Everything about this place is great. Food and coffee are delicious with a great seating area. The one disappointment I have is the coffees are too small, so I’m tempted to always order two.
Who knew Battle Creek had such a great little coffee shop. Great atmosphere, and location. The coffee is excellent and so was the breakfast sandwich. Thank you for coming to downtown Battle Creek!
Ordered the Breakfast Waffle Sandwich, the Rosti Pollo, and a cafe miel. The cafe miel was very good with light honey and cinnamon touches to already good coffee. The waffle breakfast sandwich was also very good. The Rosti Pollo is quite possibly the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. The red chili sauce and peach jam knock it out of the park.
I’ve ordered iced coffee from this place twice on Grubhub. Both times the coffee was really disgusting in water down. The coffee I just got is literally transparent. This place is literally two minutes down the road from me. It seems like they just prepare the food and throw it in a bag and don’t care about how long it’s just sitting there before it reaches the customer. I won’t be ordering from here ever again because I was very disappointed in both the cold brew and the waffle sandwich. I honestly am not sure how this place has such good reviews considering it’s highly overpriced for the quality.
Love this place and the people. Get the cinnamon vanilla latte!
Great coffee, amazing atmosphere!! Definitely going to be a regular stop.
I had the seasonal apple pie lattee with oat milk and it was fantastic. They have a few vegan treats. Barista was helpful and knows his stuff. Bathrooms were clean. Overall very nice place.
I remember this cafe from its days in the shipping container. I havent gone back since, because I didnt particularly enjoy the coffees they served. I get it, they were limited with what they could do in a shipping container. I am kicking myself for not supporting this company since their move, and I apologise for that. My order today was a decaf caramel latte and a breakfast quesadilla. They were both delicious. The cafe itself is stunning, with real plants all over, and a selfie wall, which I regretfully forgot to take a picture of or with. I guess Ill just have to go back.
Great atmosphere, wonderful service. The art on the walls is fun. I had their Orange Blossom Cold Brew with cream. Excellent flavor.
It was good and all but the place was Smokey from them cooking + we saw a guy with a lbgtq shirt on so that was nice and I liked the art they had inside it was pretty good
This is my go-to spot here in Battle Creek. The atmosphere, drinks and food are all incredible. Were really lucky to have such a spectacular coffee shop here in BC!
Really interesting place. I like the menu, not your usual fare. Really friendly service, seem eager to make your visit pleasant. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT.
Really great coffee, food and service. They always have something new depending on the season
The staff is very cordial! I was super indecisive and they helped me pick the perfect drink, a Orange Mocha. Absolutely delicious! 🤤🍊☕
An awesome coffee and lunch place in BC. Great vibes.
Solid food, great drinks ( I had the faith orange lemonade)and from what I hear the coffee is great.
Café Rica is one of those places where you walk in and just get a good vibe. And thats just walking in the door! Everything about Café Rica rocks, from the food to the coffee and even the way its decorated, its very aesthetically pleasing. I especially love how they incorporate local artists work as part of their interior decoration. How it doubles as a way for those artists to make money (cause you can buy the paintings right off the wall) and get recognition for their work. Last but certainly not least, yall gotta snag some of their merch. Its legit, everything from the stickers to the clothes to the water bottle.
Walk in atmosphere was mellow. Greeted at entry. Everyone smiled.
Our first time and we were very impressed. Good food and excellent coffee! Love to see this in Battle Creek. The decor and atmosphere is very cosmopolitan. So happy to have you here in downtown Battle Creek!
Cafe Rica controls and curates the culture in Battle Creek. Tristan and Jackson are doing a great service to the local Battle Creek area. These brothers are next level community builders.Edit: I cant believe I wrote this entire review without mentioning how great the cold brew coffee is. Its seriously the best coffee Ive ever had. Highly recommend Cafe Rica in Battle Creek.
Helpful staff. Good coffee. Great atmosphere
Awesome food. Great coffee. And wonderful atmosphere.Edit: Need appetizers! I think bruschetta would do well here, avocado toast, and plates to share.
Ive had the pleasure of watching Tristan and Jackson grow from an e-commerce store, to a popup coffee shop at trade shows and events, to their first location in a modified shipping container (very cool btw), to a legit brick and mortar location on W Michigan Ave, to a soon to be opened permanent location in the heart of downtown. These two have been through a lot along their journey and they never once thought about quitting. They embody the Battle Creek drive and spirit. I will continue to support them until my teeth decay from too much coffee!
Nice place, great food. Im not a coffee drinker so was happy to see Pomegranate Lemonade. Quesedilla and Tostadas were both very good.
Only got coffee and was amazing but the food looks bomb.
Probably some of the best coffee I had in awhile. Will definitely be going again in the future.
Good coffee and nice place to sit. Only had the food once. To be honest that is because I tend to go to coffee shops for good coffee and restaurants for good food.
I love how spacious this place is. It is bright and welcoming. I tried seasonal apple pie latte and it was delicious. I also had the seasonal Cider Mill Waffles - extremely good. This was my first time here. I have been wanting to try Cafe Rica for a long time. Hopefully next time I can dine in and enjoy the nice outdoor seating. I also love that they aspire to be as earth-friendly as possible.
