I visited the Promenade location with my mother on October 21, after waiting over 2 weeks for an appointment for an eye exam with the optometrist. I found the optometrist to be kind and efficient, apologizing for any extra time it may have taken her to complete the exam with me due to the office’s recent transition to using an EHR. However, the optometrist and the initial encounter with the one brunette salesgirl were the only two positives I feel I can comment on here. The brunette completed some pre-testing with me prior to my meeting with the optometrist. She was also quick/efficient and not unkind.The optometrist asked salesgirl Savannah to help me once I returned to the sales floor. My initial encounter with Savannah (prior to meeting with the optometrist) involved running my vision insurance through their new system. She proceeded to sigh loudly and mutter the name of the insurance. I felt as if my insurance was somehow offensive! Now, after returning to the floor, I did not receive help with choosing frames, even through I mentioned numerous times that I had questions and had never had glasses before. I had one question about one pair of frames and had to take a photo, bring the frames to her, and be told that “no, there are no other sizes”.I asked to have the final bill for my exam plus a copy of the prescription, and was motioned to sit in a chair to wait. With no updates whatsoever, I waited over 30 minutes for these items. She barely said one sentence to me the entire time with no apologies or updates on the delays in service.The prescription given to me was not signed by the optometrist. The name of the optometrist isn’t even on the script. I was willing to spend hundreds of dollars out-of-pocket for frames/lenses and left VisionWorks with nothing.On a side note: my mother accompanied me to this appointment to have a pair of her glasses adjusted and asked Savannah for help. Savannah started to help her and abandoned her mid-help to help other patrons.One- star for VisionWorks Bolingbrook due to the kind and efficient optometrist.ETA: I was there for 1.5 hours - inexcusable when they were hardly busy.

I usually do hate going to pick glasses because I don’t know what works for me. I went in and was greeted by Savanah. She helped me find frames which I absolutely adore as well as helped me understand my vision insurance and how to get the most out of my benefits. My time there was quick, painless and fun as we sat & joked. Will be returning here every year .. thank you Savanah.

I had an appointment at 4:00, and my son at 4:20, on 9/9. However, I didnt get past the front desk. I was basically immediately told that our insurance wasnt accepted, with no effort on the associates part to find out if that is actually true. We have Ford SVS insurance and had confirmed beforehand that VisionWorks simply had to call their phone number and confirm the exam coverage, a phone number I came with and provided. The associate didnt even bother trying and kept telling me that another woman with Ford insurance came in that day and hers wasnt accepted. What does that have to do with me? My situation couldve been entirely different and an employee dealing with the public should treat every interaction as its own. I was told VisionWorks doesnt call third-party numbers. Thats news to me - I used to work in the health field and its pretty common practice for a medical office to call and confirm coverage (and we have subsequently validated AGAIN with SVS that that was indeed what was supposed to have happened yesterday). Even IF I was wrong, what harm would it do to make the phone call and find out? It definitely gave the impression that she just didnt want to. She wasnt budging, so I left infuriated because I wasnt about to pay out-of-pocket for something that should have been covered just because a small effort couldnt even be made (which is my biggest issue).I was in the market for glasses AND sunglasses, which I was planning to pay for outside of insurance. VisionWorks, you are going to lose business if you continue to allow this to happen.

First off the store & staff were outstanding it was clean well lit everybody was on their job, that place runs like a well-oiled machine no joke Im a business owner. The doctor was outstanding he took the time to explain everything! It was the best eye exam Ive ever had in my life, all the equipment is state-of-the-art or newer and right there at the doctors fingertips I know now more about my eyes than Ive known in my whole life and Im not a uneducated man, Im 54 years old Ive been wearing glasses since I was 40. I just cant say enough good about it and the prices were decent I threw a little extra money at it from what my insurance would cover and ended up with two pairs of glasses one sunglasses with my bifocal and correct lens in a sunglass and then a pretty nice looking pair of no tint glasses with my bifocal for under 200 bucks.. frames, lenses & everything! HOW can you beat that you CANT Ive looked all over!!My old doctor stopped taking my insurance you guys are my new spot for eye Care.Best regardsPatrick Kelly

Will not recommend this place at all!!!! Poor customer service and the front desk person will not help you in any way! My appointment was canceled twice and on the day of my son’s appointment the information that I have provided them was not in the system at all. Go somewhere else, they’re not interested in getting any business!!! Poor attitude and not willing to help anybody.

