Brand new Mercedes 450 GLE 2021 has MAJOR electrical failure. Back-up camera and dashboard don’t function.Appointment times are booked weeks out. No concern about safety while driving vehicle with electrical failure.Upon arriving at appointment, waited over 25minutes just to be greeted.Some of vehicle concerns, such as assuring alignment was straight, were dismissed upon check-in by greeter. Not reassuring!Not impressed with customer service at the Service counter.
Just picked up a beautiful C300 Mercedes... leasing my fourth car with them! Top-notch salesperson, Reed Kaelin (also my fourth time working with her,) found me the perfect car and a great deal. No high pressure sales tactics, just listening to what you want and need and making it happen!
If you google customer service, the top result should be Aaron Corp. I scheduled an appointment to have my sprinter checked out, it was struggling to hold RPMs uphill. When I arrived Aaron greeted me and pointed out the large amount of sprinters on the lot and that it could be tough to get my van back same day. Mind you, Im currently living out of it on a road trip. I told him this and he went to work. I was able to spend the day in the lobby and work while Aaron worked his magic. They were able to get a part delivered from a nearby dealership and installed before 3PM, all service was covered under warranty and Aaron kept me up to date throughout the day. I walked away shaking my head in disbelief because that type of communication, treatment as a customer, and result seems to be becoming a thing of the past. Thats not the case with Aaron and MB of Carlsbad. Thanks guys!!PS. The fix solved the vans problems and shes now purring like a kitty up these California hills.