Ordered through Grubhub.I was confused by the quality of the food we received, based on so many good reviews. The churro pancakes were dry and burnt. The only thing differentiating the churro pancakes from regular pancakes was a heavy dusting of cinnamon on the top pancake. It doesn’t specify on GH that the pancakes don’t come with syrup, however it did come with a Tbsp of icing. I’d hope that had we been dining in they’d serve decent pancakes. But these seemed to have been forgotten about on the griddle and packed to go anyway. Honestly, McDonald’s hotcakes were significantly superior. The bagel sandwiches would have been great had they not made a mistake on the toppings. The avocado sunrise was requested to add onion while the ham bagel doesn’t come with onions. They put onions on the wrong one, resulting in my fiancé not consuming it due to the onions being mushed into the cream cheese. It was a total waste. Should we be in the area, I may consider giving CR another try. But clearly whomever was expediting to go orders today was not paying attention to details.
The place has a nice welcoming atmosphere, so I thought the staff would be similar, but apparently I was wrong. I came here two weeks ago and I had to stand at the counter for like 5-6 minutes before anyone addressed me (even though I was the only customer standing at the counter). Not even a simple hi or “I’ll be right with you” type of thing, which isn’t much to ask for. Also, there were 3 people sitting right by the workers that had no masks on, and maybe they had been drinking coffee/eating before I got there, but it didn’t seem like they were still currently having anything when I came in- just sitting around maskless. The girl who brought my coffee over to me also had her mask down. This was 2 weeks ago, prior to Michigan’s mask regulations changing. I felt very uncomfortable and unwanted here!Edit: I do appreciate the cafe reaching out and apologizing for my experience- I hope to give them another shot in the near future and see if I can have an enjoyable experience!
Fast, friendly, very good food and service.
Great little place staff is amazing amd great food
Good looking place friendly but very pricey. Good vibes, but didnt try the food.
Absolutely fantastic drinks, people and atmosphere. Locally owned as well, which is a plus. Very friendly, accomadating and inviting. They have patio seating as well as indoor. Theyve got a cute little to-go section of crafted canned drinks you can take home, also merch for the store. Will continue to come here as long as theyre open! Their chai is great, get the iced chai for a surprise twist in the drink, works really well. :)
Cute place. Good decor good vibes. Ample parking (on account of lack prnpopularity of downtown battlecreek...). Polite staff.Had a turmeric latte, son had a gingerpom drink. Came back for a bagel.Could use a revisit to try some more items on menu but five stars from me for now
Very nice service and a nice atmosphere. Pricing is similar to other coffee joints, but the coffee here is great! I dont like it when youre coffee is so sweet with sugar and flavorings that you can hardly taste the coffee. Thats not the case here. I got the Maple Latte, and I could actually taste the maple and the coffee. Good Job Cafe Rica!
Great service and great people with great food and drinks!
The barristas are nice, the coffee is good. I wish they had a better selection of pastries (just muffins as far as I could see). Really want them to do well so trying to support local businesses.
Very busy and active space. Clean and friendly staff and patrons.
A very nice atmosphere, very friendly and customers were friendly as well. A very kind gentleman, baught my daughter a got coco!😊 Will be going here more often! They also serve food, but unfortunately, I did not look at their menu. I will next time and order something, as well!
I went to this charming Cafe for the first time today. They have been open for a year and this was my first time hearing about them. The staff was lovely and super friendly. They were very helpful with ordering and seemed genuinely happy to help. Rachel and Hannah both took the time to help me and were both incredibly sweet. The decor of the Cafe was very interesting and cozy. They have a large mural of a flamingo, local artists works, exposed brick, vibrant tile, as well as very cute seating. I also adored how they had little succulents and other plants placed around the restaurant. My favorite was the little Coffee Tree up by where you grab your food to go.I got my food to go. I chose the Tico Tosatadas and added egg. The homemade tortillas were so good. I also bought a tall Apple Gingerbread Tea Latte with coconut milk. The food was delicious. I meant to take a picture before I took my first bite but couldnt wait. And I absolutely love the tea latte. It wasnt overly sweet and it tasted delicious.Im very impressed with the quality of the ingredients and the overall experience.I greatly look forward to getting food to go again and the opportunity to dine-in eventually.Wonderful atmosphere, wonderful staff, and wonderful food.
My favorite place to eat in and around Battle Creek. Very good and very consistent.
I cant rate it, someone else was getting something to drink and they didnt like it.
Very nice spot!
Absolutely love this place!! Such a cute atmosphere and has VERY GOOD FOOD AND DRINKS!! It’s a bit expensive but it’s rightfully so considering their food is very healthy and natural!! Their strawberry lemonade is amazing!!! I appreciate their priorities such as being a sustainable business and supporting vegetarian options!! 💓🌿
One of my associates in Las Vegas gave me a cup of coffee that he buys from Cafe Rica and it sure is tasty. I know where Im buying my next shipment of coffee from. Well done Cafe Rica this is great coffee. You know how to source a good product. Delicious!
