A bit pricey for the amount of food they give you, but the great location by the river walk, fresh & healthy food (with vegan/gluten/dairy free options), unique drinks, and overall cleanliness is worth it. The decor is refreshing and the staff are friendly. Expect it to be crowded on the weekends.I recommend the steak and eggs bowl and the iced wildflower honey latte. Also notable - an LGBTQ friendly space with non-binary restrooms
We stumbled into this restaurant literally on my birthday and what a fun place to start! The ambiance, the cleanliness, the vibe - just an all around nice place to indulge and treat yourself OR for a quick meal on the go. Hubby got a protein bowl, I had a turkey sandwich for breakfast (it was my birthday after all.) The coffee was decadent and the pastries will make you feel like a kid again.
Goddess and The Baker, is one of the best kept secrets in Chicago. Great food, excellent customer service, and good music. Its really great place to eat or hangout for a few. Its a real chill environment. I contribute that too ownership,Mrs. Tammy, on down to the General Manager Jason. They do an excellent job of running one of the finest establishments in the country. No wonder theyre a very successful franchise. Its pleasure dining there and mingling with the employees, who are very well trained and disciplined. Id definitely recommend me them for your next business meeting or social gathering event. Shout out too Goddess and The Baker and its entire crew!!
I think the food and beverages are always great. Slightly over priced, hence the star drop.Allergy warning: not safe for severe allergy people, even for the top 9. I have a nut intolerance, and was once given a scone with nuts, despite being told it “did not have nuts only trace” Today with another seasonal product I was told “they would have to dig deeper to see if it had nut ingredients”, I passed and got something else I personally knew was safer.
They were delicious! It is hard to decide what to try with so many amazing choices! Nice counter service and they bring your food and drinks out for you. I reserved a table successfully to celebrate a wonderful occasion with my friends!
Everything is perfect. Ambiance is great. Highly recommend it.
Pastries were delicious! Service was great, outdoor seating was well-kept. Had a cappuccino, wasnt the best but it wasnt the worst Ive ever had.
Cute place didnt waait long and had seating available. Good was a good selection and everything we order tasted great. I ordered the glitter gold latte and it was the prettiest drink Ive ever had. Taste was and average latte but the sparkle made it worth it. Will definitely visit again next time Im in town. Lots of sweet treats to choose from and my niece and nephew loved what I brought them back.
I am in love with this place. The sheer delight of an awesome bakery with stellar coffee offerings is an absolute rarity. It is always an exception when an establishment takes such great care of every aspect of their offerings and with such passion. I rate this place among the very top to go places.
The space is beautiful and has good seating and they have a large variety of menu options, which is something I always appreciate at a cafe. I did not try a coffee, but it did look quite good. However, at no point in time while I was there was I greeted, not even when I walked up to the counter to order. I ordered a bagel & schmear to go. After waiting for almost 10 minutes, I went to check on my order. Again, no one ever spoke to me directly but they did seem to still be working on my order. When I got it, I was a deconstructed bagel sandwich that I had to put together myself. Toasted bagel, tiny container of to go cream cheese, & onions, cucumbers, & tomato in another container. If you weren’t making my sandwich, what took so long?? I was annoyed at the whole experience. The bagel itself was good though once I got to eat it. I took pictures of coffee someone else ordered.
Baked goods looked amazing, I had a strawberry soda with whip cream. It was so wierd at first but it was so delicious. And the Nashville Spicy chicken sandwich had so much flavor. I had to take my time with it because of how overwhelming it was. Def would check out.
We have sent a lot of time in Europe and loved to find a cafe that made us feel transported back there. The selection was very good and prices a bit high but fair. We ordered an iced latte and house coffee. Both were very good. We ate an everything bagel breakfast sandwich and chocolate croissant. The croissant was a bit pedestrian but had good chocolate. The breakfast sandwich was delicious. The eggs were perfect and the bacon very flavorful and well done. They were but it was Saturday morning so we crossed the street and sat on the bank of the river. Very nice!
Small portions for typical lunch prices, but comfortably light / healthy and no problem if youre expensing it for work :) beautiful bakery selection too! Oreo fudge cake is great.
Had myself a protein bowl, sweet goddess brew, Nutella cupcake, and carrot cake.... Not dissapointed a single bite :)
Absolutely perfect ! Amazing place and staff . Also the music. The good was impressive 😍😍😍 .
Came here to study during a weekend afternoon. Had the bacon potato soup, which was deliciously creamy. Also got a free drip coffee with Yelp check-in! There was a wide variety of dairy and non-dairy creamers (even macadamia) to choose from. Best seats for studying are at the bar on the north side of the restaurant overlooking Wacker Drive.
Nice coffee and food but the service needs improvement.