HANDS DOWN ONE OF THE BEST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCES! We’ve bought a few cars over the years and this was one of the best experiences we’ve had buying a car! First off, Dave was the salesman who helped us through the entire process & he was absolutely incredible and such a pleasure to work with! He showed us every feature in the model SUV we were looking at, answered any questions we had, and made us feel genuinely taken care of throughout the process! We were cracking jokes the entire time & he was so personable and so much fun to work with!After going through the “looking” process, Rich helped us with the finance portion—& just like Dave—he was incredibly helpful and answered any questions we had! One thing we really appreciated was that he didn’t try and up sell us on any other packages unless it was something that would fit our needs over the lifetime of our car (which was a huge thing since we got ripped off at our last car buying experience!) He made sure that everything was outlined and clear and took the time to make sure we understood what we were getting with the warranty we were purchasing.The following day we ended up bringing in some Chic-fil-A for the entire team (because they rock!) and got to meet with Pete who is their sales manager. It is impossible to schedule a routine service here. Online scheduler non-functional, online chat promised a return call that never happened, messages left with the service department unanswered. Extremely disappointed.
Sales experience was OK, but I am always frustrated with the service department. They are absolutely not there take care of customers. I really like my car, but hate taking it in for service.
Went in this morning ready to order a new 4x4 sprinter. Too bad the sales people couldn’t bother to help. My wife and I waited around for a bit before a salesman quickly blew us off. Too bad we had to drive out to Escondido (as we live in Carlsbad) and give them our business.
The WORST MB dealer I have ever used, 7 phone calls/texts to get pricing on a simple car service... never a call back!!!! Always a recorder, and if a live person, NOT much help. I have used Carlsbad, Nashville, Escondido, Bowling Green... these folks rank LAST.
The worst customer service I’ve experienced from Mercedes in over 15 years of driver Mercedes. Completely unorganized and there was faulty customer service from the start. I took my 2016 Mercedes s 550 coupe in on Friday 4/2/21 was told it would be ready Tuesday. Come Tuesday we need another day come Wednesday no call so I call and I’m told it’s still not ready. Come Thursday Paul my service associate did not call or answer when I reached out. I get a call on Friday from a woman asking for the vin number of my rental car at 3:30 pm 4/9/21. They didn’t even know what rental that had given me. I ask when is my car ready? She says oh it’s been ready since yesterday. I tell her I was told yesterday it still wasn’t ready. I then say I’m still at work and can’t make it there until Saturday. She says service is closed Saturday but you can still pick your car up with sales we will prep pick up. I show up to Saturday and am told sorry we weren’t givin permission to give you your car until Monday. I am absolutely livid at the communication and customer service of Paul. The sales Manager Rhett Sanders wasn’t much help all he said was sorry don’t have anything we will call you Monday. Well Mercedes of Carlsbad all the work you did on my s550 coupe go ahead and take off and keep whatever you did. I will be having the car towed to San Diego kearny Mesa to a real dealership that has there ducks in order and knows how to treat a customer. The whole experience was a joke working with Carlsbad Mercedes. Stay away driving 10-20 miles to a different location in order to avoid this sh*t show is worth it.
We had a horrible experience here with our Sprinter. They were over a day late even starting to look at the vehicle and when they did, they did not listen to what we had communicated at all. We told them about a known issue that occurred hundreds of times in high altitude with no error to be read by the computer (we have a computer reader). After another two days with the vehicle, they called with “.great new” saying they could not recreate the issue and said there was no error code so the van was fine. What?! The van is not fine. It has a horrible sputter every single time we drove it and got to a certain rpm. Another huge issue, they would not answer phones. Even the Hoehn receptionist could not get them to pick up the phone.And to top it off, we had things fall from the inside of our van that have never fallen during the thousands of miles we have driven it and on countless horrible dirt road. What did they do while driving it? How fast did they take corners?We are extremely disappointed with this service department.
Not impressed by the Service Representatives that they have staff there. Went in to see if they were able to perform services to my vehicle. Instead I was responded with a default answer that Mercedes didn’t have the software too. I have done weeks of research and read many forums that this function can be done with the SDS Star diagnostic tool. Yet the personnel did not want to get out of his comfy little office to ask his service tech guys to see if it could even be done. I am highly disappointed with the Service department.
Hoehn Mercedes-Benz truly values their customers. Service is always prompt, loaner car is on standby as soon as you arrive to your appointment, and I never have to worry about waiting around. I have been able to drop my car off prior to work and still arrive on time without skipping a beat. Communication is wonderful from the moment you make a reservation (can easily reschedule and request a loaner car via online portal as well) and throughout the service appointment whether you choose to communicate via phone or email based on what is most convenient for you at the time. Dave, the service manger/supervisor, provided excellent customer service and guidance when needed.Highly recommend Paul Nelson as your service advisor! Superior service, extremely honest, prompt follow up and very accommodating!
Horrible experience. I had the worst service experience Ive ever had at any dealership. Just moved to La Costa from out of state and had a Mercedes break recall to get fixed...always had my cars serviced at a Mercedes dealer. I called Hoen Mercedes and they said I would be provided a loaner car as a service. After work on Friday night, which is the only time I could get to this, I get there with insurance and drivers licence in hand and the sales manager asks for my auto registration. MBUSA verified my registration over the phone, but I didnt have a copy of it. I went as far as offering the original purchase docs that were in the glove box as well as. The absurdly pampas and extremely rude sales manager comes out off his throne and office and states hes not going to give me a loaner because I had no registration for the benz I was leaving there to get fixed. Ive never been asked to have registration to have a car repaired, even with getting a loaner. I asked how or what does registration of the repair car being left has anything to do with a loaner or add a liability? The Sales manager responded, you have a $5000 car, I would never allow a $60,000 car when you leave a $5000 car here. you can leave your car to get fixed and uber or walk home. Then proceeded to ask in a very condescending way, its been 5 years since you bought it why would you not have the registration?Since It was so important for him to know what Ive been doing for 5 years, I let him know, because this Benz sits in the garage most of the time and Ive not needed it because I drive another, and more importantly since my business is now apparently yours, I had two of my children that were almost killed while in and out hospital for the past five years that were recovering so I didnt have much time to deal with a sitting car. Needless to say, I took the car elsewhere.All this insult for a loaner car for what wa a Mercedes break recall...Chris Murphy, the General Manager and his smug response are the catalyst to this behavior. its no wonder the sales manager behaves that way. This behavior is endorsed by management here. Its everything one would hate about any luxury car dealership....I went to Escondido Mercedes...same scenario... had great service, added more maintenance for them to do, and had ZERO issues. Amazing what you get from one dealership to another. My car was fixed and back on the road again quickly without any issues.Chris Murphy and his empty apologies would be fired if this dealerships ownership cared about how people are treated. Says a lot that theyre still there.

