I have BIG issues Uhaul. They seem to prey on people at the most stressful points in their lives...the local offices follow the lead of corporate offices. Spent hours on phone & online before, during & after. Finally got a VIP code for discount but it was never applied. Told to call manager at local store regarding this, but havent been able to reach him, despite leaving explicit messages that include the discount code I was told only he can apply, charges on my card still do not reflect it. Also, UHauls pick up online procedure didnt work for me despite 3 adults with valid licenses trying to pick up truck. Ended up driving 20 miles further round trip to get & return the uhaul 6 hours after reservation time & in rush hour traffic. I still had to pay for those miles/gas. Told only local store manager can credit me for those miles. No reponse from him about this either. This company basically has a monopoly and dont care if you are screwed over/dissatisfied!

Unbelievable worse experience yet.... I dreaded the day I had to make a review with only One star... Especially in my hometown...Went to ask if their would be any other charges that would be added to the online quote i got so I can have all my ducks in a row so this would be easy for me and the Uhaul dealer and basically got shutdown and no questions answered... Didnt get a name because it seemed like it would have been a difficult question for Her... and I still needed to move...I love Uhaul and will still go rent a truck...just not at this location.... Sorry you guys I wish I had a better review for others....

I am planning on leaving a review on Google as well, since I attempted to call the Questions or need help? number on my receipt and it just rang me to the same horrible woman. I ordered a U-Haul truck online to be picked up at 9:00 am, my husband and I showed up at 9:05am, and the line was insane, almost out of the door. I reserv4ed the U-Haul for 4 hours, but wasnt able to get through the line to actually receive the keys until 9:31am (as my receipt shows). Glyndia was unbelievably rude to us, curtly and let us know that even though our rental was for four hours, we had to return it by 1:00pm (a three hour window). I told her that we were there at 9am, and I needed the truck for four hours, hence why I reserved it for four hours. She accused us of lying, and said that if we had been there at 9am, we would have got our truck at 9am. Since the line was ten people long at 9:05am, there is no way she could have seen us, and we WERE there at 9:05am.I can not believe this employee deemed it necessary to call paying customers liars when we werent lying (she shouldnt be doing that regardless). When we finally got our truck, it stank. There is no way that truck was cleaned between people because it smelled like old cigarettes and cheap perfume so strongly that all of my clothes also picked up that smell. When we returned the truck, i pulled it into the U-Haul parking lot and a male employee in the lot asked me if I was returning the truck. I said yes and he nodded and walked away. Since he didnt say anything else, I assumed I needed to go inside to complete the rental. I was wrong, as the lady at the counter rudely said Nuh-uh - you got to to back outside, thats his job and pointed at the same employee who had previously nodded at me, and then walked away without helping me.TL:DR - this place is a circus. The service is bad, and they do not care. Go to literally any other location if you have the option.

This team is usually super efficient at moving folks through the rental process. Im surprised how quickly they can churn through a line. Their equipment is among the best in town in terms of both reliability and availability. My friends in the local industry swear by this location for their rental needs.

The U-Haul dealers in Baton Rouge all seem to be pretty difficult to deal with. This one, however, seems to be the best. They seem to be able to keep your reservation. And, are relatively efficient.

Terrible customer service. Ordered a hitch (2 day delivery) and paid extra for expedited service. Hitch didnt show up as promised. When I came back a day later for my appointed time, the person that was supposed to do the install hadnt shown up yet. Waiting for more than an hour (so far). General manager behind desk was unapologetic and didnt seem to be concerned. Terrible.Follow up: Finally the technician showed up after 90 minutes. Turns out, no one could drive a standard transmission I had to drive it into their shop and up onto the rack. When I asked how they were going to get it off the rack after the work was done, he stared at me and said they couldnt - so I couldnt leave my car behind (I had an appointment I had to go to). I left without the hitch. They did refund all my money. I would never recommend this outfit to anyone.

I rented a truck for a move from Denham Springs to Downtown Baton Rouge and the move couldnt have been any smoother. I did not have a reservation, I just showed up and said I needed a truck and within 10 minutes of signing paperwork, they brought a truck with my requested dolly to the front. Even though it was just me and roommate, we ended up completing the whole move job in 4 hours. I returned the truck during open hours and had no problem turning the truck in.The truck itself was air conditioned and comfy. I would rent from this location again! They also refunded me the money I paid for the unused mileage in a week or so. The only thing I would differently is rent more than one dolly next time to speed up the moving process.

Rude management. Hitch installation took over 3 hours. The general manager who was working on the installation seemed completely clueless. Had the wrong hitch at first and had to have me come back the next day to get the correct one. Moseyed back and forth between the buildings with absolutely no hustle whatsoever as though he had no care for my time. At the end of the day when all was done he didnt even offer an apology for taking my entire afternoon for something that should have lasted less than half of the time. If I still lived in Baton Rouge I would never use this location again. The entire staff here seemed unfriendly and unhelpful. Many people came in asking questions, and the woman working the counter was curt, disrespectful, and uncongenial when dealing with customers. Avoid this location at all costs.

