Overcrowded, 2 checkers working with 4 people in each line. Charged 5 cents for paper bags with no handles that tore on the way to the car. Profiteering off the bag ban by buying the cheapest possible bags then charging for them. Workers with masks on chin or under nose and huge amounts of unmasked karens that the store does nothing about. All they care about is $.
Very clean store, service good, big. We went in to do a little grocery shopping at around 2:15pm and there was very little people which is good! I imagine it gets busy around a couple hours from when we went in.
I used to love this Fred Meyer’s, I have been there 2 days in a row and now people are walking around the store with NO MASKS And they have 6 shepherds poles out front and wouldn’t even sell 1 the world has gone crazy and I bet if I went to OC Freddy’s they would have a better selection.
At the store at 8:30 on a Saturday and very few staff present. 30 min wait at single checkstand open with customers having to bag their own groceries like it was Winco but without the great pricing. Looks like Kroger has finally decided to cut back on what used to be a good store.
They got rid of electronics so one star gone for that and Kroger is trying to rid of everything but food slowly but seems like their long term plan. Food disorganization is second star gone TB things constant moving to different islands making difficult to be in and out quick. EMPLOYEES are amazing though and if have ?s they typically know the answer from personal experience. Prices are not much more than Walmart with higher quality.
The customer service counter staff are always helpful. I work hours that dont allow me to get to the bank to cash my check Ive came here near closing time & they are polite & helpful. The manager will bring cash if they have none like I said close to closing & that is very appreciated. Thank you customer service. One more thing I looked at the reviews talking about mask enforcement at this freddies or any other & think masks are BS but hey they do enforce it & for people to say they dont is not ok that can shut businesses down dont lie about things like that be an adult & make sure you are staying safe but dont lie cuz a couple people werent seen without a mask. Got me defending mask & I dont like them.
This is a staple of the what makes up the Canby area. They have great sales on meat from time to time and the staff is pretty nice. Ranks high of all the fred meyers Ive been to.
Will never shop at fredmyers anymore. Ive been cashing manually entered paychecks at fredmyers for three years. Come to find out a super rude manager at the Canby fredmyers refuses to help my boyfriend cash his. Saying that checks are fake if theyre not scannable. WE DO THiS EVERY TWO WEEKS AT FREDMYER. I refuse to shop at any fredmyer now. Your guyss service has always been subpar for me and always rude. Today was the last straw. And no proper COVID precautions either your employees cant wear masks right you let people with out them enter. OSHA needs to pay a visit to you guys.

I ordered a cake on Tuesday from their cake book, I picked it up on Friday and it wasn’t the cake I ordered. I ordered a monster high cake that was pink and blue. I received a white cake with green frosting. I was told they couldn’t make the cake that was in their book even though they had the stuff to make it. They didn’t even attempt to make it similar colors to the cake I ordered. They had a couple days to contact me to let me know they were unable to make the cake I wanted. No one contacted me. The solution they offered was to go buy a cake from Safeway. Highly disappointed
Sick of being singled out by people like Liza at this store with segregated customer service Im not one to wright review but I never am greater at the self checkout and am always the only one never greater even if Im the only one in self checkout I get that everyone gets along with people there own age but being ignored everytime even when you say have a good one by most elderly staff at the self check out it gets old Im a frequent shopper and Im about to stop shopping here if these employees keep throwing shade for no reason.
Karina the store manager does not care about people. She just wants her paycheck and hopes that this virus kills others. When asked about why people are not wearing masks getting told asthma and other medical issues is not okay. I have asthma and still my doctor has told me to keep on wearing my mask especially inside enclosed places.Maybe Karina will catch covid19 and understand the seriousness behind people needing to fully and properly wear a mask.

