This place is awesome, I bought a fixed gear bike on Saturday that had a few issues I noticed while riding it and one of the mechanics- Alex did everything he could to solve all my issues, and each time I went there I gravitated and admired (with Alex) a beautiful All-City Space Horse that was on display. After a few days of thinking on it, I knew that was the real bike I wanted.He let me return my original bike and refunded my money. No questions asked.The owner of the business even came in to make sure the Space Horse was functioning to perfection and even educated me on the perils of Cross Chaining before I left the store to ensure the life and longevity of the SRAM Gearset (this model came equipped with a front derailleur I havent had experience with) they even gave me a courteous discount on the Space Horse purchase. I havent been this satisfied with a local shop in a very long time. I have been converted from the big box companies like Trek and look forward to seeing these guys every few months so they can inspect my Space Horse.

I had a bike I bought off of Amazon over 2 years ago that I’ve gradually had to do repairs for. I brought it in to Big City Bikes and Alex was super kind and helpful.For starters, the repairs he offered me were way cheaper than I’d experienced at other bike shops in the city. However he also had an honest chat with me about the quality of the bike that I’d bought and that it probably didn’t have much longer left to live.I gave it some thought and in the end, I purchased one of the (also very reasonably priced) bikes they sell in the shop to replace mine that was falling apart.Overall huge props to Alex for being such a great employee to work with and big shoutout to the shop as a whole for having very reasonable prices. This has definitely become my go-to bike shop in the area now

Im new to cycling and based on the good reviews I saw for this shop, I decided to purchase a bike here. After an hour of riding, I got a flat back tire. So I took it back to the shop. They told me it was an inner tube problem, not my fault. They fixed it with ease. The next day I ride it for 30 minutes and both tires become flat. They also needed to add a back tire support with a screw because the tire would unscrew itself and not stay centered. A $500 bike at that. They tell me all of these inner tube flats are normal for a road bike when in reality, bikes for this price should go without a flat for hundreds or even a thousand miles. I returned it for a $40 restocking fee which I thought was unnecessary. My problems have been completely resolved by the owner of this shop. The customer satisfaction that is wanted by the owner has exceeded my expectations. He went to great lengths to resolve my issue by personally giving me a call and a refund on the restocking fee + some for my troubles. He even offered a very good discount on other bike brands that hell have available once shipments come in. Hell do anything to make it right.

My bike was stolen a few weeks ago, and most bike shops were sold out of bikes in my price range. I couldn’t afford a $1500 bike I don’t race just needed something fast and simple. This is mostly what they have. I tried some expensive bikes, they are nice, just can’t afford it. Was frustrated that most shops only had really expensive bikes. I like that they have female mechanics! That’s awesome!

Dont be fooled by the 5 star reviews the owners pay people to write. This is one of the worst shops in the country. These guys tried to rip me off on brake pads then tried to sell me on about 80 dollars worth of work wheb i just needed to lube the bike total scum bags

Big City Bikes is a fantastic local bike shop, and Ive had significantly better experiences here than other bike shops in the area. I came in looking for a fixie, and the staff provided me tons of options, while ensuring they stayed within my budget, met my specs, and offered honest opinions on each bike. I walked out with a perfect ride. Couldnt recommend this place enough!

They were tremendously helpful in ordering it, helping to assemble it well, and making sure that I was comfortable riding and operating it before I took it home.Im going back to them to help me pack up the bike well before I move cross-country -- and theyre able to help me do so for a very reasonable price. I bought a bike here last summer, and really enjoyed talking with the staff making the process fun and easy. But what really put Big City over the top compared to other shops, is their service with repairs and customer service. Always get a great deal and feel like they go over the top to make sure you bike is ready when you need and in better shape than before.. I highly recommend Big City Bikes.