Food, coffee and service are great! Music inside is really loud
Literally best sandwich of my entire life (chicken caprese) and best coffee i’ve had in chicago! 100/10 and the employees were so so kind
Kind of noisy, but other than that an amazing place. Their tableware is cute, their yogurt parfait was incredible and their coffee was good! Great service. Outlets to charge your devices and tables of all sizes. Perfect to go with your friends or alone. I wasnt in the mood for sweets but they had some incredible-looking cakes!
Im a Goddess and grocer/baker fan. This is the worst of any location I have been. The music is way too loud. The customer service is often rude/cold which is 100% uncharacteristic of all other locations. An employee actually just tried to clear my ridiculously expensive single piece avocado toast ($9) before I had even finished it. Coffee is almost $3 for a small. The worst part of all is the virtue signaling. Goddess informs patrons via two big signs near the restroom that no matter who you identify as, you are welcome to use either of them... so long as you identify as a human at the very least. I have identified myself as a chimichanga for about a year now and personally find that allowing only Human Beings to use the restrooms is blatantly discriminatory and offensive. For all of these reasons, I highly recommend finding another venue. Hate has no home here.
Cutest place EVER!! I randomly stumbled upon it and decided to walk in to see what all the buzz was about! The vietnamese coffee was delicious! Unfortunately, I didnt get a treat but they all looked very appetizing!!!!
Cute place with good desserts.
Good spot for breakfast
Heaven ... no other words. Pastries and coffee 👌🏼
Love trying new things every time I come!!
Delish
No better way to celey PRIDE than with this delicious butter cream Rainbow cake.
Excellent service and a lot of drink and food options. I really liked their nitro coffees that are served on tap. The prices are high for a cafe, but the service makes up for it.
Their drinks are awesome!
For its location and order volume, this goddess has good speed and quality of food. The price is a bit much for the type of food, but isnt uncommon considering the business/tech part of town its in. The drinks and sandwiches are good but I think their best items are cookies and cakes. Note that the glitter cookie IS NOT as soft as it looks, sadly. Otherwise, a good place for coffee on the go. Seating is limited and almost always unavailable though.
Great coffee. I had an almond milk latte which tasted great. Ive had almond milk lattes at other places and they just didnt taste good. The latte here was creamy and very tasty. I also tried their mini apple pie which was a great compliment to the coffee and thoroughly required at the end of a day of sightseeing.
My favorite coffee place, the staff here are incredibly nice.
Very good hot chocolate, Must try the Hot Mama Elixir!
The coffee was really good. They had a self serve for the house coffee which made things pretty easy. The Valentines cupcakes looked promising and I was entranced by everything they had that was sweet. However, I got myself a sandwich. The Santa Monica Turkey sandwich. I think it was a little meh despite being perfectly filling.
Absolutely loved the food and comfortable atmosphere!!
Amazing location, good coffee quality!
Great breakfast spot! Perfect if youre looking for something healthy. They have fantastic juices and coffees, too. Very loud and sometimes difficult to find a seat, but well worth it. Their bakery is on point if you feel like indulging in a sweet treat.
Wonderful breakfast burrito, only 6:99!
Great place for a quick bit right next to River Walk.
Loved the food 😍
This place is beautiful and although its pretty crowded at lunchtime, they seem to move things along. I love the hummus wrap. And, if youre someone who doesnt do dairy, the lattes with macadamia nut milk are pure heaven! The baked goods look swoon worthy, but I havent treated myself yet. Goddess is right across from the River Walk so you can grab lunch, people watch, and relax while the boats go by.
I never write these kind of reviews, but this place was really annoying. Stopped in at lunchtime on a Tuesday just to check it out and maybe get a brownie. Never again. Baked goods were unmarked behind the counter and prices were not shown. Fruit flies were crawling on some items. Service was dismissive and frankly lazy. They don’t take any cash. Music was blasting. Then finally when they managed to figure out what I wanted (a brownie!?) they insisted that I wait and sit down so they could cut the brownie in half and serve it to me on an effete little dish with a paper doily.
Came here and LOVED the atmosphere, the service and the food and drink. ***it is cashless, you can only pay with credit card**. I got the iron man scramble which was delightful. My husband got a latte and croissant that he also enjoyed. Would love to come back and try more of their food and drinks.
Great place and awesome vibe. Nitro coffee on tap, and cool tunes.
Just walked past and decided to stop and grab something to eat. SO good! Everything was freshly prepared, delicious and reasonably priced. Got a fresh juice and it was incredibly tasty and refreshing! Enjoyed breakfast on the sidewalk with a nice view of the city.
Love their sandwiches and lunch fare. Gets a bit noisy and crowded so not always ideal if youre trying to hold a conversation during peak hours, but a lovely place to stop off for a break and a bite.
Okay coffee, though slightly overpriced. Enjoyable food. Stellar ground-level cityscape vantage.
Nice vibe.