If I could put zero stars, I would. We have two high risk family members in my home. Fred Meyer is not enforcing the mask mandate. The woman on the phone did not give me her name but said she was an HR rep and that my opinion about masks will not change their stance. We will be taking our business to Safeway where they care about their customers and employees!Employees dont wear them properly and customers dont wear them at all 🙄.
TODAY I WAS SO IMPRESSED WITH THE EXCELLENT CUSTOMER CARE FROM OSCAR in PRODUCE. I wanted to tell their manager so After the Manager (Nelly I think her name was) was called over I waited and waited and waited Finally I walked to the other end of the store to customer dervice They page the manager and told me to meet in produce dept. It was easy as I suffer from R.A. but I did it then waited Finally the manager showed up I told her about the excellent service from Ben and Oscar. She really wasnt that interested. I apologised for calling her away from what she was doing. What a let down!
I cant give them a 5 star any more. They have some problems but refuse to fix them. #1 on the list, I cant walk anymore. They have electric carts but refuse to change the batteries which dont stay charged any longer. #2 when we tell the store to continue with a product which they discontinued, they dont do it. They continue with other items in the same line but not that one. I dont like the breads that they replaced my favorite with. Their replacement isnt good. More info later. Well, its a year later...they havent fixed a thing!When I buy mandarin oranges. They are black & moldy in the middle. Also they are dried out. Where are they being kept? Now I go a little further south to Safeway & buy larger wonderful mandarin oranges.

Worst customer service EVER. Nobody knows how to smile, they all look dead inside with the exception of a few. Literally has 1 lane open when the store is packed, live nextdoor and I avoid unless there is an emergency

The staff here needs to be trained how to bag. I just got home and found my edible products in the same bag with my slug bait! Nice! Im pretty sure that products designed for human consumption should not be bagged with the products that are designed to kill things.

Currently masks are required for all indoor public spaces due to the COVID-19 virus but unfortunately Fred Meyer isnt enforcing this. Cutsforth Thriftway down the street is doing the right thing and enforcing the order, Costco is as well. I watched a lady at Fred Meyer cough into her hand and then proceeded to put her hands on multiple tomatoes looking for the one she wanted. That is when I turned around and took my business elsewhere.
Great shop, friendly atmosphere and wonderful meats. Love coming in here and grabbing some food and snacks to savor for weeks.

Fred Meyer, what can one say...? Well, for starters very convenient for just about any daily living life needs.... Foods, toiletries, home and garden, clothing, electronics, etc... Also, fairly painless getting in and out relatively quick.
On Saturday Oct.5 at 11:00 a.m. there were only 2 checkout stands open with numerous people in line. The people in line had lots of groceries in their carts. Amazing, such poor customer service.

Whenever I return from a trip south, I always stop here to shop for groceries on my way home. I love, for the most part, all Fred Meyer stores carry the same brands, honor their coupons and have the same sales specials... including groceries, electronics, gardening, housewares, make-up, camping, toys, auto, plumbing, jewelery, clothing and shoes to seasonal items. Access to free parking, including handicap parking and entry. Employees are friendly and helpful. 💓 Fred Meyer!
There is a fine chap named Luna working in the electronics section. He can find you the best deals. He makes sure you get all your benefits with every purchase by using your membership and coupons. He got me nearly 20 dollars off of about 70 dollars worth of electronics. Thanks good sir.
Never enough lanes open on the weekends. Self checkout employees (one older man in particular) are very rude. Seriously when there are 3 people waiting in every lane to check out blocking the entire walking isle between food isles, get more registers open!! Its a consistent problem. Occasionally someone will grab ONE customer and help them in a different lane but they never open that lane up. Whats going on? Is this the DMV?!

The remodeling was a great improvement over the origin narrow aisles. Canby Fred Meyers also has some of the nicest workers. Free samples are a nice touch, especially in the bakery department where most of the time the cookies are full size and not cut into quarters.
Customer service DIDNT answer phone. 3 calls in a row. 8 min 5 min 6 min. All calls magically disconnected! How is that SERVICE?

