Rockler is the Toys R Us for adult woodworkers. I dont think there has been a time that a 5 minute I just have to pick up X turns into wandering for 2 hours and finding the thing I really needed only to remember last minute what I came for. The people that work there are more than helpful and the 2 hours always seems to fly by. The Bolingbrook location has great staff and is in a good location right near the orange hardware store so it makes it nice to find the good stuff the orange store doesnt stock right up the street to finish your project right.
Amazing store! Found exactly what I needed for carving my self-bow. Wish I could go in there with a couple thousand $$$.
Very nice and clean store. Employees were helpful and polite.
Always very helpful and great selection Equipment and accessories.
This place is great! I have just started really getting into woodworking and Rocklers has everything you need. I got a gift card for Christmas to here and went in to get a random orbital sander. They had a few brand name sanders to choose from. They are very friendly and helpful. The only problem that I have had is that I have been in there 3 times now and every time I have went in Im really swarmed with employees that keep asking me if I need help. The first time I thought that they were just being friendly but by the 3rd visit it made me feel like they didnt trust me in the store. I just went in yesterday and no joke I had 4 different employees ask me in a matter of 5 minutes if I needed help. It gets a little aggravating. Im building a kitchen island and was looking for a gel stain. I know that at least 3 of the employees were standing there when the first guy asked if I needed help. They all heard me say no thank you Im good. But less then a minute later the second asked. I politely said no thank you. 2 minutes later the third asked. Again politely I said no. I then moved to the clearance section just to have a look and the fourth came over and asked. At that point I got frustrated and paid for my stain and left. Great place but they really need to ease up on the help.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Kevin is always willing to share his experience and help new turners learn. Good quality tools and material.
Awesome place. Knowledgeable staff. Paying for convenience tho.
Great place for any Dyi dude, could have spent an hour there. Will be back often.
Rockler is fantastic. The location is easy to get to. Lots of parking. The employees are knowledgeable and helpful. They run educational events frequently. They carry high quality products so you will pay a premium but its worth it for quality results. Check the flyer for sale items. I shop here frequently and would gladly go here compared to the big box stores.
The sales rep did a great job of helping us along with directing us to lunch after. Great store.
Great store, very friendly staff
Wonderful experience. Greeted at the door, asked what project I needed help with and provided advice that I needed. I Will definitely be back soon
I tried to do some Black Friday shopping at the Bolingbrook store and couldnt. No carts for parents to place children in. Frustrated, I grabbed a few small things that I could hold in my one free arm and checked out not getting nearly what I came for. NOT A SINGLE ONE of the 6 or 8 employees working offered to help or take the items up for me so I could get more, or just push a cart for me since they were literally standing around chatting at the front counter. I was one of only two customers in the entire store.I reached out on Twitter and all I got was Someone from our retail leadership team will reach out. I got that message twice. That was it. Its been 3 days and thats how customer service handles complaints about discriminating against parents.I went back to return the items after I didnt hear anything for two days. It was more of the same, an associate was standing behind the counter and was annoyed he had to pause his conversation with 3 other staff who were also standing at the counter, to do the return for me. Eye rolling and scoffing like a teenager who doesnt want to clean their room. So rude.I have been shopping here for years and it just gets worse and worse every time I go. Long story short, if you have kids, bring a stroller or dont shop here. Or better yet, just dont because they dont care.
Very helpful in getting me what I needed
Very helpful staff. Highly recommend.
This location always has the friendliest, most helpful employees. They’re always knowledgable and shopping here is always a good time.
This is a woodworkers toy store. There are so many great things here and the staff is personable and helpful.
The staff there is very helpful and knowledgeable.
Great store!! Kevin was very helpful
Ive been here only a few times but every time the help, particularly the advice, has been tremendous. Clearly the people who work here are also wood working enthusiasts and have personal experience not just a brief amount of corporate product features and benefits training. Although I havent been to one there are several workshops a month. Overall I likely wont buy all my tools from here because Im pretty brand loyal but when possible I will support them as best I can.
Tom and Anne are a great help. Great sales. A Wood workers paradise.
Great place, attentive and helpful staff!
Good store knowledgeable people, friendly. Great service.
