Ive been going to this beauty supply store for over 10yrs and still love coming here. I like the people that works there and there is a lady thats been there just as long as Ive been going there and she is so knowledgeable about the hair care products they sale plus shes cool.

Lost 18 year customer over defective $2 rubber bands that kept breaking with little resistance. No customer service what so ever. Nina, the manager had nothing to say about making the purchase right. She kept saying she can’t resell them. I told her she needs to send them back to the manufacture, not resell them. Too many beauty supply stores around to be treated like this. Good bye from a long standing customer who spends $$.

What are very very nice place to shop and also extremely friendly mucho variety of stuff with the really good deals place is packed with all sorts of variety in goodness I give it an A plus wife gives it a plus and my baby boy even gives in an A+ very clean in original also I told a few people about Jesus Christ and they didnt snarl at me or mock me or laugh at me or hate me they received the Holy Spirit gospel in Jesus name please speak love and all their lives amen

Been going here for the last 3 years. Always has what I need. I hate crowds so since this one is small and low key you usually don’t run into them. 💓 a hidden gem.

This store is not a large store, like some beauty supply stores. There is stuff everywhere but its organized. They had what I wanted. I would recommend it.

Had a very nice lady help me, She answered all my questions about this closure. I was not familiar with closures and I needed help understanding those vs a frontal. She was kind, she was understanding and very approachable. She even held my items while I Ran to the local chase and take some cash out. It was the last item and she held it for me. I forgot to get her name but she was a sweet lady. I would shop here againGood prices too

Old skool neighborhood favorite.

Clean and orderly. Lots of brands. The staff is friendly and courteous. The staff wear masks and they offer hand sanitizer. This is a large store and social distancing wont be a problem. I would recommend this business to my friends and family.

Nina and her staff on March 17, 2019 was outstanding. This morning went to Beauty Hair Wig and was dismissed three times by my question. Fourth young lady informed me the hair needed to be order through Amazon.Drove to Mid-K Beauty immediately was escorted to were the hair was located. I informed Nina of my experience and will always purchase my items from her. Her staff always professional and friendly. Job well done!!!

Theyre pretty good!! Only problem is I try and find this particular hair and it NEVER have my color which is a normal color... 1b or 2... the rest of the brands have all colors except this brand... I forgot the name though...

I was in and out quickly also i was assisted right away. The black woman who assisted me helped me out. However, Im looking for the certain product and i noticed that she stared at me the whole time . I wasnt even comfortable shopping. The owners was nice though and WASNT staring me down like their work was doing as if i was trying to steal or something.

Pretty big selection of products to choose and buy from hair, makeup, clothing, skincare, and other beauty paraphernalia. All affordable as well. Its a pretty fast service too. Some of the products are kind of cheap and can break or rip easily (combs, scarves) so thats why I rated it 4 stars. Their wigs look pretty as well if you need a place to find a new hairstyle.

So I been going to this beauty supply since middle school 1998/1999. I have moved away from the area to the west coast, cant find some intricate unique items like beads or body shapers or hair products. I then moved to the east coast and still have the same issue. Everytime I come back to my hometown Mid-K is a must stop place to go because of the unique items you cant get in other parts of the country. If they dont have it, they will order it for you! I would have never know that until I left. Authentic south side/Chicago style and convince can be found here (and other shops too) but no where else in the country. They dont disappoint. Staff (not owners) over the decades have changed but their supplier clearly has not 😂.

If youre look for place that has great prices and customer service this is the place for you.There are several beauty supply stores in my area at I pass at least two to go to this one. Nina is always pleasant and very professional. I appreciate this the most the knowledge she shares about the 1000s of products offered has helped me to not make unnecessary purchases.

We go there all the time but today our saleswomen, Michelle, was OUTSTANDING!! She was extremely attentive, helpful, courteous, efficient and friendly. Great atmosphere, clean store, good music. A Must Stop Shop. They offer a wide range of items.

Been going to Mid-K for a long time. I can always find what Im looking for when I stop there. The prices are very reasonable as well. Oftentimes cheaper than some of the other beauty suppliers in the area.

We have gone to this beauty supply since I was a teenager. it has stood resilient to the market impacted economy. the staff is familiar and always friendly. non black owned business, however you never get the impression of feeling watched or under micro observation while your shopping there. i will continue to shop here.

The shop was a nice size. Had a variety of hair selections and colors. Loved the customer service. I will be revisiting when I am back in town.

