Joe is cool. He knows his stuff. I love your store and its aesthetic. Been there like twice and Joe was able to help me out with a fast turnaround.
I was in a jam with my wheelchair and got info I needed and got it fixed. That was a couple months ago and today I needed help again and got the chair fixed . Thank you and going to keep your store info in my phone .
I ride a lot and am very rough on my bike. I have brought my bike to Quick Release at least a dozen times over the past 7-8 years. Fabulous prices and fabulous quality. Great people. Consistently positive experience!!!!
Great experience! Went in for a few minor things (saddle change, flat, etc) and owner also cleaned up bike and made other minor adjustments that improved the ride experience. Highly highly reco this place.
Stumbled upon this place out of necessity. I was on the 606 when my back tire got flat and I looked up a nearby bike shop and walked a few blocks over. Owner was quick to diagnose the problem was the inner tube and replaced it and had my bike back in shape in 15 minutes. He also told me my tires were under inflated and got them at proper inflation for me. Charged me $12 and could not be happier. My friend who was w me asked about getting her brakes readjusted and that was done in another 20 minutes also at a low cost. Will be coming here again
Awesome place. Just a great bike shop, where you deal directly with a very knowledgeable and helpful owner. Highly recommend.
This place is awesome. They really care and are very affordable. The owner was amazing. Quality service for amazing price. . My bike feels new after a tune-up with Joe. Very reasonably priced. Charges by individual item instead of one large overhead cost. I refuse to go anywhere else. Joe is amazing and very knowledgeable! Fair and friendly!
Excellent family owned bike shop. Great service and fair prices, really nice owners.
Knowledgeable owner and quality professional service! 10/10 Would recommend
Joe Hall the owner is a great mechanic. I worked for him years ago and still bring in my bikes for work when I am in from Italy.
Joe reallu knows his stuff! Courteous, honest amd has a wealth of knowledge on bicycles. Great neighborhood bike shop!
Highly recommend fair honest prices really nice place to take your bike for repairs, anyone that has a bad review for this bike shop is absolutely wrong.
Incredible service! The best mom n pop Bike shop in the neighborhood. I honestly left my wheels there to get fixed and completely forgot about them for two months! whoops! Went back today and the owner had them sitting pretty for me waiting! Thank you for the patience! Best Bike Shop in Bucktown!
Meant to write this review for a while.I ran over a screw on the ride home. Bought my bike in since it was nearby and was surprised by the reviews. Took about 2 hours for him to complete, and noticed my wheel was way out of balance and wobbly after. He asked me, did you ride on it after? I said no, I got off right away. He said, well, you have a flat, I fixed it, youre wheels wobbly, and Im not fixing that for you today. The women in there then came to me, said, $8 please. I asked if he was going to fix the wheel? He said nope.Very disappointed considering the reviews here. Will not be back.
I commute year round, and dont always treat my bike kindly. I brought it in to quick release in rough shape, and got the most robust tuneup of its life, and at a surprisingly low cost. Shop has a bad selection of gear and accessories, but its THE place to go for repairs IMO.
Good quality work. Very reasonable prices. Nice owners
Amazing personal honest service! Great prices, lower than most places with the same high quality work.
The owner was amazing. Quality service for amazing price. I went in for a tube replacement. Took about 10 minutes. I would recommend to everyone.
Joe at Quick Release Bike Shop quickly became my go-to for anything bike related when I moved to this area a couple years ago. He is very fair on pricing and does an excellent job. I highly recommend him to anyone in the area! You can tell he really cares about bikes and good people.
Great service awesome prices the owner took care of me right away and was quick to fix my issue made my bike feel brand new again I highly recommend this bike shop
Joels reputation for crotchety-ness is undeserved. Hes not the most chatty guy but very nice, super helpful and knowledgeable. Fair prices and all sorts of random parts in stock. Plus last time my son and I were there he had an honest-to-god penny farthing in the shop, getting repaired. AWESOME.
The owner of Quick Release is Joe and he is the coolest! He does amazing work and he does not gouge you up the butt for simple fixes. He charges you like $10 or less for service and then if you need parts he charges you what he got them for. Kind of great. He is friendly but doesnt not a big chatter. GO there. Go Joe!
A literal mom and pop place! So friendly and easy going. Joe is an extremely knowledgeable mechanic and wont charge you an arm and leg for simple repairs or maintenance.
Theyve helped me here multiple times and every time Ive been 100% satisfied.Ive had new wires and chains put on an old bike and Ive had a tube and tire puncture fixed.
Is it so hard to update your hours??? It’s Monday at 12:45pm and the gates over the door.
Best bike shop Ive ever been to (period). Fair prices and Joe (the owner) takes absolute pride in his work. I originally went here just because it was close (I lived on the other side of the block on Bosworth). Ive since moved to another part of Chicago but continue to trek it over to Joe, hes the best.
Really great place to come for repairs. Most local places are filled with hipsters, but I talked to the owner directly and he gives me his opinions without trying to oversell. Ended up with exactly what I asked for, and price was less than I was quoted
This place is awesome. They really care and are very affordable.
The owner was kind and clearly EXTREMELY knowledgeable about bikes and bike repair. He fixed my two tires, filled em up with air, tightened my brakes, and I bought a small cable lock. Total cost = around $34!
Joe, the owner, is a true pro. Quick and gets you exactly what you need. You feel like the shop will always be here.
Great service with attention and care, great prices, best shop in the area. Only shop that plays WFMT (should get 6/5 stars for that)
My bike feels new after a tune-up with Joe. Very reasonably priced. Charges by individual item instead of one large overhead cost.
Hands down the best bike shop Ive been to in Chicago. Joe keeps it real, tells the truth, and wont try to hustle you into buying things you dont need. AND hes not condescending (unlike most bike shop employees ive encountered in the past.) Prices are cheap and fair.
I refuse to go anywhere else. Joe is amazing and very knowledgeable! Fair and friendly!
Joe, the owner, is the man. Great service and wont oversell you.
Other bike shop told me my front rim was SoL, and had to be replaced . This awesome shop repaired it for 10$!
Great prices and old style, they fix the tires rather than replacing them! In case someone preferes a place that advertises themselves are organic these are the true heros!
I called over 4 bike shops for a job I needed done on my sons bike & without a doubt Joe the owner had the best price & did a great job that the trip from the northwest suburbs wasnet even a problem. Will tell everyone about this place. And dont forget to get a few jelly beans before you walk out that door!! Lol
Best bike repair shop ever.
Great local bike shop.
Joe is one of the good guys. Even if you dont live nearby, i would highly recommend checking out this hidden gem.
