After finding this facility to install two of my tires I purchased I thought when they were able to get me in and out in a timely fashion it was smooth sailing, but after a week of driving I heard a sound and felt vibration coming from the right side of my car, so I took it back to find out they forgot to secure my one tire to the lugs...even though they were able to fix the problem it was an inconvenience to drive to Bowie, Md from Columbia, Md. Technicians failed to do their job to avoid a major problem that could have occurred if it wasnt rectified in time. This is not a typo that can be edited. Will never use them again.
Very professional and courteous. Mr Chaney provided a large list of tires and costs without being prompted to do so, and Tina was very patient and articulate answering my questions. My experience was amazing and I will be recommending them to all my friends and family.
I was pleased with my experience. Staff was efficient, timely and helpful. I went in to have a tire plugged and it was easy. Would definitely go back if I needed too!
Good quoted price, brake job in and out the next day.
Edit/update: shop is said to have been experiencing phone issues. With the technology available today, land lines shouldnt be the only source of communication.I dropped my vehicle off for a tire rotation, tire balance and alignment this afternoon. I was told it would be done by the end of the day. I received no communication so I called the shop with no answer. Drive by the shop a few minutes after 5 and my vehicle I NEED for work is sitting outside and they are closed. I have used them before and received a call when work was finished. This is unacceptable!
Stopped by based on a referral. Glad I did. Great customer service! Appreciate servicing my vehicle as a last minute walk-in. Will definitely return for future service on my vehicles.
They were fast, convenient, affordable and located near alot of eateries
I took my car here for service and the receptionist was rude, kept cutting me off when I spoke, was very doubtful and pessimistic about EVERYTHING, and was stretched very thin. The staff seemed angry and did not greet customers and were not cordial at all. After spending over an hour there the mechanic left for lunch and the receptionist proceeded to give me false information about what my car needed. She told me that she did not have the time to give me a quote on the required work... I took my car and left ASAP. I will never take my car here again!
Wow, just wow. Excellent customer service in Bowie.
Wonderful, friendly folks who are willing to listen and never offer you more than you asked for unless it is serious. My family has gone there for years for tires and just about anything mechanical. This was my first time there and I will definitely be back next time. I would recommend them to anyone who asks for a recommendation.
Awesome team! Honest pricing and reliable service.
My new synthetic oil change spot, gave me an honest answer about a busted shock also.
I was able to get my oil changed without having an appointment.
One of the better places around to go for tire and car service. Stay away from Bowie Auto clinic near them across from Taco Bell. This place is MUCH better!!!
Great service and quality work at fair price
Great customer service!
I came in today and the team was awesome very polite and attentive. Nice doing busy with you guys no price surprises at all.
They did every good work
Convenient. Honest. Does good work.
This is the place to go for a quick tire patch! I called this morning and they encouraged me to stop in whenever I could today. I brought the car in, they patched the tire, put my spare back under the truck, and I was in and out in under an hour. It was all under $25. Staff are kind, mechanics knowledgeable, and bonus: the cutest dog hangs out in the waiting room with you!
Great service for Honda VTM system. Special kudos to one of the technicians (Johnny, I believe) who was incredibly knowledgable on Honda systems and was able to correct unsatisfactory service (4WD system maintenance) performed elsewhere. Great, communicative staff, and the dog in the waiting room is pretty cool too!
Great people. Great service
I had another excellent experience getting new tires and an alignment done here. Ordered tires on Wednesday and the tires were waiting for me on Friday. Nice waiting area and I only had to wait a couple of hours for all work to be completed. Everything went very smooth. Ill be back!
Always fair and honest... Great people
Great at patching tires, but couldnt properly align and balance after installing a new tire set. First, the alignment report was lost so I have no idea where things stood nor now stand. Second, I had to take the vehicle back because not all wheels were balanced. Now balanced, theyre done so poorly a bumpy ride over 45 mph is unavoidable. Going elsewhere to fix the problem. Paying double and waiting 3 times for the same task is worth the correction, but cannot waste any further resources on this issue with Chaney.Last note, their QA process is lacking. Doesnt seem to be any verification process outside a quick test drive around the parking lot.
No joke, they have you in and out.
Would give 0 stars if I could . Brought car in for a tire patch the technician went to take the spare off the car and stripped 2 lugs, now they want to charge me to fix it . He admitted that he stripped one but not the other . Now my car isnt driveable . DO NOT GO HERE they cant do simple tasks correctly, patched the tire, didnt even fill the tire up with air, and now they want me to come out of pocket almost $200 to fix their mistake .
Over the past few years Ive had different tire related issues repaired/replaced here even when this location was closed for a while 1 thing has remained consistent and that is Chaneys expertise, great service, & fair prices. I never have worried about being sold something I dont need. Thanks guys!
