The front desk, nurses and Dr. Weidman were amazing. Everyone was kind, the process ran smoothly and I felt it was an A+ experience. Thank you to the Park Road/Pineville location.
First Visit for my mom went extremely well, and even though it was a long visit (to be expected), it went by really fast. My mom is looking forward to getting her cataracts taken care of and is happy with this practice.
From the time I walked into Horizon Eye Care the staff was extremely nice and welcoming. The receptionist who checked me in asked for my information so nicely. I then asked about the new Doctor I was about to see she spoke so highly of him. I then seat for about 5 minutes and the nurse called me back she asked what brought me in today she listened to all my concerns and then addressed them. She checked my eyes and was very encouraging. She then took me to other room where another nurse was waiting she did my eye exam and was also comforting and kind. The doctor came in and asked what was going on and what concerns did I have with my eyes. He listened and then came up with a solution after checking my eyes one more time. He was really great. I love going to Horizon Eye Care it’s the best eye care place in Charlotte.
My visit was very pleasant at this location. From the ladies at the front office (Lisa took care of me and she was great) Thanks for offering me the option to take the pic instead of dilating my eyes! Very much worth the extra $40. Then the moment I sat down a young lady (I believe her name is Charisse the Steelers Fan) called me to the back. She was very pleasant as well. Now last but not least Dr. Minkowski, (my goodness he’s tall and gorgeous!! I saw through the mask he had on) he was very thorough in explaining my eye health and answered all my questions. I am very thankful for good eye health but can’t wait for my next visit! I love that location
Went to Horizon for an eye exam and the staff and doctors were friendly and knowledgeable. The man in the frames area was helpful and patient and steered me to the best frames for my budget and my prescription. I love my new glasses and plan to get some computer glasses there soon!!

Ive been a patient at this location for many years and I finally voiced my intent to inform the insurance companies of my experience with this location; namely the EXTREMELY long wait times (which is typically at a minimum of 3 hours). As a result of expressing my intent to the provider, I was released from the practice, the provider took my intent to inform my carrier “as a threat” and the provider further expressed being “uncomfortable” treating now?! In the past, Ive asked for an reason for the extremely long wait times. I was given what appears to be a scripted response of “there was an emergency”. It is understandable that emergencies do occur in a physicians office during normal hours, but the long wait times is habitual (maybe they should rename this location Horizon Emergency Eye Care ). In regards to these “extremely” long wait times, my concerns is obviously not an isolated incident (as other on line reviews from patients clearly indicate). In any case, my purpose for conveying my concern to the Provider Relations Department of the insurance companies is that hopefully they can provide the practice with the needed tools and support in order to rectify this issue. In fact, some insurance companies have representative that specifically work with practices to assist with issues...... Rather than taking offense and being uncomfortable, why not take advantage of the services that our premiums pay for, after all those premiums help pay your salary.....
This location always has extremely long wait times. Ive had yearly visits and regular visits for post op surgery follow up. It requires that I take the whole day off of work.

