Wild Oats has a great selection of high quality deli food. Their soups are delicious and their breads are fresh baked. They sell out quickly. I find the baked goods very rich and filling. The layout inside the store is a little chaotic at peak meal times. At other times, it is spacious and laid out well. The staff is always very nice and friendly. I have had to have their help on numerous occasions and I found them to be very pleasant. Wild Oats is expensive, but the higher pricing is reflective of the higher quality. You can find a large selection of gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan food here; there is something for everyone. I would recommend Wild Oats for those who are willing to pay a little extra for the quality.
What a wonderful place! A huge selection of fresh made soups. I had the chicken and vegetable which was delicious. Lots of fresh breads, scones, pastries. And then sandwiches you order freshly made for you. I had the turkey and cranberry salad with lots of fresh spinach tomatoes and carrots on honey oat bread. Highly recommend. I would order that again
Been going to Wild Oats every summer for 17 years. They do some things great but the sandwiches have been off this summer…today I ordered the Turkey BLT, got home and found out they gave me a lettuce sandwich with one layer of turkey and some sad pieces of bacon. Not sure I can justify getting a cold sandwich from them for lunch again, too bad because everything else they do is so good.
I love this place! Great soups, great sandwich selection and amazing bread. If you want a good selection of the breads however youll need to get there before 10:30a.m. because by 11:30 theyre usually completely played out. Also the prices are little steep but other than that a really great resource for the community.
Friendly staff, happy to help customers. Very family friendly and many choices for a healthy lifestyle. Unique beverages and cuisine. Wild Oats gives you a college cafeteria type experience. Somewhat pricey but typical for the area.
Still no indoor dining! Froze today windy and cool. Owner could open indoor dining. 20 tables spaced out in large indoor space would be possible. 14 dollars for fresh but otherwise nothing special salad. This used to be one of my favorite lunch spots.
Cafeteria style stations of pies, made to order, coffee and cupcakes, breads, soups, and sweets. They literally have one of everything here and it all looks delicious. Go in and pick what you would like from the various stations and grab your silverware, pay, then have a seat. I really enjoyed the maple sausage and apple quiche. The mint chocolate cupcake may be the best cupcake I’ve ever had. We want to go back for the soup bar. All of them smell amazing.
Went in to check it out! Was highly impressed of all the fresh foods avaliable. The deserts are phenomenal. Highly recomend! Plan on trying there fresh daily soups and sandwiches in upcoming weeks!
Moved out of downtown, only on the old base now so way out of the way. Called to place a sandwich order ahead since you have to drive 10 minutes over there now, guy says they dont take phone orders and to order online. Go online, it says you can only order online for things 3+ days in advance/no to go orders and to call for any orders with less than 72 hours notice...Are they just actively trying to not have customers anymore?
There are a lot of positives to mention starting with the delicious food! Also, the new location is nicely laid out, clean and spacious. However, it has to be said that the prices are extremely high and tips at check-out are aggressively sought. The electronic credit card processing device blatantly asks the customer to add a 10%, 15%, or a custom tip. There is an option for No Tip but the staff react badly if this is selected. Are they depending on tips to make a living wage? Thats not right. Because this is a take-out site and there is no table service, leaving a tip does not seem necessary (especially on top of the already high prices). Unfortunately, this aspect of the experience reduced our enjoyment of the tasty sandwiches.
The restaurant is now located on admiral. New location and new spaces. We had really high expectations because the outside seating was large and well spaced. The building looked fantastic, bigger and more impressive. The blue color really made the place stand out. Wild Oats has never been a low cost experience but in the new location we had high expectations. We figured lower operating costs or own location and out from the hidden old corner with limited parking in the middle of town. Are you used to premium products and premium pricing? Do you buy Apple Products because they work and the packaging makes you feel like you bought a premium product? Well, Wild Oats has the premium pricing figured out. We ordered two quiches. I was expecting a deep dish quiche and a generous helping but what we got was more like a quiche pancake probably about 4oz in weight. It was tasty and flavorful. We also ordered the Tso cauliflower it was limp and floury tasting mostly sauce not so much cauliflower. It felt old —not fresh. The final insult was that we paid $9 for a cream puff and it was put in the bag chocolate frosting side down so the chocolate was stuck to the bag when we opened it. All in all for two quiches 2 coffees small cauliflower and 1 cream puff we paid $49. I never mention what I pay at a restaurant usually because I feel if you can’t afford it don’t go. However, I think it is important for folks to know there is no alignment between quality and quantity of food and it’s presentation, packaging, and customer service. The coffee wasn’t any better than Dunkin Donuts and for the cream puff I could have bought a dozen eclair at Dunkin Donuts and they don’t serve them chocolate side down. To be honest the chocolate quality between the two restaurants is incomparable, Wild Oats chocolate is much better but who would eat a dozen eclair. The packaging was sad and new way of shopping and waiting to pay while your warm food sits at a window beyond the cash registers just misses the mark. Our hot quiches were cold by the time we got to them. If this were an operating system I would say it was a downgrade. Avoid WildOats unless you just want to make a statement and drop some cash. Much better places in town for eats.