I literally do not know where to start with this company. My first experience at the Bloomingdale location was TERRIBLE, so I thought Id try a different location. Apparently, all of the locations only hire unfriendly, RUDE and completely UNKNOWLEDGEABLE employees. I will NEVER ever return to any Visionworks location. End of story.

Went here to get glasses before the end of the year. They require appointments which are quick and easy to make online. Savanah was patient with me answered all my questions regarding my benefits and various options. You may consider looking at their website as well as they can order those for you as well if you have questions. Definitely recommend.

Laura was very patient, friendly, and kept an eye on me while I was trying glasses to buy. I will most definitely go back. Everything was efficient and quick!

The doctor was wonderful, however the manager was rude. I had to get new lenses in my 2 existing pairs and one new frame. A pair of glasses was lost in transit. It happened to be my favorite pair that I had ordered six years ago, so the frames were no longer available. I was told to come in to pick out a new pair. I believe I was owed the entire pair of glasses-frames and lenses-but ended up paying for the lenses. Bad business. I was very disappointed and will not be a returning customer.

This was my first visit to Visionworks. I ordered 3 pairs of glasses. I was hesitant since my regular optometrist always had some issue with either the test or the making of the glasses. Here at Visionworks Bolingbrook, my test went perfect 20/20 on the final product. After the test I saw Ms. Laura G. and she spent about an hour with me going over all 3 pairs making sure the bi-focals fell in the right place so I woulnt have to tilt my head back. She was very proffesional, got all 3 pairs perfect! She also set me up with a rebate on one of the brands I purchased. She is a very kind and caring person to work with. it was a very pleasant overall experience I would highly recommend.

DO NOT GO HERE if you can at all avoid it. Number one, the location is hard to find. The door is hidden away and the store is hard to find. Two, the staff are unfriendly and unhelpful. The manager or whoever was in charge (a younger black woman) was disrespectful to both the staff and to the clients. She ordered her staff around from the center of the store by pointing her fingers at people, and kept moving staff around from client to client. The only saving grace was that the doctor who saw me was very nice and helpful. The staff were very rude and I ended up just paying for the doctors appointment and walking out. Please, if you have any self respect, go somewhere else for your vision care.

Horrible experience in visiting the store this afternoon. After making my appointment for an eye exam and making my appointment at Visionworks Today at 2:40 I was told that I had to have an additional exam to look behind the eyes (retina ) and that it would be a 19.99 copay.I didn’t want this extra exam and was told to accept or they won’t do a regular eye exam. They should be upfront when One is making the appointment . This practice is deceiving and very inappropriate. The black women who is supposedly in charge was rude and very unprofessional. I see I am not the only one who has posted negative comments on this black women. As I walked out she said “Have a nice day sir”. She was sarcastic indeed !!!Deceptive practices !!!! I guess they want to make up for lost revenue by charging additional exams !!!

Very cold and rude staff.My doctor was great and informative, but everyone on the floor and accepting calls was the absolute worst!When I called to schedule an appointment the receptionist was short and I felt rushed to pick a time and get off the phone. Upon arriving there was 5 or 6 ladies standing around all chatting, I was asked to Take A Seat Over There with a wave to the left of the store. I had to clarify which desk they actually were pointing to because it was not clear.I started trying on frames and trying to shop around and no one dared to come and help me. The overall vibe was that I was invisible and these girls had better things they could be doing.I was extremely upset by the lack of mirrors in the facility, some of the posters showing people in the frames should be replaced with larger mirrors. I had to juggle carrying 5-6frames walking back and forth to one of the 4 thin wall mirrors in the facility.My final complaint is when it came time to pickup my glasses. I recieved a text that read pair 1 of my order is ready. I only ordered 1 thing so I called to confirm this meant my glasses were in fact in and not some other status of some kind. The receptionist answered and replied saying You got a text? then they are in.She didnt even bother to double check or pretend to check. I decided to go in shortly after that call and once again was waved to take a seat over there with a faint point/wave to the right of the store. I had to clarify which desk again.She proceeded to call someone else to the front to help me and this girl took her sweet time coming over and addressing me. She was not helpful with checking the fitting of my new glasses.I will not be returning to this store and I wont recommend it to anyone else.