They have a nice website but poor customer service. They will keep your car for an extended period of time without a need to give you updates on the progress. If you call to check the status, the secretary will raise her voice to say the work is not done before allowing you to ask the question .
I came here for a walk-in oil change. Brought my own oil and filter (because Im particular) and they accommodated and only charged for labor. They have a nice shop dog too!
I went in for a Maryland inspection for my vehicle. I was failed for several things including an exterior light at the front of the vehicle. After having all the repairs done including replacing the bulb, I took my vehicle back in for a reinspection. At first they tell me I having had any of the work done, do I show them my receipt. Then the mechanic says I didnt get the bulb replaced. I ask him for clarity, which bulb he is referring to. He points to an orange area of my fog light housing and says the bulb behind here. I say there is no bulb behind there. He then gets very rude to me and tells me hes not going to pass my vehicle and walks away. Thinking I may be w wrong I leave and check the light housing to verify and sure enough, there is no bulb there. I return and ask someone else there to look and verify that all the lights are working and that there is no light bulb where the mechanic was talking about. He then goes and tells the mechanic and instead of an apology, he tells me he is printing out my approval paperwork now. While I was waiting for that I experienced more rude behavior from him.Update... Sent my info as they requested. No one reached out to me. They really do care!!! Not.
Good service.
They where extremely helpful in helping us get our car inspection done. Gave us advice on how to repair the car in order to pass inspection. Highly highly recommend there services.
I have been getting my cars serviced at this location for over 15 years. I just love the service that I receive along with the prices compared to the dealership. They treat their customers right...
Scheduled an appointment with this tire shop, took time off work and arrived early so I could get my tires done. They got to work on replacing my tires, once they finished, I paid and went home. When I got home... I took a walk around the car so I could admire my brand new tires... only to realize they had put the wrong tires on. These were not the tires I had ordered and confirmed via email. I even checked with a Michelin rep to confirm that there was indeed a difference between the model I ordered and the model that was put on... So I called the shop to inform them of the mishap and was met with a I dont have time for this tone. How nice. I get transferred to someone else and am told to drive back to the shop to confirm. After some chit chat, they finally realized I had the wrong tires on. So... they take my keys and put on another set of tires. They tell me theyre all finished, so I go back out and once again... wrong tires. Disappointing experience. My advice to everybody: Check your tires before you leave to ensure they put the ones you ordered on your vehicle.
Very friendly front office team. Even though they didnt have the tires we required, they helped us identify a local shop that had the tires by calling around.
They got over $2400 out of me in a period of 1 month and 3 visits with the promise I would br able to keep this vehicle running and have a way to work. After these visits in this month long period I bring the car in 1 last time and I recieved a call that it is no longer running as a result of the same thing I thought was wrong with it from the first visit. Im skeptical if any work was ever done and I feel robbed Ive been left off much worse as a result of coming here
I have been coming to this business for the past year to do my oil changes, today I had the worst experience ever, I was told my oil change would be done today as I waited one hour for them to tell me it’s not able to be done. I have never been treated so badly, their customer service is pitiful. People in this business are liars, racist, and have horrible people skills. I will never recommend this place again.
Great customer service!
Good work
My go to shop. The guys dont rip you off and service your vehicle quickly.
Very helpful. Could recognize a time-sensitive tire repair without our having to tell them, even when they were busy.
Staff is very friendly and service has been great!
I ran over a screw and had a leak in my tire. I went to Chaney Tire & Auto and they had the leak detected and patched literally ten minutes from the time I pulled into their parking lot. They were very helpful and accommodating.
Outstanding shop. Been using them for all my auto repair for the last couple of years. Every time is a great experience. They are thorough, fast & super friendly, and they always take time to answer any questions. You meet Allen Chaney once and it feels like hes an old friend.Last time I was in there to get my oil changed, Tina called me up to let me know there was a nail in a tire, and she reminded me I had gotten my tires there and I had hazard coverage. In other words, she went out of her way to look it up so I wouldnt have to pay anything for the repair. This kind of integrity and customer-first service is rare in my experience, and I wont be taking my cars anywhere else for the foreseeable future.Be sure to pet Dude the lovable shop dog - he appreciates having his neck scratched and being reminded that he is -- indeed -- a good boy!
Always fast service, fair prices
Very accomodating and friendly. Squeezed me in right before closing when my check engine light came on the night before a cross country drive. Highly recommend!
Good service, got in and out in less than an hour with no appointment
Did a great job
Excellent service. Never disappointed. Everything done right the first time.
Clean fast friendly service
The mechanic Christopher Speight fixed my car and he did a great job
I just had my car serviced at Chaney Tire & Auto in Bowie - great experience! The price was the lowest out of the quotes from the local vendors, and the service was professional and timely! I was in-and-out in 50 minutes for an oil change and tire rotation!
