Tyler and Will moved some large furniture pieces as well as a lot of other little items, many of which could have been easily dented or warped. AMAZING! We had a fantastic move with Jordan and Tyler! They are the BEST! We were given a two hour window for the start of the move and they called to let us know their approximate arrival time. They wrapped everything up with such care and made sure that the furniture corners were protected. They are extremely hard workers and did an excellent job carefully moving furniture up a very narrow and vertically challenged staircase. They are true professionals! We will definitely hire them again for our next move!

Darren and his team did a great job with our move. They arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently (but carefully!) with all of our furniture and items. They took time to wrap furniture so that it wouldn’t be damaged in transit and we’re happy that everything survived completely unscathed.The three team crew completed a 2-bedroom apartment move (~2 miles) in under 4 hours.Communication during booking (~2 weeks prior) was also quick and easy.All around highly recommended!

A side table that belonged to my wifes grandmother. Leg broke and pieces are missing that we can even repair it. See attached pictures.

Scheduled a 2-phase move directly with the owner, Richard. Phase 1 was local to the Chicago area with 80% going to storage and 20% going to our temporary accommodations until our home in Florida is ready in a few months. Richard was a pleasure to speak with and reassured my concerns. They also have a online platform for inventory which was helpful to get organized in terms of what I wanted to keep on hand, in storage, and what to toss.On the day of, they arrived on the early side of the time window quoted. The crew lead was Joe and fantastic to with. The rest of the guys - David, Mike, Mike #2, and Xavier were also wonderful. They worked in teams to load items very efficiently so that each location mostly had its sections within each of the trucks. The guys were all super polite, strong, quick, and motivated. Exactly what you hope for.Looking forward to using them again for the long distance portion of the move, especially considering the owner of the company is the lead who actually accompanies all long distance moves. That right there, thats what sets this company apart. I couldnt recommend them enough!

I have been using Collins Family Movers since 2012 and probably for 6 - 7 total moves. My family have used them as well. They are my go to movers and the only movers I trust with my stuff. They are honest, efficient, SUPER FAST, and take care in the work they do. They wrap up everything that is needed so nothing gets damaged and they take pride in this. It is truly amazing how they pack their truck like a puzzle to fit everything in. I have recommended them a dozen times and everyone has been just as satisfied.The president, Richard will right any wrong or misunderstanding.TIP: they will send you a request for an inventory list 24 hrs after you book your move. Take this serious. You know what furniture is in your home. Over guess on boxes. That way you do not end up with an estimate that is way off the actual cost or you do not have the right amount of movers for the job.

I used Collins for an in-town move, into a storage unit. They were extremely easy to deal with and schedule. Day of, the movers called me 45 minutes in advance of the start time to let me know they were on the way, and showed up exactly on time. I was originally quoted 2 hours, and the guys only went over by 15 minutes, and that was simply due to dealing with multiple elevators. Probably would have been done early if not for that! Overall I’m very happy with their service and professionalism and will use them for all future moves.

Would not wear masks even after asking several times. Over a thousand dollars in damages to the apartment and building. Took 9 hours to move a 1 bedroom 10 minute drive (no packing/organizing, just moving with freight elevator). Movers didnt know what they were doing and took their sweet time. Had to coach them how to move furniture, stay on top of them to keep working, and provide positive reinforcement with each load. It was bad, a rip off, and worse experience Ive had moving. I would not recommend - not professional movers

The guys were great. I moved between 2 high rise buildings in Gold Coast/River North area. They showed up exactly when they said they would, wore masks the whole time, were friendly, and accommodated me not being a particularly organized person by collecting and boxing loose items that I had not packed yet. The price was a little bit more than I was quoted elsewhere, but it was very worth it. Ive had bad movers before and you dont want that. Collins family was definitely worth a few extra dollars for the exceptional level of service. Ill use them again in the future and recommend to others.

Collins Family Movers we great on all fronts!!When we left Chicago we werent quite sure where we were heading and CFM helped us move to a storage unit. Then when we found a permanent home in Boston, they moved all our stuff from the storage unit in Chicago to Boston without us needing to head back to Chicago. They made an extremely stressful time in our life much simpler and I felt confident the entire time because I was actually dealing with the owner of the company. They picked up the phone every time I called and arrive exactly on time at every pick-up and drop-off. I would recommend them for any short or long-distance move.Furthermore, one of the movers accidentally tracked a little mud into the bedroom and they went out and bought rags and rug cleaner to resolve the issue before the move was complete, and the carpet looks great!Thanks again for everything!!