I was going to a different optical where service wasn’t as great .. then my insurance changed so I came to Visionworks. I worked with Savannah and received a great deal. I have been going to Visionworks for about 6-8 years. However, after my last experience in September of this year, I wont be a returning customer. I had an eye exam on September 14 and had to have new lenses put in 2 of my existing pairs and ordered one new pair. 2 weeks later I was called by the manager of the Bolingbrook store and was told 2 pair came in but the other pair was lost in transit. It happened to be my favorite existing pairs that I purchased about 6 yrs ago and was no longer in stock. Now I had the inconvenience of having to go back in and pick out a new frame-which I told would be of no charge. When I went back in early October to pick them up, I asked if I would be reimbursed for the lenses as well. The manager was not in to talk about this issue and I was told by the associate that she would have her call me about this. This was on a Friday and by the following Tuesday, she still did not return my call regarding this matter. The following Friday I picked up the new glasses, the manager was there and did not say one word to me. I ended calling Customer Service 4 times, and each time I was told that I would be contacted by a territory manager. The last call was on Oct. 26. Ive heard NOTHING! Very poor business! I believe that I should have been reimbursed for the frames and lenses, especially for my inconvenience and aggravation.

This was the second time my husband and I visited this Visionworks in Bolingbrook. Like before the service was exceptional. We were greeted by several employees but the manager is the person that helped us out the most. Sandra was great! She stepped in after we saw the doctor and helped my husband and I pick out some great frames, explained our options for payment, and did it expeditiously. Also our glasses were finished the next day. Thanks to Sandra and all the other staff at this location.

I have had a lot of poor customer service experiences in the past, but this place takes the cake.I went with my fiance recently to get her prescription updated and that was a trip in itself. Staff was rude and inattentive each time. Our order was late and no notification to us was made.And that was just the first time.I was silly enough to go back to this location to update her sunglasses to the new prescription for a birthday present. She wanted to keep her old frames cause they were sentimental to her, and I took them in to just get the new lenses.I confirmed with them several times their hours and my cell phone number (I was trying to keep it a surprise to her) so they could update me (knowing how we were handled before, I thought maybe if I am a little clearer it will go smoother). It was over 2 months of me calling with no replies. Turns out they lost her glasses. Cant tell me what even happened to them. And now I still cant even get them on the phone.If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Save your time and go ANYWHERE else.

I went to this specific location for new eye glasses and contacts. The staff members were nice and helpful. Sandra was extremely helpful and nice! She made my visit easy and informed me of all the benefits and promotions they have. She is professional, nice and she informed me of a specific contact lense for my vision. I don’t have to wear reading glasses on top of my contacts 😊. She took the time to help me choose the glasses that best fit me. If you need new glasses or contacts this is the place to go!

Bought my husbands glasses here late last year by the end of the year they were scratched.....not normal scratching either.....like a defect. We took them back and even the person there agreed it was not normal scratching....but we still had to pay a deductible......told us the lens would be in in 7 days.....we stop in 2 weeks later....because we havent heard anything.....lens r there but we keep getting told the guy that does come into fix glasses has been out for months sick.....so we ask to have the lens sent somewhere else....doesnt seem to be an option so we are stuck with this location.....someone else steps in..she says she will get this taken care of this week......they actually call us to say lens are done and give us the days we can come in to have them put into the glasses....we get there and the lens are LOST..stood around for an hour n still could not locate them.....so this has been going on since the end of the year and now it is the end of January and lens are missing....not going back.....would not recommend this location ....have no idea if the other locations are any better but avoid this one at all costs!!

Went in today to order my glasses. Sandra is the one who helped complete the process of getting my glasses and I reall enjoyed sitting there talking with her. I recently experienced so many obstacles going to another Visionworks so it was so rewarding to finally go somewhere and feel like I wasn’t just there to give my money and get out. Worst experience ever if I could give 0 stars I would! Me and my husband went to get our eyes checked and purchase new glasses. The eye specialist, Savannah, was very short and rude the entire time. She failed to explain our insurance benefits we had to constantly ask for what was covered. I picked out my frames and even paid extra to get thinner lenses based on her suggestions. We went to pick up our glasses and had the same specialist, again with the same attitude. My glasses came with the most MASSIVE THICK lenses possible. Then the specialist just disappeared and we waited about 15 minutes for the manager to come. She came with no remorse or introduction. She then went on about how I chose the wrong frames and they would not have known how the lenses would turn out, even though the specialist said otherwise. My husband had to specifically ask for the managers name, Crystal, because she did not introduce herself once. I now had to reorder new lenses, pay extra, and wait another 10 days for new glasses. Do not make the same mistake of going to this location and dealing with such poor customer service.