I remember when the teacher store was still next to this place. And the lovely fair skinned lady with the glasses has known me since a toddler. I’m 21 now. They’ve had new employees like myself, but they represented the comp. well. THEY NEED MORE/NEW WIG OPTIONS THOUGH. I hope they continue to thrive through tough times. They always have what I need, plus other things that most stores don’t carry.

I love this store. It is my favorite beauty supply store in Calumet City. Thestaff is always friendly and helpful and they sometimes give out free hair care products. I really love this store because no one is walking around watching you as if you are a criminal that has always been a major plus for me.

I came in mid-k one day and Malaysia helped me with everything I need. She was very nice too and made sure I got the best of everything I need. The other workers are rude!!!

DONT SHOP HERE. The male owner of Mid-Ks is nasty and rude to Black women. He almost hit my car today as I was going to patronize the business. He started yelling at me and calling me ignorant. I went into the store to report his actions to Nina, a great and long time worker there. By the time she came out he had called the police on me. Thanks to the guys at Razorsharp Barbershop Club, Three of guys came down when they saw him harassing me. If it was for them, he would have still be yelling insults. He calmed down when they told him to leave me alone. Once the police came he lied to them until the police told him that he was at fault and was driving too fast. The police told him to apologize to me, which he felt he shouldnt have to.If we keep spending our money and patronizing businesses that insult us, disrespect us, then they will keep doing it.DONT SHOP HERE.

Went to by a big mirror, I was happy I found what I was looking for, but much to my surprise a customer was treated very badly and I really wanted to walk out the door. Who ever owns this place really need to evaluate there employees, they were very rude and nasty to this customer, she just wanted to return a product. The employees gave her a hard time. I never been to this place & I will not return to any beauty supply store, that is not own by a corporation.

The store is full of all sorts of beauty supplies as and the staff is helpful and pleasant and the prices are more then reasonable.

After many years supporting tgs business, theres still a communication issue or you dont try to relate thoroughly what you seek thru animation/hand signals, efcThey have a large assortment of hair, wigs, nail care, hosiery and also have a nice assortment if stylish hats. Most jewelry appears very costume and your purchase should consider how good it will look in 30-180 days for the price youll pay. It is not a very large store, one has to squeeze by each other as they shop. Ample parking and is just before the Chase & Citibank if you are driving Eastbound and Wingzit restaurant.

Nice little neighborhood beauty supply store that has been around for years, they moved from St.Louis and opened in Harvey, Il about 30 years ago before selling and moving to Cal City, nice owners.

I made a quick run in here one morning last week and everything was so unorganized. I wanted to grab a wig before work but they only had 1 person working and it was a store full of people and never was I knowledge. Then once I stated to the girl how long I was waiting “30 minuets” she made as if she was going to help me which made me wait another 10 mins. It was crazy! I was SUPER late for work! I went around the corner there if anyone else has this problem just go there they have plenty of help there. I was so disappointed in mid k they usually pretty good

I just called at 6:30 pm sunday August 4th 2019, the YOUNG FEMALE answered the phone hello like its her personal cell phone. Smh... Very rude and unprofessional. I asked is this the beauty supply? She said yes. I asked her a simple question, what time do you close tonight? She said 8.I replied ok, thank you, and she hung up in my face. She didnt say youre welcome or thanks for calling. Just ignornat as hell. I wont be going to this beauty supply, EVER!!!! They may have some nice things, but she just ruined it by her VERY UNPROFESSIONAL attitude...

Kinda cluttered in there but other than that its nice...lots of inventory to choose from at least. I live that theyre open later than most beauty supply stores.

Bad customer service, will not be returning. Employess basically watch over you to see if you are stealing & this is why I am always hesitant to go into this store, I’d much rather go to the big beauty supply store that’s literally in the next parking lot. One particular day I was in need of a wig cap that I knew for a fact was in this beauty supply, so I reluctantly went here. I got the wig cap then looked at the earrings figuring I might as well get some earrings as well, & the cashier asked me did I need any help then when I said no thank you she still stood right in front of the aisle, then I went back towars the wig caps thinking maybe I should get more then one since I’m always buying them & another last stood right in front of me as I was looking. Nothing in this location is even worth stealing. I hope they close this place down honestly, you want people’s money but don’t even know how to treat customers.

It’s a nice store to shop at have everything you need I’m there all the time but after 8 the employees are rude and not helpful at all and most of the time they don’t have enough employees in there! They show no urgency, faces look unapproachable! I think it’s because there open to late owner should take in consideration makes you lose business when you have unhelpful, tired, rude workers! Korean lady just not the friendliest nor is her employees👎🏽
