat-head V-8, straight through to the mid 1950s. Their impressive lineup tribute to the 1936 model year simply has to be unparalleled. They even have one of the four remaining 1936 Allegheny Stainless Steel cars. Very impressive. Really glad we made time for this latest diamond to be discovered your next time through or near Auburn.
This is an incredible museum! If you like this genre you should definitely pay a visit. Josh, the museum employee that was there when we were was very attentive and informative. He took the time to have a very nice visit with my Dad and that made my day. 10 out of 10 would revisit this place!
After a visit to the museum I signed up for a membership. Josh does such a great job and I’m so happy this museum is so close to home. Our kids love to go and see the old cars. The car shows and swap meets are always great!
Awesome place to visit, i highly recommend seeing this museum for your self!
Went the day after Christmas, Joshua was an amazing host and made us feel so welcome. The museum was well worth the drive and would recommend it to anyone! Cant wait to take my dad there! Its also a bonus having the other awesome car and truck museums in Auburn.
Great place! Everything is pristine and mint condition 👌. I would suggest to any car lover. Great history lesson as every car tells its history with a plaque. The most intriguing thing is the stainless steel Ford coupe. Need to wear sunglasses to look at it because is shines bright. Beautiful piece! Was told it is a 7 digit dollar car. No doubt! Friendly host full of knowledge and very nice. Its a must see to appreciate old craftsmanship.
Absolutely an awesome museum. Highly recommended
This is a fantastic museum. 10 stars
It was a wonderful place to take my kids to see and look at old vintage cars and for a reasonable price for them too. Im really excited to see what there car show and swaps are like.

Great family destination. Great for car guys!
A great piece to visit
This place is fantastic! The website does not do it justice. If you are in the area, stop in. It is worth a trip to see it. Met a man named Josh who showed us around. He was excellent.
Great museum with very kind, knowledgeable staff. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in antique cars
It was an amazing experience seeing how much cars have changed over time. The guides there were very knowledgeable and knew a lot of the cars and everything else there. Would definitely recommend!
Josh and everyone at the museum are very helpful and accommodating. This museum should be in the top five places for a car guy to visit.
By far one of the best little museums in the area!
Very clean & well maintained.
This place is awesome! The staff talked to us and let us get up close to all the cars. I recommend talking to Josh when you come to look around. Thank you Josh ! You made the visit even better today.
Update: I went back and the museum is remodeled beautifully. All is the information cards are in place and there is a wing with a fully restored 1936 Ford lineup. An incredible collection of cars in this building. Anyone with even a passing interest in Ford flathead V8s will be drooling from the entry hall to the book store (which, to be fair, is the other end of the entry hall; a circle of salivation, if you will).A lot of automotive history in this place. I cant wait to go back once its put back together and there is more information on the displays.
Awesome