Great find! Wish we had one at home in Maryland! Great food : sandwiches, baked goods, drinks—something for everyone!— and really nice people. Definitely a cool place for out of towners. Go!
Everything we tried was very tasty: scones, coffee cake, scuffin, and coffee. Outdoor seating was a bit chilly (in October), but there was plenty of it.
I work next door and like to come in for a snack from time to time and occasionally if I forgot my lunch, this place is a good backup. Problem is the price. They really need to get that under control. Everything seems to be 20-30% more than what you would expect at any other natural food store.I dont know how they managed to not make the layout better with this new location. Its like they enjoy torturing people over the age of 70. Seniors are always so confused and lost when I go over there. All this additional sq ft and they still dont know how to create a good layout.Lastly, please add something that is a clean low carb and high protein snack. I just came over for something quick and realized that your snacks are all very unhealthy. So much sugar and carbs in every option. I found a snack mix and it was covered in cheddar powder. This place has the appeal of healthy but I dont see it. Its just overpriced and not very well thought out.
Some friends and I stopped by on our way back from Mt. katahdin. We had lunch here and it was very good. I ordered a quart of fennel pasta (originally for the giggles) but I loved it. I wasnt sure what fennel was but now I do and Im a fan. Also had a delicious Maine Maple latter with oat milk. I usually go for whole milk but I thought Id try it with oat since its in their name. Made the right call. Will stop by if Im in the area again.
Beautiful new space. Same great food and service. Always a pleasure to go there.
Great Sandwich!Went outside to eat and there was no way to get sit out of the blazing hot sun! There are a few tables under the trees next to the fence but these were all taken. The nice air-conditioned indoor room had no chairs and tables and signs asking customers not to eat inside.Look into SunSails and umbrellas for the patio! All is well! We see the sun sails you have installed--they are festive and solve the problem!
Delicious food. Such a fun environment. Im vegan and gluten free and had many options. Highly recommend for any diet.
As a tourist, I was pretty disappointed and dont see the hype. The two stars are for the vegan muffin which was the only good thing in my whole experience... I waited really long for an incorrectly made $8 breakfast sandwich that was missing meat. Asked for extra bacon on the side and was charged for two sides. Orange chocolate sconce i got didnt taste orange at all but instead like a dried up stale old biscuit. All the candy and snacks very VERY overpriced... The whole cafeteria style experience doesnt feel like a $$ - you would think for $$ you could get something better than a gray highschool lunch tray, and having to service yourself, clean up after yourself, etc. Inside really messy. Out of paper towels in the bathroom too. Just mediocre at best
We are not from the area but have been to Wild Oats a couple of times and loved it! We decided to stop by for takeout late this afternoon while we were in town. I looked them up online at 4:15 pm and noticed they close at 4:30 my wife said give them a call so I did! When the person answered the phone I ask if was too late to order a couple of sandwiches and they responded absolutely not! I ordered and headed to their location in the snow only to find they had moved. Not knowing were they moved to I called and said that I was going to be late and where can I find you? The employee was great no problem I will wait for you, we are on the old base. I cant say enough about the people and the new place! It was all amazing, the customer service, the understanding, and the food was all great! To the owner and the staff you make the difference! We will be back in the area later this week and you will be our first stop! Thank you!!!
Great food made there. Its a bit pricey for everyday.
I stopped in for a coffee just to check it out and was shocked at how much they have to offer and how many allergy/dietary) friendly options the have (GLUTEN FREE)!Honestly, I was not expecting much for gluten free after talking with staff on the phone but they had a WIDE VARIETY of gluten free baked goods. When I say huge I mean the entire top row of their baked goods display cases where full of gluten free cakes, bars/squares, brownies and other goodies! Cookies have there own display case where AGAIN the top row of the case is all GLUTEN FREE.They also have savory items, both fresh made and frozen. For fresh they have grilled wraps that you customize and labeled soups and chili’s. For frozen there where so many items I was over whelmed and can’t remember them all. All I can say is You will have to go check them out to see for yourself 😉The staff is very friendly and ready to help and answer any questions you may have.