One of you managers by the name of Crystal was attentive not only to me but to all of the customers that came in. I went to this location for a consultation visit on new eyeglasses and contact lenses, the staff members were friendly and helpful especially Sandra she was very intuitive and informative on specific eyewear and contacts for astigmatism she made my visit easy and comfortable. I was able to purchase eyeglasses that suited me to which Sandra helped me find just the right style for me along with specific comfortable contacts to wear daily. Overall I had a great experience if ever you happen to need new eyewear or contacts this is the place to check out.

This place is getting 2 stars because the optometrist I dealt with, Daniel Trotta OD, was awesome. He was super informative in helping me problem solve issues with my eyes. He shared better ways to increase my focus while reducing eye strain. He was super personable and didnt pressure me into services I didnt need. He gets 5 stars.I visited on 11/12.The associates working, aside from the girl ringing me up, get -1 star. Their level of customer service would get me written up or worse at my job.I got there early for a noon appointment and the girl working asked me to sit at a table to wait for my associate who hadnt arrived yet. She then proceeded to sit at the desk looking at her phone not saying another word to me or the other guy patiently waiting. When the girl who was set to work with me came in after noon, she took another 10 minutes to walk around and complain to the other employees about how hungry she was without acknowledging me. When she finally came over, she looked like I was an inconvenience on her day. She had trouble logging me in with my VSP insurance and had me call them without offering to help. After I sat on hold for 15 minutes I finally asked if there was something she could be doing. She said they dont have access. Regardless of if they have any option to help lookup someones ID, she could have at least pretended to care. Finally I got through to VSP, got my ID, moved through all the preliminary tests and had the in-depth exam with the optometrist.After going through all the frame options available I asked if I could take advantage of the buy one get one half off deals that were plastered all over the store but was denied because I was using insurance. Kind of annoying but Im usually not one to argue. I paid for my order and left before noticing that they didnt give me an ETA for when my glasses would be ready.Before I came back to pickup my new glasses I noticed online there were a ton of BOGO deals for when you use vision insurance. I brought up the deal to the girl working when I picked up my glasses and she reluctantly said we usually only do that on the same day transactions but I guess we could do that. After all the cold interactions I had in there I decided I dont want to spend any more money at that store. In a time when you can buy anything online, one would think that employees at a store would care about helping the few actual customers that come in. Its businesses like this that make online shopping many peoples go-to.

I’ve used this location for ordering contacts/glasses for the past year. Every time I come in the customer service is lack luster, which is annoying but I deal with it. Today I came in to order more contacts and asked if I could have a sample pair while I wait for my order which in the past they’ve done no problem. I asked the girl who I was working with and she instantly said no with an attitude. I wasn’t given a reason as to why they couldn’t, nothing regarding on a new policy change or that my prescription wasn’t in stock. I just got up and left. If you’re looking for customer service, this location is definitely the place you want to go.

I can definitely understand why they get such a low rating now. I am patient w/ customer service reps because I am one, but this was just nonsense. The only reason Im giving 2 stars is for doctor & 2nd sales rep who helped me. The 2nd rep was actually nice and informative about what my insurance offered me, but to be honest, I will continue to buy my glasses online. I originally came here only because the exam is covered by my insurance and was going to take my prescription and order online like i have done in the past, but, once told my insurance will cover frames, I didnt see reason to do that anymore- now I do. The first lady who helped me was annoyed, didnt even say hi, just a sit here and fired off questions to me. Alright. The doctor was very friendly, once I was done, I was asked to go back out and wait for the next associate, who was nice HOWEVER, a piece of advice to the associates of this store: when you get a personal call on the work phone, dont make it obvious. I used to get the same calls and I worked literally 300ft across from you, but speaking loudly in a small store will get you the Im a customer, and youre taking personal calls?! attitude people will give you. Your wallet will suffer at Pearle Vision, but their customer service is great, whereas here, you literally get what you pay for.

Overall, a great experience! We were in & out within one hour and the two pairs of glasses we ordered for my son will be ready within 24 hours. Thats service! We were greeted warmly upon entering, shown the kids glasses, given time to look without being bothered/upselled/etc. When we were ready to sit down for a fitting, we did have to wait 5-10 mins for someone to help us (and there werent any other customers in the shop) but otherwise, the fitting went smoothly and the lady was excellent at her job! We were treated superbly well, she was super sweet to my boy and very pleasant to work with. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for glasses who want friendly service and a great selection of frames in a short amount of time!

