Situated beside a paint store in a plaza between FantaCity International Shopping Center and Ace Hardware, Master Tea is, like many of Greensboros hidden gems, easy to overlook. But if you are able to find a parking space in the smallish lot, you will be glad that you stopped by. Whether you have a bubble tea craving, are in search of an inexpensive meal, or just want a break from run-of-the-mill coffee shops, Master Tea has a lot to offer.As the name implies, beverages are the main attraction here, and Master Tea has plenty to choose from. You can opt for milk teas (with boba), fruit teas, hot teas, matchas, coffees, or smoothies. The food side of the menu is more limited but not without appeal. There are seven different types of banh mi sandwiches as well as a few entrees (vermicelli bowls and pho) and snacks that range from the expected (egg rolls and spring rolls) to the surprising (crispy quail and kimchi fries).For our first visit, my wife and I went with a taro milk tea and lemongrass banh mi and a Thai tea and a bulgogi banh mi, respectively. The teas were perhaps the best milk teas in town: smooth and refreshing without any graininess or unpleasantly artificial flavors. The sandwiches were good but not great. The sauces delivered the expected flavors and the meats were none too tough, but both banh mi were a bit small and may rankle sticklers for authenticity.Our food and drinks arrived relatively quickly, and our server was helpful and patient while we ordered. The pricing proved quite budget-friendly though not the outright steal that Banh Mi Saigon Bakery is. Sandwiches were $5 a piece while the teas were $3.75 for a regular (16 ounce) and $5.25 for a large (24 ounce).While Saigon Bakery may off both lower prices and more sandwiches to choose from Master Tea has a distinct advantage in the décor department. From a well-scribbled chalkboard wall to repurposed doors and shutters as ornaments to blue and yellow hues, Master Tea offers a bright and clean environment that is fun and relaxing without being ostentatious. The establishment is also deceptively spacious.Good service, tasty food, and affordable prices make Master Tea a worthwhile lunch/tea/snack option for all but the most steadfast purists. I cannot speak to the quality of the pho, snacks, or smoothies, but what I did taste has given me reason enough to come back.

This is a pretty good place to try something new, because boba tea is all about that. However, the prices are slightly high, and the ingredients arent kings material. I can only afford to try it every once in a while because if I bought from here every day, Id need to get a small loan, of a million dollars to be exact.

I got a Jasmine Green Tea with wintermelon flavor, coffee jelly, tapioca boba, regular milk, and no ice. Nice atmosphere, great boba tea, and the cashier was very friendly. Also helpful to know: they use square so they accept credit and debit. (I think they accept Apple Pay too)

Not the best honestly. Its not traditional Taiwanese boba tea at all or bubble tea. They limit how much additional bobas/popping bobas because they said there is a boba shortage. They dont do slushy fruit style boba either its straight up green or black tea and I think maybe they might do brown sugar milk tea? Not sure... But I wouldnt come back here. The gentleman that works here was super nice though!!

I am obsessed with this place! They have the best iced chai I have ever had! I don’t drink coffee and i will get a chai whenever I see a place has them and none compare to the one they have here, at Master Tea 🍵It’s hard to not come everyday. The price for the size is very reasonable too. The only thing that I’m confused on is the whole points process and what you get with them. But I’ll just have to have someone clarify the next time I am in, which will definitely be soon!

Stopped by here today, April 2 around 4pm from Boulder to get my favorite Brown Sugar Boba but so disappointed that the girl who prepared it wasn’t good enough to know the measurements of ingredients in guess? because mine tasted like nothing, no sweetness just nothing like my favorite Brown Sugar Boba. I am disappointed. Please make sure to train your newly hired so your customers will get a consistent and quality product you were selling. I’m one of your avid customers but today, I am not happy with a Brown Sugar tasted like nothing.

Love the Boba here! Apparently its been here over a year, but its new to me. My new favorite place outside of Boulder Kucha house of tea.

It was okay. It wasnt bad but it wasnt great. I got the mango it didnt have much flavor, and the boba was meh. Service was good though.

Ive been a customer at Master Tea for a while. Every day I come in and have always been delighted with exceptional service! The guy with the black hair working the register is always helpful and patient with my orders. The store is always kept clean. My orders are taken care of with haste. By far the best drink establishment around!

This is one of the best Thai Teas I have had! Even with the cream, you still get a wonderful tea flavor. Their teas are all high-quality loose-leaf teas. The service is always friendly and quick. Not much in terms of atmosphere but delightful none-the-less. Highly recommend!

Great atmosphere. The employees were really friendly and made my drink in a timely fashion without delay. The tea tasted amazing. As per their recommendation I ordered the mango tea with strawberry boba. I was not disappointed at all with the service, prices, or quality!