They ran out of bread 90 minutes before close. So I cant say if the food was good or not. They offered me a wrap, but I craved a paniniIts ok, but a better experience would be maybe offer a dollar off coupon for next time, or something like that. Especially with the prices being so highBut I left with a 3 dollar can of soda
8/2/2021 Updated for the new location. I thought it might be risky for Wild Oats to move from the heart of downtown to a larger spot near the Brunswick Airport but it seems that it was a great move for them. If anything they are able to accomodate more customers faster than before. Theres lots of space in the new location and they have worked hard to make it possible to find what you want and get through the checkout line. They have an online order site that can further minimize contact. At lunch time the checkout line can get long and social distancing is not possible. At least for now Id wear a mask at the busier times of the day. The food is excellent and my wife and I shared a BLT that was the best.Stopped for a great cinnamon roll and coffee. This is a true local place with terrific, reasonably priced food. Ive included several pictures from the cases. Everything looks good.
I visited Wild Oats for the first time today and would like to state two things:1. It was by far the most outstanding customer service I’ve experienced ever. The staff was so so genuine and friendly.2. The food is beyond delicious and fresh. My partner and I tried several different types of foods and each one of them tasted like it was freshly made and made with quality ingredients. You are paying for them to make the food the way it was meant to be made and presented. Wonderful. It is also important to point out that these folks are 100% with Covid guidelines. The entire place was spotless.
Why cant there be 10 stars...The freshest food, most courteous staff I have encountered. Wild Oats has everything you need for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So worth the trip to the old naval base in Brunswick. Plenty of places to hang outside or just simply tailgate. Once seating is back, the crowds will double. The sandwich selection is out of this world. Dont pass thru...get off the exit and make it a point to stop by.
The new store is still not fully fleshed out, no indoor dining yet, but the food selection is better than in the old shop and the quality is just as good. Outdoor dining on the patio for lunch with friends was just great thanks to fine weather. Try it!
Delicious soups, sandwiches, and baked goods. Lots of frozen items to take home to enjoy, as well. The new space is large and has a lovely outdoor patio dining area for enjoying good food and good weather.
After non stop fried haddock and lobster rolls, this place makes you enjoy eating healthy again. We stopped twice, once on the way up and then on the way back from Acadia and it was one of our favorite stops. The sandwiches, soup, museli, chia seed pudding was all so good, and made better sitting on the beach at Reid state park
We had the gluten-free coffee cake and a carrot cupcake. Really good. They only have outside seating right now.
Great food. Difficult to navigate your first few times. Food was great. Expensive but worth a treat.
Food was excellent, great layout inside with stations for pastries/coffee/tea, soups & Chilli, snacks, and sandwiches. Currently just outdoor seating but well worth it.
Same good food but the location suffers. Its become suburban. Please open an outlet on Maine St.
This is my favorite bakery, hands down! There are so many options and I have never been disappointed; everything is delicious and made from scratch. The coffee is excellent as well.
Had the turkey bacon sandwich on wheat and a coffee. Sandwich was absolutely delicious as always. Decided to try a carrat cake cupcake for dessert. Now I know what heaven tastes like. Always a delight to dine here
First time today at lunch.Very disappointed in my roasted Turkey sandwich. Wild Oats; two slices of bread, one slice of Turkey some shredded carrots, two slices of tomato and one slice of cheese does not a $10.00 sandwich make. The place was so full of confusion though the staff was helpful.Only one bathroom was open for an 6000 Sq ft business.Wild Oats, whoever you paid to design the floor plan knows nothing about comfortable and natural movement and efficiency in food service.Wild Oats was like eating in a factory full of metal and concrete, nutrition is also about a healthy environment to digest in.Thank youMichael PerkinsOh and btw I gave Wild Oats one star seems they felt like changing it to four!
Many vegan and gluten free options, definitely need to revisit. The vegan brownies were amazing!
Wild Oats is by far my favorite place to grab breakfast or lunch. I think the prices are reasonable when you compare to other places in the area, a breakfast sandwich at a gas station is going to run you 4-5 bucks and the quality is not even close. Plus as an added bonus, I am so full from their biscuit I usually can skip lunch. The same goes for lunch, except that I easily get two meals out of a sandwich, thats how big they are.Their cold brew coffee is amazing and always snaps me out of whatever morning (or afternoon) funk I am in.The food is one thing, but the staff and management here are always so incredibly pleasant and helpful. I am always in a better mood when I leave.Once the dining room is open I think it will feel even more like the old Wild Oats, where you run in to a bunch of people you havent seen in a while and pull a chair up to chat over coffee.Overall, I highly recommend swinging by and grabbing a bite, you wont be disappointed.