While I was not to enthused about having vision problems and having to wear glasses, the staff here in Bolingbrook made me feel so secure and confident about my new look. HORRIBLE service! Dropped my glasses off for repair on a Friday. They said the guy who restrings glasses was gone for the day and they wouldn’t be ready to early the following week and they would call me. I called THEM the following Thursday inquiring and was told I could pick them up the next morning by 11 am. Showed up 11:40...watched them search for my glasses, only to take them out of the reception area drawer, not in any protective case, and walk them back to the area to be fixed. THEY HADNT EVEN STARTED TO FIX THEM! When I asked why, the woman told me she was the one who did the repairs, and she wasn’t making any excuses but she had been busy all morning! WOW! When I told her she was making excuses she became upset and huffed off to the back area!! Time to take my family’s business elsewhere where they VALUE their customers and their time!

This place is garbage. No one is ever on top of it. Every time I come in my appointment is a half hour late. I get asked for the same information 10x because no one pays attention. Their glasses and contacts are way over priced no matter what discount they offer. Would literally recommend anyone else. Never coming here again.

I wish I had read the reviews before getting my glasses here. I thought they were overpriced, but I was desperate, so I got them here. Its been 17 days and my glasses still arent ready.I will say the doctor and one of the saleswomen were very nice.

Walked in on Sat. Dec 1st... Glasses needing Repair. I was met with 3 wonderful greetings & smiles.. Told the 3 ladies my dilemma... Sandra fixed my glasses in less than 5 mins... And she did it with Joy! Now some might say I sound extreme BUT in a world where Great Customer Service is lacking & service with a frown is the order of the day... These women @ Visionworks need to know they were appreciated. Thank U soooo much Bolingbrook Visionworks Team & Sandra 4 Making my day. For my annual eye exam & glasses... The lady who did the intitial exam was polite... The eye doctor was Fabulous.. Then it all went down hill... I had the unfortunate privlege of being processed by SAVANNAH... Now, at 1st I wasnt going 2 leave this review bc I figured maybe she was having a bad day But after reading other reviews & seeing ppl describe her the same way I exprienced her... Yes I must! This young lady Savannah came off so disinterested in social engagement.. Meaning, Normally the staff will ask if u need help with choosing a frame, they will make sure your glaases of choice are properly positioned on your face BEFORE they mark the measurements on your glasses.. They usually offer a 2nd pair of glasses or cleaning solution... Something... But SAVANNAH, smh... This young lady acted like she didnt even wanna touch my face. After I walked the store in circles for about 45mins, with abour 9 pair of frames in my hand, she finally asked did I need help picking a frame. I told her yes but not brown, purple or burgundy bc I had those colors already and that I liked some of what I had in my hand but I cudnt make a decision bc I cudnt see out the frames clearly bc they were dirty.. One wud think she wudve offered to clean the frames so I cud make an informed decision but Nope.. She ignored that statement. So now it felt like she just wanted me gone. She brought me 3 frames, 1 of which I already had in years past. The other two were brown. I reminded her that I already had brown frames in previous years, I wanted somethn lighter for the Spring / Summer.. So Finally, I just picked somethn out of desperation bc I knew it was time to go. We sit at the table & SAVANNAH is great at typing, but her social interaction skills with me aa a customer was awful.. As I stated earlier, she was abour to do measurements, I put the frames on. SAVANNAH said, Is that how u wanna wear em?... I said Im not sure, they feel ok right now but I thought U all assist in making sure they are on properly..? I got no response. She did kindly tell me my total, took payment and gave me my receipt. Very disinterested, disengaged, Nonchalant, No smile.., That is until another staff member came in. Then SAVANNAH lit up like a brand new light bulb... So instead if her asking me did I need any cleaner for my glasses or offering to clean up my old ones... All I got it was Hey Friend... And she wasnt even talking to me... Smh. I think Miss SAVANNAH does not like this job. Needless to say, its been about 5yrs that Ive visited this location so its time for a change. Thx SAVANNAH for making that happen!

Horrible service. Arrived 45 minutes early to my appt yesterday and was given an exam right away. However, it literally took the employees about 30 minutes to sit down with me and order my glasses. I was the only one in the store with two employees working. I was charged $320 for a $69.95 pair of frames and Transition lenses. Looked at my receipt when I got home and saw they charged me for the eye exam, which they should have billed my insurance.Called them this morning and I flat out caught them in a lie. They told me that the $49 discount was reflected in the discount total at the bottom of the receipt. I asked them to tell me what insurance and the policy number they had to submit the claim. They put me on hold to work out their next lie to me.She then admitted they never ran my insurance through! So not only did she lie to me but the manager was going to allow his employees to steal $49 from me!This is the very last time Im going to VisionWorks and will make sure TriCare knows what a horrible place this is.