I come here super frequently and I love it. The tea is great, the staff is usually very friendly. Especially the white guy with blonde hair that wears it in a pony tail. He’s super sweet and really cute too. Wish I knew his name ;)

Went with my wife and daughter and had a great experience. In addition to great experience the teas were great tasting and had a good variety to choose from. We plan on going back, and if the good experience keeps up, Master Tea will have new regular customers!!!

Come here when ever we can!! The tea is great! Wish one was closer to my home we drive about 25 min to get one and they are so much better than any starbucks.

Ive been pretty disappointed the last few times Ive been here, pre-covid they were always out of boba (which makes no sense, since they are a BOBA place), and recently I went and the server forgot to put flavoring in both mine and my partners drinks. The first time I went (a year ago) it was a great place, now I feel that the quality of service has steadily declined since then.

Yummy yummy milk tea! Not as sweet (yay) as I’ve had elsewhere, but delicious. I asked for extra boba, but the guy didn’t even care- he gave me less than usual. Fast tho! Very very fast. It isn’t as creamy or sweet as my favorite place but it’s hands down second best!!

We love Master Tea because it is actual tea with boba, not sugar water with boba like most boba tea that you can find. Its delicious and quick, and the quality is unmatched.

I personally love this place, never had milk green tea before but actually liked it👍. The number one reason though is its ... Peaceful... The music that is played is soothing modern day Chinese music or Vietnamese. The staff is very kind and considerate.

My daughter and I absolutely love this place. Best place to get boba. Love their master tea 🙌🏻. Only thing is about 1/3rd of the time they are out of boba. We drive about 20 minutes to get there, it is so disappointing. If you are the owner and are reading this please make sure you have boba! I know I’m not the only one that is annoyed when you are out.

I think Master Tea has the best Thai Tea Boba in the area, but the flavor can be inconsistent depending on who serves you the drink. Some days I hate it, some days I think its amazing. It very random at times.

I’ve had good experiences here before but whoever the new hired girl is clearly has not been trained; I ordered what I usually get and she acted like I didn’t know what I was talking about and kept trying to correct me. Ended up making me the most basic boba drink.

We visit Master Tea often and the service is usually great. Tonight was a different story...young man with curly hair... Extremely rude while taking our order, sighing as if we and the customer behind us was an inconvenience to him, so the customer behind us left. When we received our ordered we were missing a drink and the young man stated we had only ordered the drinks he made, in actuality he did not hear the entire order, because he was to busy messing around with his phone and readjusting his belt. Very disappointed this time around. We are very regular customers of both Master Tea locations. We will not return when we see this young man working.

Wanted to try their tea cause I live nearby. Just gross and very bland. They use the same base for both master tea and green tea. Too much milk in the drink, I could hardly taste the tea. Had to throw away the drink after few sips. Not worth it. Id go to Kung Fu tea in Boulder anyday over this place.

Yum! I found a good boba place near my house! They dont have a lot of the fun flavors other boba shops have, but the flavors they do have are delicious! I havent tried their flavored milks, (I stay away from dairy...) but the lavender is so tempting!!

Really delicate teas that arent overly sweet go great with the great boba ad-ins. Ive tried the green, black, and lavender milk teas and all have been tasty. The lavender was a more powerful flavor.

Training of politeness to customee should be better. When customer take a second draw, that should not be the big problem for the sales guy to talk bad behind them. Even if this is the last biba shop them no recommendation that customer go there again.

Excellent boba tea but have been out several times so I had to get something else.

So I came across this place at the beginning of 2019. I just recently got back into boba, but I have to say....... the is some of the BEST authentic tea I have ever had!!!! The boba is the best I have ever had in my life! I live about 35 min away from Master Tea and I still drive alll the way just to get a boba tea!! The servers are all sweet and helpful, I don’t know all of them personally but I remember their faces and ALL of them are amazing. I recommend the strawberry black tea with boba or mango black tea with boba. I honestly haven’t tried the milk boba smoothies, I only get black tea. Their prices are fair, but even if a cup was 25 bucks I’d still buy it!!! PLEASEEE try them out I’m even considering moving closer.... that’s how amazing this tea place is! You rock Master Tea!

I love Boba and was excited to find a place near me. When I got there I was ignored for the first 4-5 minutes. When I got the attention of the cashier, who was on his phone... he looked like i punched his dog when i ordered regular boba. He rolled his eyes and said in an irritated tone we dont have any boba when I asked what they had he scoffed at me and said only popping boba. After trying to order three flavors which they didnt have, I waited another 10 minutes and got handed two tiny drinks That I paid 20$ for total. Absolutely never going back again. Unprofessional. Dirty. Extremely overpriced and rude. Advise... go in to the store attached, buy your own boba. Make your own boba. Avoid angry teens and save a fortune.