Delicious, huge breakfast biscuit sandwich.Fabulous baked good. Fresh coffee.
Their Cupcakes are to die for! And their Breakfast Sandwiches are delish! I love their new location its a beautiful set up!!! I also love the take home pre-made up meals they are yummy quick and easy!
First of all, I want to say that my husband and I were thrilled that you had moved to your new location and didnt go out of business!! We drove up to the old Navy base today and loved your new facility, it is beautiful and very spacious. The food all looked delicious and every employee was very nice. However, we are giving you one star because we were told it would be a 20 minute wait for a chicken salad sandwich but then it took more than 45 minutes! We were extremely frustrated, it seems you have way too few people processing both online and store orders. The crowd waiting for their orders was ridiculous, everyone was too close for covid safety..........my husband wished he had just ordered the chicken salad and then asked for a few pieces of bread!! By the way, no complaints about the food, everything was very good.
As a tourist visiting one rainy morning, it was disappointing having no place to sit and eat our food. The outdoor seating was wet. By the time we got back to our hotel room the coffee and paninis were lukewarm. Such a shame. We had been looking forward to their reopening. We normally love their food and returned every visit to Brunswick before Covid.
Very cool farmers market feel, confusing flow for first timers, but the food was very good.
Great food from sandwiches as well as a great range of deserts. Best place around to buy birthday cakes.
Truly excellent food, usually at a snails pace. Order ahead for best results.
Such a joy to have the opportunity to visit for great tasting coffee and wonderful pastry delights. (All of the menu items are just as exceptional). The staff is always sincerely friendly and it always feels like Im coming home when I walk in. All the best, may God bless.
My incorrectly placed order for a sandwich was quickly and pleasantly remedied at no charge. Clean, industrial-chic interior and clear COVID guidance, along with fair pricing and superlative food (both eat-on-the-patio and take-home-for-dinner) make the extra miles from downtown worth the trip.
My favorite, one-stop shop for all things healthy (deli, soups, salads, and sandwiches) and not-so healthy but intensely delicious (cookies, cakes, and pastries). You cant go wrong for breakfast, lunch or treating a friend at home. Now on the other side of Brunswick, they have brought healthy choices to the Cooks Corner area.
A bit pricey but they’re cookies and food are truly exceptional. 4 stars due to the very long wait for a sandwich even when looking in the back kitchen there’s always 8-12 people back there chatting and hanging out.
Big yummy turkey sandwich with turkey chili. Nice seating outside.
Ive never had a pleasant experience here. The food is decent at its best. I also do not like what I hear about how they treat their employees or U.S. veterans.
Wild Oats is a staple of fresh, delicious food in a central location with parking and a quiet, comfy vibe that really starts to bustle around lunchtime, when literally everyone in town pops by for fantastic soups, fresh sammies and wraps, and great pastries and cookies. The paninis rock as well. Favorite soup: Moroccan tomato. The Wild Oats club sandwich is a great choice too.
Excellent selection and friendly staff.
The new location is great with a very large selection of items.
This gorgeous facility on the Brunswick Landing (the former NASB Brunswick,) makes the entire neighborhood smell delicious when theyre baking! Quite the store!
The serving size is perfect. theres a good variety of soup, sandwiches, coffee, hot chocolate, and treats. The lokashin is amazing.
Having moved from downtown Brunswick to their new, modern and beautiful new facility at Brunswick Landing (the old navel base), Wild Oats hang lost its touch for great food. The building is super inviting, and very covid conscious. Because of the space they now have they also have tremendous varieties and a great takeout option a pre-made foods for you to bring home in warm up on your own. Whether youre looking for a breakfast sandwich, a sandwich for lunch or meal at dinner you can find it all here at Wild Oats.
Wild Oats is by far my favorite place to visit in the Midcoast. Their coffees are always amazing, the service is super friendly and all their offerings are delicious. I highly recommend trying a cloud cookie next time youre in. Theyre SO GOOD.
Carrot cake was moist and delicious. Highly recommended
Excellent food & sandwiches.
This place has decent food but the layout of the facility is a Lovecraftian nightmare. The whole process of figuring out where to go, in what direction, and in what order was incredibly stressful. Prices were astonishingly high for the amount of food.
Great food. A little pricey compared to other similar places but food is very good.