I brought in my Sprinter RV for a new fuel pump. They got me checked in promptly. Reviewed expected cost and offered me a shuttle home, although I already had a ride to pick me up. They called me later that day to say things were finished. I asked them to leave the RV up near the office and Id be right in to pick it up. When I arrived it was right there, shiny and freshly washed. Paid and drove away within minutes. Easy.
As usual, Hoehn Mercedes of Carlsbad, California, provided excellent service for my automobile. It was accomplished in a timely, efficient and reasonably priced fashion.The dealership provided an excellent, virtually brand new, loaner vehicle of a level equivalent to my own vehicle; this, loaner was provided efficiently within a few minutes of completing the service check-in of my own vehicle.The personnel at the service check-in and at the loaner department were extraordinarily nice & helpful and were the same people I had dealt with for years. This dealership clearly does not treat its employees as disposable. Good management comes down from the top.
Just finished trading in my car for an AMG in their inventory, and wanted to recommend Billy Daniels for anyone considering doing the same. I walked in late on a Wednesday morning and drove out with my wife in our AMG GLC the next afternoon. Actually got a fair price for my trade-in. Billy was low-to-no pressure, just really informative, and incredibly helpful in making the deal happen. Hes done this for a while, has a card that reads Master Certified and is certainly expert on everything Mercedes, but especially AMG. Im not a regular Google review poster, but really felt that this caliber of sales service deserved a shout-out.
I always have an positive experience when I bring my Mercedes in for servicing at Hoehn. Ive had the same customer service person, Dan Reeves, for several years and Dan provides great support. Its nice to have continuity with the people you deal with when you get your car serviced. I was worried that I was going to have a buy an expensive headlight replacement because one of my headlights was cloudy. But Hoehn has a way of removing the milky film on headlights that works really well and makes them look like new. It was very reasonably priced also.
Traveling through California I was getting a signal in my Mercedes Sprinter that something was wrong so I stopped in and spoke with Greg Dixon the service advisor who went above and beyond to help me figure out what the problem was and fix it everyone at this dealership was kind and courteous to me and eager to get me back on the road to continue my Adventures I highly recommend this dealership and service department to anyone
When I went to go look at the 2019 Mercedes, I casually went in one Sunday with my daughters to Hoehn in Carlsbad. Kristine Kaelin came up to us and asked a lot of questions and we narrowed it down to two cars. She is excellent! I never felt pressured or stressed. I didnt buy a car that day. A year later, I finally needed to buy a car and went to every dealership but knew Kristine was my girl. She spent so much time with me, never judging me and answered all my questions. I found a car that I loved but the dealership wouldnt do trades so I gave up the car because I wasnt going to leave Kristine. I was loyal to her. In the end, she found an incredible car that I love!!! Kristine is the best if you want an honest consultant that you can trust to get you in the right car at the right price. I would give her a 10 if I could! Thank you Kristine for never giving up on me and for finding me the right car!
Excellent Service Department operates with integrity.My A/C died. It worked 1 hour earlier.Diagnosis: faulty compressor, low pressure - $1900 + taxUpon further inquiry it was determined that the compressor was was still functional at a diminished performance level.With winter months approaching, the need for A/C is minimal. I can live with cool air (vs. cold) for the next 6 months.Final outcome: recharge A/C and return to service for $280.Gratitude to the service department for providing me with all the facts and including me in the repair/replace decision.
It is very easy for me to get a last minute appointment at Hoehn Motors. The staff is friendly and very reliable. My service manager, Dan Reeves, is the best! He is someone i can rely on to help me make good decisions on the maintenance of my car. I love that they always have a loaner car and keep me informed on when my are is ready to pick up.