Very disappointing visit. I would never take my car there anymore. Took my car in for an alignment. What was supposed to be an hour turned into almost 6 hours. They broke an alignment bolt and said it was my responsibility. The tech was NOT familiar with the type of bolt that he broke, didn’t even know the name, nevertheless had to drive 90mins to get a new bolt and they still charged me $60 more than what was quoted to put in the new alignment bolt. When I began to object/ask why, the lady at the desk suddenly became very snappy. The tech seemed pleasant but I question the service I received, because the before and after readings in alignment sheet for the front right wheel don’t show that any adjustment was made. My advice for others: take you car elsewhere or you ll be sorry.
We take our ministry vehicle and personal car to Chaney . . . honest, courteous and fair priced!
Had a flat tire that couldnt be repaired so looked up a tire shop on google, saw Chaney had a shop in Bowie that was open so I gave them a call. Spoke to someone and was told to bring the car in. Got it towed to the shop to find that the Bowie location wasnt open. Moral of the story is to have an updated website.
2020 Update: so I must have really liked the dog as I had stars in my eyes when I wrote the last review. The main thing I would say is though the mechanics are decent this place is $$. Youre not necessarily getting a deal or even in some cases beating the dealership. Case in point - I was about to go to them to remove and install a new alternator in my 2010 Honda Fit. They quoted me around $250 for labor alone; I just bought the alternator up the street at the Autozone. The autozone guy overheard me and suggested I shop around and when I did I got quotes for ways less.If youre in Bowie id still recommend this place but shop around.****Backstory: went to a nearby Autozone and asked for recommendations for auto places nearby. I had an old mechanic in lanham but reaching his shop became too problematic so i started taking my cars to the Pep Boys in Laurel. Long story short i was looking for a auto shop in Bowie cause i wasnt about to take my cars to Darcars and get ripped off (Not to knock the dealership too hard, but thats what they do)The autozone recommended me to Chaney and i looked it up only to find that it was right in the back of the same plaza (Bowie Marketplace)! I drove my van around the back and was pleasantly surprised. I needed an oil xhange, fluids and tire rotation and the guy up front was able take my van right away. I was able to do some shopping in the while i waited and they were done in about an hour.Though the speed of service was great i was more impressed by the way i was treated by the shop. The guy up front was curteous and answered every question i had, and on top of that was able to tell me that i might want to look into getting an alignment. The reason i didnt look at this as a shop upsell was cause i just came off a long road trip and thought my car was wobbly, so it was good to have this confirmed. Pricing is upfront and to the point. The rest of the staff is friendly and personable. Has a family feel to it. They have several mechanics and at least 5 garages, so youll be serviced relatively quickly. One thing: the shop has a 80lb dog named Duke (boxer). I also have a boxer and that level of charm just won me over. For those wary around animals dont worry, Duke is sweet and harmless, but thought you should know.Im in the lobby waiting for my alignment done as i write this. You should definitely come here.
Took no time at all to be serviced. Excellent!
They are terrible, They had my car many times for emissions work. $800.00 and never would go through the MVA. THEY LEFT HOSES LOOSE, BROKE WIRES. The owner ask me not to come back, I was never happy with their work. I had a front end alignment, they broke the bolts, They showed me another bolt and bushing threplacing, I come to pick up my truck, they never replaced any of them. They told me you never told us to. They had the ordered the parts and I knew they ere there, but lied and said,oh that was not for your truck, and sent them back. Donthe take you cars there.
Great customer service! Will return..
Excellent service!
Good people & good service
Great store great prices great owner
Great service, adorable greeter at the door🐶
I felt incredibly uncomfortable there with the looks they were giving me. I got my tire plugged here and they put the tire on wrong. When I went to Chevy for my 30,000 mile check up, that’s when they told it was put on incorrectly.
Chaneys repairs are hit or miss... Im reminded of my last tune-up there everytime I hit the windshield washer button on my Windstar. To get to the distributor they had to remove the cowl vent cover right next to the windshield, and in the process they cut the windshield washer tube... No big deal, you say? The tube runs a serpentine route that takes hours to thread through, and patches never maintain enough pressure to even hit the windshield. Its only a big deal when youre in a snow storm or in heavy, wet dirty traffic and need to see the road. Anyway, Chaneys hosed the tune-up and I had to take the car back half dozen times to get them to resolve all the CHECK ENGINE lights they caused. Each time I went back they made me wait a little bit longer, it seemed... Couple of hours each time, at least... They never made it to repairing the washer line that they cut. Chaneys cordial front office cannot make up for poor practices in the garage.
So glad they are back great service.
Very nice and friendly
Do not go here. They over charge and take advantage with their labor cost.
Great place and honest!
Great job