I am giving this three stars as I always enjoyed going to Wild Oats over the years. Their food is delicious and the people were always nice. But after they moved to their new location, I was informed (after being on hold for almost 15 minutes) they would not do curbside, even for a cancer patient who isnt able to go into public buildings due to COVID concerns. I am saddened and stunned by this new development, and it is a far cry from the friendly, helpful service at the original place. This is becoming more common lately, and for people like me, it takes away yet another of lifes few joys left. And Im sorry doesnt cut it. 😥
Came here this morning with family while exploring Downtown Brunswick. I had the Spinach Feta quiche and a cup of coffee. It was DELICIOUS! If you use one of their mugs, you get free refills. Its inside but has outdoor seating for days when its beautiful outside. Highly recommend this place for breakfast, lunch, soups and salads.
Always a delicious choice for soup or sandwiches and desserts! They have a large variety of freshly made sandwiches and salads ready to grab & go if you dont want to wait in line and have one custom made. Its not inexpensive but their ingredients are extremely fresh and usually locally-sourced so its worth the extra money.Their cakes and other sweets are exceptional and you can order ahead for for takeout or even catering.Im never disappointed when I go there for lunch!
This place is the best. For everything.
The new location was fantastic. The sandwich I got was huge and I ate the whole thing. My shame was my own. I shouldve shared it.
This is a great stop for everything from cupcakes & brownies to premade lunches, cakes and hot soups. Everything is open and the staff was very friendly. The new location is nice, with a lot more parking.
Always friendly and professional service, now with outdoor seating.
Great for sandwiches and treats.
I am huge fan of Wild Oats. My inlaws live in Bath and Ive always looked forward to visiting them in the summer, when we lived in CA. We always had multiple trips throughout the week. I really enjoy their Buffalo chicken salad and probably look forward to it the most. This winter we moved to NY which meant frequent visits to Maine but that was derailed with everything going on. We were able to make it up here and my first priority was to get one of my favorite sandwiches, buffalo chicken salad.Sadly, with recent events, they have had to limit their menu. Totally understandable! So on the off chance they had the ingredients I emailed them and asked if it would be possible. They kindly responded the next day saying they would make a small batch and add it to the online menu. I immediately placed my pickup order for a couple pounds. As per usual, it lived up to my memories. Not only do they have great food, by they have some of kindness staff Ive ever interacted with. I hope I can squeeze a quick stop in before I head home for some of their other amazing items. And I look forward to the many visits over the next few summers.
Arrived at 2pm on Sunday and the place was decimated. Got the last sandwich as they were out of bread. Expensive. Waited almost 15 minutes for a panini that was not crisp. Whoopie pie filling was too sweet. Good coffee. Overall disappointed.
Good coffee and baking goods 👍. Worthwhile the visit
If you love salads, deserts fresh soup and great bread/ sumptuous breakfast muffins...Wild Oats will please your pallett. The beet salad is tangy and crisp. The carrot cake cupcake with icing is one of my favorites. Their cookies are just as enticing. There is something for everyone and their new location is airy, large and easy to shop in...Bon appetit!
If you want some feel-good food, this is the place!!
Bon pet it, thats what I say. Come here for all your hunger pangs and savory cravings. Best desserts around.
Lots of vegan selections served cafeteria style.
Nice, clean, lots of choices of sweets and drinks. Delicious Muffins
A bit pricey but have to admit my sandwich was excellent.
New place is great. So much room. Light and airy.
After so many wonderful reviews, I was really looking forward our take-out lunch. However, I was disappointed that the sandwich was tightly wrapped in plastic with nothing to make it look or taste like anything other than a deli sandwich from the corner store; very disappointing. Also, the hot burrito was short on filling, mostly folded tortilla. Im sorry to write a critical review during these difficult times.
Good soup.
The new location is fantastic and very much worth the extra bit of travel.
Good food, rather pricey, weird layout of store
This place is excellent for someone who has no idea what they want to eat. They have like a zillion soups out to pick from, which are all excellent. The sandwiches are great and made quickly. This is a regular spot for my wife and I because we like to eat very different things and this place has something for everyone.
Online ordering during this pandemic only. Plenty of staff and quick process happens even when theres a water main break they handled it gracefully. Id speak of the food but feel I could never do it justice. If you were looking for a place to get food and you came across their place youre probably already drooling so enjoy. The wait aint long.
Amazing food and people
Food is awesome customer service is amazing i am a long time customer 20 plus years.I am posting one star is to gain attention to their curbside pickup website that doesnt work on all mobile devices (it doesnt work on my Samsung galaxy s10). Its 2020 technology is cheap please fix your website so i can keep buying your food.
I love this place! Every time my family goes there we are impressed by the friendly staff, the cleanliness of the cafe and the way that everything is cooked perfectly! The owners are real nice too! I would recommend this place if you need breakfast or lunch! This is a popular place that many people know about. They try to make everything from scratch and try to make the place comfy. If you ask a local than they would recommend this place to you.