I had an issue with my SL55 that could only be fixed by the dealer. The Hoehn service department was superb! Paul, my service adviser, was outstanding. He communicated with us and kept us up to date on the issue with the car. The service tech was knowledgeable and was able to quickly diagnose the issue. We were able to discuss with them several options to fix the vehicle. It was done in a timely manner and with no problems. The car is running great again. I highly recommend their service department.
I just bought a new Mercedes S Coupe from Hoehn Mercedes in Carlsbad. Mercedes has been my car of choice for years and Fletcher Jones was my dealership for the last three, including two SLs and an S Sedan. This time my FJ rep seemed to take me for granted and tried to discourage me from buying the coupe. In contrast, Hoehn out-performed! Dealing with sales expert Reed Kaelin was amazing – everything one wants in making a deal. She was open and forthright, took the time to thoroughly answer questions and explain details, and the deal she offered was even aligned with what was described as the maximum discount on the internet. I was having hydraulic problems with my SL500s top, so after dinner on Thursday, my wife and I drove around the dealerships in Carlsbad. We got out and were walking around the Hoehn BM-B lot at closing time, a gentleman asked if he needed help while he was checking the vehicles to ensure they were locked, we said no. But then we saw something that caught our eye, we asked the gentleman a couple of questions...even though it was closing time, he went back into the dealership and printed out the information we asked about. Saad was very knowledgeable and patient with us and continued that same customer care the following day when we returned. Well, now we have a new-to-us E400 Cabriolet and are thrilled. The process was painless and everyone at the dealership was great to work with. I highly recommend this dealership for purchasing a vehicle and I specifically recommend Saad as a sales associate.

I dont like to buy cars but this is not a bad experience I have to admit. This is my fourth Mercedes and I went through two dealerships. I did not like either of them. But this dealership provided a more relaxed Atmosphere.The sales person was only there for a week but had enough knowledge about the car. He followed up at the right time and was not heavy handed in pushing the sales. I dont enjoy high pressure type of sales. With The low-profile approach, I feel more at home and comfortable in making a decision. The Management was supportive and willing to deal.The paperwork is a little bit slow, but with all the requirements, It might be common every place I go. The only thing they neglected to do is a follow up meeting. With the new technology, theres so much to learn about your new car. I think a follow up meeting within a week to make sure your customer understand all the updated technology in terms of how to maximize The potential of what your new car. I made this comment on their survey and The issue was quickly remedied. I am now enjoying my New car and would recommend people to this dealership and the sales person.
We had just arrived in Carlsbad on vacation when the rear hatch of our ML 350 became stuck wide open. I called Hoehn Mercedes on a Friday afternoon at 5:00pm and they told me to drive it in. He was able to answer all my questions completely with detail. He too was able to carry on a human conversation which was nice. Great guy. Online service A for 2018 E300 Mercedes was easy to setup. Took about 2 hours to perform the oil change and checking a few low key items. The cost is a bit high considering only an oil change for $310. Need to do this to make sure the warranty is in place.
First time getting my car serviced here. It was easy. Drove up and my service advisor, Paul Nelson, came out to great me. Very friendly and easy to communicate with. I was given a loaner car while my car was getting serviced, but they had it ready within a couple of yours.Note: The service department has great coffee.

Absolutely wonderful new car purchase experience! Our salesperson, Billy Daniels, spent hours of time showing us several car models, explaining their differences, and benefits, and allowing us to test drive (several times) the vehicle of our ultimate choice. Before departing with our new C-300, he patiently explained the major essentials of operation of the vehicle (which, of course, were just the beginnings of many new lessons to be learned about this magnificent new car!) I was, as usual, very pleased with the annual service provided by Hoehn Mercedes. I was the first to arrive (before 7:00 am) and the car was immediately entered for servicing. The process took a little more than an hour although there was a problem I had had involving starting the car. I enjoyed good Internet access in the waiting area as well as a couple cappuccinos. Its a great place for servicing and far better than anything Ive experienced with other car makes. I highly recommend.
Great experience buying a car, actually probably the best one yet. They were fair and efficient. They really went out of their way to help us. We love our new car. Laurie and manager Pete helped us and were extremely professional, nice and knowledgeable.
My car had wire harness being chewed out several times in the past two months, which is not covered by warranty. My service agent, Paul, helped to identify and fix the issue permanently in different ways very quickly. Even though I am a little bit of disappointed with the same issue happened again and again, I am happy and satisfied the services they provided. The car runs great so far. Will definitely go there for next service in the future.