Very friendly employees. Store is pretty clean. I like that they have a little day care where you can put your child in while you shop. I like that they have reward program. You can get up to a $1.00 off of gas. They send you coupons in the mail on items that you purchase. You also get a percentage back every 3 months that you spend back into the store. 😁😁😱
During my most recent visit to Canby Fred Meyer, i discovered that my mother has recently become aggressively thrifty. (Did not know that was even a thing.) The cashier, (as well as the manager who offered his assistance after noticing the...ummm...situation that was unfolding), both handled her newfound monetary attitude with much more professionalism and grace than i could have mustered up if i had been in their shoes. So to both of them, thank you very much! ✌️💓
Today marks the third time that they missed one of my bags when putting them in my cart. I will need to go to self check out from now on. I went back to to the store (this being the first time I’ve complained about it) and told the dim wit bagger lady and she says sorry it’s not here. I told her “I see that” you probably put it in the next customer’s cart because you weren’t paying attention because she was just talking about herself the whole time. She told me to go to customer service. Guess what, it’s only 4 small items but it’s the 3rd time!! It’s always one of you young gals who doesn’t take your job serious and then we have missing items because of it. Also... warning.. check your receipts when you get home. I can guarantee there’s at least one item on there that was double scanned! This has also happened to me multiple times at this store 😡.

This Fred Meyers has the friendliest staff. I truly appreciate when an employee walks by with a smile & hello or can help you find anything. I know Im spending my time & $$ at the right place. Ive had to complain @ staff ignoring customers (myself & others) never a hi or a smile (Oak Grove). I found as I was making a complaint 1 of the employees was the dept manager that made it worst. Didnt seem to make a difference since they all still work there.... Choose wisely which Freddies you all shop at it makes a world of difference for myself leaving with a smile is better than leaving frustrated & disappointed...
Would give it 5 stars but theres too many Ford trucks in the parking lot.
This Fred Meyer is horrible. They may treat their customers well, but their employees they dont. I have heard horrible stories from more than one employee. I understand that employers have strict rules for their employees to follow, but from what I have heard they just dont care for their employees. I cant give this place a no star review so a one star will have to do.
Came to the Canby Fred Meyers first thing at 7:30 to get flowers for a very special someone, wanted to have two boquetes split and combined Into one. The problem was they didnt have anyone in floral until 9:00. I asked a very nice lady if there was anyone else here that could do it for me. She then went and got the manager Tony and he was able to help me out! Thanks for the great customer service!
Employees are helpful, but do not know their products or where to find things. They polite and helpful and are willing to go the extra mile to help. Freddys used to be a warm friendly place. Now, is too confusing with things in illogical places. Miss the big electronics department. Dislike the enlarged wine departments, with few to no customers within at any time of day. There is a large variety of products. The produce department is always awesome. The are no better natural foods section in any store, anywhere.
I did not know it was company policy to try to shame a person using foodstamps into buying a paper bag when they are again using foodstamps indicating they might not have the money you seek hence why they are using foodstamps. Your guy Sherman should be talked too about trying that tactic on anyone again. It is very rude and in some ways dehumanizing while it others embarrassing.

Been doing the remodeling on multiple multiple freddys, in Washington and Oregon. And it seems Kroger is slowly killing the one stop shopping experience Fred Meyers is known for. By getting rid of departments all together or combining them and down sizing both. Really is sad.
Good store, good people, mostly. In fact everyone is very helpful. One exception or this would be five stars.. fat blonde slob of a guy in electronics is very unhelpful and scared my 2 Kids.. treated us what a jerk!

I had trouble finding a particular product, Tahiti, so I asked for help from an employee. She had trouble too so she went to three location before she found it and took me to the location. I call that good service.

Pretty much has most things that one could need. Its not a huge food store, but is a pretty good size. The healthy expensive stuff is conveniently segregated from the good priced products of which I desire most, due to not having a whole ton of dinero. Its pretty much one of the only grocery options in Canby as well.
Our visit to the Canby Fred Meyer store was a little challenging today because they are in the middle of a remodel. We did pretty good and there were a lot of their employees helping people find things. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Checkout was fast and efficient. Very nice store othetwise.