I love Rockler and I am so happy the Bolingbrook store is close by.I just received the latest coupon and flyer. The coupon gives 15 % off and the flyer gives discounts on tools. The letter with the coupon gives me 15% off over and over till June 1. The flyer also shows tools with money off. I am ready to get in the pickup and go.Oops there is small print. None of the sale items included in the same envelope qualify for the 15%. Oops Power tools dont qualify either. Then we cant combine with other offers.I think you could have saved you money sending out this one Im going to leave the pickup parked. Thanks anyway.A loyal customer. Rick
Ive been in here a few times shopping for Christmas. Every time the staff has been very knowledgeable and patient answering all of my questions. I called ahead tonight to see if they had a certain product in stock. They did not, but recommended one comparable and put it on hold for me. I was in and out in less than two minutes. As a retail manager myself, I can really appreciate their customer service.
This place is great... I’m like a Kid in a Candy store, and my eyes are as big as saucers. All questions from ANY of the people working there were quickly answered by consummate pros. Thanx guyz.
I have been to this store many times and always had a good experience. The Saturday morning demos are great. Like Woodcraft, they tend to focus on a few brands but they have satisfied 90% of my needs. If you want a wide variety of exotic wood you need to visit Owl Hardwood (the Des Plaines store is the mother ship) or some other specialty store. Rocker is a tool and woodworking supply store primarily. The staff there, including the manager Mark, are always extremely helpful. I needed a plunge router base for my Porter Cable 690 router and even though they don’t carry it they helped me find it on Amazon. I am setting up my workshop for my retirement hobby and have purchased a number of pieces of equipment there. They gave me good advice and I am very happy with my purchases.
This Rockler store had just what I was looking for. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain some things that I had questions about. The store was clean and easily accessible from the road. When in the area I’ll be back to shop again.
Called ahead to ask about a product I saw on their website. Was promptly informed they didnt stock the item. Purchased the item from a different store before going to Rockler only to find out they had 4 in stock. I ended up paying about $15 more but didnt have time to return to the first store. Their loss. Disappointed primarily due to the seemingly minimal amount of effort put into locating the item.
Very good customer service.
We go there for our wood turning needs. Knowledgeable staff, good deals.
Nice! We dont have one local to GRR. But it would be nice to have one closer than Chicago
Very knowledgeable staff that is ready to help you answer any questions.
Always have what I need in stock! Thanks to Kevin very friendly employee!
Wonderful selection, knowledgeable staff. The place to go for woodworking inspiration and materials.
Clean, helpful staff, good selection, especially of exotic woods. Pricey
I enjoyed shopping here. I bought a stain and had nice customer service
They tend to be far less knowledgable about their products and woodworking in general, compared to Woodcraft. If you must shop Rockler, I suggest the store in Schaumburg.
I tend to agree with the recent reviews and they dont have any real exotic woods and god are there prices high. Im going to woodcraft from now on. Unles i happen to be in Schaumburg
Most Excellent!
I bought a nova voyager drill press just before christmas. Set up was easy I put it through a few simple tests to find the drillchuck was causing a lot of vibration at speeds over 800 rpms, 0 with no chuck at all. It was spinning a 32nd out of true. Brought the chuck back to the store and proved my point. The in house machine had the same problem to different degrees. I was told you cant expect to get a good quality chuck with a high precision machine you need to buy one separately. He then gave me the name of the most expensive chucks on the market. Ive been back a few tmes to no avail. I need this machine in good running condition and Im not going to prematurely wearout the bearings with an out of balance chuck. Im not the complaining type but at over $1,600 with tax spinning bits true is the most important function of the machine.Bob Griffin
I needed some more pen supplies, I walked in grabbed what i needed and was out in 5 minutes. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
The store personnel KNOW what they are talking about!!
I purchased several turning blanks from this store while I was in town. Quality is always awesome and the employees know their stuff when asked questions..
I did not have a welcoming experience while at Rockler. The management staff was very rude. I could here them talking about customers within the store. The store was not kept up, the bathrooms were never clean. Rockler has lowered their standards with their store and employees.
Great wood place.
Friendly and well knowledgeable
Great guys, great staff
