Maybe its nostalgia but I really love this place. Before the big box home improvement stores there were hardware stores, lumber yards, and the paint store. Then Crafty Beaver came along and combined it all while still keeping a family owned feel to it. Theyll have most of what youll need for basic home repairs and small to medium remodeling at a fair price, and you wont feel like youre giving your money to Big Business. If you havent been, you should check them out.

Friendly, helpful staff - usually have what I need on the fly. But look - when the yard crew is trained to sight your lumber - hats off - this might be the only spot left around that does this - but maybe they know Im going to do it anyway. You cant make straight out of warped... true dat...

Very friendly and knowledgeable. Soooooooooo much easier than Lowes or Home Depot. And - they send regular customers nifty coupons for cash off of purchases.

Needed a couple things from the lumber yard. Quick, courteous, didnt charge me for all the lumber cuts and they put the stuff in my car for me.

Crafty beaver is a go to store when doing home n gardening n more you get there n good price n employees are helpful and noligable I now one thing Ill be back.

For a small store they have a lot of things. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about some stuff.

Brandon and Sarah helped me find everything I needed and Gino was very friendly! We will be going back there for all our home repair needs!

Just wanted to write a quick review. Been here several times of the last year or so and every time I go I leave thinking the people who work here are so nice. Today I was there and helped by a younger guy who is often there---wish I knew his name. While I was being helped a young guy walked in and said hey. I filled out an application a few days ago and wanted to come in and see if the manager saw the application or something like that. I was impressed how good the Crafty Beaver staff guy was with the job-seeker. He was polite to him as he was to me. He told the job-seeker that the manager could talk to him in a minute. Must be from the top down because the manager was there too and I could see he had a good relationship with his staff. And they always seem to have what I need in their inventory.

This location been there since I was little kid its by my house for last minute to buy something then going all way to home Depot or Menards.

We LOVE our local hardware store! The staff is honest, helpful and extremely knowledgeable about any and all needs! Spend the extra $ over the Big Box stores and keep supporting Crafty Beaver so they can continue to be a part of our community.

Staff is super helpful, friendly and funny. We love it.Its nice not to have to wander around a huge warehouse to find what you need.They have Benjamin Moore paint!Its an old school hardware store. Whats not to like?

What a nice hardware store. So glad this is near the new house. I especially like having people able to help me find things, as opposed to wandering around the big warehouse stores from aisle to aisle ad nauseum. Friendly staff.One gentleman even tracked me down to tell me he had directed me to the wrong aisle. It was only one aisle different and he was conscientious enough to follow up. What service!

Local Chicago hardware chain based in Skokie. I use it regularly. Decent selection for a non-national chain. The staff is knowledgeable. Prices are fair. They carry high end tools and beginner tools. Good hours and ready parking.

I go there frequently to pick up hardware as needed for different projects. The staff is always polite and helpful.

No one said welcome or hello no asked if I needed help I had to ask for help. To much talking at the register you can hear the conversation through out the store.

When in the middle of doing something at home I realize that I am missing a part that needs to be replaced I dredge of going to Menards or Home Depot and loosing an hour to drive. Fortunately Crafty Beaver is super close to me and they have plenty of plumbing, electrical parts and all kind of tools. It never happened to me that I wasnt able to find what I am looking for. And people working at Crafty Beaver know in which aisle I can find the exact thing I am looking for. Five stars!

Love keeping it local, if you need something quick and don’t what to waste your time in a huge store this is the place. They literally have almost everything, if they don’t they have a number to a place that does.

Love this place, usually has everything I need and then some. I have found things there that home depot didnt have. I take care of two disabled people and live less than 5 minutes away, keep up the good work.

Local stores have everything you need

Girls dont belong in hardware stores except this one. They are always kind polite and helpful. They also teach you something if they arent super busy i.e. mid wk. They make sure you have everything you might need for your project. Even the lumber guys give you helpful hints. Way better than big box intimidating stores with kids who cant even tell u where the garden dept is!!!! Parking is free!! And they ALWAYS offer to help load your car. High marks.

It’s alright I only shop there because im three blocks away as they provide ok customer service, I’m not enthusiast in speaking of their welcoming customer service. Often times the red hair manager can have an attitude of sourness.

Crafty fits the name. We had to get a window replaced, but they knew nothing of the window and just gave us the glass. In fact they mentioned they didnt replace it, just provided the glass. If youre looking to get any help with windows, this isnt really the place. We then went to Rainbow Glass and Aluminum, Inc. Who told us they pull this a lot. They knew that it couldnt be changed, and that the whole window was gone.

Good selection of home maintenance/improvement supplies, easy to spot while driving. Parking space can feel limited, as the parking lot doubles as their outdoor garden center.

Only thing they should have had more people on the floor helping people find things had to go all the way to the register and find out where the fire extinguishers were and she took me to the aisle which was very nice of her but she left the counter there was nobody up there and then she went right back but still they should have more people out on the helping people thank you but otherwise my experience was very good there is always is usually its the first time Ive had a problem with nobody on the floor thank you