He was courteous, enthusiastic and should be recognized for his great customer service. We are also very pleased with the professional and personal attention provided by the Auto Service Center. I took my car for service to Carlsbad Hoen Mercedes. I arrived 30 minutes late for my appointment. I had another appointment at noon and was worried I wouldn’t make it. The service took care of me ASAP and they had my car finished way ahead of the time they told me. Excellent job. Nearby are outlet malls you can easily walk there and do some shopping while you are waiting for your car to be serviced.
I recently had my Sprinter Camper Van serviced at the Hoehn Carlsbad shop. There were some issues that I felt did not meet the quality that I expect from Hoehn Mercedes. I brought these issues to the attention of the Service Manager, and I must say, he went above and beyond to assure that I left as a happy customer. Excellent service is what I expected AND what I received.
The work on my car seems to be fine, but I always dread bringing my car in.The staff in the service department are not welcoming, and sometimes the opposite. I recently brought my car for a scheduled service. Showed up 5 minutes early. The specified service consultant wasnt available so I waited while the greeter tried to find someone else to help me.After being directed back to the original person, she argued back and forth and complained to several other staff about not knowing which customer to take first, and how someone else should help me.Then she complained to me about the situation. I told her I just had an appointment and showed up on time, and the behind the scenes difficulties are not my issue to take on.Because this type of treatment (not being treated like a customer here) are so common, I spoke to the service manager. He said he would look into it, but never followed up with me.Picked up my car on time, no further problems, but I would just like to be treated professionally at the very least, and perhaps like I am a customer and not a bother to the staff here in the service department.They did ask me to post a review, so here it is.
I hate having to take my car in for service; however, going to Hoehn for service can make this chore almost pleasant. From making an appointment, checking in for service, getting a loaner car, and returning to pick up my car post service, everyone I encounter is courteous, efficient, professional, and my service is completed on time--as promised. It just doesnt get much better. I bought my vehicle in Carlsbad at Hoehn Mercedes, then moved to San Diego. Despite the distance to Carlsbad, I choose to drive to Hoehn for periodic needed services--they are just that good!
It was a pleasure working with Billy Daniels. He sold us the car we wanted at a very fair price. No haggling, no BS. His product knowledge is fantastic. The car was going to be for me, so Billy spoke with me directly about the features, etc. rather than my husband. I would not hesitate to recommend Billy to my family and friends.

Regular service. Did not expect delay so I waited. Technician found radiator cracked. They stayed on job until finished. Got me out by 1PM. Paul did a great job of keeping me informed.

The service department was very courteous and efficient when I brought my Sprinter in for an airbag device recall. I was on my way in an hour. I had just enough time to take a stroll through the discount shopping center and get a cup of hot chocolate.

I bought my brand new E Class in October of 2011 - along with the extended warranty (just in case) at Hoehn Mercedes in Carlsbad. I have been religious about getting my car serviced at the recommended intervals and Stephanie in the Service Department has been my associate from day one. I had a wonderful experience purchasing my C300 Cabriolet at Hoehn Motors with Paul M. Unlike Mercedes of San Diego, where I purchased my last car, Paul never pressured me, was honest the entire time and didnt try to swindle me with an over the top price that didnt make sense. In fact, Paul M. was a gentleman and fantastic salesman to work with. The entire experience was a complete 180 from Mercedes San Diego. At that place, they train their salesmen to tell you that they are taking a loss for the great deal you are getting. Meanwhile, I got a way better deal at Hoehn and they never once tried to make me feel bad about it or tell me that they were taking a loss on it. I highly recommend Hoehn Motors and I look forward to getting more cars from them in the future!