I bought a bike here in the summer, and received an email offering $25 discount to write a review about my experience. I love my bike, I rode all summer and it was good exercise and saved me money. All around great. Glad I bought in the shop, last bike I bought online for the same price and had to pay for shipping and build, and I got it build for the same price as online in the shop, and I got a free tune up. Saved about $150. Great experience!

Can’t say enough great things about this bike shop! The owner helped me and my partner pick the perfect bikes, everyone was super nice. We went in to have a flat fixed and a nice guy named Austin helped us out and showed us how to properly care for our new wheels. We will be back next spring for our tune ups!

I came into the shop knowing very little about bikes. They were very helpful in helping me find the right size and explaining the different types of frames. They even let you test any bike you want to try and see how it feels. He explains all the parts of the bike and tips on riding a bike in the city. The customer service is superb. I would definitely recommend this place for anybody who is looking for a bike! They care about their customers!

Went here yesterday and picked up a Fyxation Pixel, I didn’t get the employees name, but he was nothing but helpful and friendly. The shop has an impressive selection of single speeds and fixies in every price range all ready to ride out of the shop. I wanted to have the gear in my bike switched from freewheel to fixed and it only took about five minutes to do that. In total I was at the shop for maybe twenty minutes and most of that was spent testing bikes on the side street. The shop had good music playing too! I was greeted by a Captain Beefheart song when I walked in. The dude that helped me was knowledgeable about bikes and obviously wanted to point me in the right direction for what I wanted. I will definitely be back in the future to get some new pedals, handlebars and a new bike whenever I feel the need for it, but I’m incredibly happy with the bike that I walked out with!!!

I had a very good experience purchasing a bike from this shop. The staff was blunt, yet helpful. They guaranteed me service in their shop under warranty. A great place for both budget and higher end single-speeds/fixies. Youll spend here what youd spend online and you have the guarantee of professional human service in a stocked environment with plenty of selection and options for customization.

Nice shop. They are adding a coffee shop in it very soon. Nice single speed bikes and lots of options. Prices are competitive. Purchased a Prime bike.Owner is cool, they are custom focused and will not nickel and dime you. If you want a single speed bike, this is the place to go.

I got a Rush bike from here, and I can’t believe how awesome it is. It has a full carbon fork, full carbon seatpost, super light, sealed bearings all around, and a pretty relaxed geometry so I can see where I’m going on the streets. Super low maintenance, I have an expensive specialized road bike that I don’t even want to ride anymore because this bike is so awesome. Highly recommend.

Went in there for a quick flat fix but they went above and beyond expectations. Took a look at the rim, tape, tire, etc. all while showing and explaining to me what he was looking for. So not only was he able to fix the problem but I got a clinic as well. I will definitely return to this store for future service!

After three flats in a row, I finally took it to a shop that could locate the problem. They helped me out immensely and did it on short notice which I greatly appreciated. Definitely check this shop out. Youll get the attention you need at a price you can actually work with.

I had the opportunity to receive beyond excellent customer service from the owner himself. For every question I had, he had an in depth answer that covered everything. He really puts in the time an effort not only into who clientele, but into the bikes as well. Other pu bicycle shops seemed very pushy for a sale, but not this place.

I had been looking for a bike to ride around town all summer after having my bike stolen last year. After test riding several bikes, I stopped by this shop. I wasnt planning on buying a single speed/fixi, didnt really know what they were but when I test rode one it was better than all the others I had test ridden at other shops, and there seems to be very little maintenance involved. I love my new bike. I ride it every day. The best part, there was always some small issue with my old bike that stopped me from riding, like gears clicking or some kind of mechanical issue. My new bike is so simple theres nothing to malfunction. I love it!

These guys fixed up an old clunker schwinn that I’ve had for 26 years. I had got a few quotes on it, it was about 3 hundred dollars to get it running smooth so I bought a new bike, which cost me $400 and is awesome. Owner told me to bring it back the schwinn in November. He only charged me for parts to get it running. Love my old schwinn made in Chicago. Running better than ever. Awesome shop.