Staff is unfriendly and unhelpful. I requested rental in New Roads and estimated the miles i would need based on New Roads. When rental was confirmed, I had to pick up and return to this store, 40 miles from the location I requested. When I returned the truck, I had exceeded my mileage by 80 miles, exactly the round trip distance from BR to NR. Store manager was unpleasant and borderline hostile, and the guy who checked in the truck was on a personal call via his earpiece the whole time and refused to interact with me. I finally got refund on disputed miles after several calls to 800#. If you must rent from u haul, make sure to adjust your mileage if they change location on you, and avoid this store at all costs. Theres a good reason their rating is so low.

0 STARS - Staff was VERY rude. When i spoke with them over the phone informing them of my returning a truck from a different location there was no mention of any additional costs, in fact he said there would be no problem. when we arrived to turn in they tried to charge me DOUBLE the cost! The manager michael was extremely unprofessional and rude. will never use this location for any of our business needs. I run a fleet of over 120 vehicles and would NEVER treat my customer this way! i will be placing a call in to formally complain about this location staff and lack of congenial service.

What good is a local telephone number when all of their calls are forwarded to a national hotline. The person on the other end couldnt do anything more than I could on line. When I needed to rent a truck for multiple days U-Haul dropped the ball. Here I come Budget.

The young man who originally received me as a customer and completed my reservation was very nice, patient, and courteous. Yet It was already dark by the time I picked up my rental so I had to drive on the road at night and the windshield was extremely filthy both inside and out. UHaul has you sign off on the contract that youre going to return the truck to them clean. I have no problem cleaning the truck once Ive dirtied it up if thats the case, but to have to stop and clean a window after renting a truck because I cannot see is unimaginable . It was very dirty, so was the rear view mirror. However they cleaned the interior. Yet it was so heavy with the scent of chemical in that little space that it was almost unbearable. I had to open the windows to air out the truck while driving to keep from coughing so much which was also unfortunate because it was cold outside. The location opens at 9 a.m. on the Sunday I dropped off. I returned to the same location at 8:50 a.m. to wait for them to open so that I can change my method of payment and be on my way. If I did not need to physically speak to someone I would have put the keys in the night box and left. So I waited until the agents arrived which was at 9:03 am. When I attempted to walk in I was stopped at the door by Taylor who said We are not actually open yet, and closed the door behind himself. At 9:06 he came back outside to find out which vehicle I was dropping off. He walked to the truck, collected the mileage, showed me the total, and told me he would put my return completion on hold because the young man inside was still opening the store. Just give him time to open and then they would help me. No problem. So there I stood outside waiting with my purse in the cold. I looked at my phone and noticed it was about 12 minutes after 9. It makes sense to me that if your business opens at 9 a.m and it takes 10 to 15 minutes to open your location, then you should be there 10 to 15 minutes early. I get that people run late at times so ok. I remained patient. However Taylor continued to move around the property going inside and out collecting keys from the Dropbox and looking at trucks, he passed me outside three times as I waited for them to open the store with no acknowledgement. Its not that I was looking for him to babysit me but being that I was outside waiting at his request it would have been nice for him to say maam a few more minutes or maam you can go ahead in now once the store was opened, as a courtesy. At about 9:20 I looked into the store and noticed that there were other people moving around in the store so I took it upon myself to step into the store to find four people in line that came in through the other entrance and also Mr. Taylor in side of the store. Out of respect for their business operations I waited outside for them to open and again Taylor passed me outside on three occasions and did not bother to say to me maam the store is open now you can go in and be helped. The fact that I had to wait outside in the cold for 15 minutes then come into the store and wait in line for another 15 minutes causing me to be extremely late for where it was that I had to go next was a major inconvenience and very poor customer service. Once inside Mr. Taylor passed me again and did not offer one single regret, he simply kept his head down. There was another young man moving around the location who didnt even bother to acknowledge myself or the other customers that was in the store. I use U-Haul all the time in Baton Rouge for transport, at least once a month. This was my first and last time using that location because it was by far the worst experience that I have had. I recommend the UHAUL on Florida Blvd. The owner is a sweet man, very professional and his trucks are always in good shape.

Went into to buy a hitch for my car. Luckily they had one available but did not offer to install it like they advertised. Did not appear to be working on other projects and the place was empty. Didnt even offer to help carry out to the car or help check that it was the right model. Lucky I had my wife with me. Would have walked away but in the end that wouldve been my inconvenience.

What a completely unhelpful and unaccomodating place. I only needed two furniture dollys and was unable to recieve more than a one word response...no. meanwhile, behind a stack of boxes there are a pile ready to be purchased and when i point it out after finding my own way to get a dolly, my rep shrugs. could have called other stores for inventory, could have made recommendations...nothing, zero, nada...no effort given.

TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICE. We brought a propane tank there to be filled. Dropped it off. When we went back the worker said he had no idea who I was. Also, Had no idea where my tank was. They will not give me a new one or replace the one i brought there. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only word they know is I dont know.they messed up the bottom of my car with a towing auto transport unnecessarily and did not attempt to compensate me for it or help assist me in other options to get my car and truck to my final destination!