I went to Charlotte Eye Ear Nose & Throat and Dr Atlas dismissed my eye redness and swelling and told me I had damaged blood vessels. I came to Horizon Eye and saw Dr Tomasko for a second opinion and he found a nodule on my eye AND pulled a splinter out of my eye!!!!! Dr Tomasko was thorough and took his time; checked, double checked, and triple checked. I can tell you I walked away feeling much better about things! Thank you, Dr Tomasko!
My mother in law loves Dr Minnal. We’d give her 5+ stars. But the wait time at this clinic is horrible. A 90 minute wait to see the dr is the norm, and that is very hard on. 97 yr old. We would not recommend this office.
I tried to make an appointment for my yearly diabetic eye exam. Was told it would be 2 months or longer for an appointment at the Pineville location and if I wanted an earlier appointment I could go to another location, well the other closest location is 20-30 minutes away. Thats absolutely ridiculous when Pineville is 2 minutes from me. In my 17 years of being diabetic Ive never had to wait that long for a diabetic eye exam appointment. Good bye Horizon Eye Care! BTW I called Eyes, Ears, Nose and Throat in Pineville and had an appointment the next day. And they were more friendly with a better attitude.
Great staff and eye dr. It went downhill once we got towards the end to get my child fitted for her glasses. We felt VERY rushed when someone of a different “race” came in and was rushing the guy that helped clients pick their eyeglasses. He put us off so quick to get to the lady when he could of simply helped us both. We spent all of 3 minutes deciding on glasses and my child didn’t really get to pick what she wanted. I feel that the staff member could of definitely handled that differently!! My family will NOT be returning to a place that brushed us off and treats us this way. I’ve never really experienced anything like this until today and I must say I’m disgusted.
I got to my appointment 10 minutes early to ensure I was on time and they were 40 minutes late just getting me seated. At every phase between dilation, contact fitting, etc it was about another 15 minute wait. Horrible service. I have used horizon since I was a kid but every year they get worse. This year I spent almost hour and a half there to be seen for about 15 minutes in total. What a joke
I have been a patient here for years. I called for an appointment, it took a LONG time to get to a real person on the phone, then she transferred me again. I was told the first appointment is in 4 months. I called another Eye Doctor as a new patient, and got an appointment in 2 days, and they were very helpful on the phone-and pleasant. I called Horizon Eye back to cancel the appointment, had to wait again for a person. She asked if I was going to reschedule, I said No. She said Perfect, then hung up. I was already hesitant to return because last time I felt like I was treated like a number, not a person.
Was so thankful they were able to take me in with an emergency situation. The nurses & doctors were very helpful and nice with me. I got something stuck inside my eye under the lid and they got it out thankful!
Unfortunate experience with this location. After taking an afternoon off work, taking my child out of school and confirming our appointment before doing all of this....I drive 40 minutes to this location to be told that Dr. Daughtery decided to take the day off.No notification, but rather a confirmation from the front office that morning. Very unprofessional, disappointing. I would not recommend booking any appointments here....cant promise youll still have it after you re-arrange your day and confirm it!
I am in this Pineville location waiting may be for 2 hours. Today morning I called for a same day appointment for my uveitis coz it gets deteriorated in every minutes. I get that every year so I am very much familiar with the symptom. Lady told me over the phone I can come right away 8:20/30 in the morning. Now it is 9:55. And I spoke to the front desk. They told me to wait, dont know when will see the doctor. She shouldnt tell me to come right now. Its a mess.
While the Doctor is really good, the scheduling of appointments is ridiculous. Recently had to get up and leave as after an hour, I still was not seen. And it was just for something that probably would have taken 5-10 minutes to check. This was not the first time I got up and left.
Very, very good doctors but you can figure every appt for a minimum of 2 hours. Moved into many offices to wait in the dark room. They need to re-think the office appt. My husband has a serious ngoing problem and cant get in to see Dr. Garvey till June

Awful experience. I visited 3 months sho and was told the only way to be seen is if I have a condition. So the front desk clerk told me to say eye duct clogged. I told her no. I only want my yearly exam. She advised that I couldn’t be seen. Now after looking over my insurance coverage I discovered that they are my vision provider so I rescheduled for a different location. I was seen with no problem. Now I’m here and I’ve been in waiting area for an hour. Eyes dialating one hour.. this place is insane!!!! Over booked under staff
My husband came here for laser but walked out of the initial exam due to the technicians very poor bedside manner. I called to explain the situation to management but I never heard back from them. The billing department was nice enough taking payment but it certainly appears that they are lacking in customer service elsewhere. I DO NOT recommend Horizon Eye.
They didnt sent the bill to the right insurance, ( VSP instead of BCBS) so I am now sending the bill to the insurance company by my-self, and waiting for the insurance company to pay me back. $ 289+ 75+60 total of $ 424 only to get my contacts formula, kind of expensive as i was expecting to pay just $ 10.00.
I do NOT recommend anyone to go to Horizon Eye, especially if you have medical problems with your eyes. If you have a problem it is never resolved. I spent more time 30 minutes with the operator on the phone trying to help me, making calls on my behalf than I spent with the Doctor (5 minutes total). The front office staff in Pineville are rude and unappreciative that as the patient I am paying their salary. I highly discourage anyone from making an appointment here. The contact lense department and the doctors do NOT communicate. This was a horrible experience!!
Finally!! Someone has my perception right! Dr Bell is very nice and knowledgable., quick and really listened. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is theres a disconnect in communication between the Dr and contact lense tech. I told her what the dr and I discussed to go from monthly contacts to daily and it worked out. But...they shouldve talked to one another or notes made to the technician before discussing w the patient. That way what I tell the contact lense tech is confirmed and no confusion. Ill be back though. Still happy w the overall experience.
I have been seeing Dr Smith for years. He, the clinical staff and the contact lense folks have always been professional and friendly. I DO wish they would put a sign on their door that says to PULL - I struggled to get it open, then watched everyone after me struggle as well.
Very happy with Horizon EyeCare.