The Colins Family team were very prompt and professional on the day of my move. I received calls from the owner, Richard, and the two movers prior to the move to let me know that they were down a mover that day due to injury, but that my estimate cost would be adjusted. I was surprised by how fast the two movers, Mike and David, were able to safely load up my 850sq. Ft. Apartment on the fifth floor. They made sure to use padding and were gentle with every box. When we arrived at my new place they made sure to place boxes in the proper rooms for easier unpacking later. Mike and David even went as far as to help me fix a bar stool for me that was broken (not during the move). The service I received was above and beyond my expectations. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone.

I found Collins Family Movers on Yelp. After reading their excellent reviews, I sent them a message. Richard responded right away. Also, their prices were very fair and he was upfront about everything from the start. CFM is also very organized with getting your moving inventory in place prior to the actual move. In my case, it helped lower my initial estimate because I only needed 2 movers versus 3 movers because mine was a smaller sized move. Gram and Marco handled my move and did a great job. Everything was wrapped up with blankets and plastic. They were also efficient, fast, friendly, VERY hard-working and professional. The move went very smooth from door to door. Id absolutely recommend CFM to anyone looking for movers.

Manny, Jose, and Reyes were excellent. Very professional. They were were in and out and made our moving day easy. We have a lot of heavy custom furniture, which didn’t even faze them. Our home was built in the 1920s, so there are a lot of tight spaces. They were able to make it all fit while protecting our floors and walls. Would definitely work with them again. Highly recommend

I was so pleased with Collins Family Movers! I chose them based on Yelp reviews and I was definitely not disappointed. I moved from an apartment to a storage unit in Chicago and not only was the price right, but the service was fantastic. Richard, the owner, was always available, quick to respond and very accommodating (even when I switched storage unit locations at the last minute). My two movers, Mike and Robert, were efficient, kind and professional. They also did everything at a very quick pace which makes a difference when youre paying by the hour! Richard and Collins Family Movers made the moving process very easy for me, which I appreciate. I would absolutely recommend them and will use them again the next time I move.

I had a great experience with Collins Family Moving Co. from start of communications regarding pricing and quote, scheduling, and the moving process. Richard was prompt in all communications and answered all my questions. Their website to count inventory was easy and user friendly. Their pricing I found to be fair and reasonable. I feel like I wasn’t being nickel and dimed for every service like tape, padding, wrapping. It was a straight $50 fee for all tape, padding, and wrap. It was well worth it to protect my 2 bedrooms worth of furniture and electronics.They were able to provide insurance info via email to my building management before the move day.I had an afternoon move scheduled due to my high rise building freight elevator schedule, so I was given a 2-hour start window, but they came right on time at 1pm, and gave me a call about an hour notice prior to arrival.They sent 3 movers and a large truck. They movers were awesome and very pleasant. They had tools and were able to disassemble and reassemble my large dining room table, gym-grade treadmill, large tool chest, king sized bed frame, and so much more. They padded and wrapped everything super well — not one nick or scratch on my furniture and electronics. They also wrapped the mattresses with plastic wrapping to keep them clean during the move, which I really appreciated. I had large items like a professional grade grill and a large massage chair, which were difficult to move into my new home due to dimensions. but they found solutions to it.At the end of the move, they accept Venmo or Quickpay, which doesn’t incur any transaction fees that credit and debit cards would.I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again, if I have to move again. Don’t forget to tip!

Collins Family Movers was amazing! Richard, the owner, was incredibly quick to respond with a quote (on a Saturday afternoon no less!) and was incredibly professional and informative. Very straight forward and painless process to set up a move, on pretty short notice too! On moving day, our movers - Mike & Eugene - were fantastic! They were courteous, efficient, and willing to move everything, even though it was more than what I inventoried ahead of time. Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone moving locally. I had a difficult close on the purchase of my home, it repeatedly got delayed due to various factors. Throughout it all Richard of Collins Family Movers put up with the numerous delays until we finally made the move. Having gotten three quotes, Collins was very competitive and the price was based upon the size of the truck, not weight as is the practice of other companies. The crew was great, very nice and personable. The crew of three worked well together and quickly and efficiently got me moved into my new home. Thanks to Richard and the moving crew, GREAT JOB!