This is a clean place to shop. I noticed two employees cleaning up near t meat counter and the dairy case. I would rate it higher except for the layout is bad. The high priced natural label is all bunched in the center of the store. Most other stores have the green label all on one side so you can skip it easily.
This Fred Meyer has amazing sales on baby food and baby items. Will definitely go there for all my baby needs

With very little warning, Linda & Kay in the Deli graciously prepared food platters for a funeral dinner. They were angels on duty today as they blessed our day with their handiwork.
You know you’ve made it to the adulting phase when you start to purchase your underwear in the same store that you purchase your groceries. If you were to see my list of items to purchase you’d probably be like who is this maniac and why does she need a printer, cat litter scoop and new underwear?

My visit to Fred Meyer yesterday was a little frustrating. I had just about finished my shopping, and had to leave my shopping cart unattended for a few minutes. When I came back, my cart was gone. I asked for help, but no one had seen it & couldnt help. I not only lost my reusable bags, but had to reshop for the items, some of which were no longer available. Needless to say, dont leave your shopping cart unattended, even in an emergency.

I was repeatedly asked if I needed help finding things, I was greeted like a close friend, and John led me right to the item I needed. He didnt just point the direction I needed to go. I didnt feel like they fled as I walked to them. Worth the drive from Oregon City.
Consistently clean and inviting. Like most Freddys, prices are ok -- but not amazing. However, to my surprise, Ive done the bulk of my everyday shopping at this store since moving to Canby (about 3 years ago). They have a respectable selection of home goods and groceries, so I almost always find what I need. Also, I really like that they provide free fruit in the produce section -- to appease the kiddos!Ive tried shopping the other grocery stores in town, but keep coming back to Freddys. Good location, good staff!

Layout is a bit odd when it comes to finding certain things and it seems to change so often that the staff often dont know where things are either. The fact they have free fruit for kids is pretty dang awesome, Ive gotta say. Serious downfall for me is that almost every staff member will stop me in the aisles to ask about my service animal. And theres a lot of staff. So it gets old really fast. And they do it every time. Ive been going here with a service animal for almost 2 years. In a small town, you think theyd be used to it by now and just let me go about my business.

I want to Thank Canby store director Steve for going above and beyond for me to make sure I was not only a satisfied customer, but due to the confusion on the television I called to make sure was in stock that upon my arrival to pick it up, only to find out was not the tv, Steve then made sure that I left home with a different Samsung 50 tv at the same selling black Friday price as the one that was not in stock. I truly appreciate his understanding and for allowing to make it right that in place of the TV out of stock, granted me the same deal on a nicer Samsung. And I also want to thank on the floor home girl Marissa for being upfront about the ordeal. Yes I am a fellow Fred Meyer employee at the OC store, I am a loyal customer as well. I dont like how some of the employees are treated. I have witnessed PICs and managers treat the employees like they are garbage. They are just doing their jobs, but yet, they are getting yelled at anyway. Very disappointed here. :(

There was a lot of Caucasian male employees following me around the store. Im sure the rebuttal to my statement will fall along the lines of paranoia and denying it happened. Ill end by saying the older ladies and the melanated ladies were super kind but the Klan of male employees made myself and sister feel discriminated against.

I am giving the store only 1 star, not because the staff is not friendly because they are great. Its becaus as a person who has to use one of their handicap cart it is difficult to almost impossible to maneuver the clothing /handbag area. I tried to look at womens wallets and the isle was so narrow a woman with a regular shopping cart was barely able to go between. And trying to turn a corner is a joke. But 2 carts can pass each other in the grocery area. Which is really nice. I just wish the people in charge had to try during the busy hour to maneuver all areas of their store in a cart. Also the carts are starting to not hold a charge. I was there at 7 am one morning and had to have them get me a 2nd cart as the 1st died 1/2 through shopping.
I come here often, very convenient.