I have really enjoyed my experiences there! The staff was friendly and accommodating! It was beautiful, spacious and very clean! The food was very good also!
Great décor, great service, great food, and great coffee! I got the Churro Pancakes with a hot chocolate (with a shot or orange syrup) and everything was fantastic! I could totally see more Café Ricas pop up throughout Michigan and beyond.
Love their coffee and breakfast foods. Staff is always friendly and atmosphere is nice and clean. One of our faves.
The breakfast quesadillas are amazing and the cashier/ waitress was a joy.
Great staff, great foods, great coffee and beverages. Observes coivd protocols. Check them out!
After having this delivered twice, I invited my sister and nephew to lunch- it is SO cute! Very clean and comfortable environment and amazing food and drinks! The guys are so fun and helpful, I can see myself becoming a regular here!
Amazing cold brew coffee!
Love, love, love their lattes!
Had great experience with good drinks and food on previous trips. This time the flavor did not hit the mark and was more on the bland side. Ordered Tica Wrap and Maria’s Tortillas. Can improve consistency of flavors.
Best food and coffee for miles and miles and miles!!!!
The coffee was absolutely amazing i had the vanilla nitro cold brew with an espresso bomb and their classic chicken sandwich is to die for. Im completely in love with the atmosphere and all of the employees were amazing. Bonus they use sustainable materials to serve their food and drinks including paper straws!! I will definitely be recommending them!!
The Old Fashioned was incredible! Love the cocktail themed n/a coffee drinks.
Wow! Found this gem during a road trip. So glad we stopped in. Amazing coffee menu choices. My partner and I inhaled our breakfast. I ordered a monte Cristo, it was perfection! Made fresh, perfect sweet and savory combo. Bf had a steak and egg quesadilla. Baristas were attentive and very helpful when I was looking to take home a bag of coffee beans. Cant wait to share this at the next family gathering.
Orange mocha and cayenne mocha always excellent.
If you dont know, you should find out. Outstanding coffee from outstanding people. The cold brew and pour over are great but I especially LOVE the espresso. They feature Costa Rican coffee and stand out from other coffee joints with their own unique style. They also do a lot to support the community. I HIGHLY recommend.
Love the atmosphere and coffee. Such friendly owners/staff. Stop in soon. Yes, they do have food also. Nice places to sit outside.
Favorite coffee place when going to Battle Creek!
Love the coffee and the atmosphere!
A fun, laid back environment. Always great recommendations if I cant make up my mind! I am happy to have the place in Battle Creek.
Dan sent me
Very cozy coffee shop. Plus the coffee was cheap...
A good cup of coffee and a great space to meet with people. I look forward to trying more of the menu items.
Excellent coffee and great staff. Battle Creek has needed something besides mediocre chain coffee and this place has filled that spot. You can tell the people here really care about their product. We will definitely be back.
First time back since they shut down temporarily. But me and the wife ordered the House Quesadilla and a Decaf Coffee and it was AMAZING! Will be returning again!
Great atmosphere. The owners take pride in their space and business. Friendly. Centrally located downtown for ease on the morning commute. Price comparable to the franchise coffee shops, and provides a better product.
Excellent coffee and great service! Good atmosphere for an impromptu meeting or a sit-and-read. Love the goodies! So happy to see such a great local coffee shop just wished they were open later in the evenings a few nights a week.
The BEST coffee in Battle Creek! The punch cards and mug club specials are added bonuses. Tristan and Jackson are very knowledgeable about the coffee and products they offer, as well as always adding new items and trying new brews! The personalized service you get is hands-down, the best. You will not be disappointed with anything you get!
I’ve been going there since they were in a pop-up shipping container and they make the best coffee in town. They made great coffee then and their still making great coffee now. Can’t wait to see what they’ve got in store for the future.
Great spot with tasty coffee and yummy breakfast sandwiches!
Great coffee, friendly staff, and awesome atmosphere!
Nice cozy place, all the employees were kind and polite
Amazing
Good place to stop by
My team loves Cafe Rica. We have Cafe Ricas Gold Brew on tap 24/7 at the office. Ive converted the whole team to Cold Brew coffee. Highly recommend checking out Cafe Rica and getting a cup of their cold brew. Much better than Starbuckingtons
I had the house quesdilla..Very good..do not be impatient..its worth the short wait..
Really is the best coffee in Battle Creek! Great atmosphere, location and service. The owners are awesome people! I recommend joining the mug club to get the best deals.
Great coffee and even better atmosphere! These guys definitely know their stuff and are so friendly and helpful. I love their menu and look forward to stopping in each week.
Outstanding coffee. Ive never had a better cup. Im often confused by the coffee because it just tastes so good. Its hard to compare it to anything else because its simply the best coffee available.
Great coffee! Service was decent
Friendly Staff, quick service and nice atmosphere...
Owners are very friendly and coffee is good. Nice having a local coffee shop to support!
Amazing place!
These guys make my day. I never know what I want but they provide endless options. Definitely come here for a good brew.
Tried a cup of the pour over brew on a cold day when the rain began t I turn to snow and the flavors pulled from the fresh grounds were phenomenal! Recommend to anyone passing through.
